The Catamaran is closer to more restaurants and to the ocean, so I'd say that area is a bit more lively than right around the Bahia.

Paradise Point is a bit isolated, as it is on "island" with just the Hotel and a city run park on the location, so most folks want a car. (The Public Bus system does have a stop next to the Hotel, but you are still away from anything walkable). Very nice resort. The Bahia and Catamaran are run by the same company, and both are good choices if you want to be near the beach (aka pacific Ocean).

It is also just a just drive to downtown San Diego. I saw the location of the Bahia and preferred the Catamaran.

We are big fans of the Catamaran!Both the Catamaran and the Bahia share a boat ride on the bay and the Bahia does not look that bad but we ALWAYS choose to stay at the Catamaran and have been going there for 5 years now.Some people say the rooms are a little run down for the price but they are not horrible.
