Situated along the west coast approximately 7 km from the Port Dickson town centre. Built as a social and family club as early as 1927, the Royal PD Yacht Club has a beautiful and long history that predates the Second World War.

Before the 1950s, it was a simple yet fun place for friends and family members to gather for an evening of fun. However, as sailing grew in popularity in the fifties, it was inevitable for the club to add a yachting section.

And thus, it became known as the Port Dickson Club and Yacht Club. One of the earliest members, Mr. R.B. Perkins, who had lots of interest in sailing along with other sporting activities, helped popularise the club and membership skyrocketed to over 400 in that era!

As the years went by, the club continued to thrive and grow with more facilities added while continuous renovations and upgrades helped the place keep up with modern times.

Then, in 1987, the club was renamed the Port Dickson Yacht Club and gained its ‘Royal’ status in 1991.

So, deep history aside, here are several things you can do at the club:

#1 sports activities to keep the body healthy.

There are loads of activities you can enjoy at this club including:

• Sailing: They have coaching every weekend and racing on Sundays. There are also dinghies and optimists for hire.
• Canoeing: For those who like a more manual approach, then get yourselves a canoe and row about the Straits of Malacca.
• Tennis: They have four synthetic grass courts ready for you to smash out like Roger Federer or Serena Williams.
• Cricket: They have a cricket nets with synthetic wicket for batting and bowling.
• Swimming: They’ve got a 75’ x 25’ pool plus a kiddies’ pool for the little ones!
• Squash : If you dream of becoming the next Dato’ Nicole David, then practice in one of their two courts.

Royal Port Dickson Yacht Club

Situated along the west coast approx. 7 kilometers from the Port Dickson town centre, the Port Dickson Club was founded in 1927 and amalgamated with the Yacht Club in 1957. The Club was renamed Port Dickson Yacht Club in 1987. The Royal status was conferred on the Club by the State Ruler on 2nd March 1991.

With the Club’s early past somewhat in obscurity and having no proper documented evidence, it is difficult to really outline its humble beginnings. However, from pieces of information gathered from various sources, it is said that the present Port Dickson Yacht Club was originally sited in the town area. Known as the Port Dickson Club then, is was rebuilt in 1927, on the present plot of land, which was purchased from Harrison and Crossfields. This was initiated, presumably, by a band of die-hard Clubbers from the ranks of the Planting Industry and Army. Its first President was Mr. Fred Cunningham – a man renowned for his contributions to this town.

Developed basically as a social and family Club, which it still is today, it was the meeting place of the ‘old masters’ or Colonialists. Certainly, it was they who brought clubbing to this region. One can well imagine the scene of the small group of members then, sitting around and exchanging views over drinks of Whisky soda, Gin tonic or the then popular Tiger beer. The presence of the sea revived the spirits of a few old sailors, and that was how sailing came into the picture.

Port Dickson

Port Dickson , or PD to locals, is a beach and holiday destination situated about 32 km from Seremban and 90 km from Kuala Lumpur. It is located in the state of Negeri Sembilan in Peninsular Malaysia.  Port Dickson is where Platinum Charters operates from as most of our yachts are berthed at Admiral Marina Yacht Club  as it has good dock facilities for yacht travellers, sailboats and luxury cruisers.

Full Day Charters(private and corporate) and Sunset Cruises are our most popular charters in Port Dickson.

Our normal routing for Day Charters will have a great view of  Cape Rachado Lighthouse . This lighthouse was built in 1528 before being remodelled over the years to its current look. It is originally built by the Portuguese in colonial time to guide its ship, while the area of sea in front of it is where a historical battle between Dutch and Portuguese forces took place. Lastly, don’t miss Blue Lagoon which is a hideaway with beautiful views of the Straits of Malacca. If the sea is calm, we will anchor off Blue Lagoon and our Chef on board would have prepared lunch by then. All varieties of water sport activities can be pursued here including para sailing, banana boat ride, jet skiing, speed boating, wind surfing and canoeing.

Avillion is without a doubt one of the top class hotels in Port Dickson. It has a great and well maintained private beach, great staff to support, excellent facilities, and some great housekeeping. When we entered the lobby we saw a picture frame saying that it was one of the top luxury boutique hotels in the world, so that raised our expectations. We were booked into a water challet but i had called the hotel a few hours prior to arrival and requested for a room furthest into the sea. Then they stated that it's only possible in premium challets which i had not booked for. I said they can just give me the best in plain water challet category of rooms. When we checked in the front desk person said that they have upgraded me to a premium water challet because i had asked for a room furthest into the water. And the room was great. We needed housekeeping on some of the electrical fitings which was the only hiccup we faced, but it was resolved quickly and efficiently. Overall great staff, great service and highly recommended. Infact, you should go to Port Dickson to just experience Avillion - it has a history of its own and is a tourist spot in itself.

We had a quick getaway from KL and Port Dickson seems to be a perfect choice. One hour drive from KL to hit the beach. Last minute booking with Agoda on the day before check-in went flawless. Check-in was quick despite a busy weekend. Room was very clean. We had little problem with A/C which was not chilling but the temperature wasn't very warm. Ceiling fan helped without having to request to change the room. The setting of the hotel was nice near a yatch club. Breakfast was okay although not great. No Wi-Fi in room but working okay in restaurant. LAN cable provided (need to deposit RM10 at check-in counter) did not work but we spent most of the time outside anyway. Swimming pool was busy at the time and it's more of a relax dip pool for family than a lap pool for me to have a serious exercise. Overall, it's a great value for money with the price on Agoda. It's not far to drive to newly opened PD Waterfront what has lots of shops and restaurants.

Walking distance to KFC and other food stalls/ restaurants Staffers- friendly and helpful. 5 stars Room (4 people)- room is spacious and clean, the bathroom/toilet is very small, obese people will have difficulties to shower, but for normal/average size people, just nice. Aircond, TV and hot shower are in good conditions. Swimming Pool- small but just nice. At least they have pool 😊 Breakfast- The best. Variety of food and taste delicious. Overall, I am really happy and satisfied with Hotel Seri Malaysia PD.

i stayed for 3 night,bring along my baby and my mom.there were 4 restaurants walking distance,warung salai(kampung food),kafe hijauan(fried food),dapur berasap(western) and mhk burger.there were also self service laundry and 7-11 in front of the hotel. hotel staffs were friendly and helpful.everyday they will do the housekeeping.the elevator a bit slow but still functional.as a breastfeeding mom,they will let you keep your milk in the chiller at the reception.and 7-11 will let you keep your ice pack in their freezer.it was a pleasant stay overall.
