146m Lürssen superyacht Opera delivered
The 146-metre superyacht Opera has been delivered after leaving Lürssen's Bremen site in northern Germany. The tenth-largest privately owned yacht in the world undertook her maiden voyage to Portsmouth Harbour in the UK where she arrived yesterday (5 March).
Terence Disdale is responsible for both the exterior and interior of the yacht, which is understood to have a 20-metre beam and interior volume exceeding 10,000GT.
After paying a visit to Portsmouth, she is expected to continue onwards to a home berth in the Mediterranean or Middle East.
While details are sparse, pictures show a pair of helipads on the foredeck and upper deck aft and two swimming pools on the sun deck and main deck, the latter of which has a rise-and-fall floor.
Opera is thought to be a rebuild project of 145-metre Project Sassi, which was destroyed in the 2018 shipyard fire.
The yacht joins eight other in-build Lürssen superyachts, including the 100-metre-plus Project Alibaba and the 122-metre Project Jag , which is set to hit the water soon with delivery in 2023.

Exclusive: Launch of new Lürssen 146m superyacht OPERA
By Nina Done 19 September 2022 The newest addition to the prestigious Lürssen fleet has just been launched from their Bremen facilities in Germany. The majestic 146m (479ft) superyacht OPERA was unveiled this morning, where onlookers were wowed by her vast proportions. As ever, details about this Lürssen superyacht remain shrouded in secrecy. Her exterior styling comes from the boards of Terence Disdale Design, featuring elegant lines and floor-to-ceiling windows to maximise natural light and create wide vistas to provide a harmonious balance with her surroundings. Throughout the build the megayacht’s specifications and amenities have been kept a closely guarded secret, but pictures reveal she will have a helipad on the foredeck, as well as a large main deck swimming pool and expansive beach club. It is expected that her delivery will take place in early 2023, although it is not expected that motor yacht OPERA will be available for charter upon delivery. Both the exterior lines and the interior of this impressive vessel were designed by well-known Terence Disdale Design studio while her naval architecture is by the yard’s professional in-house team of architects. mega yacht OPERA by Lurssen – photo © DrDuu As yachts of this calibre are always extremely secretive, there have been very few details unveiled about OPERA. Judging by the photographs, we can tell that some of her main features include massive deck spaces, both in and out, two helipads, at least two swimming pools, numerous dining and lounging areas on various decks and a huge beach platform at transom. She is expected to have a large variety of water toys, including tenders, jet skis, inflatable toys and much, much more. Hvorostovsky in MoscowWith Guest star Sondra Radvanovsky Constantine Orbelian, conductor Philharmonia of Russia A Magical Match Made in Moscow. In June 2008, Dmitri Hvorostovsky invited Sondra Radvanovsky to be his guest star in the prestigious Moscow concert series ‘Hvorostovsky and Friends,’ with conductor Constantine Orbelian and the Philharmonia of Russia. This glamorous occasion, captured on film for Russian television, marked these artists’ first-ever musical collaboration – and proved to be a historic event that documented for posterity one of those all-too-rare instances of magical artistic alchemy between two great opera stars. Their electrifying performance was an instant sensation, and a potent preview of the two stars’ effusively acclaimed later appearances together in Il Trovatore at Covent Garden, The Met and The San Francisco Opera. Delos recorded the live concert, to be released later as the critically-acclaimed CD, ‘Verdi Opera Scenes’. The Russian TV show, featuring their national baritone hero and his dazzling guest, was broadcast throughout the Russian Federation. Upon obtaining that film footage, Delos collaborated with California film editor Steve Scoville, who expertly synched the footage with Delos’s concert audio. The result, available for the first time on this DVD, takes the viewer/listener to Moscow’s Great Hall for the concert’s most unforgettable moments, with stunning ‘you are there’ sonic and visual impact. Bonus feature interview with Maestro Orbelian.

Harris rallies Democrats on Day 2 of the conventionThe lineup of speakers on the second night of the Democratic National Convention featured Barack Obama, and the nominee herself, Vice President Kamala Harris, made a video appearance. A jubilant crowd danced in the aisles and cheered as Republicans who’d disavowed Donald Trump announced their support for Harris. Here’s the latest . Harris and Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, her running mate, were rallying supporters at the site of last month’s Republican convention in Milwaukee, in the swing state of Wisconsin. “This is a people-powered campaign,” she said, appearing on screens throughout the Chicago arena. “And together we will chart a new way forward.” In a show of unity, the speakers last night included Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, eight years after hundreds of his supporters stormed out of the Democratic convention in Philadelphia to protest Hillary Clinton’s nomination after a bruising primary contest. Republican counterprogramming : Trump spoke about crime and public safety in Howell, Mich., about an hour northwest of Detroit. His choice of location — a city whose past involves white supremacy and activity by the Ku Klux Klan — drew criticism from the Harris campaign. More highlights: President Biden was greeted on Monday with chants of “Thank you, Joe!” in honor of his lifetime of public service. But the crowd was also thanking him for not running again . Harris supported Obama in 2008 when Hillary Clinton was dominating the Democratic primary race. It was a political risk that he never forgot . Negotiations are expected to continue this week, a U.S. official said. Hamas said yesterday that it was eager to reach a cease-fire but that the latest American proposal was “a reversal” from what it had agreed to in early July. While many details of the plan remained unclear, at least parts of the American proposal appeared to conform to demands added by Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in late July, officials said, such as Israeli troops continuing to patrol Gaza’s border with Egypt, albeit in reduced numbers. Ukraine’s assault showed that the West’s fears about the ramifications of attacks on Russian territory were unfounded and should be abandoned, he said. “The whole naïve, illusory concept of so-called red lines regarding Russia, which dominated the assessment of the war by some partners, has crumbled,” he said in a speech published on Monday. Moscow’s faltering response to Kyiv’s offensive should signal to the world that Russia is not the fearsome superpower it once seemed to be, he said. “It is the time when the world is shedding its last and very naïve illusions about Russia,” he said. Background: For more than two years, Washington has denied Ukraine permission to strike into Russia using the weapons it supplies, citing fears of an escalating conflict between Moscow and the West. This spring, after months of Ukrainian lobbying, the U.S. and other NATO countries adjusted their policies and allowed it to do so.
