Motor yacht rabdan is an undeniably beautiful example of superyacht design built in 2007 by australian company hanseatic marine. with an aluminium hull and superstructure, her exterior is the work of espen oeino while her interior is designed by silverstrin. this unique vessel measures 73.3 metres and can accommodate up to 18 guests..

With a defining sleek and slender silhouette, this triple-deck yacht was built by its owner to be environmentally conscious, unique and reliable; a combination many thought impossible. She has been built to SOLAS passenger ship Classification and boasts a shallow draft that allows her to explore areas other vessels of her size could never hope to access.

The luxury yacht took two years to build and was shrouded in secrecy throughout her construction. Rabdan features a modernist interior with Contemporary Italian styling that incorporates hand-made white carpets, American walnut veneers, stitched leather upholstery and minimalist furniture.

With an abundance of outdoor spaces and indoor social areas, there is no doubt Rabdan was built to entertain. The top deck hosts a salon with a long table that seats up to 18 guests at once, as well as an aft foredeck and lounge complete with built-in couches and tables. Here also lies a sunpad that converts into a dance floor simply by removing the cushions, and a large Jacuzzi pool.

Both the main deck salon and upper sun deck boast areas which turn into cinemas, while a number of different lounges, seating and dining areas can be found throughout the vessel’s three decks. Motor yacht Rabdan features a large swimming platform aft from which tenders and watertoys can be boarded from and also has ample space for a helicopter to take-off and land if need be.

Amongst her eight cabins are five double staterooms, two VIP suites and a grand master suite. The master suite is located on the top deck and includes panoramic forward-facing windows, two walk-in-robes and an en suite bath. The main deck houses both VIP suites and an accompanying office with bathroom that can be converted into an extra suite if needed. The remaining staterooms are found on the lower deck, two with Pullman berths, and can be converted into larger suites by combing a set of two.

Luxury yacht Rabdan is powered by two 16V-4000 MTU engines that allow her to reach maximum speeds of 27 knots. Featuring a dedicated crew and a wide range of onboard facilities and water toys, Silver is an excellent charter yacht for luxury holidays. The luxury yacht cruises comfortably between 18 and 25 knots while a crew of 16 ensures the comfort of each charter guest.

Boasting a full range of exciting entertainment options, among Rabdan’s other notable features include an open bar, gym, beauty saloon, massage room and sauna. You will also find onboard a passenger lift, Yamaha Grand Piano, and games table.

Built by Hanseatic Marine, luxury motor yacht RABDAN is certainly a head-turner. It’s innovative design by Espen Oeino breaks the trend of wider yachts with exceptionally slender lines that almost make the vessel look like a pointer from an aerial view. However, this sleek silhouette certainly doesn’t take away from the yacht’s classic sophistication and elegance.

Despite a 240 foot length, this mega yacht can reach speeds of 27 knots, powered by its two 16V-4000 MTU engines.

WHERE DOES SHE CHARTER?

Of course, the design also allows the yacht to go where most yachts its size cannot fit. Motor yacht RABDAN can fulfill any Mediterranean yacht charter requirement, be it a yacht charter of the Cote d’Azur – between St Tropez and the Italian border; or a mega yacht charter between the magic of Naples and undiscovered Croatia.

The interior of this superyacht was designed by Silverstrin of Munich, Germany. The style is modern Italian and is a bit minimalist. Nevertheless, it maintains a warm and welcoming ambience. Designed with entertaining in mind, this luxury motor yacht was built to SOLAS (Safety Of Life At Sea) passenger ship classification.

ACCOMMODATIONS

With one master suite, five doubles, and 2 twin cabins, the sleek yacht can accommodate up to 18 guests and 16 crew members. The additional twin cabins can be used for 2 extra crew – such as bodyguards, nannies, or security personnel.

Cutting-edge lightweight materials, custom-made white carpets, widescreen satellite televisions, wifi Internet access, marble floors, innovative lighting, white leather couches, and extensive use of glass are themes throughout the vessel.

A triple-deck yacht, the owner’s suite is on the top deck and features panoramic windows that face front, an ensuite bath, and a raised king-sized bed. There are also two walk-in wardrobes and raised square sinks with American walnut veneer cabinetry. A long table in the salon can serve up to 18 guests at one setting. Also on the top deck is an aft foredeck and lounge with four white tables and white leather built-in couches. The aft outer deck can be used as a disco.

On the top deck with another built-in L-shaped white leather couch, a small walnut veneer table, and a Jacuzzi. There are numerous other lounge areas, including four breakfast tables and a forward area that can seat more than 20. There are two areas that can turn into a cinema – the salon on the main deck and the upper sun deck.

On the main deck are two VIP suites and an office with its own bathroom that can also serve as an additional suite. The lower deck contains four staterooms. Two of these have Pullman berths, and each set of two suites can be combined for larger guest accommodations, one on the port side and one on the starboard side.

A helicopter can land and lift off from the yacht in an emergency, and swimming from the boat is quite easy due to the large aft swimming platform.

Other features of motor yacht RABDAN include zero speed stabilizers and flared bows that make for dry decks. The yacht contains a large water toy garage which includes diving, fishing, and watersport equipment, as well as a bar, sauna, and gym.

This motor yacht RABDAN is a 73 metre 241 (ft) lengthy aluminium ship which was constructed at Hanseatic Marine Engineering Pty and devised by Espen Oeino. Accommodating 18 guests and 16 crew, motor yacht RABDAN used to be (Project Silver) as her shipyard project name or yacht title. Completed in 2007 the comparatively recent interior decoration promulgates the extant artistry from Hanseatic and their approach to interior yacht design.

Motor Yacht RABDAN was designed by Espen Oeino with the aim to meet specific performance and environmentally conscious goals of the owner. Her semi-displacement hull creates a highly efficient and stable platform and her chic interior is designed from advanced lightweight materials. This very minimal and modern design creates areas that are warm, comfortable, and casually stylish.

Building & Naval Architecture relating to Luxury Yacht RABDAN

Espen Oeino was the naval architect firm involved in the professional vessel design work for RABDAN. Her interior design was realised by Hanseatic. Espen Oeino is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this yacht. In 2007 she was formally launched with celebration in Henderson Wa and post sea trials and finishing touches was then passed on to the yacht owner. Hanseatic Marine Engineering Pty completed their new build motor yacht in Australia. Her core hull was built out of aluminium. The motor yacht main superstructure is fabricated extensively from aluminium. With a beam of 10 m or 32.8 feet SILVER has spacious internal space. She has a reasonably shallow draught of 2.5m (8.2ft). She had refit maintenance and modification undertaken by 2008.

Installed with twin MTU diesel main engines, RABDAN can reach a top speed of 27 knots. For propulsion RABDAN has twin screw propellers. She also has an efficient range of 4500 nautical miles when motoring at her cruise speed of 18 knots. Her total HP is 6612 HP and her total Kilowatts are 4930.

Our yacht operating cost calculator is now on it’s third major revision. We start with actual yacht expense data from our yacht management accountants and then generate formulas to extrapolate out the budget for a wide range of yachts. We have been providing accounting services to large yachts for the past 18 years.

Our operating cost calculator is tuned for yachts from 80 to 600 feet. We find operating variables create the largest variances for yachts smaller than 100 feet and larger than 250 feet. We have tested the numbers the most in the range from 100 to 250 feet.

Our budget calculator factors in the fuel burn for a range of engine sizes typically seen installed on yachts by length. By dragging the green “fuel dockage” slider to the right you will increase the projected fuel burn rate and therefore the budget cost for fuel. Our default position would be for a typical displacement fuel burn. Position the slider in the 60-80% range for fuel projections for planning hulls.

Our default values produce a budget number that we believe is generous to run a yacht to a high standard. Perfect is a very expensive word to use in the yachting industry where standards are already high. Moving the crew and maintenance sliders to 80% will provide an “industry best” quality of crew and give them the maintenance budget to operate to a very high standard. If you need to go over the 80% area then you may have unusually labor intensive equipment on the yacht.

Yes, our yacht operating cost calculator can output a budget suitable for this situation. Adjust the owner use to 2 (minimum value), owner slider to 0, crew slider to 10%, Administration to 10%, Fuel and Dockage to 0, Maintenance to 10% and then Capital Repairs to 0. This will remove all of the large charges associated with owner use and vessel movement but leave the essential base maintenance and insurance in place.

Lift on and float in yacht transport is a popular way to transport yachts across large ocean passage. The yachts that this service certainly applies to are ones that may not have the motoring range or structural integrity for blue ocean cruising. The cost of transporting a yacht twice per year is put into our budget once the “Fuel Dockage” slider hits 75%. If your yacht has the range we recommend self-sufficient ocean passages whenever possible. Whilst the transport companies sell their services based upon reportedly well oiled operated schedules the reality is that your yacht may stay waiting for pickup for a week or more with no compensation due. When factoring in all secondary factors of self-sufficient passages (increased fuel, maintenance, potential storm damage, crew time off, extra delivery crew) compared with transporting your yacht (insurance, potential loading / unloading damage, loss of schedule control, no work whilst underway, crew flights, crew accommodation) we believe that there is a 100% premium associated with float in transport and a 75% premium with lift on transport compared with self-powered.

Abandoned yachts crash in value. We recommend that even if you are trying to sell your yacht that you use the yacht for a minimum of two weeks per year so that systems are tested and working every six months. There is nothing worse for a yacht than not being used. If you truly are not going to use the yacht then you should sell it immediately for the first genuine offer as every dollar you put into maintenance will not be recovered at the time of the sale.

We did not build this version with sailing yachts in mind. Early in our development of this version we decided to exclude sailing yachts as a few of the major cost drivers scale very differently for sailing yachts compared with motor yachts. For example: To calculate paint costs we reviewed the surface area of over 100 large yachts and created a formula for painted surface area to length. Sailing yachts just don’t scale in a consistent way. Similarly crew numbers don’t scale in the same manner that they do for motor yachts. If there is sufficient demand we may build a sailing selector switch into a future version of this tool.

We hate to hear when yacht owners were told by their broker to factor in 10% of the purchase price to operate the yacht. This over used saying is sadly right occasionally (particularly for newer yachts in the $20-30M range)… but just because a broken watch tells the right time twice a day you shouldn’t rely upon it to tell the time. As yachts get older their capital value decreases but their maintenance costs increase. There is no way that a fixed 10% of purchase cost rule can be true… if your broker told you this rule then you need a new yacht broker… we know some good ones. 😊

But, after touring his previous 313-foot-long superyacht that’s played host to numerous A-list celebrities at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show a few years back, and recently learning that his newly launched superyacht is 400-feet-long, it’s pretty obvious he likes to go big.

And as you can see in these images, Khan’s new KISMET ( Cecil Wright sold his previous 313-foot-long KISMET last September and is the central charter agent for this one) that was built by Lürssen in Germany, has an exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard , and an interior design led by the Khan’s family working alongside Reymond Langton Design takes going big to a whole other level.

Actually, what makes KISMET even more opulent is the simple fact that eventhough it’s much, much longer than an American football field, it’s designed to pamper just 12 uber VIP ’s over the yacht’s six massive decks.

In fact, the master suite spans two decks and features a large skylight and fireplace, and his and hers bathrooms and dressing rooms. The private hot tub and sunbathing area forward and the private staircase leading up to a spectacular office simply must be seen to be believed.

The guest cabins also offer an oasis of comfort and serenity with the flexibility to accommodate varying preferences. Meanwhile, the yacht’s wellness and beauty areas include a Balinese-inspired spa with hammam, sauna, and cryotherapy chamber to a dedicated gym and yoga studio with a juice bar, both with opening sea terraces. In addition, there is a further treatment room with a massage table, waterfall shower and chromotherapy bathtub. For red carpet ready evenings, the yacht has two hair and beauty rooms, one in the spa area and another in the owner’s suite.

From anchoring at a secluded island in the Caribbean to cruising the coastline enjoying the fall colors, yacht ownership opens up limitless possibilities to explore the beauty of Mother Nature. It can also create quite the adrenaline rush if a sportfishing boat is more your style. There are many benefits to hiring a professional yacht broker when you plan on buying your first yacht including having someone on your side when evaluating the right price, for the right vessel.

So how much does it cost to buy a yacht on average? In 2021, the average selling price of a yacht is approximately $640,000, with prices ranging from $300,000 to over $15,000,000. This average selling price represents all pre-owned boats from 40-feet to 100-feet, power (not sail), and sold in the Southeastern United States, including the large Florida market. The data collected for this sales price was from the boating industry's MLS system.

This 50-foot flybridge yacht (seen below) was sold around the average selling price mentioned above and is a good example of what you can expect when spending over $500k . It features several bedrooms for overnight trips, a galley, a nice flybridge seating area, and a lot of comforts you would find at home.

A yacht can mean vastly different things to different people depending on their style of boating, where they live, what they plan to do on the boat, and the amount of equipment they choose. A 50-foot yacht can vary in price by several hundred thousand dollars depending on how new it is, its engines, brand, and amenities. Having a conversation about your needs and budget with a professional yacht broker can answer all of these questions and take the guesswork out of your search. 

While the average price of a yacht sold in the Southeast this year is $640,000, buyers can find yachts for less if they are willing to go a bit older and/or a bit smaller.

• According to the list of 2021 sold boats, the average selling price for yachts between 40 and 50 feet was $329,000.
• Yachts under 40 feet are generally called cruising boats and can still feature a lot of the same amenities found on larger vessels.
• How much does a small yacht cost? Examples of active boats on the market right now show a sizeable difference in price depending on the length and year. For example, a 2021 40-foot Intrepid boat is listed for over $800,000 , while a 2011 Intrepid 40 is listed for under $400,000 .

The larger, newer, and more extravagant yachts can cost $5 million and higher. Forbes.com identifies a superyacht as a vessel ranging from "79 feet to more than 590 feet in length." The average selling price in 2021 for yachts over 100-feet, according to the industry MLS database, came in at just under $1 million. Of course, there were several superyachts that were between $10 million and $50 million on the list.

A prime example of a superyacht would be " ANTITHESIS ", a Horizon Yachts 136 that had an asking price of $7,990,000 at the time of sale. This superyacht featured 5 luxury staterooms, a pilothouse with full electronics suite, a jacuzzi, sauna, 2 water-makers, 2 generators, and a lot more top-end equipment. Yacht owners looking to cruise long distances or possibly turn the vessel into a yacht charter business would be interested in a boat of this stature.

The cost of a yacht is not the only cost to consider. Purchasing your new boat is the largest upfront expense, however, there are also the costs of owning a yacht that need to be considered. This is again where hiring an experienced, professional yacht broker can really pay dividends and take a lot of the stress out of the process. According to Trade Only Today , in 2019 and 2020 there were more than 1,100 sailboats sold in the United States. As you begin to figure out exactly what type of boating you want to enjoy, as well to learn the advantages and disadvantages of different boat types, you can begin to narrow down the selection process.

• Sport Fishing Yachts - Over 40' and in Southeast: $815,500

With so many factors to determine how much it costs to buy a yacht and maintain it, it is in the best interest of boat buyers of this magnitude to speak with a certified professional yacht broker. "Pricing a yacht in this market can be a difficult thing," said Brian T. Franc , CPYB and manager of United's Emerald Coast Division. "Pre-owned prices are definitely inflated due to lack of inventory, but there are still some great opportunities if you are fast and have someone watching the market daily on your behalf. What yachting industry insiders have to say about Jeff Bezos' superyacht

• Jeff Bezos' yacht , which reportedly cost $500 million to build, completed its first year at sea.
• The superyacht, Koru, was a frequent topic of conversation at the Palm Beach boat show.
• Here's what industry insiders think about the vessel.

It's been just about a year since Koru, Jeff Bezos ' $500 million megayacht, set sail from the Oceanco shipyard in the Netherlands, capturing the attention of yachting insiders and land dwellers alike.

Even after her first season at sea, the 127-meter ship is still one of the most talked about vessels among those in the know — and not just for the busty figurehead on its prow, which many have wrongly speculated is based on Bezos's fiancée . Koru was a hot topic at the annual Palm Beach International Boat Show, where the yachts of other billionaires were on display for sale or charter.

The overwhelming response from those Business Insider spoke to was awe, with many praising her unique design, commenting on her immense size, or remarking that they'd been lucky enough to see her up close.

"It's absolutely beautiful," said Federico Rossi, the COO of luxury yachtbuilder Rossinavi.

Still, due to the small size of the industry — and the fact that privacy is paramount in the yachting community — even those who complimented Koru mostly did not want to go on record in order to protect professional relationships.

"That thing's amazing," one such superyacht expert told BI. "It's very well done in terms of craftsmanship."

Unlike many other megayachts, Koru, which media billionaire Barry Diller's Eos inspired, is designed as a sailing yacht. That bucks the current trend of more severe-looking explorer boats — though Koru's 75-meter support vessel Abeona is of a more typical style,

"I heard back in 2018 or something that somebody had ordered a classic sailing yacht," the superyacht expert also told BI. "You order 125 meters, that's not really going to be classic. But it is. I think it's pretty cool."

Like most other megayachts, Koru is powered by her engines, which are reportedly innovative in their use of a kinetic energy recovery system. Industry experts, therefore, pointed out that her sails are more for looks than anything else — but that still works in her favor, with many praising her overall aesthetic appeal.

"It's stunning," added a captain who has worked on several megayachts. He said he'd seen Koru in St. Barts, a favorite spot of Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez , over the holidays.

"There are definitely uglier boats out there," one yacht architect said. "It's not like it's shaped like his rocket," he jokily added, referring to the phallic design of Blue Origin's New Shephard .

Some, though, think the yacht is a bit excessive — which is saying something in a world where bigger is better and $250 million is a normal amount to spend.

"That's over the top. That's an insanely ridiculous boat," a longtime broker who favors discretion said. It's a "whole big show."

And the expert who praised the yacht's craftsmanship balanced his admiring comments by saying Koru's liberal use of teak — a wood traditionally used for yacht decks — was "bizarre."

The material has gained a bad reputation in the industry in recent years, as it typically comes from Myanmar, a country with a checkered human rights record. Plus, it takes a long time to grow, leading to deforestation.

Many shipyards have now turned to alternatives, like bamboo or plantation-grown teak, in their pushes toward sustainability. Bezos' team did not respond to BI's question about the origin of the deck's wood.

Teak or not, the yachting industry isn't generally known for being all that environmentally friendly — or indeed lowkey, so many who BI talked to didn't buy into the idea that Koru is "too much."

"If this is genuinely Jeff's dream come true, then great," Anders Kurtén, the CEO of brokerage Fraser Yachts, said. "I'm genuinely happy for him, and I'm happy for the people who got the opportunity to have employment to work on that."

And Bezos, of course, isn't the only billionaire with a stunning yacht . Billionaires like Jerry Jones and Bernard Arnault have also, at times, turned heads with their boats.

Most recently, insiders have tied Mark Zuckerberg to a 118-meter ship named Launchpad . It's the latest superyacht to capture the yachting world's attention.

So, as she sets sail for her debut summer season, Launchpad may take Koru's place as the main yacht on everyone's radar this year.
