IJE, a 108.0 m Motor Yacht built in Italy and delivered in 2019, is the flagship of Benetti .

Her top speed is 18.5 kn, her cruising speed is 16.0 kn, and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 6500.0 nm at 14.0 kn, with power coming from two MTU diesel engines. She has a gross tonnage of 3600.0 GT and a 14.5 m beam.

She was designed by RWD , who has designed 45 other superyachts in the BOAT Pro database.

The naval architecture was developed by Benetti , who has architected 377 other superyachts in the BOAT Pro database, and the interior of the yacht was designed by Benetti (56 other superyacht interiors designed) and RWD (64 other superyacht interiors designed) - she is built with a Teak deck, a Steel hull, and Aluminium superstructure.

IJE is in the top 5% by LOA in the world. She is one of 70 motor yachts longer than 100m.

IJE is currently sailing under the Marshall Islands flag, the 5th most popular flag state for superyachts with a total of 436 yachts registered. IJE Yacht – Sophisticated $200M Superyacht

IJE yacht was built by the well-known Italian ship and boat building company Benetti and delivered in 2019.

With her 108 metres (354 ft) length, she currently ranks 34th on the list of largest yachts in the world. She is also the longest yacht ever built by Benetti.

Benetti not only built the IJE yacht, but they also worked on designing the yacht interior. The layout is reminiscent of a cozy beach house with luxurious elements that take the design to the next level.

There is a private owner’s deck onboard IJE with access to a separate side deck.

Twenty guests can stay on board IJE yacht in ten luxurious and spacious suites. The yacht has a dedicated movie theatre, nightclub, and an elevator between the four decks.

The gym is not only equipped with the latest equipment, but it is also a real eye-catcher and is located on the lower deck of the IJE yacht.

One side wall folds down completely to double the size of the gym, and a ladder into the water invites you to cool off after your workout.

A well-trained crew of up to 28 people takes care of everything in and around the vessel.

Specifications

Two MTU twin engines power IJE with 2,880 kW each. She achieves top speeds of 21 knots and can reach distances of over 6,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 16 knots.

The 108-meter yacht is also equipped with an additional system from Schottel, which allows low-noise and low-vibration auxiliary propulsion that guarantees better maneuverability.

IJE has a fuel tank of up to 365,000 liters and a freshwater tank of 85,000 liters, which is an advantage for longer distances.

The exterior of IJE was designed by world-renowned ship designer RWD, whose goal is to create each yacht with “exceptional beauty and elegance.”

There is space for two tenders up to 12 meters long that can be launched by crane on the foredeck.

A fireplace was installed as a focal point on the bridge deck, and on the main deck, a pool surrounded by spacious open-air dining with an additional lounge and bar welcomes guests. A side garage opens up and becomes a berth for four jet skis.

The IJE yacht also carries water toys such as seabobs, water skis, kayaks, and snorkeling equipment. The designated observation deck offers stunning views of the surrounding ocean and landscape.

IJE was transferred from Benetti to the owner for a price of approximately US $200 million in 2019. The superyacht is currently listed for sale at a price of US $175 million.

Benetti's 108m Giga Yacht IJE Listed for Sale with Burgess

With a week to go until the opening of the Monaco Yacht Show, Burgess has announced its appointment as Central Agent for the sale of the spectacular 108m giga yacht IJE. IJE is the largest yacht confirmed for the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show. 

Built as the ultimate world-cruising family yacht, IJE was launched in 2019 as a custom superyacht built by Bennetti at its Livorno shipyard in the north-west of Italy. With a range of 6,500 nautical miles at cruising speed, this 108m giga yacht has true world cruising credentials with the added comfort and luxury of being designed to accommodate family.

Her timeless sculptural exterior was devised by the talented and sought after designers of RWD, the boundary pushing British yacht design studio. Her interior, designed by Benett and decorated by RWD, incorporates a relaxed beach-house style to add to the family ambience of the giga yacht.

At 108m, IJE is the longest yacht ever to be delivered from the Italian shipbuilders and thus it is unsurprising that Benetti has dedicated her the flagship of its enviable custom built fleet.

IJE was delivered in 2019 to a very experienced yacht owner, and this is the first time she has been on the market since her delivery. Her key features include: accommodation for 22 guests across eleven cabins and a private owner’s deck. Full height sliding glass walls in both the main deck and bridge deck saloons so as to connect guests to their ocean surroundings and magnify the beach-house interior theme. Plus a generous onboard swimming pool, dedicated gym, cinema and nightclub.

Describe IJE

The owner has a dream build team, one that has built several yachts. Each is a remarkable achievement and IJE, it's safe to say, tops them all. She is a tour de force and the longest Benetti ever built.

The briefest glance will tell you that the beautifully balanced exterior lines bear the distinctive signature of sought-after star studio RWD. The owner's team worked very closely with them to perfect the look of decks seeming to float one above the other.

Inside she has wonderfully informal beach-house style, airy, welcoming and restful, which is perfect for a family yacht. Another stamp of excellence is expert naval architecture by PierLuigi Ausonio.

Most appealing features?

In the main saloon the full-height glass walls can slide back to open the space up. The difference that makes is hard to explain but it completely changes the environment.

Sound becomes softer and you can hear the sea, the air and light change to make it a shaded outside space. The entire experience is so much more restful. It's a break-through piece of design.

The main deck aft has a good-sized pool, open-air dining, a bar, several different lounge areas including a TV lounge - everything families need to spend the day together. 

There's a fully equipped lower deck gym with one of the largest sea terraces I've seen on a yacht of this size, and opposite is the tender and toy garage, which is packed with the latest kit.

She has two 12m (40ft) tenders on the foredeck to take extended families ashore together. That longer length means they're faster, more comfortable, carry more people and equipment and have better range.

There are eleven cabins for 22 guests, including a private owner's deck with walkaround sidedecks and a bedroom suite with direct access to the foredeck helipad.

An elevator connects lower to bridge decks and there is corridor access from the lower deck lobby to the beach club so that all generations of the family can enjoy step-free time together.

There's a dedicated cinema, a very private nightclub complete with fully equipped bar, lighting and sound systems and DJ station, and a bridge deck games room with access to the aft deck's firepit lounge.

The main deck has a beauty treatment room and hair salon and a massage room equipped to double as a hospital. She has everything any family could want or need for extended cruising.

Need to know?

Right from the start, she was intended to be a world-cruising family yacht, one that could take the owner and their family cruising in any part of the world, places where the weather is not always reliable. To keep everyone on board comfortable, underway or at anchor, she has two sets of Naiad stabilisers.

In more and more locations anchoring is not allowed to protect reefs and seabeds so she has been fitted with a Rolls-Royce dynamic positioning system to hold position without having to anchor. 

Operating in the Mediterranean, yachts are generally well catered for and there are plenty of diversions ashore. When you get off the beaten track, which IJE was designed and built to be able to do, the infrastructure can become indifferent, distances greater, comfort and entertainment on board more important.

IJE delivers the same seven-star experience anywhere in the world. She has always been professionally maintained and was designed to facilitate regular maintenance - another benefit of built-in experience. She is a remarkable achievement and her next owner will be the first to appreciate that.

What are I J P E and what do they mean to me?

I know that these are the dimensions of my sail plan but what do they actually measure? And other than when I am ordering a new sail, when will I use this info? Are these numbers that I should be memorizing? (More likely, saving in my phone).  

Aside from when ordering sails, you will usually need to report them if you race and are applying for a rating certificate for your boat. But there's no real need to commit them to memory. Reason for the trouble with links to other sites While a bit late for this thread, this might help other people having difficulties trying to link to web pages outside Sailnet. The problem lies with the fact that Sailnet uses the BASE tag in the HEAD section of its web pages. The web browser then assumes any link that doesn't start with "http" followed by a colon and two forward slashes is a link to another page on the Sailnet forum site. The web browser then automatically adds the Sailnet forum address to the start of the link address, resulting in a broken link. Hover your mouse over a few of the links in the earlier messages above and look at what shows up in your status bar and you'll see what I mean. RULE: Always put "http" followed by a colon and two forward slashes at the start of an external link address. I've had to use "http followed by a colon and two forward slashes" in place of the correct protocol descriptor as Sailnet won't yet let me post with links. If you don't know what I meant by that, look at the Sailnet web address in the location box at the top of your browser- It starts with "http", followed by a colon and two forward slashes. I just finished putting together a page with dimensions and sail area calculations for thousands of boats. Not a unique list but follow the link to a page specific to the boat with sail area calculations in addition to the boat dimensions. Boat Dimensions

sailboatdata.com is another excellent site. My data source is completely independent of them so it is worth comparing them as errors can show up on any of these lists. Allen  

Great project Allen, but there are a number of problems with spinnaker square footages on several boats that I took a quick look at including my own boat, an Express 34. (you need to define builders... Alsberg Expresses are very different than the Canadian Expresses) Racing Symmetrical Spinnaker = 1.8 x JSP x ISP = 150 sq ft Racing Asymmetrical Spinnaker = 1.8 x JSP x ISP= 150 sq ft Cruising Asymmetrical Spinnaker = 1.65 x JSP x ISP = 137 sq ft I can tell you, all our symmetrical spinnakers are all much larger than 150 sq ft. That's even less area than our #4 jib. Am I not reading your information correctly?  

Mark, Probably the same reason my Jeanneau Arcadia has a spin at 124#, NO listing for the JSP or ISP. The program does not auto entry the P or J figure as the spin figure. Not sure HOW many boats are this way, but will swag a BUNCH! Marty  

The bug is fixed (I hope). Try it now. The program was auto entry I and J, but not correctly. Hopefully it is correct now. I apologize for the error and thank you for pointing it out. As I said before, there are a lot of sites with dimensions and all of them have errors as far as I can tell. It is best to compare them and see if they agree. While that doesn't guarantee accuracy, if every site is different, you know you have a problem. I added pages using the PHRF database so there is now another source of data. Some of what is given on the PHRF database is different as well so there is additional information on it. I included definitions of terms as well on the pages. Figure out your rig dimensions when it comes to your sails.

The basic rig dimension for a yacht are generally understood. However, there are some differences in how some sailors describe these dimensions. Here is how we define them at North Sails.

I – Height of Foretriangle Elevation of Forestay, measured down to elevation of main shrouds at sheer line.

J – Base of Foretriangle Horizontal distance measured from front face of mast at deck to position of headstay at sheer line.

P – Mainsail Hoist Elevation of upper mast band or maximum main halyard position, measured down to lower mast band or top of boom.

E- Mainsail Foot Horizontal distance measured from aft face of mast at top of boom to boom band or maximum outhaul position.

Is – Height of Inner Foretriangle Elevation of Forestay, measured down to elevation of main shrouds at sheer line.

Js – Base of Inner Foretriangle Horizontal distance measured from front face of mast at deck to position of inner headstay at sheer line.

The GPYC is a members only club that offers an outlet for sailors, boaters and other water enthusiasts. If you're not a member, you need to know a member to get into the club, but that shouldn't dissuade you on how friendly the people there are. If you want to be a member, there are pre-requisites, such as proximity to the club and knowing someone who is already a member (sponsor). With membership, you have access to the club as well as the private boat launch/ramp. Inside the club, you'll find a magnificent bar, staffed with some phenomenal people, as well as a full service kitchen. The views from the bar of the barnegat bay and Toms River are soecatcular, by far some of the best in the area. The food is good and the drinks are plentiful....it's a great spot in the area. They also care about the community, with sponsorships for a lot of local organizations as well as the police department. This club is a great place for the community and it's members are some of the nicest people on the Toms River!

The weather may be turning a bit chilly, but for boaters seeking a taste of fall striped bass season, a new boat ramp will be open soon , officials said.

The new ramp will be located across from the Gilford Park Yacht Club in a space that was formerly used as a baseball diamond. The ramp will provide access to Dillon’s Creek, which empties into the Toms River and ultimately Barnegat Bay.

“Unfortunately, this project is a little behind schedule,” said Township Engineer Robert Chankalian. “The contractor is not hitting his deadline, but most of the work has been completed.”

Converting a long unused township park — once a baseball diamond, now overgrown and with cracked asphalt — off Garfield Avenue into the boat ramp will allow boats up to 35-feet access to the creek that divides Toms River with Island Heights, said Chankalian.

Chankalian said the public boat ramp would accommodate powerboats and sailboats as well as kayaks and canoes, and would likely be unstaffed and not have any cost for a user to access it. The project cost about $1 million.

“Right now, you can see the docking, decking and elevated walkway is complete,” said Chankalian at a township council meeting this week. “The only thing left is paving the parking lot and [installing] the light poles.”

A new boat ramp, dock, decking and parking spaces for oversized vehicles (big enough for trucks and SUVs with boat trailers attached) have been installed.

The construction of the ramp was opposed by some members of the yacht club, whose members pay to use their facilities. The project received approval, however, largely based on the fact that the yacht club’s opposition was economic in nature rather than an environmental concern.

Chankalian said the ramp should be open to the public within the next 30 days.

Does gilford park have a bad reputation, police, council, residents weigh in, noreen kohl , neighbor.

To some, Gilford Park’s reputation is that of a nice part of town, on the water with its own yacht club and marina. For others, Gilford Park remains stigmatized as an unsafe neighborhood. Toms River Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy said recent criticism and banter online was sparked by misinformation of a that happened on Gilford Avenue several weeks ago, located in a section of Toms River known as Windsor Park. Gilford Park is the section of Toms River located south of Route 37, between the borough of Island Heights and bridge to Seaside Heights, according to Toms River’s planning department. Mastronardy said that incidents of crime occur in Gilford Park, as is true for any other part of town. However, Mastronardy said it is not “in the interest of fairness” to associate Gilford Park with crime. Mastronardy said that most of the problems that police have in Gilford Park are with rental units. “There’s certain houses and certain streets...its like anything else,” Mastronardy said. Recent criticism suggests that Gilford Park is looked down upon by Toms River residents who associate lower income areas with crime and unruliness. Township Clerk and Toms River Historian Mark Mutter said he cannot comment on the negative commentary. “Its an outstanding part of town--as are all parts of town,” said Mutter speaking on Gilford Park. When asked if Gilford Park’s negative reputation is one with which he is familiar, Toms River town planner Jay Lynch said Gilford Park “certainly doesn’t carry that reputation” in his office. The negative reputation, Lynch said, “doesn’t really reflect the character of the district.” “It’s not an area, in my mind, that has a positive or negative reputation,” said Lynch. Toms River Councilman at Large, John Sevastakis said that Gilford Park’s reputation of being unsafe has sparked the recent commentary. Sevastakis, who has been building homes in Gilford Park since 1995, said the fact that the recent shooting did not actually occur in Gilford park, but that it has sparked controversy about the area, speaks to public opinion about Gilford Park. “People speaking of it don’t live there,” said Sevastakis, who advocates for Gilford Park. “I think the consensus is the area is getting a bad rap,” said Sevastakis. When asked if he thought the recent shooting makes the Gilford Avenue area a particularly dangerous part of town, Sevastakis said, “these things can happen anywhere.” Sevastakis is proud of the work he has done in Gilford Park and of how the neighborhood has improved over the years. “I feel the area is changing for the better,” he said. Many of the older, dilapidated homes have been demolished and replaced by new construction. A drive through Gilford Park reveals some new construction as well as older, quaint bungalow style homes, many of which have served as the summer home for families two to three generations back.   Sevastakis remarked on the marina and yacht club which he said help to make Gilford Park a nice place to live. “It's just unfortunate that there are some areas that are not desirable,” he said. Sevastakis believes the negative feelings about Gilford Park are harboured by owners of newer homes who are concerned for their safety and wellbeing. As far as crime goes, Sevastakis said Gilford Park is “generally safe.” Sevastakis would like to see stronger code enforcement on some of the neglected lots throughout Gilford Park. “People negatively perceive homes that aren’t kept,” said Sevastakis. “Police should get repeat offenders,” said Sevastakis in reference to residents and landlords who fail to keep homes up to code, by lacking in minor areas such as yard upkeep. Sevastakis also faults “no show landlords” who fail to properly screen renters. The lots average about 40 by 100 feet, according to the planning board. “As a result, the housing stock is small,” said Lynch. A section of Toms River that started off as seasonal housing, Gilford Park is becoming more of a year round residential neighborhood. “Most of the area is very much all single homes,” said Lynch. Any lots that may have two single family homes on them were built before the 1950’s. Lynch said that current zoning regulation does not permit more than one home to be built per lot. The lots average about 40 by 100 feet, said Lynch. Gilford Park, to some, has a negative reputation. Others, like Sevastakis, continue to advocate for the area and insist it is an ever improving neighborhood. “I would live there in a heartbeat,” said Sevastakis.

“Breakfast & Lunch among friends”

The Breakfast Club has been a locally-owned Moscow breakfast staple for 12 years. The food is delicious, and the portions are appropriate (not gigantic). They have stuffed biscuits and gravy which is biscuits cut in half with eggs and bacon in the middle, covered in in-house made sausage gravy. If you are ever in Moscow in the wee hours of the morning, this is the place to stop!!!

The basic parameters of comparative tests of UO 2 fuel pellets produced by the technology of powder metallurgy for aftersinterability using their repeated thermal treatment (aftersintering) in different gas media, namely, with and without humidification, are presented. The results of an evaluation of the level of aftersinterability of these pellets by different procedures is presented, they are analyzed, and a substantiation of the expediency of using this operation manual for evaluating afersintering without the humidification of the gas medium developed at the OAO Machine Building Works (MSZ), Elektrostal’, Moscow oblast, is presented.

NPR C.E.O. Faces Criticism Over Tweets Supporting Progressive Causes

Katherine Maher, who took over the public network last month, posted years ago on Twitter that “Donald Trump is a racist.”

Katherine Maher, the chief executive of NPR, is facing online criticism for years-old social media posts criticizing former President Donald J. Trump and embracing liberal causes.

The posts, published on the social media platform Twitter, which is now called X, were written before she was named chief executive of NPR in January. They resurfaced this week after an essay by an NPR staff member who argued that the broadcaster’s leaders had allowed liberal bias to taint its coverage.

“Also, Donald Trump is a racist,” read one of Ms. Maher’s posts in 2018, which has since been deleted. Another post, from November 2020 , shows Ms. Maher wearing a hat with the logo for the Biden presidential campaign.

“Had a dream where Kamala and I were on a road trip in an unspecified location, sampling and comparing nuts and baklava from roadside stands,” Ms. Maher wrote , an apparent reference to Vice President Kamala Harris. “Woke up very hungry.”

Ms. Maher, who had not worked in the news industry before joining NPR, was the chief executive of the Wikimedia Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the popular online resource Wikipedia, when she wrote many of the posts that were now being criticized.

An NPR spokeswoman, Isabel Lara, said in a statement that Ms. Maher “was not working in journalism at the time and was exercising her First Amendment right to express herself like any other American citizen.”

NPR also said that Ms. Maher had upheld the network’s code of ethics since she was appointed.

“Since stepping into the role she has upheld and is fully committed to NPR’s code of ethics and the independence of NPR’s newsroom,” the statement said. “The C.E.O. is not involved in editorial decisions.”

Ms. Maher said in a statement that in America, “everyone is entitled to free speech as a private citizen.” She heralded the network’s commitment to independent reporting and called on Americans to “listen, watch and read our work.”

“What matters is NPR’s work and my commitment as its C.E.O.: public service, editorial independence and the mission to serve all of the American public,” Ms. Maher said. “NPR is independent, beholden to no party, and without commercial interests.”

Much of the discussion about the posts has emanated from conservative critics after the publication of an opinion column in The Free Press, a popular Substack publication. In the column, Uri Berliner, a senior business editor at NPR, said that “people at every level of NPR have comfortably coalesced around the progressive worldview.”

Mr. Berliner’s essay stunned his co-workers, who were unaccustomed to seeing NPR’s journalism excoriated by a long-serving editor. The essay was addressed internally at a lunch with Ms. Maher and the hosts of NPR’s popular programs, including “All Things Considered,” and more than a half-hour of a “Morning Edition” meeting was occupied by a discussion of Mr. Berliner’s criticisms.

Several NPR employees have taken to Twitter to criticize Mr. Berliner’s essay. Eric Deggans, the public network’s TV critic, faulted Mr. Berliner for not seeking comment from NPR before publishing his essay. Scott Detrow, the weekend host of “All Things Considered,” called attention to Mr. Berliner’s numerous media appearances to discuss his essay.

“Going public to torch your workplace, then doing media hit after media hit to continue torching it, is not a thing you do when you have good-faith intentions,” Mr. Detrow wrote.

Christopher Rufo, a fellow at the conservative Manhattan Institute, called attention to many of Ms. Maher’s posts on X and shared a response from Tesla’s chief executive, Elon Musk, who had responded to one of Ms. Maher’s posts that Mr. Rufo highlighted, saying, “This person is a crazy racist!”

“If NPR wants to truly be National Public Radio, it can’t pander to the furthest-left elements in the United States,” Mr. Rufo said in an interview. “To do so, NPR should part ways with Katherine Maher.”

Ms. Maher, who started late last month, pushed back against the accusations of bias at NPR in a memo to employees last week.

“Asking a question about whether we’re living up to our mission should always be fair game: after all, journalism is nothing if not hard questions,” Ms. Maher said in the note. “Questioning whether our people are serving our mission with integrity, based on little more than the recognition of their identity, is profoundly disrespectful, hurtful, and demeaning.”

Shortly after joining NPR, Ms. Maher held a town hall-style meeting with employees to introduce herself and field questions. At one point, Ms. Maher was asked about NBC’s recent decision to give a platform to political figures like Ronna McDaniel, a former chair of the Republican National Committee. NBC cut ties to Ms. McDaniel after her hiring as an on-air commentator caused an internal uproar, with many journalists at the network upset about her handling of Mr. Trump’s false claims that the 2020 election was rigged.

“I think that the most effective way that I have seen this play out is, if you’re bringing somebody into a story that is pushing a deliberate distortion, be extraordinarily well-prepared to push back and very prepared with the information necessary, the irreducible facts,” Ms. Maher said.

The classic red route The red route covers the historical center of Paris. There are 10 stops along the tour, allowing you to hop on or off whenever you wish so you can visit the most iconic places and sites of the city. Aboard the bus, you can admire the architecture of the monuments that make Paris one of the most beautiful cities in the world. You'll travel through characteristic neighborhoods and cross the Seine over the stunning old bridges that are an integral part of the history of Paris. 

You'll listen to an audio commentary in the language of your choice on personal headphones.Throughout his tour, you'll hear the history and detailed descriptions of different Parisian sites as they appear before your very eyes. On your journey you'll be sure to recognize famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, L'Opéra Garnier, Notre-Dame de Paris, the Musée d'Orsay or the Champs-Elysées.

I will be taking the Eurostar from London to Paris in May, on a Saturday, arriving at approx 16:45. At about 30-mins prior to arrival, I am planning to use the G7 Taxi app to book my ride to my hotel in the 6th while on the Eurostar. The Pick-up point will be at Burger King (25, Rue de Dunkerque) across the street from Gar du Nord.

Will this be feasible or possible? I am checking whether the taxi be able to pick us up at that location, in case some roads are restricted to vehicular traffic around Gare du Nord .

No one can answer your pick up location question for sure.

Why not just get a regular taxi at the station?

And look at G7 reviews.

All the taxis that depart from the regular taxi line are subject to the same fares and rules. G7 is just another taxi firm that is larger, but no better or worse than the others.

I want to avoid the usual problems :

Not my first time in Paris , so I am aware of usual tricks the taxi drivers use.

But it will be my first time that I would like to try to use the G7 app and trying to figure the most convenient pick-up point. haha....

Calling G7 would not necessarily prevent a driver from trying 1) or 2) or another trick.

You can never be sure of your actual arrival time on Eurostar. It is not as reliable as it used to be (in my experience).

Don't forget any surcharge for a phone reservation.

The fact that you are aware of the usual tricks suggests that you are assertive enough to call out any shenanigans.

I don't think this plan is worth the effort.

You could always arrange a non-taxi pickup where a driver will be glad to meet you -- for a hefty price.

I'm with YakkinYeti. Booking a taxi is no indicator that the driver won't try to fleece you. It just isn't. I've had a couple of G7 drivers try it in the past.

Just take a taxi from the rank. If you feel the need to use the app, do it on the return trip to either the airport or GdN.

There is nothing special about G7 taxis. It is just the biggest company. Any other taxi company is likely to be fine.

Booking that way doesn't give you a price, right? So maybe you are assuming G7 drivers are all non-crooks.

A fixed rate wouldn't be that bad if it were a good fixed rate, actually. When I've taken a taxi from there to Montparnasse once, it cost a lot because there was so much traffic in the center. If it were fixed at the same rate as the airport, obviously that wouldn't be a deal.
