Our shop is based in a traditional boat yard on the North Kent coast , where a wide range of enthusiasts undertake a vast array of projects ranging from “new builds” and full restoration to a short “lift out” for routine maintenance and then a return to their seasons sailing. The team are here to help, from a single nut and bolt, a replacement rope, a tin of paint, or a full electrical or plumbing system.
Looking to the future, the chandlery team are developing a range of products aimed at camping, caravanning and motor home users. This is a sector we have become steadily more and more involved in over recent times with many products and systems becoming interchangeable and many of our suppliers serving both sectors. This is an area of our business that we hope to grow and develop over the coming seasons.
The team are always working hard in the background to develop the business and to bring new products and services to our customers.

By Road: We are located centrally between Ramsgate and Dover on the East Kent coast . from London the easiest route is A2 to Faversham then A299 to Ramsgate and A256 to Sandwich.
By Sea: From Dover head north towards Ramsgate, staying inside the Breaksands, until you reach the safe water mark. From there follow the navigation marks into the river mouth.
From Ramsgate, head west lining up the outer harbour wall with a transit of the left hand and tall chimney of Richborough Power Station.

Maritime suppliers mailspeed marine is acquired by kent chandlery.
Pirates Cave, the Rochester-based chandlery, has acquired the maritime suppliers Mailspeed Marine brand from the Friday Media Group. Included in the acquisition is the website, mailspeedmarine.com, which will be merged with Pirates Cave’s own website.
The move further cements Pirates Cave, established in 1991, as a chandlery that caters for all needs, and which claims to be the largest chandler in Kent.
A spokesperson from Pirates Cave commented:
“Pirates Cave is one of the best-stocked chandlers in the South East, with more product lines available than ever before.
“We look forward to welcoming and serving Mailspeed Marine’s loyal customers to Pirates Cave Chandlery.”
Maritime suppliers Mailspeed Marine was set up in 1981 to sell chandlery online and by mail order. The company provides marine supplies including sailing clothing, deck shoes, yacht chandlery, marine electronics, inflatable boats, outboard engines and other sailing equipment.
The acquisition was for an undisclosed sum.
