Captain Findlay : Growing up with a father who introduced him to sailing at a young age, Findlay developed a deep love and respect for the sea. This early exposure ignited a passion, and he eagerly pursued opportunities to further his knowledge and expertise in the maritime field. At the age of 18, he successfully obtained his Yachtmaster Offshore qualification, which laid the foundation for his career on the water. After working in the Mediterranean for three years, he knew had a true passion for being at sea and sharing the incredible experiences with others. This role allowed him to lead groups of guests on unforgettable sailing adventures, ensuring their safety, providing exceptional customer service, and enhancing their overall experience. Moving onto motor yachts, Findlay expanded his skills and tried a different life on the water, which only solidified the fact the sailing is the only thing for him! Growing up traveling through Europe in a van with her parents, she always loved the idea of living on the road. After studied an arts degree she left Scotland to explore the globe. Moving to Australia and getting her first job in a kitchen there was no turning back, she began her journey cooking across the world. In 2017 starting her yachting career and qualifying as a Scuba Diving instructor in Honduras, sailing became her full-time life. Traveling across 60 countries, and sailing in some untouched and remote corners, including Tahiti and Fiji, the British Virgin Islands has always had her heart. Cara passion for food sparked from creativity, adventure and culture. She loves to bring in elements of local culture, and produce into her dishes, and get creative with flavors, plating and table scaping! Cara is a nutritionist and loves to make sure her food is as equally nourishing as delicious, as well as making sure we are eating sustainably and protecting our planet. Her favorite thing about living and cooking on a yacht is that you can catch something fresh and get it straight on the grill, it doesn’t get much better than that. Spending every day on the water, whether it is above or below sea level, is what keeps that smile on her face! She’s now spent two seasons on the islands and doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon.

Cpt Keith and Jessa, Thank you for sailing with the Jacobs family! We loved seeing St John and St Thomas in a new way! We had epic sea life. Whales! Sharks, turtles, an ell, spotted eagle rays and all the fish. Highs scuba dive the ship wreck, unexpected whales, urtles, playing cards, fancy presentation of chick fil a sauce, fishing, remora poop :|, amazing food and surprise desserts. Lows: National Parks (oliver) [he just wanted to fish!!], sunburn and having to leave and return to the US :(. Thank you both for an amazing week - best trip ever! ´Dear Keith and Jessa Thank you for a wonderful adventure this week. We were rookies to the boating/sailing/yachting world and all of our expectations were wildly exceeded. Travelling with 4 young children is always unpredictable and you both went well out of your way to accommodate and engage each one of the kids in their own special way. As much as all the sails, scenery and activities were amazing and breathtaking, the deep talks, laughs and conversations were equally enjoyable. We never once went hungry and meals and snacks (both for kids & adults) were delicious and seemed to be catered specifically for us always! I Can´t Think Of A Single Place I´d Rather Be

Being newbies to the whole sailing deal, we really had no idea what to expect. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be a huge understatement. Yacht charter

Catamaran Koru, a Catana 49, is available for up to 6 guests in the Caribbean Virgin Islands. Koru comes equipped with every comfort needed for a world class sailing charter and boasts a huge amount of open space. Watch movies under the stars on the huge, cushioned foredeck, eat breakfast on the flybridge, lunch in the forward lounge and dinner as the sun sets in the spacious outdoor saloon. Three large queen sized cabin, each with their own en suite bathroom as well as walk around beds.

Koru was, unsurprisingly, awared Best in Show for the under 50' yachts at the VIPCA Yacht Show 2023.

Crew Gratuity: Although discretionary, a crew gratuity of 20% of the charter fee is customary.

The best pictures of Koru

In 2022, the 125.8-metre sailing yacht Koru made history when she hit the water at Oceanco ’s Alblasserdam facilities. Now successfully delivered, she is the flagship of the Oceanco fleet and the largest Dutch-built yacht in the world.

Koru unable to dock in Florida

Koru arrived at Port Everglades, Florida in November 2023 following a months-long Mediterranean cruise that included stopovers in Dubrovnik, Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer and Calabria (according to BOATPro ). The sailing yacht was too large to anchor in the nearby marina, which has a maximum capacity of 121.9 metres. She was photographed instead docking next to a 297-metre cruise ship named Rhapsody of the Seas .

Last summer, Koru was spotted in the French Riveria alongside her 75-metre support vessel Abeona . Delivered by Damen Yachting two months before the mothership, Abeona is equipped with a helipad and hangar for a D14 value helicopter– which is clearly being put to good use. Accommodation is for up to 45 people onboard Bezos' support vessel, including crew, guests and other specialist staff.

Koru and Abeona also travelled to Portofino in the summer of 2023, with both Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez sighted enjoying lunch and taking photographs while on board. 

Koru's figurehead

Throughout construction, it was difficult to get a glimpse of the details on board Koru ; but once handed over, all of her traditional features could be admired up close. As well as the intricate gold paintwork and scarlet bootstripe, the yacht also features an elaborate figurehead made of polished wood. The woman is wearing a necklace with a symbol in the pendant, which some have speculated could be the Māori symbol meaning "koru".

After delivery, the schooner spent some time enjoying the waters of Mallorca. The Balearic hotspot is a magnet for superyachts during the Mediterranean season, but Koru had the quiet anchorage largely to herself after leaving the Oceanco shipyard. Her classic lines could be appreciated in all of their glory against the backdrop of Palma Cathedral.

In April 2023. Koru was delivered and undertook her maiden voyage from the Netherlands to Gibraltar. She then headed onwards to Palma, giving the world a first glimpse of her cascading aft decks, mighty masts and elaborate aft deck pool arrangement. She was flying solo in Mallorca, but was later joined by support vessel Abeona .

Following her successful sea trials in Rotterdam, Koru embarked on journey to Palma, Mallorca that involved an overnight anchorage in Gibraltar. The sailing yacht was sighted passing through the Strait of Gibraltar a second time on her cross-continental journey from the Mediterranean to the USA in November 2023.

Koru was spotted departing from Rotterdam in the early morning light of February 13 to begin sea trials. The 125.8-metre Oceanco set sail across the North Sea to put her performance to the test after hitting the water for the first time in August 2022. The traditional three-masted schooner yacht has a midnight blue hull, traditional canoe stern and the unique addition of a chair at the very tip of the bowsprit. Her name represents the idea of life’s perpetual movement and is a Māori word closely related to that of an unfurling leaf.

The yacht was seen for the first time in her final form on the dock in the Port of Rotterdam. Her trio of masts was stepped here to avoid having to dismantle any bridges to allow the Oceanco giant yacht to pass under. The maximum height of the bridge is 70 metres; the masts on Koru are thought to measure between 65 and 85 metres. The first images of Koru indicate the yacht will have plenty of features for her owner to enjoy, including an aft deck pool and a large, uncluttered sundeck.

Koru launched

The 125.8-metre yacht was moved from Oceanco’s primary facilities at the crack of dawn to enter the final stages of construction. The hull was transported via Dordrecht and Spijkenisse (Oude Maas), and her masts were transported separately via the slightly shorter Rotterdam Centre (Nieuwe Maas).

Before she hit the water, the hull of Koru was loaded onto a transport vessel and she made the journey through the Dutch canals for further construction work. The yacht was captured against the backdrop of the quaint Dutch countryside, revealing her classic-looking lines and long rows of windows.

As she was wheeled out of the shed into the light of day, yacht-spotters were able to get their first proper aerial shot of the yacht, without her masts.

When Oceanco completed the work on the hull, the yacht was rolled out of the shed to reveal a crisp navy hull and white superstructure. Koru ’s exterior design immediately drew a comparison to Lürssen’s 93-metre sailing yacht Eos , which was designed by US-based Langan Design . This was the world’s first sighting of the already iconic superyacht.

Cara was born and raised in Edinburgh. Growing up traveling through Europe in a van with her parents, she always loved the idea of living on the road. After studied an arts degree she left Scotland to explore the globe. Moving to Australia and getting her first job in a kitchen there was no turning back, she began her journey cooking across the world. In 2017 starting her yachting career and qualifying as a Scuba Diving instructor in Honduras, sailing became her full-time life. Traveling across 60 countries, and sailing in some untouched and remote corners, including Tahiti and Fiji, the British Virgin Islands has always had her heart.

Cara passion for food sparked from creativity, adventure and culture. She loves to bring in elements of local culture, and produce into her dishes, and get creative with flavors, plating and table scaping! Cara is a nutritionist and loves to make sure her food is as equally nourishing as delicious, as well as making sure we are eating sustainably and protecting our planet. Her favorite thing about living and cooking on a yacht is that you can catch something fresh and get it straight on the grill, it doesn’t get much better than that. Spending every day on the water, whether it is above or below sea level, is what keeps that smile on her face! She’s now spent two seasons on the islands and doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon.

Koru comes equipped with every comfort needed for a world class sailing charter and boasts a huge amount of open space unrivalled by any cruising catamaran in its size range. Layout is three large queen sized staterooms each with separate toilets and showers as well as walk around beds.

On decks there is a forward sunbathing lounge area and a great flybridge. The cockpit and lounge blend seamlessly with an opening “wall” and windows that make a wonderful outdoor salon area. Watch movies under the stars on the huge, cushioned foredeck, eat breakfast on the flybridge, lunch in the forward lounge and dinner as the sun sets in the spacious outdoor saloon.

Our personal opinion

Why book Koru – WATER ACTIVITIES – There is a great selection of water toys onboard Koru and easy access to the water from the rear of the yacht.  Koru also has great outdoor space.  There is a lovely forward cockpit which is perfect for that early morning coffee, an upstairs flybridge and also a comfortable shaded cockpit for outdoor dining.

Rendezvous diving

If your crewed charter yacht does not offer onboard diving then fear not, rendezvous diving can be arranged.

So what is Rendezvous diving?

A local dive company will pick you up direct from your charter yacht at a pre-determined location and take you for a one- or two-tank dive to experience the BVI below the water. This is an excellent option if only a couple of guests wish to dive or can work equally as well if all your group are interested. If your charter yacht offers minimal onboard diving, then rendezvous diving can also work if you wanted to add a few more dives during your charter.

Rendezvous diving is at additional cost, payable locally. The dive company provides all gear.

In 2017 starting her yachting career and qualifying as a Scuba Diving instructor in Honduras, sailing became her full-time life. Traveling across 60 countries, and sailing in some untouched and remote corners, including Tahiti and Fiji, the British Virgin Islands has always had her heart. Cara passion for food sparked from creativity, adventure and culture. She loves to bring in elements of local culture, and produce into her dishes, and get creative with flavors, plating and table scaping! Cara is a nutritionist and loves to make sure her food is as equally nourishing as delicious, as well as making sure we are eating sustainably and protecting our planet. Her favorite thing about living and cooking on a yacht is that you can catch something fresh and get it straight on the grill, it doesn’t get much better than that. Spending every day on the water, whether it is above or below sea level, is what keeps that smile on her face! She’s now spent two seasons on the islands and doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon.

In 2017 starting her yachting career and qualifying as a Scuba Diving instructor in Honduras, sailing became her full-time life. Traveling across 60 countries, and sailing in some untouched and remote corners, including Tahiti and Fiji, the British Virgin Islands has always had her heart. <br /> <br /> Cara passion for food sparked from creativity, adventure and culture. She loves to bring in elements of local culture, and produce into her dishes, and get creative with flavors, plating and table scaping! Cara is a nutritionist and loves to make sure her food is as equally nourishing as delicious, as well as making sure we are eating sustainably and protecting our planet. Her favorite thing about living and cooking on a yacht is that you can catch something fresh and get it straight on the grill, it doesn’t get much better than that. He has a passion for Free diving and Scuba Diving. James says the underwater world is full of amazing experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life!<br /> <br /> Captain James loves to stay active and busy but also understands the need to relax. Chilling by the beach, having a drink at the bar and watching the beautiful sunset is a great way to recharge the mind! <br /> <br /> Cara was born and raised in Edinburgh. Growing up traveling through Europe in a van with her parents, she always loved the idea of living on the road. After studied an arts degree she left Scotland to explore the globe. Moving to Australia and getting her first job in a kitchen there was no turning back, she began her journey cooking across the world. In 2017 starting her yachting career and qualifying as a Scuba Diving instructor in Honduras, sailing became her full-time life. Traveling across 60 countries, and sailing in some untouched and remote corners, including Tahiti and Fiji, the British Virgin Islands has always had her heart. <br /> <br /> Cara passion for food sparked from creativity, adventure and culture. She loves to bring in elements of local culture, and produce into her dishes, and get creative with flavors, plating and table scaping! Cara is a nutritionist and loves to make sure her food is as equally nourishing as delicious, as well as making sure we are eating sustainably and protecting our planet. Her favorite thing about living and cooking on a yacht is that you can catch something fresh and get it straight on the grill, it doesn’t get much better than that. Presented by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht KORU is a 49 ft sailing catamaran. The most attractive features of KORU are her well-chosen interiors and alfresco dining areas. KORU spends the summer and winter season in US Virgin Islands. She was constructed by the ship builder Catana in 2021. The spacious yacht layout features 3 large cabins and comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests.

KORU is offered primarily as a sailing catamaran. The the core layout is spread out from the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is where heart of the yacht is and that's where most of the delicious meals are served. James had his first sail in 2015 in Hartlepool U.K. where there is a small yacht club and regatta community of private boaters whom he crewed with for fun as a hobby. In 2017, James decided to quit his office job and become a professional Yacht Captain. Since then he has chartered and sailed on the eastern approaches of Costa Del Sol, the Aegean, the Ionian, the Adriatic, the Lycian coast of Turkey, the Windward and the Leeward isles of the Caribbean! James loves exploring new places especially bay stops in secluded anchorages and is always looking to find the spots that magazines don’t tell you about! He has a passion for Free diving and Scuba Diving. James says the underwater world is full of amazing experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life! Captain James loves to stay active and busy but also understands the need to relax. Chilling by the beach, having a drink at the bar and watching the beautiful sunset is a great way to recharge the mind! Cara was born and raised in Edinburgh. Growing up traveling through Europe in a van with her parents, she always loved the idea of living on the road. After studied an arts degree she left Scotland to explore the globe. Moving to Australia and getting her first job in a kitchen there was no turning back, she began her journey cooking across the world. In 2017 starting her yachting career and qualifying as a Scuba Diving instructor in Honduras, sailing became her full-time life. Traveling across 60 countries, and sailing in some untouched and remote corners, including Tahiti and Fiji, the British Virgin Islands has always had her heart. Cara passion for food sparked from creativity, adventure and culture. She loves to bring in elements of local culture, and produce into her dishes, and get creative with flavors, plating and table scaping! Cara is a nutritionist and loves to make sure her food is as equally nourishing as delicious, as well as making sure we are eating sustainably and protecting our planet. Her favorite thing about living and cooking on a yacht is that you can catch something fresh and get it straight on the grill, it doesn’t get much better than that. Spending every day on the water, whether it is above or below sea level, is what keeps that smile on her face! She’s now spent two seasons on the islands and doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon.

127m sailing yacht KORU successfully delivered by Oceanco

Commissioned by entrepreneur and Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, the 3-masted 127m (416ft) schooner KORU , known throughout the build as Project Y721, has been successfully delivered by Oceanco . 

Boasting a striking black hull with a distinctive red stripe running along her waterline, sailing yacht KORU’s exterior styling mirrors a traditional schooner style with an elongated bowsprite and canoe stern. She reportedly takes her design cues from  Lürssen 's 93m (304ft) sailing yacht EOS , thought to be inspired by the entrepreneur’s visits to this yacht in previous years. 

Although much of her build has been shrouded in secrecy, Oceanco's newest yacht is understood to have an internal volume of 3,300 GT and will undoubtedly offer a wealth of luxurious accommodation and amenities.

KORU offers the last word in innovative design

While her design team has yet to be confirmed, we know the 127m yacht features an aft dip pool, a further Jacuzzi on her flybridge, and multiple areas for relaxing across her open decks. 

The sailing yacht will be supported by the 75m (247ft) Damen yacht ABEONA , which was delivered in February this year. Damen Yachting 's largest-ever support yacht ABEONA  holds the great responsibility of carrying KORU’s larger toys, including a submarine and a helicopter. 

Some say that superyacht KORU is now the world's largest sailing yacht, but this depends on whether you call Nobiskrug’s 143m (469ft) sailing yacht A a sailing yacht. Some would argue she is a sail-assisted motor yacht , yet others claim her to be the largest sailing yacht in the world, including her builder Nobiskrug who states Sailing Yacht A “is the largest of her kind.”

Whether you believe her to be the largest or second-largest sailing yacht in the world, KORU is guaranteed to head-turn wherever she goes. 

She departed Oceanco's facilities on April 6 and has now passed Gibraltar, cruising underway at a speed of 13 knots.

Kamaz FTL hauler registers NatCar brand

MOSCOW. Sept 4 (Interfax) - National Carrier JSC, the full truckload freight trucking company headed by former Globaltruck CEO Ilya Sattarov that Russian truck maker Kamaz founded this summer, applied to register the brand NatCar at the end of August, the registry of federal intellectual property service Rospatent showed.

The NatCar brand is also mentioned in the recruitment ads of National Carrier, which is actively looking for E-class drivers. It is offering working with this year's model Kamaz diesel trucks from the flagship K5 line and new dry goods (curtainsider) and refrigerated trailers.

National Carrier was founded on July 7 in Moscow with charter capital of 1 billion rubles, the Unified State Register of Legal Entities showed. The company registered two branches in early August, in Yekaterinburg and Elektrostal, Moscow Region. The company specializes in truck logistics and associated activities, including digitization processes.

A spokesman for National Carrier told Interfax earlier that the company plans to provide FTL trucking services using its own fleet, "as well as the resources of hired truckers." The company's fleet will initially consist of 400 semi-trailer trucks with a 50/50 ratio of curtainside to refrigerated trailers, and it plans to primarily operate on domestic routes, he said.

The company has preliminary agreements with major customers among marketplaces and retailers in the FMCG and DIY segments, the spokesman said. Strong demand for trucking services is expected toward the end of the year, so there is interest from customers, he said.

Kamaz marketing director Ashot Arutyunyan announced at the International Moscow Automotive Forum at the end of August that the truck maker was the principal investor in National Carrier. He did not comment on the new company's shareholder structure, but said it is a Kamaz startup.
