POSITANO YACHT CHARTER: DISCOVER THE PEARL OF THE AMALFI COAST
Of all the unique and charming tourist destinations globally, positano is the most beautiful one to visit on a luxury yacht charter. the pearl of the amalfi coast, positano, is on the border of the sorrentine peninsula festooned with enchanting surroundings..
Positano, with its pastel-hued houses clinging to the steep slopes of the Lattari Mountains, is indisputably the best-known attraction of the Amalfi Coast, thanks to its dynamic summer nightlife and premium restaurants and ateliers. Not to mention the exquisite sandy beaches, mystical sea caves, and grottos spread across the Tyrrhenian’s rugged coastline. It is one of the most beloved and unforgettable destinations of a luxury yacht charter in the Gulf of Naples.
Positano’s narrow streets are lined with dreamy hotels, like Le Sirenuse and San Pietro Hotel , two of the most refined resorts in the Costiera – real gems offering the famous Neapolitan hospitality during a luxury yacht charter in Positano .
The best beaches to hit on a Positano yacht charter
Tiny and wild Laurito and Arienzo, known as the “three hundred steps beach”, are worth visiting for their beauty. Also recommended during a Positano yacht rental is Marina Grande, home to the renowned “Music on the Rocks” club, the iconic hotspot of the local high life. Fornillo, a pebbly beach of crystal-clear waters, is the best choice for those looking for a spot to chill in a glorious natural setting.
Positano yacht charter : endless activities
During a Positano yacht rental , one must step off board and stroll down the Sentiero Degli Innamorati or Walk of the Lovers, a strip of land stretching between the cliffside and the sea, offering unforgettable views.
For less experienced hikers aboard a l uxury yacht charter in Positano, spend the day trekking from Nocelle, a tiny village in the municipality of Positano, to Agerola. This trail that twists and turns across the Mediterranean vegetation features arresting scenic spots looking out to a view that includes the Faraglioni of Capri, Punta Penna, the islet of Li Galli and the Lattari Mountains.
Positano lacks an actual marina, featuring only a dock used by the motorboats operating along the Amalfi Coast . Positano yacht rentals can drop anchor at the buoy field opposite the town or the Amalfi marina.
Positano’s main Piazzetta is also home to many refined dining options and local bars. Head to Le Sirenuse for an aperitif on the sea-view terrace. Or even better, have your private yacht charter crew make you an Aperol Spritz to enjoy on the top deck as the sun goes down.
During the summer months, events such as the Feast of the Assumption are exciting to see during your Amalfi Coast yacht charter, offering food, music, and traditional celebrations that bring the town to life.

When To Visit Italy
The Summer months of June through August usher in the warmest temperatures, longest days, and height of the yacht charter season along the coast. This also means all the top bars, restaurants, wineries, orchards, shops, and other activities are guaranteed to be open. While temperatures during the day are typically in the high 80s, the night brings cool breezes to refresh you on and off your boat.
Spring or Fall
For those looking for a more tranquil experience, the shoulder seasons are best for a visit to Positano and the Amalfi Coast. Additionally, the cooler temperatures allow for much more rigorous activities, like hikes, without the risk of heat exhaustion and sunburn. May and early June, in particular, provide a landscape of bright flowers and lush greenery.
On the opposite shoulder, September also provides a lovely experience, with warm waters and local events. The crowds have subsided, and the weather is still perfect for chartering.

Positano Yacht Charters
Bordering the edge of the Mediterranean Sea, the quaint village of Positano is more dreamlike than it is an example of modern, 21st-century living. Once an ancient fishing town, Positano – with its diverse history of legendary pirate attacks – is now a desired Amalfi Coast yacht charter destination.
When on a yacht charter in Postitano, make sure you wander your way through Positano’s familiar streets, and open your eyes to the surprises that await: like its gray-sand beaches, the Santa Maria Assunta cathedral, the idyllic Grotta la Porta, and the more distant islands of Castelluccio, Rotunda, and Gallo Lungo – all believed to be the home of the Sirens of Greek mythology. To get a taste of natural Italian beauty, walk along the Via Positanesa d’America, and you’ll find plentiful lush gardens, fragrant olive groves, citrus trees, and the enchanting Positano Botanical Gardens. For centuries, Positano has been a muse for some of the world’s most creative minds – like author John Steinbeck and Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, to name a few.
Yacht charters in Positano allow for the full romantic experience, as the gentle lapping of the waves draws you towards the village. The picturesque view of buildings clinging to cliffs is unmatched along this stretch of coast and the area offers many activities for an enjoyable visit.

Positano Yacht Charters – Things To Do & See
To get the most out of your next yacht charter to Positano, visit the beautiful sites listed below:
Grotta la Porta Adding to Positano’s obvious charm, the ancient Grotta la Porta is a true archeological gem. Sitting just inside the harbor, this cave tells a story of Positano’s Paleolithic past: one with an economy that thrived on shellfish trading and prehistoric stone carvings found in what still exists of the grotto’s interior.
Spiaggia Grande Lined with popular restaurants and visited by tourists from across the globe, Spiaggia Grande is Positano’s main beach – and regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Sitting at the center of an amphitheater of hillside homes and villas, this stretch of the Italian coasts is home to celestial horizon views, beautiful people-watching, a whimsical esplanade and pure, soft, stark-white sand.
Via Positanesa d’America Stretching across the entire eastern coast of Positano, this tiny road-turned-walkway has gained a reputation for its beautiful, seaside views and mountainous terrain. Named after the large numbers of 19th-century emigrants that left Positano for the United States – who sent packages back home during World War II, virtually saving the inhabitants who still lived there – this idyllic place for an afternoon stroll leads the way to Fornillo Beach. Wind your way through its cliff-lined path, and you might even come across Torre Trasita; it’s Positano’s most distinctive, protective tower.

Yacht Charters Positano
The amalfi coast jewel, best time to visit, activities & experiences.
On a luxury yacht charter of Positano, we recommend uncovering its beauty layer by layer. Gliding toward the town, take a seat on the deck and take your time to tender slowly toward this majestic cliffside marvel. Watch how the houses gradually blend with the mountains and visually take in the landscape which you will soon explore. Once on land, there is plenty to see and do.
Where To Dine
No doubt your boat charter Positano will have helped you work up an appetite. You will want to ensure you save room to indulge when arriving, as the region is not short on culinary delights.
La Sponda offers a view like no other, as though you’re sitting within the cliffside, peeking out at the water below. Not to mention, their food is to die for. Seafood is their speciality. Fresh from the Tyrrhenian.
If you arrive mid-afternoon, you may want a pre-dinner cocktail, and Franco’s Bar is just the place. Franco’s is a popular venue, so you will want to arrive before 5:30 pm to secure yourself the best seat in the house and avoid a queue. After Franco’s, close by Next2 is the perfect spot for dinner.
Daytime dining and lounging are done best at Treville Beach Club at Laurito Bay, best accessed by your charter of Positano. Make a day of it dipping in the crystal clear waters before setting yourself up on shore to lounge in the sun.
Finally, if you’re a Michelin star restaurant enthusiast like us, you will want to book a table at the exclusive Il San Pietro de Positano.
What To See
Before you visit Il San Pietro’s Michelin star restaurant, you should book a tour of the stunning Il San Pietro gardens.
Tender to La Sirenuse, walk up the steps and follow the road into Positano town. While here, visit the church of Santa Maria Assunta, built in the 1920s. Stop at one of the many corner cafes for espresso or Positano’s famous limoncello.
Watch the sunset at Positano’s most popular beach, Positano Spiaggia, and then head on over to Music on the Rocks to party the night away.

It's All About Italy
The Ultimate Guide to Positano
A patchwork of citrus-hued homes cling to Positano’s rugged hillside, forming arguably the world’s most scenic backdrop. The village’s rampant bougainvillea and outspoken, kindhearted people fill the streets with vivid purple flora and load laughter. Just when you start to believe you’ve arrived to some sort of utopia, you then realize that you actually have to climb up the gorgeous, steep promontory (multiple times a day). In compensation for this sweat-inducing, calf-sculpting hike, one is bestowed with some the finest shopping on the coast; white linen dresses that seem to have jumped from a Dolce & Gabbana and hang out of boutique windows and pottery that would fit perfectly in a Sicilian princess’s kitchen is sold from the majority of the stores, lemons as big as a grown woman’s head sit outside of shopfronts that are chock full of flaxen limoncello bottles and leathery, white-haired men nail sandals onto customers’ feet. Basically, you see southern Italy, exactly as you envisioned it.
In order to achieve this ultimate Amalfi Coast experience, follow this guide and vacation sumptuously.
Home Sweet Home
To live like the southern Italian god/goddess to which you aspire, you must first find the proper digs. Although the options are plentiful, ranging from hostels to mega-yachts, it’s advised that you emulate the locals and settle in one of the many short term rental properties . As you sit on your adopted terrace and gaze out at the clear mediterranean, you may wonder why you don’t actually move to Positano. Don’t worry, this is a common symptom due to an excess of sun and limoncello. It usually passes within 2-4 weeks after the vacation’s end.
Mangia Mangia
Appearances mislead big time when it comes to the glamorous people who frequent the beaches and boats that line Positano’s Mediterranean shore. Around 1:30 to 2:00 pm everyday, the svelte bikini-clad ragazze and their Marcello-look-alike boyfriends promptly leave the fun and sun and head straight to shaded terraces and restaurants to lunch—a ritual not to be missed on the Amalfi coast. Pranzo is a languid affair during which not a soul rushes to finish their seafood salad or down their Falanghina wine. Campania’s mozzarella di buffala is the star of this pasto, which means ‘meal’ in Italian. Whether it’s grilled inside a lemon leaf or drizzled with unbeatable EVOO, diners keep coming back for more. When you’re not savoring the regions unbelievably delicious mozzarella, you’re probably relishing the world’s most local/green/whatever-you-want-to-call-it spaghetti alle vongole . Here on the Amalfi Coast, the legit mamme (moms) order their sons or house guests to run straight down to the sea to bring them back a bucket of Mediterranean water. With said liquid, they soak their clams, removing any impurities they may have picked up in the area’s pristine waters, and then with they cleaned clams they make a seafood sauce that will blow your mind. This dish is a fleeting masterpiece, a work of art to rival even that of Italy’s da Vinci and Botticelli.
Worrying Heights
When you first witness this common Amalfi coast pastime, you’ll think that people here are suicidal! No seriously, you see townsfolk hurling themselves off of rooftops and nosediving off of cliffs . Old men, young boys, girls still in pig tails, seemingly everyone here performs potentially deadly acrobatic-feats daily. Okay, admittedly, if you’ve been doing this since you were a youngster, then maybe you’ve built up enough expertise to realize tiny yet important details like water-depth and the best angle for not plummeting into craggily rocks. Yet beware – as an outsider, you will sooner or later be lulled into a false sense of security. Maybe when the 90-year-old without teeth does the most stunning butterfly dive you’ve ever seen (including your experiences watching the Olympics), you start to consider joining in on the tomfoolery yourself . Warning: Do not let that thought go any further!
As unskilled jumpers, tourists frequently leave the Amalfi Coast with a whole battery of injuries including scrapes, cuts, broken limbs and jelly fish stings; let’s just say that the territory’s waters sometimes conceal heavily concentrated jellyfish zones, making blindly diving into the sea a big no-no. Now this warning isn’t meant to frighten you to death, it’s merely a friendly heads-up as to what not to do. Luckily, the list of approved Mediterranean activities is equally long. It is advised that you spend at least eight consecutive hours on a boat. You must swim in no less than 2 aquamarine grottoes and it is suggested that, just to prove that you tried once, you jump off of a miniature cliff. Please note, when doing this, a pair of water booties will greatly benefit your grip and prevent ungainly leg scars caused by slippage.
Embrace Your Inner Catholic
Now this title is not meant to be politically incorrect nor is it intended to imply that you should be Catholic. It mainly refers a Catholic-inspired style. You know, a gusto for the dramatics and a natural gift for architecture. A tendency to drink wine with bread and to celebrate whenever you get the chance. Gold-covered anything and floor length gowns. Parades, petals and grandmas crying (tears of joy of course). Just welcome the spirit and opulence of it all. Whether you’re Atheist, Jewish Buddhist or just plain don’t know, walk into one of the many divine churches and bond with fellow visitors as you view the treasures within.
Wander, Discover & Love
The most vital thing to do while you’re in Positano is explore. Get lost in the alley ways, talk to locals and just unwind . Vacationing, prior to common practice, should actually be relaxing. Sure, you could spend half of you day on a bus, going to an ancient paper-production facility, but wouldn’t it be so much more fun to boat into the sunset or learn how to cook traditional foods? In case you’re wondering, the correct answer is ‘yes.’

Positano, jewel of the amalfi coast, is positano worth visiting.
People often ask me about visiting Positano for their next vacation. They ask me if it is worth the expense.
Well, yes, it most certainly is.
Here are the reasons why Positano is an absolutely fantastic idea:
Firstly, let's assume you are arriving by boat. If you aren't, you're doing something wrong. The reason is simply that nothing can beat arriving in Positano by boat, with the one possible exception of arriving in Amalfi by boat .
You don't have to be some rich celebrity or financier either. The view is the same whether you arrive on a mega-yacht or on the ferry sailing out of Sorrento or Salerno .
The ferry is great value; the view from its deck is priceless, and yet the ticket from pretty much anywhere on the Amalfi Coast is under 50 euros.
Prepare to walk once you get off the boat, and lots of it is uphill too. Still, the walk is beautiful, no matter which path you follow. I love the little ceramic stores along the way and the views of the sea far below, glimpsed between the colorful cottages and lemon trees. These views alone make a visit to Positano worth every cent.
Don't rush it, work your way slowly up the winding little lanes of Positano town. Stop at one of the many sidewalk cafes for an aperitivo ( Aperol Spritz is my favorite) and browse the fascinating stores. Our favorite stores are mentioned in this article.
See that picture below?
That is one of my favorite routes up from Positano Beach.
The beach is near where the ferries dock, so you could just get off the boat and relax on the beach all day. That's a waste though, as you miss so much that is wonderful. You'll find more about what else there is to see in Positano here.
Is there anything that isn't wonderful about Positano?
Firstly, it can get way too crowded for my liking in July and August. It's also not my choice of towns to stay on the Amalfi Coast. Yes, the hotels in Positano are amazing and there is one particularly dreamy hotel called the Villa TreVille , which you can read about in our guide to the hotels of the Amalfi Coast .
So why not stay in Positano, you ask, seeing that the hotels there are so wonderful?
Well, yes, they are wonderful, but they are also very expensive. Perhaps for a special occasion, such as a honeymoon or an anniversary on the Amalfi Coast, it is worthwhile; otherwise, I would recommend staying in one of the more affordable towns, which are more quaint, genuine, and less touristy.
Which town would I recommend?
There are a number of lovely ones; one of the absolute best is Minori . If you do stay in Minori make sure you take the walk from Minori to Ravello - it is truly something special.
Here's everything you need to know to make your vacation in Positano extra special.

I have been bringing my friends and clients on this wonderful experience for years. Whenever we are together, without fail, the topic of Matteo and the fabulous day of boating is always re-lived and spoken about with such fondness, and such enthusiasm. It is an experience beyond memorable. It is something NOT to be missed when on the coast. Doumina
This was hands down my favorite activity we did while in Southern Italy. The yacht was AMAZING! The crew was so helpful and took the time to point out parts of the Amalfi Coast and were knowledgeable about the area. Matteo was so easy to communicate/book with!!! I highly recommends this company to anyone looking for a fun, personalized cruise around the Amalfi Coast! You will NOT regret it!!! Amanda
All I have to say is “WOW”!!! The yacht we rented was amazing, the boat crew is awesome and the Amalfi Coast sunset cruise was breathtaking! I highly recommends this company to anyone looking for a fun personalized cruise around the Amalfi Coast! Chris Savage

After a few minutes of navigation, you’ll see the town of Praiano and its enchanting blue sea. You’ll feel like you’re in Northern Europe when you pass through the narrow Fiordo di Furore, one of the many wonders of the Amalfi Coast. Getting to Amalfi, you’ll find a city with great history, an ancient maritime republic full of treasures to be discovered, such as the ancient cathedral which dominates the city’s main square. You can also choose to have lunch in one of the many delicious restaurants in Amalfi or, if you prefer, you can enjoy your lunch on board. In the afternoon, get ready to admire the traditional towns of Maiori and Minori, before arriving into Vietri, the home of the Italian art pottery. Stop by one of its ceramic shops for some shopping before getting back to Positano. Capri The Capri experience starts from Positano’s pier: the staff of Luxury Boats Positano will guide you to Li Galli islands, while you admire the panorama of Positano from afar. Swim in the crystal-clear waters of Li Galli islands, the mythological home of the Mermaids of Ulysses, before heading back to Capri, one of the most sparkling pearls of the Mediterranean Sea. The famous and majestic cliffs called Faraglioni will welcome you – it’s impossible not to take a selfie. The beauty of the landscape and the blue waters will leave you speechless once you arrive at the Blue Grotto. The grotto is famous for the intense blue of the sea hidden inside, which you can admire on board a small wooden boat. You won’t forget this incredible experience. But now it’s time to wander around the iconic alleys of the capital of fashion and design, Capri city centre, with its famous Piazzetta. If you love the made-in-Italy shopping, this place is perfect for you. Coming back from Capri, enjoy the breath-taking sunset descending upon Positano. Ischia In the past, the volcanic island of Ischia was called the Green Island by the inhabitants of the Mediterranean Sea. Thanks to Ischia’s beautiful landscape, you’ll have an unforgettable experience. Get ready to leave from Positano’s pier and reach Ischia’s coast, while relaxing on board an elegant and private boat thanks to the staff of Luxury Boats Positano. Enjoy the wonders of the Amalfi Coast and get ready to swim in Ischia’s blue sea – it’s perfect for snorkelling and underwater exploration. As soon as you reach Ischia’s pier, you’ll start exploring the island with its typical alleys and unforgettable views. The Aragonese Castle and the ancient natural hot springs prove how important the island was in the past and will be part of one of the most unique experiences the Amalfi Coast can offer. Before leaving, treat yourself to Ischia’s traditional croissant and coffee at one of the bars in the city centre. Coming back from Ischia, enjoy the breath-taking sunset descending upon Positano. Experience Our experiences allow you to experience the most magical moments of the day in an even more magical place, despite having little time available: private or group sunset tours will take you to the Li Galli archipelago, an ancient and mythological residence of sirens. Endorsements | keeping up with the bezoses: mark zuckerberg buys a super yacht, reports say, a report says that zuckerberg’s luxurious new $300 million vessel was originally was commissioned by a russian oligarch who was the target of sanctions imposed after that country’s invasion of ukraine.
Given that Mark Zuckerberg enjoys a respectable 16th place on a list of the world’s richest people, he probably figured it was time for him to acquire one of the ultimate status symbols for the mega-wealthy — a super yacht.
A new report from The Sun said that Zuckerberg is now the proud owner of a $300 million vessel that he has christened “Launchpad.” The 387-foot-long vessel, which comes with a helipad and a $30 million companion boat, was seen docked this week at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with its unique chrome finish reflecting in the sun.
This purchase shows, among other things, that the Facebook and Meta founder and CEO has branched out from buying islands and building an underground complex to help him survive the apocalypse. Perhaps, he wants to cruise the Mediterranean this summer and be among the moguls who can play host to Leonardo DiCaprio.
The yacht definitely grants him admission to the watery playgrounds of such multibillionaires as Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates and any of the Russian oligarchs who haven’t been the target of sanctions imposed by the United States or its allies over Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
In fact, Zuckerberg reportedly came by Launchpad due to the misfortunes of one of those oligarchs. The yacht originally was commissioned to be built by Vladimir Potanin, one of Russia’s richest men who is on multiple sanctions list, according to a report by Autoevolution.com , a transportation industry site. The yacht was known as Project 1010, and the shipbuilder in the Netherlands was legally barred from delivering it to Potanin when it was completed in 2022, though Autoevolution also said that Potanin was not the yacht’s actual owner.
The Sun reported that the yacht recently received “special permission” to be imported. It has since arrived in the United States, a couple months ahead of Zuckerberg’s 40th birthday on May 14 — which raises the question of whether he meant Launchpad as a birthday gift to himself.
It’s quite a gift: Launchpad can comfortably fit 24 guests aboard. It also requires a crew of 48 and is said to cost $30 million a year for upkeep and usage, according to Superyachtfan.com . But shelling out $30 million for maintenance a year shouldn’t be a problem for Zuckerberg, who reportedly earns between $6 million and $12 million a day, The Sun said.
But as spectacular as Launchpad sounds, super yacht fans might say it’s not as spectacular as Jeff Bezos’s super yacht, Koru. The $500 million sailing vessel features very tall masts, a swimming pool, a helipad and room for a second, smaller yacht. The most noteworthy thing about Koru is that Bezos commissioned a special sculpture to decorate its prow. It’s a “curvaceous winged goddess” that is said to bear a striking resemblance to his fiancee Lauren Sanchez.
The Amazon founder, his wife-to-be and the goddess figurehead spent much of last summer sailing around the Mediterranean, cruising from Spain to Croatia and hosting such famous guests as Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Usher. The couple also threw a lavish engagement party off the coast of Positano on Italy’s Amalfi coast, attended by another pack of famous friends, including Kris Jenner, Wendi Murdoch and, yes, Leonardo DiCaprio.
