This is only available to HYC members. Call the office for more info.
Frostbiting
Frostbiting has ended for the season. Check back again next September. As the weather cools down, the competition heats up in our frostbiting fleet. Every Sunday from the beginning of November through mid April, our JC9 and Laser fleets take to the water in separate sailing areas for up to six races per day. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned racer, it’s a great chance to hone your skills in a friendly but competitive atmosphere. After racing, we retire to the clubhouse/deck (following social distancing guidelines) to discuss conditions, strategy, rules, gear and more. We invite all to join in the fun. We have a limited number of boats available for charter in both classes.
Not a racer, but still looking for an excuse to be on the water all winter? Our race committees always welcome new volunteers!
Please contact us at (914) 636-6300 for additional information.

Huguenot Yacht Club
Play in the heart of downtown baltimore, marina info.
It was in October, 1894 that a group of yacht owners organized what was called the Neptune Yacht Club. They later changed the name to commemorate the Huguenots who originally came from La Rochelle, France, to settle in this area. By December, 1894 , the club had 46 members to its credit. It officially opened on January 1, 1895 and officially incorporated on February 8, 1895. At that time, the club was located just outside the bridge. It consisted of 2 small buildings leased from Mr. Adrian Iselin (1818-1905). On April 27, 1895 the club held its first regatta. By May, 1896 the club expanded to 80 members and celebrated the opening of a new, larger club house. Huguenot Yacht Club hosted Saturday Night dances that became extremely popular. The first annual dance was held at the 'Gymnasium' in New Rochelle on April 23, 1895.

New Rochelle, NY— January 24, 2021— Huguenot Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program announces their upcoming Open House on Sunday January 30 th , 1-4pm for Huguenot’s Summer 2022 Junior Sailing Program, a full-day sailing and racing instructional program for kids and teens 8-16 years old.
“It’s an adventure-filled, local summer camp option.” Raves a local parent of two junior sailors at Huguenot Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program.
Established Summer Program
Established more than 40 years ago, the HYC Junior Sailing Program offers beginners and advanced sailors a safe, adventurous and fun sailing environment. Coached daily by US Sailing-certified staff over the course of two Summer sessions, junior sailors will learn seamanship, on-the-water safety, and racing skills. Last year’s program was a sold-out success as HYC pivoted to incorporate virus protocols that allowed junior sailors a summer of recreation. Sailors will find an environment for making fast friends, enjoying organized games, refueling with provided picnic lunches and supervised free swim each afternoon in the Club’s pool. Many of our sailors are offered opportunities to participate with coach support in regattas all over the Long Island Sound.
“Learning to sail not only provides a great way for kids to become self-reliant and practice personal responsibility,” says the working parent of a new sailor, “it’s also learning a lifelong sport.”
