” Our boats – Mauro Corvisieri explains – are 100% custom and built from scratch, based exclusively on the owner’s preferences. Like in a prestigious boutique, the owner therefore has the opportunity to choose between four great internationally renowned designers and select the “stylist” who, from a stylistic point of view, is closest to his wishes ”.

The four “stylists” of Custom Yacht are Sergio Cutolo (Hydro Tec), Marco Casali (Too Design), Giovanni Ceccarelli (Ceccarelli Yacht Design) and Michele Dragoni (Dragoni Design Lab). Their pencils give life to unique and completely custom aluminium and steel-and-aluminium yachts and superyachts.

Mauro Corvisieri’s in-depth knowledge of 100% custom superyachts derives from the long experience in the nautical sector he started in his early age, when his father, a port builder, accompanied him on tugs, and then continued in his youth, when he embarked for a month on board a charter, where he immediately realized the “strategic importance of volumes and livable spaces inside a boat” . After managing a boat rental company, Mauro Corvisieri felt the need to build a reliable and spacious displacement trawler.

How i got here.

Tim has spent the last 20 years as a broker working with UHNW individuals and served 14 years in the British Army reserve with tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. His career began in private aviation before moving to superyachts. Growing up in a naval family, he developed an early passion for boats, and the yachting industry was a natural transition. 

Drawing from his experience in larger brokerage houses, he aspired to provide a more personalized service to clients—a level of care that can only be achieved in a boutique firm. This led him to establish TJB Super Yachts in 2013. The swift success of his yacht brokerage speaks volumes about his team’s unwavering commitment and hard work. Running an innovative business with strong ethical values has its challenges, but it is also gratifying, as evidenced by a steady growth in yacht charters and revenue each year. 

Tim prides himself on two core principals; a boutique, personalised service combined with a super high-tech internal infrastructure. His team are mentored at every level to nurture client relationships and provide consistent, highly efficient service. Clients receive the most up-to-date, accurate information as soon as it is released and can use the innovative and intuitive TJB Super Yachts website to build their own itinerary and explore the charter and sales market for themselves.

The wellbeing retreat experience takes place on celebrated Sea Breeze III superyacht. With five iconic levels aboard, you’ll feel as if you’ve entered an exquisite hotel rather than a boat.

The package includes cruising around Waitemata Islands while indulging in three days of yoga and meditation, soothing massages by expert massage therapists, wellness experts tending to your every need, relaxing in giant open-air hot tubs, spas and plenty more.

Additionally, choose to dine inside the salon or aboard the breezy alfresco deck while chefs cater delicious nutritious meals and refreshing drinks such as healthy mocktails for guests.

However, there’s an expensive catch. Allegedly, an all-inclusive three-day winter wellbeing retreat will set you back around $19,000 for a super king master suite or $12,000 each for couples. Alternatively, go with a friend and pay $9000 each for a twin room.

The château dates back to 1698 and was built by the baron and military governor of Maastricht, Daniël Wolf van Dopff.

Over the centuries, the estate and caves have served as a gathering place for parties and royalty, from Peter the Great and Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands to race-car driver Max Verstappen. Somewhere along the line, the château earned the nickname “party palace.”

The castle entered its next era on March 1, with the launch of seven newly created suites in the former gatekeepers’ quarters. Two of the suites, the Deluxe Garden and the Superior Garden, offer private courtyards.

“It’s long been a dream of our guests to be able to stay at the château overnight,” said Camille Oostwegel Jr., who became the owner and managing director of the Oostwegel Collection after his father, Ooswegal Sr., retired in 2020. The portfolio includes four historic luxury hotels in the region, including the 60-room, 15th-century monastery Kruisherenhotel Maastricht and Château St. Gerlach , a 114-key estate that’s hosted to everyone from Bruce Springsteen to the Rolling Stones over the years.

Eschewing dim interiors typical of Renaissance-style castles, Oostwegel Jr. hired interior designer Roelfien Vos to create a lighter, more modern atmosphere that would both “future-proof” the property while preserving the integrity of the original structures. Spread across two floors of the château, an original 16th-century turret discovered during the restoration provides a setting that is both innately cozy and superbly stylish.

“Most importantly, we wanted to showcase the beauty of the original construction and work around that,” Vos said. “The idea was to take the things we see all around us and bring the outside in while preserving the integrity of the original details as organically as possible.”

The project, which Vos describes as a “dream assignment,” achieved this through “layering” each space. Woven throughout the suites, everything from the upholstery to the wallpaper draws on inspiration from plants like Brandkruit found in the garden. “Julius Caesar print” throw pillows and sleek light fixtures sourced from across Europe add thoughtful touches, while reclaimed wood in a Versailles pattern flows throughout.  

“My house is now your palace,” Camille Oostwegel Sr. said. 

Rates range from roughly $438 euro to $1,312 per night.
