The Journey Power Cat is designed for cruising and long-range voyages. Power catamarans, similar to sailing catamarans, have two parallel hulls that provide stability and a spacious platform for various activities. This 47 foot 4 inch power cat offers excellent stability due to the 18 foot beam and twin hull design allowing for a comfortable and smooth ride, even in rough seas.

In today’s fuel market, it’s important to note that power catamarans are known for their fuel efficiency. The twin hulls create less drag, resulting in better fuel economy compared to monohull boats. They are also very spacious, providing a generous amount of interior and deck space. The wide beam allows for expansive main salon living areas, with seclusion between cabins. Additionally, the deck areas provide ample room for outdoor lounging, dining, and other activities.

Journey Power Catamarans are designed for long-range cruising and voyages. With her large fuel capacity (540 gallons disbursed in four tanks) and efficient propulsion systems, extended journeys without the need for frequent refueling is the norm. She’ll cruise between 7 to 17 Knots, with a top speed of 22 to 23 Knots. At the lower speed, she can sip fuel at approx. 2.5 nautical miles per gallons.

The Journey line, as well as power cats in general, offer luxurious amenities and accommodations. Her high-quality finishes, comfortable furnishings, advanced navigation and entertainment systems, and spacious layout enhance the onboard experience.

Kenzie’s Kat is versatile, allowing for numerous activities, including cruising, fishing, diving, and entertaining. Her stability and spaciousness makes her ideal for families, groups, or those looking for a comfortable and enjoyable boating experience.

What’s the big deal about Wave Piercing Bows? The basic concept of a wave piercing bow is to have the boat go through the wave instead of riding up and then down over the wave. This particular hull design does not have the dynamic buoyancy that you find in most vessels, in other words it does not produce noticeable lift when running, hence keeping the boat flat and smooth through choppy conditions. Therefore, there is reduced stress on the vessel and the crew. This design also has the benefit of reducing the boat’s wave making resistance which means she goes through the water easier, equating to better fuel economy. The wave piercing hull design is in use worldwide by modern passenger and cargo ferry catamarans. The main reason is the boat achieves a higher top speed, smoother ride and much better fuel economy! The Journey 47 is one of the first production power catamaran using this innovative hull design.

Everything you’d want in a Motoryacht, and more. Kenzie’s Kat has a flybridge with fantastic visibility in addition to plenty of seating and a wet bar for hosting parties. The spiral staircase is super easy to use when compared to the common ladder style. Her back deck on the main level also has a wet bar and ample seating and spaciousness. You can access via the port or starboard transom doors, and the dinghy is stored off the stern which allows for maximum use of deck space.

The main salon includes the galley, a large dining area and other seating areas. The sweeping views from all four sides is both reassuring for the captain, and dreamy for the crew and guests. The main cabin is forward mid-ship and includes a full head. The crews quarters is bunk style with a second head. A washer/dryer completes your offshore needs.

Journey Cat 47

From the grand salon it’s only four steps down to the master stateroom on the starboard side with the head and utility room located just aft of the steps. On the port side you have a slightly smaller guest stateroom with an ensuite as well. From both sides you have interior access to the engine rooms. You can also access the engines from the deck as well.

Speaking of engines, Journey Cat 47 has for standard power the 6BY Yanmar 260HP six cylinder CR diesels which will drive the this Cat at over 20 knots yet if you want cruise a little more efficiently just throttle back to 12-14 knots and you’ve got enough fuel to go from Seattle to Ketchikan, non-stop, easily. If you want to throttle back just a bit more say to 9-10 knots, your fuel consumption drops to a very miserly two (2) miles per gallon.

The ergonomics of Fountaine Pajot catamarans have been designed to facilitate manoeuvring at the helm, enabling a small crew (2 persons) to manoeuvre the boat easily, both in port and at sea. The unique design of the helm station allows good communication between the aft cockpit and the Fly relaxation areas. New Boats: Journey Cat 47 Review by NW Yachting

The Journey Cat 47 LRC came about as the result of a non-stop, 2,800 mile trip from Long Beach, California to the Panama Canal made on the 50-foot offshore filming platform named Water Wizards.

There isn’t enough room here to go into all the details of the building of this remarkable vessel, however suffice it to say that since the Journey Cat 47 is built at the same yard as the Selene Trawlers it has the same legendary offshore integrity as well as the same gorgeous fit and finish.

Positioned ahead and to port is the lower helm station which provides the helmsperson with excellent sitelines [sic] fore and aft. Very conveniently located to starboard is the large and efficiently laid out galley. With all of this on one level, no one misses out on the spectacular views provided by the large windows which wrap almost all the way around.

The Mayotte 47 was the predecessor of the Voyage 500, with the difference being in the length of the transoms. They use the same hull mold. Her extra wide 28′ beam makes for a very stable platform under sail, and a wonderfully livable and spacious saloon, galley and cockpit, whilst at anchor. Fred Scholtz Marine hull. Scholtz was one of the largest boat builders in South Africa in his day. He sold the Mayotte molds to Voyage Yachts in 1996 who changed the yacht to be more suited a charter boat. For example, the outboard cockpit lockers were altered so as not to intrude on the aft berths.

Mayotte 47 (Bahamas)

S/V Swish is a 1996 Mayotte 47 catamaran for sale by owner. The Mayotte 47 is the precursor to the Voyage 50 as Voyage Yachts bought Mayotte around 1996. Overall identical except the Voyage has extended Sugar Scoops.

She is a comfortable, good looking catamaran with an outstanding galley up and main salon, large well protected cockpit, and four en-suite, Queen sized berths with an additional single captains berth. Voyage 470 (Chesapeake Bay)

This Voyage is identical inside to the Voyage 500. In fact, it is the same boat. Voyage simply extended the sterns a few feet for the 500.
