St David: Captain Lee replaced on season 11 of Below Deck

Season 11 of hit reality TV Show Below Deck will return to screens on 5 February 2024, this time with Captain Kerry Titheradge taking over from Captain Lee’s slot. According to TV network Bravo, the series will this time be based around Grenada, where the superyacht crew will again set sail on the 60-metre Benetti motor yacht St David with a new captain at the helm.

The show is based around an eight-week charter season and is one of the network’s most highly-rated series. It will feature some familiar faces – including chief stew Fraser Olender and Ben Willoughby – as well as welcoming a new chef, Anthony Iracane, a French restaurateur from Miami. Overseeing the deck crew will be Bosun Jared Woodin, while Marie “Sunny” Marquis and Kyle Stillie will join as deckhands. New stews Cat Bough, Xandi Olivier, and Barbie Pascual will complete the crew.

First used in season 10, St David was the largest yacht in the show’s history and is one of a few in the series to use the yacht’s real name. Take a look inside...

Delivered in 2008 by Italian shipyard Benetti, St David is a full-custom yacht with both interior and exterior design from British studio Winch Design . She went on to become a finalist at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards , where the judges were impressed by her sleek, supercar-inspired profile.

At the time of her launch, she was the sixth-largest yacht in the Benetti fleet. She was last sold in 2018, with an asking price was €22,500,000. Morley Yachts is currently her Central Agency for charter, and she is currently on the charter market from €325,000 per week, plus expenses during low season and €345,000 per week plus expenses during high season.

The yacht is a historically popular charter yacht that has made appearances at a number of high-profile events, including the Cannes Film Festival. She has also ventured to off-the-beaten-path locations including the Seychelles, Red Sea and Abu Dhabi.

A classic Baroque theme characterises St David ’s social spaces, with intricate marquetry made from satin woods and a skylounge area that draws inspiration from a ‘Tuscan palazzo’, with its turquoise, white and gold mosaic floor.

One of the most notable features is an elegant spiral staircase that leads through all three decks and is lit by a skylight in the spa pool of the sun deck. The sun deck itself is well-appointed, with sunloungers and a sunpad spread where guests can stretch out and relax. There is a shaded portion of deck which benefits from a casual dining arrangement and a spa pool bordered by more sunpads, which can also be fitted with an al fresco cinema screen.

Accommodation is for 12 guests in six cabins, with a split-level master suite that lets in plenty of light.

In terms of toys, St David has expansive water toy facilities and storage, including scuba dive gear. She most recently refitted in 2021 and works included new interior and exterior fabrics, audiovisual upgrades and a new skylounge cinema. The watersports equipment has also seen a recent upgrade, with a new 7.2m tender, new Waverunners, and an electric foiling surfboard.

The news that Below Deck Season 11 will premiere on 5 February 2024 was announced during BravoCon in Las Vegas.

Captain Lee Rosbach Experienced a “First” on Season 10 of Below Deck: “Wow”

The  Below Deck  captain explains how  St. David  is different from any yacht he’s worked on. 

On the Season 10 premiere of  Below Deck, Captain Lee Rosbach and his crew started their charter season on a jaw-dropping new yacht. As you can see in the video above, the boat has many incredible features, but one major change in particular stuck out to Captain Lee.

“[This is the] first time I’ve ever had a captain’s chair that didn’t swivel,” he said on the November 21 episode. “Wow.” 

In an episode interview, Captain Lee shared some of the other ways  St. David  differs from the yachts we’ve previously seen him working on, like  My Seanna   and  Valor . “It’s a big boat. Calf muscles are gonna be burning. It’s 197 feet, 1,093 tons,” he explained. “The staterooms are bigger, the hallways are longer, we got an extra deck. That’s another flight of stairs.”

In the clip above, chief stew  Fraser Olender  reveals a few more notable differences about the yacht. “We have a Jacuzzi, one of the deepest Jacuzzis I’ve worked with, providing lots of entertainment and fun for our guests,” he says. While he says the pantry is “the smallest pantry I’ve ever had to work,” he notes that the crew mess is “massive compared to what I’ve usually been dealt.”

'Below Deck' 's Captain Lee Rosbach Closes Out 'Magical' Tenure on Bravo: 'It Feels Right'

After a decade on the Bravo series, Rosbach hung up his epaulettes on Monday's episode: "It's kind of a bittersweet moment. It's your last docking — you sure as hell don't want to f--- that up"

Below Deck is officially a man down after Captain Lee Rosbach said his final farewell to the Bravo hit after 10 "crazy" seasons.

Rosbach, 73, appeared in his final episode on the yachting show on Monday night. As another charter season wrapped up, the man affectionately known as the "Stud of the Sea" sprinkled in a few of his signature salty words of advice and reflected on the coda to his four-decade-long career in yachting.

"Being a captain and being out on the water, there's just something kind of magical out there," he said early in the episode. "It feels right, it's kind of like Christmas morning."

Season 10's final charter guests were body builders, which hit close to home for Rosbach, who hit the gym every day for weeks in order to return to the ship after he had to temporarily step away due to health concerns .

But, despite his admiration for the guest's commitment to physical fitness, he did draw a line when they asked the crew of motor yacht St. David to star in their own body building show.

Rosbach — a self-professed "gym rat" — was not about to take off his shirt for the guests. As he quipped in an interview: "There is only so much lipstick you can put on this pig."

The guests disembarked quickly since it was only a one-day charter, and with that Rosbach returned his ship to port one last time.

"When you're coming to the dock, it's kind of a bittersweet moment," he acknowledged. "It's your last docking — you sure as hell don't want to f--- that up."

After he bid adieu to his team members one by one, he mused aloud: "I really hate to say goodbye to any of this crew. I would stack them up against anyone, I really would."

Taking stock of his time on the sea, he offered up his trademark humor. "Going on 40 years I've been a yacht captain, have I seen a lot of crazy s---?" he asked, before adding a wry laugh: "Is a 40-pound robin fat? Yeah."

He continued over a montage of moments from the show that ranged from wacky to legitimately life-or-death : "Have I been in situations that I didn't think I was gonna make it through? Oh yeah."

But, he affirmed, "Deciding to become a yacht captain has been the best decision I have ever made in my life."

And of this season in particular, he said, " I made a promise that I would come back. That's a promise that I delivered. I want people to look at the job that I've done and go, 'He set the bar high, and he kept it high.' God d---, what a ride."

"I don't know what's gonna happen in the future, but the ocean's always gonna be part of me," he concluded. "I've still got the best god d--- job in the world."

Rosbach was forced to exit motor yacht St. David early into filming for season 10 , a reluctant decision he described to chef Rachel Hargrove as "one of the most humbling experiences of my life."

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Captain Sandy Yawn stepped in for much of the season, with Rosbach telling PEOPLE in December: " She really did me a solid. I'm grateful she was there."

"That's a very difficult situation that I put her in," he explained. "You're taking over somebody else's boat and somebody's else's crew. That's hard enough as it is — now add on top of it the fact that you're also filming a TV show and you've got me over here saying, 'By the way, I may or may not be back. It's open-ended, but I'll do my best!' I recognize how hard that is."

Below Deck debuted in July 2013, and its 10th season kicked off Nov. 21 with Rosbach and the St. David crew navigating the waters around the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia.

Kate Chastain — who developed a close personal bond with Rosbach while serving as his chief stew for several seasons — reflected on her mentor's time on Below Deck during a visit to Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in mid-December.

"You know, I think he had a great run," said Chastain, 40. "Ten years! It was his choice, for health reasons, and I think he's pleased with it."

Captain Lee Rosbach is saying bon voyage to Below Deck . During Monday’s episode, the beloved captain of the St. David yacht announced that he will be leaving the show due to health issues. 

Since the start of season 10, Rosbach has been dealing with nerve issues. In a confessional, the 73-year-old captain opened up about his health battle.

"My injury, it's getting worse. The left side of my body, I don't feel anything," he said. "I expected a lot more progress than I'm experiencing, and the most frustrating part about it is, I can't do a god da** thing about it, and it's hard." 

Later in the episode, the "Stud of the Sea" went on to explain how in order to show up for his crew, he has to be in top shape -- and that’s just isn't possible at this time.

"The pain's getting worse, not better. I owe it to my crew to do right by them. They expect that out of me," he shared. "There comes a point if a captain is really being objective, he should be putting the best interests of his crew first because that's your primary responsibility. As soon as you step on board, check your f**king ego at the dock. That's where you leave it." 

During a conversation with Bosun Ross McHarg, Rosbach said that he was "OK," though it was evident to his co-star that he was in a lot of pain. 

"I got a lot of respect for Captain. If he tells me that he's good to go, I believe that," McHarg said in a confessional. "And until he tells me he's not, then we just get on with the job." 

At the end of the show, Rosbach made the announcement of his departure with the crew. 

"As you guys know, I've been struggling with my mobility, and it's been hard,” he said. "And I've let you guys down, and for that I apologize. So I've made a decision to leave the boat." 

Monday's  Below Deck episode ended with a cliffhanger, and fans will have to tune in next week to see how the rest of the captain's conversation with the crew plays out. 

On Tuesday, Rosbach took to Twitter to tease his return. After a fan messaged the reality star and asked, "Will you be back next season?," the captain hinted that it may not be the end of the road for him on the show.

"I will as long as it’s fun, which it is and you guys still want to have me," he replied.

Rosbach has been on the series since the premiere in 2010. In November, the captain spoke to ET  and admitted that during this season, he did something he has never done before. 

"I do something on this season that I have never done before that is kind of interesting, I think," he teased. "It really is something I didn't see coming, something I didn't like, but I have always gone by the mantra of, 'Do the right thing,' and sometimes doing the right thing is very comfortable, sometimes it's very, very difficult, but it's still the right thing to do. After the dust settles, you have to do the right thing." 

New episodes of Below Deck  season 10 premiere Mondays on Bravo and each episode begins streaming the next day on Peacock.

Captain Lee exits ‘Below Deck’ season early amid persistent health issues

On Season 10, Episode Four of "Below Deck," Rosbach said that his nerve issues are getting worse and he needs to leave the show.

“As you guys know, I’ve been struggling with my mobility, and it’s been hard," he said while addressing his crew. "And I’ve let you guys down, and for that, I apologize. So I’ve made a decision to leave the boat.”

Earlier in the episode, Rosbach shared the extent of his health issues.

“My injury, it’s getting worse. The left side of my body, I don’t feel anything," he said in his confessional. “I expected a lot more progress than I’m experiencing, and the most frustrating part about it is, I can’t do a God d--- thing about it. And it’s hard.”

Due to his health issues, Rosbach has been using crutches to get around the boat.

Although he told costar Bosun Ross McHarg that he was "doing OK," in the episode, McHarg quickly noticed that Rosbach was in "a lot of pain."

"I got a lot of respect for Captain. If he tells me that he's good to go, I believe that," McHarg said in a confessional. "And until he tells me he's not, then we just get on with the job."

It wasn't long until Rosbach noticed that he couldn't do his duties as well as before. With a full crew on deck, Rosbach told chef Rachel Hargrove that his biggest problem with his mobility was that he couldn't keep an eye on his crew.

"One of my biggest problems right now is I'm not able to observe," he said. "I don't know who's doing what. That's my job.

“I couldn’t tell you if my shoes are on or off,” he added.

In a confessional, he shared that he feels responsible for his crew.

“There comes a point if a captain is really being objective, he should be putting the best interests of his crew first because that’s your primary responsibility,” Rosbach said. “As soon as you step on board, check your f---ing ego at the dock. That’s where you leave it.”

The next episode of "Below Deck" on Monday, Dec. 19 will reveal more about Lee's departure. After all, the captain still has yet to share who'll be taking the reins on his ship.

Captain Lee exits ‘Below Deck’ season early amid persistent health issues

On Season 10, Episode Four of "Below Deck," Rosbach said that his nerve issues are getting worse and he needs to leave the show.

“As you guys know, I’ve been struggling with my mobility, and it’s been hard," he said while addressing his crew. "And I’ve let you guys down, and for that, I apologize. So I’ve made a decision to leave the boat.”

Earlier in the episode, Rosbach shared the extent of his health issues.

“My injury, it’s getting worse. The left side of my body, I don’t feel anything," he said in his confessional. “I expected a lot more progress than I’m experiencing, and the most frustrating part about it is, I can’t do a God d--- thing about it. And it’s hard.”

Due to his health issues, Rosbach has been using crutches to get around the boat.

Although he told costar Bosun Ross McHarg that he was "doing OK," in the episode, McHarg quickly noticed that Rosbach was in "a lot of pain."

"I got a lot of respect for Captain. If he tells me that he's good to go, I believe that," McHarg said in a confessional. "And until he tells me he's not, then we just get on with the job."

It wasn't long until Rosbach noticed that he couldn't do his duties as well as before. With a full crew on deck, Rosbach told chef Rachel Hargrove that his biggest problem with his mobility was that he couldn't keep an eye on his crew.

"One of my biggest problems right now is I'm not able to observe," he said. "I don't know who's doing what. That's my job.

“I couldn’t tell you if my shoes are on or off,” he added.

In a confessional, he shared that he feels responsible for his crew.

“There comes a point if a captain is really being objective, he should be putting the best interests of his crew first because that’s your primary responsibility,” Rosbach said. “As soon as you step on board, check your f---ing ego at the dock. That’s where you leave it.”

The next episode of "Below Deck" on Monday, Dec. 19 will reveal more about Lee's departure. After all, the captain still has yet to share who'll be taking the reins on his ship.

It's time to set sail on the largest boat in Below Deck history! Below Deck season 10 features the massive 197-foot superyacht St. David with Captain Lee, the "Stud of the Sea" at the helm. 

In the 10th season of the beloved Bravo franchise, the St. David calls the port of St. Lucia home. Captain Lee has two familiar faces with him this season in Chef Rachel Hargrove and Chief Stew Fraser Olender. Together they'll navigate a new crew.

Bravo has provided brief bios for the returning crew members as well as the newcomers. So let's get to know the cast of Below Deck season 10!

Captain Lee Rosbach

"Captain Harold Lee Rosbach has spent more than three decades in the yachting industry. Born and raised in landlocked Michigan, he discovered his untapped love for the water while managing restaurants in Turks & Caicos. It was then that an acquaintance invited him to serve as a mate on a sailboat delivery to earn extra cash. At 35, Lee obtained his captain's license and left the restaurant business behind to pursue his newfound passion. Since then, the Running Against The Tide author has commanded more than a dozen super yachts. Lovingly known as the 'Stud of the Sea,' Lee values the special bonds he forms on deck and always puts the safety of everyone on board above all else. Lee is excited to return to the Caribbean this season with familiar faces Chef Rachel Hargrove and Chief Stew Fraser Olender as he adjusts to new super yacht, St. David."

Rachel Hargrove, chef

"Originally from Tampa, Fla., Rachel Hargrove is a cosmopolitan yacht chef with an extensive repertoire of culinary skills. Although predominantly self-taught, Rachel attended the Culinary Institute of America and held an apprenticeship at the Michelin-starred restaurant Quatro Passi in Nerano, Italy. After spending time in Thailand, Japan, India and Italy to expand her craft, Rachel revels in her wide range of cuisines — from molecular gastronomy to gluten-free pasta, she is unphased by almost any charter guest preference sheet. A talented and experienced chef, Rachel admits her demanding professionalism can be polarizing to others. No matter their opinion, Rachel is always sure to stand her ground on deck."

Fraser Olender, chief stew 

"With a passion for luxury hospitality and travel, it was a no-brainer for Fraser to join the yachting industry four years ago. He got his start on a motor yacht in Naples, Italy, and has never looked back. Prior to yachting, Fraser worked in commercial bookings for leading model agencies in London. In the off-season, he loves to travel to picturesque destinations, staying at the world's finest hotels with the dream to one day open his own. Returning to the Caribbean to work under Captain Lee again, Fraser is thrilled to be chief stew on St. David. However, when the charter guests get too demanding, he must prove his worth as a department lead."

Ross McHarg, bosun 

"Leading the deck team this season is Bosun Ross McHarg. Originally from the UK, the British yachtie has spent the last 15 years living all over the world. Most recently, his travels have landed him in Asia, where he has set up base. Twelve years ago, Ross found yachting through teaching ski seasons in Europe and abandoned the snow for the sand without a second thought. With his love of travel and meeting new people, yachting was the perfect career move. A seasoned bosun, Ross brings experience and wisdom to his team, but his flirty ways get him in hot water with the crew."

Luis Antonio 'Tony' Duarte, deckhand 

"Originally from Costa Rica, deckhand Luis Antonio 'Tony' Duarte is no stranger to the seas. An adrenaline junkie, Tony has experience as a dive master in South Africa, whale-watching guide in Costa Rica and a zip-liner in the Bahamas. When he's not working in beautiful, remote locations, Tony enjoys surfing, fishing and cliff jumping. A man of nomadic nature with a passion for travel, Tony adventures from place to place but is looking forward to calling St. David his home for the charter season. With prior experience on smaller boats, Tony welcomes the challenge aboard his first super yacht." 

Ben Willoughby, deckhand 

"Born and raised on the Gold Coast of Australia, deckhand Ben Willoughby is a self-described 'ocean child at heart.' Inspired by a childhood friend's yachtie lifestyle, Ben first took to the high seas in 2020 when he joined a mega yacht crew in France. Combining his passion for fitness with his love of the water, Ben has worked as both a deckhand and personal trainer on yachts for the past three years. A social guy who firmly believes 'a Pina Colada is always a good decision,' Ben is eager to bring the party onboard. This thrill-seeking Aussie is determined to stand out on the deck of the St. David."

Hayley De Sola Pinto, stew 

"Hailing from Cornwall, England, charismatic new stew Hayley De Sola Pinto is excited to cruise the Caribbean waters. During most of the year, Hayley is an advanced aesthetics practitioner for her self-built business Classen Aesthetics. Her love of travel and meeting new people has led her to work on and off yachts since she was 23. With her humor and empathetic personality, Hayley specializes in making charter guests feel welcome and at home on St. David. However, her admittedly loud and over-the-top personality often gets her into the mix of drama onboard."

Katie Glaser, deckhand 

"Deckhand Katie Glaser first fell in love with the glamorous and fast-paced yachting industry when she moved from Colorado to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Since starting her boating career as a stew three years ago, Katie has built an extensive resume as a deckhand and first mate on a variety of yachts. While Katie has worked in different corporate fields, including IT recruiting, account management and beverage sales, she has always had an affinity for the service industry. Katie spends nearly as much time in the water as she does on it, being a fan of snorkeling, wakeboarding and swimming. Always up for an adventure, this extroverted yachtie is eager to prove she has what it takes."

Alissa Humber, stew 

"A born and bred Floridian, Alissa Humber found herself diving headfirst into yachting just over two years ago. Now residing in Miami, Alissa spends her time working as a stew on temporary yacht jobs. During the off season, Alissa loves to shop and is enamored by the gorgeous, colorful fashion in her city. She also embraces nature and enjoys kayaking or hiking in the Sunshine State. Working as a stew aboard St. David, Alissa prides herself on pleasing the charter guests and ensuring they have the best time onboard. However, when conflict emerges between her and another stew, tensions rise amongst the entire crew."

Camille Lamb, deckhand/stew 

"Coming from a family of merchant mariners, boating has always been in Camille’s blood. With sailing experience since she was 9, Camille is a natural-born yachtie with a love for the water, the beach and traveling. An avid singer and songwriter as well, Camille competed on American Idol last year. Upon her elimination, Camille found herself lost and returned to her roots on the water. With just her sailing experience from childhood, Camille secured a position on a day-charter yacht in the Virgin Islands. Since then, Camille has had more formal yachting training under her belt with work experience in Miami and Los Angeles. Camille joins St. David this season working both on deck and inside the yacht as a deck/stew, but when she's split between the two departments, she loses motivation on board."

Below Deck season 10 airs on Mondays on Bravo, with new episodes streaming on Peacock the next day in the US and on Hayu in the UK.

Below Deck: Captain Lee health update – Here’s how he’s doing now

Below Deck fan favorite Captain Lee Rosbach had to leave Season 10 of the hit yachting show early due to health issues, bringing up the question of how he’s doing today.

The OG captain struggled to film the show after having back surgery before production began.

Two charters into the season, Captain Lee shocked his crew with the news that he was leaving the board and not finishing out the season.

As his final episode plays out, Below Deck fans have been using social media to ask Captain Lee how he’s feeling all these months later.

Season 10 of Below Deck was filmed last winter, so let’s see how the stud of the sea’s doing now.

Captain Lee Rosbach’s health update

Thankfully Captain Lee has been doing much better lately. Following his announcement on-screen that he was leaving early, the captain spent time replying to fan messages about his health.

“I’m doing just fine, and getting better every day,” he replied to one user.

The beloved captain reiterated that sentiment when answering another Below Deck fan.

When Below Deck Season 10 kicked off, Captain Lee stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where he admitted his medical issues were much better.

TMZ caught a glimpse of just how well Captain Lee’s been doing when the outlet spotted him at the gym the other day. Captain Lee was in great form as he pumped some serious iron. According to the website, he was lifting 175 lbs while doing a chest press, and he didn’t seem to be struggling at all.

Captain Lee has been working hard with his doctors and specialists to recover from the surgery he had last year. It appears all the hard work has paid off.

Will Captain Lee return for Below Deck Season 11?

As Below Deck fans prepare for the rest of Below Deck Season 10 without Captain Lee, there’s already been rumblings about whether or not Captain Lee will return for Season 11. The good news is that the stud of the sea has reassured fans that he isn’t ready to quit the hit-yachting show just yet.

That’s good news unless, of course, Bravo or producers have decided to take the show in a new direction and replace Captain Lee. It would certainly cause outrage — especially as he literally launched the series.

There’s no indication that the network producers or Captain Lee have plans to make his early exit from the show a permanent one. Season 11 filming should begin in February, so the answer to whether or not Captain Lee Rosbach returns should be answered then.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. Seasons 1-9 are streaming on Peacock.

The beloved Below Deck star shocked his crew on the Bravo series' Dec. 12 episode by announcing he's leaving the mega yacht mid-season. Captain Lee's tough decision came amid an ongoing nerve problem affecting his ability to walk.

The health issue forced Lee to use crutches to get around the boat, which also affected his ability to do his job.

"I owe it to my crew to do right by them," he continued. "They expect that out of me. There comes a point if a captain is really being objective, he should be putting the best interests of his crew first."

Once the teamed wrapped another successful charter hosting a group of female doctors, Lee gathered his crew to update them on his health.

"As you guys know I've been struggling with my mobility," he said, "and it's been hard and I've let you guys down and for that I apologize. So I've made a decision to leave the boat."

The bombshell episode ended with a "to be continued" message, meaning fans will have to tune in next week for more details on Captain Lee's departure from the yacht.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

‘Below Deck’: Captain Lee Reacts to Reports He’s Exited Show

Is Captain Lee Rosbach disembarking the St. David yacht or not? That is the question surrounding the Below Deck star as reports circulate that the beloved sea captain is retiring from the Bravo reality series.

Rosbach seemingly bid farewell to each crew member on Monday’s (March 20) Season 10 finale. “I really hate to say goodbye to any of this crew. I would stack them up against anyone; I really would,” he said.

The beloved seadog continued to reminisce over a montage of his most memorable moments from the series. “Going on 40 years I’ve been a yacht captain, have I seen a lot of crazy s***?” he asked, noting, “Is a 40-pound robin fat? Yeah.”

“Have I been in situations that I didn’t think I was gonna make it through? Oh yeah,” he continued. “Deciding to become a yacht captain has been the best decision I have ever made in my life. I made a promise that I would come back, and that is a promise I delivered.”

“I don’t know what’s gonna happen in the future, but the ocean’s always gonna be part of me,” he concluded. “I’ve still got the best god d*** job in the world.”

Rosbach took a leave of absence early into filming for the tenth season due to health reasons, with Below Deck Mediterranean ‘s Captain Sandy Yawn taking his place. But he returned later in the season and resumed his position aboard the St. David.

Adding to the speculation of retirement is next week’s special of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen , which will see Rosbach sat on the sofa to celebrate 10 years of Below Deck . In the special, airing Monday, March 27, the Stud of the Sea will look back at all of his years spent yachting on the show.

Despite the reports, including one from Us Weekly that says Below Deck Adventure ‘s Captain Kerry will be taking over for Season 11, Rosbach himself has seemingly shot down the rumors of retirement.

When a fan tweeted, “Wait… so no more Captain Lee on Bravo?” Rosbach replied, “Who said that, not me.” He also responded to a People article about his supposed retirement, writing, “They didn’t talk to me about this piece.”

Below Deck: Why Captain Lee Isn’t Back for Season 11

Captain Lee Rosbach will miss Below Deck season 11, with Captain Kerry Titheradge replacing him on the show. Here's why.

When the hit reality series Below Deck returns to Bravo for season 11, it will do so without one of the yacht crew’s most cherished members: Captain Lee Rosbach, the Stud of the Sea. Taking the helm of the ship M/Y St. David as it sails the Caribbean is Captain Kerry Titheradge, who first debuted as the captain on spinoff series Below Deck Adventure . It’s a change that will undoubtedly take some viewers by surprise, especially as the new season will feature other returners from last season, including Chief Stew Fraser Olender and lead deckhand Ben Willoughby.

But we’ve actually known about this sea change for a while. In fact, it was announced at BravoCon 2023 that Captain Lee would be leaving the show after 11 years. Rumors quickly swirled regarding the reason for the captain’s departure from the series. Some speculated it had to do with Rosbach’s ongoing health issues, particularly a nerve problem that forced the captain to leave the ship midway through season 10, with Captain Sandy Yawn of Below Deck Med stepping in to replace him while he went for treatment.

“My injury is getting worse,” the captain said at the time in a confessional on the show. “The left side of my body, I don’t feel anything. I expected a lot more progress than I’m experiencing and the most frustrating part about it is I can’t do a goddamn thing about it. It’s hard.”

While Captain Lee did eventually return to finish off the charter season, he admitted he didn’t know what would be next for him in the season 10 finale: “I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future,” he said, “but the ocean’s always going to be part of me. I still got the best goddamn job in the world.”

Bravo’s statement at BravoCon didn’t specify whether Captain Lee quit the show or was fired. Rosbach set the record straight in an interview with Sun Sentinel , saying, “I did not quit. I did not retire. I was just not invited back… [The network and I] came to an agreement, and I’m going to be doing some things for them in the next year.” The captain also speculated on why Bravo came to the decision: “I guess I can see their point of view. They really couldn’t get a straight answer from anyone on how my health was.”

So, what’s next for the Stud of the Sea? According to Deadline , he’s jumping to true crime , with a new series on Oxygen called Deadly Waters , which “follows murders that take place in the open waters and oceans.” The show is in production as we speak.

But Rosbach hasn’t completely closed the door on a potential return to Below Deck down the line, saying it could all depend on how season 11 performs with viewers sans Stud: “Then, season 12? I can imagine they are going to see what happens with season 11, with somebody new trying to take over for me, see how they do. If it’s too expensive for them, we’ll see what happens. If the numbers take a tank, would I go back? Yeah.”

Speaking more recently with TV Insider, Captain Titheradge shared words of advice he received from Rosbach before he was announced as his replacement.

“During BravoCon I remember all us captains got together and did a Watch What Happens Live on the cruise ship,” Titheradge revealed. “I was chatting with Captain Lee at a time where there was no discussion about me taking over the franchise or anything at that point. My season hasn’t even aired yet. I felt uncomfortable because nobody knew who I was. He told me it comes down to just being yourself on TV.”

Below Deck season 11 premieres on Feb. 5 at 9 pm ET on Bravo.

Below Deck season 10 premiered on Bravo on Nov. 21 and Captain Lee Rosbach ‘s back with a new crew and the biggest boat yet. Superyacht St. David is a grander motor yacht than any other boat Captain Lee has commandeered before. Although My Seanna is Captain Lee’s favorite boat from the show, he’s also impressed by the biggest yacht St. David in Below Deck history. Here’s how St. David compares versus My Seanna.

“It’s a big boat. Calf muscles are going to be burning. It’s 197 feet, a 1,093 tons. The state rooms are bigger, the hallways are longer. We’ve got an extra deck, that’s another flight of stairs,” Captain Lee said about the new Below Deck season 10 motor yacht St. David.

How Biggest Yacht St. David Compare In Size To My Seanna From Below Deck Season 9

Motor yacht My Seanna from Below Deck seasons 6, 8, and 9 (Bravo).

Superyacht St. David actually isn’t a whole lot bigger than My Seanna, the superyacht used for entertaining charter guests Below Deck seasons 6, 8 and 9.

St. David is 197 feet long, compared to My Seanna’s 185 feet. However, the beam, or width of the boats, is significant. My Seanna, now renamed Starship, is 29.6 feet at its widest point while St. David’s beam is 34.1 feet. St. David gross tonnage is 969 tons (Captain Lee was a little off) versus My Seanna’s 703 tons. St. David is a little newer, built in 2008. My Seanna is 21 years-old, built in 2001.

St, David can also go faster at a max speed of 17 knots compared to My Seanna’s 15 knots. Both superyachts have 6 cabins for guests, but St. David can fit 14 crew members instead of 11. St. David has a dance floor, while My Seanna has a helipad.

St. David’s Water Toys Compared to My Seanna’s

Superyacht St. David is partly bigger so it can fit a bunch of water toys. The boat includes a Yamaha GP 1300 WaveRunner and one other jet ski, waterskis, two Cayago F7 SEABOBs , wakeboards, scuba diving equipment, kayaks, fishing gear, inflatable water toys, and two tenders. My Seanna only has one tender. St. David currently doesn’t offer a waterslide, so maybe the deck crew in Below Deck season 10 will be lucky.

How Much It Costs To Charter St. David Versus My Seanna

On Below Deck , charter guests pay less renting a yacht for a few days than a typical yacht charter. Chartering a yacht is typically a one-week trip. St. David costs $333,000 USD to charter for a week on the low seasons in summer and winter. On the high seasons, a charter on St. David will cost you a cool $354,000!

Perhaps motor yacht Starship (previously My Seanna) is more in your price range. A week chartering My Seanna is $275,000 throughout the summer season and the low season in winter. The high season in winter costs $315,000.

Here’s How Much It Costs To Rent The St. David Yacht On Below Deck Season 10

It is the largest yacht on the series to date.

As the latest boat to be featured on Below Deck Season 10, the St. David yacht is just as lavish — and pricey — as you’d expect. According to Boat International, it was created in 2008 as part of the Benetti fleet, and it’s the largest yacht to appear on Below Deck . The yacht itself is somewhat of a celebrity and has made appearances at the Cannes Film Festival while also sailing to locations like the Seychelles, Red Sea, and Abu Dhabi.

The boat was last sold in 2018 for an asking price of €22,500,000 (about $23,026,027). Currently, you can rent the St. David Yacht through Morley Yachts. A week-long rental is going to run you up €325,000 per week (about $383,514) plus expenses during low season. During high season, that price can go up to €345,000 ($407,115) a week.

In a preview video, he leads viewers through the main deck to a sundeck that has two “bunny pads” that host classes like yoga, boxing, and drinking sessions. “It’s truly a special place on board to be graced with,” he said.

Next is the jacuzzi, which Olender noted is the biggest he’s worked with so far. But he adds that his favorite place is the huge sky lounge, which lets in a lot of light and has a classical Baroque theme. Beyond that, the yacht features six rooms, which include a master suite and five cabins. It can hold a total of 12 guests, along with 14 crewmates.

There is certainly a number of fabulous living quarters, but below deck is, unsurprisingly, a lot less luxurious. “We absolutely have no space back here. The smallest pantry I’ve ever had to work,” he says, showing off a tiny room. “But it caters to all our needs, and we’ve just got to make due.” On the plus side, he notes that their crew mess room is “massive,” adding that he doesn’t get much time to spend there. Though, based on the Season 10 trailer , some crew drama is going to happen there.

As for Olender’s fellow crew members, they’ll all be led by Captain Lee as he sails the St. David around the waters of St. Lucia in the Caribbean. As Lee soon realizes, running a bigger boat means more crew members and a lot more problems. Olender has to navigate a major conflict between some of the stews as tensions heat up in the interior department. Meanwhile, chef Rachel Hargrove raises the bar on cuisine, but soon the pressure to maintain that workload starts to overwhelm her. And then there’s all the messy romance drama as Bosun Ross McHarg starts up several casual relationships with the other women on board.

Clearly, there’s a lot going on deck of the largest yacht on the series. So while you might not have the money to rent the St. David yourself, at least you can tune into its drama when Season 10 premieres on Nov. 21.

Below Deck alum Captain Lee Rosbach does not hold back his feelings on outrageous charter guest and former Real Housewife star Jill Zarin.

Jill Zarin, an iconic former Real Housewives of New York City star, faces more criticism for her behavior in Below Deck season 11, this time from Below Deck franchise alum Captain Lee Rosbach , who said her attitude as a charter guest " stunk ." Jill is often known for making memorable appearances on television, with her most well-known TV job being The Real Housewives of New York City . Jill's recent shenanigans included constantly giving the interior and exterior crew members " helpful tips " on how they could be doing things much better in Below Deck season 11 , which cast her in a negative light.

Now a beloved alum of the Below Deck franchise, Captain Lee , has stated on his podcast Salty with Captain Lee that the crew had a tough week because " they had Jill Zarin on. " Captain Lee has been known to say it like it is, and he was not shy about his feelings regarding Jill's actions towards the crew and her expectations.

One of the things that Jill complained about almost immediately was the lack of toiletries available in the bathroom, to which Captain Lee responded, " I wonder if she brought some deodorant for her attitude because it sure as hell stunk. "

Jill's appearance in Below Deck season 11 has been controversial, to say the least , with some members of the crew defending her behavior, including Barbie Pascual, and others like Captain Lee saying Jill's behavior is appalling. Barbie has stated publicly that the things Jill asked for were actually " pretty logical, " but Captain Lee strongly disagreed with Barbie. He acknowledged Barbie's comments, but stated, " The only thing I know is the camera doesn’t lie. " However, Captain Lee does feel bad for the amount of negativity and criticism that Jill has received after being on Below Deck.

Captain Lee was frustrated with the RHONY alum, especially when, in the very beginning, Jill had a complaint about the type of ice cubes being used for her beloved Diet Coke , saying, " So, f*** it, drink your Diet Coke hot. I don’t give a s***. " Captain Lee also explained that, yes, chartered yachts generally do have extra toiletries on hand for guests, but he said that having toiletries available on the shelves is a " tacky look ." Jill had explained that on the yacht her friend owned, they had a drawer in the bathroom filled with any kind of toiletry they would need.

Jill's behavior was a shock to the system for the crew members who were inundated with unwanted advice and tips on how they could be doing better. This became such an issue that Captain Kerry Titheradge had to remind the interior crew and the chef that Jill was not, in fact, the primary charter guest and that their attention and efforts should be directed solely on the primary guest. Captain Lee strongly agreed with this directive from Captain Kerry and even went so far as to say that those who are not the primary guests are on their own.

When people spend an enormous amount of money to take a lavish vacation, they are going to expect a high level of service. The men and women who work both inside and outside on these mega yachts are no strangers to random and elaborate requests by guests, and they generally do their best to accommodate them. However, when a person constantly nags and complains, even if it is meant with good intent, it can get in their heads and cause them to become distracted and make mistakes. It will be interesting to see how the crew handles their future guests.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo and can be streamed the following day on Peacock.

The Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is 18 miles from the heart of Moscow, close to historical monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries. Designed by famed architects Paul and Dave Thomas , this 18-hole course is part of a complex that includes a yacht club, an equestrian center, and a health and wellness facility. Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is Russia’s version of a classic country club with multiple attractions.

Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club

This park is among the best in Eastern Europe and was awarded the 2014 World Golf Award as the best golf course in Russia. Located 25 miles from Moscow, it is part of a vast complex featuring an 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus , a polo club and a mountain ski club with four tracks. The design combines classic Scottish, Alpine, and English features in a dreamy landscape.

Less than 60 miles from Moscow, this golf course with a definite Scottish design is the only one in Russia recognized as a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) from Britain and Ireland. Located in an ecologically pristine area on the banks of the Volga River, the Zavidovo Golf Club embodies the spirit and appearance of the legendary Scottish golf courses. Its many springs and streams, hills, forests, swamps and lakes justify its reputation as a very demanding circuit. Last year, it entered the exclusive club of the 15 best golf courses in the world.   ■

“Breakfast & Lunch among friends”

The Breakfast Club has been a locally-owned Moscow breakfast staple for 12 years. The food is delicious, and the portions are appropriate (not gigantic). They have stuffed biscuits and gravy which is biscuits cut in half with eggs and bacon in the middle, covered in in-house made sausage gravy. If you are ever in Moscow in the wee hours of the morning, this is the place to stop!!!
