The 49.2m/161'5" motor yacht 'Alexander Again' was built by Mondo Marine in Italy at their Savona shipyard. Her interior is styled by Italian designer design house Mondo Marine and she was delivered to her owner in July 2011. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Studio Vafiadis.

Alexander Again

The 49.20m motor yacht ALEXANDER AGAIN was the second to be custom-built by Mondomarine at their Savona shipyard for the same Owner, thus confirming His appreciation for the shipyard construction skills.

Delivered in July 2011, she was the 60th luxury motor yacht to bear the prestigious brand of the exclusive Italian shipyard. The overall exterior look is unobtrusive but recognizable and stylish with simple lines marking the contours of her silhouette. However, as toned down and subtle as ALEXANDER AGAIN hull design might seem, underneath it all she boasts a wonderfully luxurious and dramatic interior that showcases a great sense of grandeur and class.

Upon boarding this magnificent yacht, her overall majestic style can firstly be experienced in the spacious main saloon comprising a lounging section and a luxurious set-up for the dining area almost entirely in a palette of black, white and gold. This palette sets the tone for general interior style onboard. Modern yet playfully shaped furniture ooze comfort and ample space for the guests, whose cabins are on the lower deck.

The large owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, is accessed through a small library and is furnished in the same luxurious style as the rest of the yacht. The master cabin furniture is inspired by the original collection of André-Charles Boulle for Versailles and its large window frames are decorated with gold silk drapes.

Fully built in light aluminium alloy, she has a semi-displacement hull and is powered by 2 MTU 16V4000M90 diesel engines capable of a top speed of 22 knots and comfortably cruising at 18.5 knots. At the economy cruising speed of 12 knots, the yacht has a range of 3,500 nautical miles, offering high level of comfort on board even during difficult environmental conditions.

The 49m motor yacht Alexander Again was custom-built by Mondomarine and delivered in July 2011, she was the 60th luxury motor yacht from Mondomarine. In 2021, she passed a 10 year annual survey, she is in perfect condition and ready for the next owner. While the exterior of Alexander Again has a simple and recognizable design, its interior is luxurious and dramatic, showcasing grandeur and class. The main saloon is spacious and exudes a majestic style. It comprises a lounging section and a dining area, primarily decorated in black, white, and gold. The interior style throughout the yacht follows this palette.  The interior configuration of Alexander Again can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. It includes a master suite, 2 VIP staterooms, 1 double cabin, 1 twin cabin and an office convertible to a sixth cabin. The yacht is also equipped to accommodate up to 11 crew members, ensuring a relaxed luxury yacht experience. The owner's suite is situated forward on the main deck and is accessed through a small library. It is furnished in a luxurious style consistent with the rest of the yacht. The master cabin's furniture is inspired by the original collection of André-Charles Boulle for Versailles, and its large window frames are adorned with gold silk drapes. The vessel's sundeck maximizes every square meter of space while still providing a spacious and comfortable atmosphere. The Mondo Marine Italian yard is very proud of his 50m Alexander Again Superyacht – she’s the second yacht ordered by the same owner, who in this way demonstrates his appreciation and respect for the yard’s building skills, and she is also the 60th yacht with the brand’s mark. Built entirely of aluminium, Alexander Again superyacht boasts a length of 49.15 metres and a 9-metre beam. Her external lines are designed by Greek architect  Giorgio Vafiadis .

The design of the interiors and all the external spaces on Alexander Again yacht was handled by the Florentine architect Luca Dini (in collaboration with Silvia Margutti and Gabriele Tartarelli, members of his team).

The main deck layout creates a roomy saloon in two sections – a space for chatting and social interaction, and a dining area.

The kitchen is on the port side, while the spacious full-beam owner’s suite is to starboard.

The decks are linked by the guest staircase and three ma rble-floo red lobb ies,  each featuring small but precious works of art. The lower deck, however, is the doma in of the guests alone. There are 4 cabins – two VIPs aft and two guest cabins forward, one double and the other a twin room with extra bunk bed. The upper deck boasts a second saloon, and is also the setting for the owner’s office.

The overall interior style is ma jestic, imposing and com plete, playing off the brilliantly glossy black lacquer and rosewood against gold and silver leaf and mirrors, drawing inspiration from the striking contrast of dark and light. The impact is enhanced by moulding, bas-reliefs and cornices that emphasise the effects and spaces. All the freestanding pieces the owner specified for the interiors throughout the yacht are characterised by rare materials and refined finishes in a highly original display of styles and reinterpretations.

The main deck saloon is divided into two areas by a rosewood unit, and aft of this two generous sofas follow the curve of the wall furnishings.

The large dining table forward can seat ten guests on rosewood, leather and velvet chairs with gold leaf trim.

The bright, airy owner’s suite is accessed through a small library, and is furnished with a sofa to port and armchairs to starboard. The forward bulkhead is almost entirely mirrored, and a commode and bedside tables inspired by the original collection by André-Charles Boulle for Versailles complete the interiors. The decorative gold silk drapes fall to the floor, framing the wide windows like stage curtains. Two dressing tables flank the large bathroom.

The upper deck saloon opens out onto the exterior through the grand aft doorway. Here there is a bar with two stools, a sumptuous corner sofa, intimate conversation area with two armchairs and a small table. Two symmetrical bookcases frame two paintings and other precious objects.

A desk and chair stand in the owner’s office, along with a sofa-bed, small table and a specially designed display cabinet for precious porcelain items. The bathroom, finished in the same way as all the others in the accommodation area, makes this a comfy, independent cabin.

The ba throom interiors are notable for the contrast between light and dark. In an echo of the office bathroom, the lower deck bathrooms feature five select marbles, white onyx and five black marbles. The gold and silver leaf moulding and the style of the furnishings allow each of these spaces to harmonise with the cabin it serves. Large glazed surfaces make the shower-bath space unique, and an almost uninterrupted mirrored expanse creates a kaleidoscope of interior views. The glass shower doors are embellished with an interwoven serigraph pattern.

Only in the owner’s cab in does the use of white onyx and Egypt ian alabaster invert this theme, hosting a beautiful mosaic panel, made on the owner’s request by Bisazza to reproduce Gustav Klimt’s Danae.

All the service and crew areas are skilfully laid out. Laundry, crew mess and ten berths are located on the lower deck. An independent staircase connects all these to the galley and pantry area on the main deck, and then the upper deck pantry, radio room, helm and skipper’s cabin and bathroom.

The external areas are comfortable and very well-equipped, the furnishings finished and designed with the same care and attention as the interiors. A comfortable lounge with sofa and four armchairs is located on the aft main deck, while the upper deck offers a deep sofa, bar, large round table for ten with Lazy Susan and another conversation area and sunpad forward. The flybridge has an unusual configuration with a large open-air saloon split into three zones.

To aft, there is an opulently cushioned sunpad with an ottoman/table. Then amidships there is a dining area beneath the roll bar, sheltered forward by a sliding glass screen that makes it perfect for both day and night-time use. Finally there is the forward bar and conversation area – plus a lovely hydromassage pool with glass steps, embraced by a sunpad. Shading systems protect all these spaces.

The lights from the Baldi Home Jewels collection, customised and sometimes specially redesigned to fit on board, add a further touch of magic to the interiors.

Fabric chosen are silk velvets by Manuel Canovas in strong, distinctive hues and Loro Piana silks – lustrous fabrics that enhance light and colours. Every sofa and bed is adorned by richly finished cushions.

Like all the yard’s most recent yachts, the structural, hydrodynamic and technical elements of this 50-metre semi-displacement model were designed by Mondo Marine Engineering. Powered by a pair of 2,735hp MTUs, Alexander Again yacht can reach a top speed of 20 knots while offering exceptional on-board comfort, even when pushing the limit!

Mondo Marine designs, engineers and builds its craft at its Savona construction centre. The yard is located on the sea front and occupies over 35,000 square metres, 9,500 of which are under cover. Wharves stretching over 100 metres in length can accommodate maxi yachts. Facilities include an 820-ton travel lift, one of the largest in the Mediterranean, and a 300-ton cra¬dle. We are currently constructing new warehouses and will soon begin restructuring our offices. Founded in 1978 by the Stroppiani brothers, Ferruccio and Elio Stroppiana, the company initially fo¬cused on the production of medium-sized yachts. In the early 1990s Mondo Marine began building light alloy and steel superyachts over 40m. They are all totally custom, because every yacht is a unique, irreplaceable piece. Ferruccio and Elio Stroppiana describe the Mondo Marine philosophy as “From a drawing on a sheet of paper to the finished vessel”. They go on to say, “All MONDO MARINE builds begin with sheer emotion. The result of our work is always shaped by the owner’s demands, and we find a way to turn his or her dreams into reality. Creating a yacht’s interiors is a little like clothing a person – its owner, in fact!” Mondo Marine is part of the MONDO S.p.A. group.

For those looking to make a step up in the 70-foot range, Worth Avenue Yachts has Forever Intrepid , a 2016 Ocean Alexander 72, listed at $2.695 million. 

Boat owners Michael and Jeanne Wilkins could be the inspiration for the next owner of this 2016 Ocean Alexander 72 for sale. The cruising couple, who owned 30- to 40-foot boats, worked their way up to their own Ocean Alexander 72, Yachting previously reported . “They started looking at Ocean Alexander 68s. Their broker suggested they build new instead. “I said, ‘Gosh, we’d never order a new boat. That’s just not going to happen,’” Michael recalls. “This past winter, in Seattle, they took delivery of their Ocean Alexander 72. It was customized with the galley layout Jeanne preferred, the open flybridge steps Michael wanted and a redesigned flybridge layout for dinner parties.”

The motoryacht’s Evan K. Marshall-designed interior has a warm ambiance throughout thanks to rich satin finishes, light neutral tones and natural light from an array of windows. Entering the salon through the sliding glass door, there is an L-shaped sofa to starboard and lounge chair forward. An L-shaped bar forward and to starboard makes serving guests at happy hour seamless.

Past the forward bulkhead and up a few steps is the pilothouse, which has the galley to starboard, L-shaped dinette to port and helm station forward. The lower helm station has a single helm chair. A pantograph door to starboard offers side-deck access, a nice touch for owner-operators or when shorthanded cruising. The galley has a Kenyon electric cooktop and an array of JennAir appliances, including, an electric oven, a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a microwave.

There are two major outdoor entertainment spaces on board Forever Intrepid : A dining area in the cockpit and a two-person sun pad on the foredeck. For those who want to change up the scenery, launch the 14-foot Novurania tender via the 1,500-pound davit on the flybridge and any beach, sandbar or shoreside eatery are within reach. The forward section of the all-weather-capable flybridge has an isinglass enclosure. The two-seat helm station is forward with a wet bar abaft and to port and an L-shaped dinette to starboard.

There are three staterooms belowdecks, including a full-beam master stateroom amidships with private access via salon stairs to port. Amenities include a king berth, a 46-inch flat-screen TV, and an en suite head. Forward, the forepeak VIP has a centerline queen berth and an en suite head. The third guest stateroom has over-under berths, making it a great space when the kids are in tow.

Forever Intrepid has a 24-knot top hop and an 18-knot cruise speed thanks to twin 1,150 hp Caterpillar C18 diesels. The engines currently have 1,369 hours on them.
