The 43m/141'1" 'Emotion²' motor yacht built by the Italian shipyard CRN is available for charter for up to 10 guests in 5 cabins. This yacht features interior styling by Italian designer Zuccon.

Boasting an array of sumptuous living areas laid out invitingly to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere onboard, motor yacht Emotion² is the perfect luxury charter yacht for friends and family.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2007, Emotion² offers guest accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising a master suite, two VIP cabins, one double cabin and one twin cabin. There are 7 beds in total, including 4 king and 2 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 9 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

A charter on Emotion² is comfortable and convenient thanks to the provided amenities, notably a sauna to help you detox and regenerate. A gym with all the latest equipment is available for a good work out plus retreat to the deck jacuzzi and soak up the scenery.

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you, notably Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. Guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Performance & Range

Built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 2,200 nautical miles from her 50,000 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

Emotion² knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with an extensive selection of action packed water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. Principle among these is a Flyboard which is a must for any self-respecting thrill-seeker, prepare for supersize thrills - even beginners will enjoy the thrill of swooping skywards and ‘dolphining’ back into the water. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Additionally, there are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. If that isn't enough Emotion² also features a seabob, wakeboards, kayaks, fishing equipment, kneeboards. When it comes to Tenders, Emotion² has you covered - with two tenders, including a 4m/13'1" RIB.

Emotion² is available upon request for charter this winter. She is already accepting bookings this summer for cruising in the Mediterranean.

A superb Italian-built superyacht from CRN Ancona, 139ft (43m) EMOTION 2 has been cleverly designed to maximise space and masterfully refit to incorporate the very latest in technology and design which will thrill her 10 charter guests as they cruise the gorgeous Greek Islands.

The expansive sun deck is the place to relax with a choice of jacuzzi, sun pad area, adjoining bar and outdoor cinema with 70-inch drop down TV screen plus the latest sound system.

EMOTION 2 has multiple options for entertaining across her three decks including a sizable upper saloon complete with its own bar, state-of-the-art entertainment system plus a covered alfresco dining area.

On the main deck, formal indoor dining is a cosy affair around a sophisticated glass table, on deck a breakout area is perfect for relaxed after dinner cocktails.

For absolute comfort at sea, while underway or at anchor, EMOTION 2 has zero speed stabilizers.

Zuccon International Project and Laura Pomponi where responsible for her cool, contemporary interiors. Fusing cherry wood with a neutral colour palette and adding splashes of red in her soft furnishings, she has a relaxed and inviting ambience, ideal for an intimate charter with family or friends.

On the upper deck, there’s a massive undercover dining space which flows into the skylounge with onyx-backlit bar, lounges and entertainment system for cosy socialising.

The main aft deck is another brilliant lounge area which leads into the main saloon, comprising elegant lounge and separate formal dining room and its breathtaking onyx wall.

EMOTION 2 is equipped with an impressive new movie server with 700 movies and guests can plug in their movies too. There are iPads in each cabin, Apple TV and Airplay.

For the fitness conscious, EMOTION 2 offers a comprehensive gym with Technogym equipment: Personal Kinesis machine (wall mounted electric weight machine), running machine and exercise bike, plus a sauna for total relaxation.

ACCOMMODATION

EMOTION 2 offers impeccable accommodation for up to 10 guests in five cabins: one full beam master suite located on the main deck complete with walk-in dressing room, office and a balcony with bath and plasma glass for privacy. On the lower deck are two VIP suites, one double and one twin, each with ensuite.

WATERTOYS & TENDERS

For the ultimate charter experience, EMOTION2 offers a plethora of water toys on-water fun for all the family. Golf fanatics and those eager to try will love the golf driving facility which uses biodegradable balls and FunAir floating golf green.

There’s a 9.9m Boston Whaler 320 Outrage towed behind the boat for fishing and onshore excursions, and a 4m RIB tender for towing watertoys, as well as a 2-seater Yamaha jetski Cruiser, and 3-seater Yamaha FX Cruiser, four SeaBobs, kayaks, SUPS, a Jetsurf, Flyboard, waterskis, kneeboard, wakeboard, snorkelling and fishing gear. EMOTION 2 is a certified RYA centre for jetskis.

A great Nautibuoy inflatable dock platform extends the bathing platform for additional space or launching area for jetskis. For onshore exploration, guests can use the two Gocycle electric bikes.

Her amazing crew of nine charter professionals are respected for their smooth service and the Chef onboard is acclaimed for his flair and creativity, ensuring guests onboard EMOTION 2 will be truly spoiled during their charter.

Luxury motor yacht EMOTION 2 (ex EMERALD STAR) was built in 2007. She is the exceptional work of the CRN shipyard and Zuccon International Project firm interior design. EMOTION 2 comprises the elegance of the CRN 128 model planning hull with the function, practicality and luxury of the popular 54m CRN displacement yacht. With the refit in 2017, this yacht offers lavish interior with accommodation for ten guests in 5 cabins.

EMOTION 2 is a fine example of intelligent craftsmanship and offers the functionality and range of amenities of a much larger yacht, with no compromise to space and comfort. Both her external and internal design have been skilfully arranged. At 43m, she is both luxurious and intimate. The interior design is contemporary, light and subtle allowing guests to relax and entertain in style. Light cherry wood has been used throughout and is complemented by fresh, cool furnishings and materials.

EMOTION 2 Specifications

On deck, the EMOTION 2 yacht offers three entertainment decks, complete with alfresco dining for 12 guests, lounge areas over all three decks and sunpads or sunchairs over two. Her sundeck covers 100 sq metres and is the ideal outdoor area for entertaining with a Spa Pool spa, bar, and barbeque. Some of her unique features include the transom terrace and the owner suite balcony, both of which are renown with CRN designs. The transom terrace conceals a fully-fitted gymnasium behind tinted doors. Guests can exercise in air-conditioned comfort before stepping straight out onto the swimming platform, to cool off in the refreshing sea.

Powered by two CAT C-32C 1,400 hp engines, EMOTION 2 can reach a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Yacht Accommodation

EMOTION 2 can comfortably accommodate ten guests in five cabins. These include a full-width Owner's suite on the main deck, stylishly furnished and equipped with a spacious full-beam ensuite bathroom and a private balcony terrace. On the lower deck, there are four guests cabins comprised of three doubles and one twin cabin with Pullman. All cabins offer private ensuite bathrooms and entertainment facilities.

The Emotion 2 Yacht

The Emotion 2 yacht is the ultimate luxury experience. The 2007-born craft offers everything one might want in a modern yacht. The origin of the Emotion 2 motor yacht

Emotion 2 was built by CRN Ancona, an Italian shipbuilder. For enhancements, the superyacht was refitted in 2012 and later in 2017, making it modern in every way. With state-of-the-art technology and posh amenities, the Emotion 2 motor yacht is the finest example of luxury yachts.

Size, speed and strength

The Emotion 2 super yacht sails with 2 Caterpillar engines of 1500Hp. With a massive built and steady sail, the yacht cruises at a speed of 14 knots and can reach a maximum limit of 15.6 knots. The range of the enormous vessel is around 4,000 nautical miles, and it has an immense capacity of carrying 50,000 liters of fuel and 7,000 liters of water for a long uninterrupted sail.

Architecture and design

CRN Ancona designed the naval architecture. Along with brilliant construction, an Advanced Full Stability System is also included in the build to limit the swaying of the vessel when anchored or when the water is choppy. The entire architecture is designed to ensure smooth sailing throughout the journey. Its design is similar to that of Majesty yachts Dubai , which combine aesthetics with performance.

Zuccon International Project has designed both the interior and exterior of the vessel. While the exterior is dashing and finished with a sophisticated touch, the interior is inviting and perfect for intimate gatherings with family and friends.

Hull and superstructure

To maintain stability throughout the sail, the builders have included a GRP hull and GRP superstructure. Glass Reinforced Plastic, or GRP, is corrosion free and can quickly adapt to the structure’s shape. The owner’s suite

Located forward the main deck is the owner’s suite. Apart from a king-size bed, it has a walk-in wardrobe, a hers-and-his bathroom, and a shared shower area. There is also a bath on the balcony as a part of the starboard. An office area is placed adjacent to the suite with quality furnishings. The decor is of a red tone to go with the rest of the interior.

Other cabins are placed on the lower deck with enough privacy for each room. One double cabin, one twin cabin and two VIP suites with en-suite facilities to make the passengers feel at home.

Luxury yacht skipper loses $400k in scam, faces accused ‘money mule’ in court, says deception ruined his life

Sitting in court just metres from the man accused of laundering his stolen $400,000, Tim Michalick felt disgust and “burning hot anger”.

“It was really stressful. I just can’t describe my hatred towards that person. In my opinion, he’s the lowest of the low.”

Michalick, 43 - a luxury yacht skipper based in Kerikeri - thought his family’s life savings were being invested in a low-risk term deposit with HSBC bank.

In fact his money had been sent to an account allegedly controlled by a disbarred Auckland lawyer who is now facing 11 money laundering charges and, if convicted, up to seven years in jail.

Michalick lost the money in January last year and realised he’d been scammed the following month. He said the last 13 months had been a roller coaster of emotions as he came to terms with the sophisticated fraud and tried to navigate a banking regulatory system which he compares to “Swiss cheese.

“This has ruined my f***en life. It’s been so hard and I’ve been on a steady decline since [being scammed]. It’s really turned my life upside down.

“I’ve got the court case coming up. I’m just struggling at the moment to be honest. I ran out of steam at the end of last year and I’ve been running off fumes.”

The Herald revealed Michalick’s story in an investigation last June . At the time he remained anonymous, concerned about the impact going public would have on his personal and professional life.

But Michalick now wants to tell his story openly due to frustrations about the banking sector’s accountability, the ability of criminals to target unsuspecting Kiwis through the country’s deficient payment system with impunity, and what he describes as a “flimsy” and ineffective Banking Ombudsman Scheme leaving some victims without hope.

“All the reasons why I didn’t go public initially still apply. But do I sit back and miss out on opportunities to tell New Zealand what’s going on, or do I go hell for leather to do my bit for all those poor people who are going to be taken advantage of?

“I would be doing the banks a favour if I didn’t come forward.”

‘Sick to my stomach’

Michalick sent his money from his ASB account to what he thought was a Kiwibank “cooling off” account set up under his own name - writing “HSBC term deposit” in the payment reference field.

After Michalick alerted the banks and police to the fraud, Kiwibank was able to recover about half the money. The rest was allegedly used by the suspected mule to pay private school fees or transferred to other accounts.

When the $200,000 was refunded, Kiwibank included the company’s name that received Michalick’s money. He Googled it to find the sole director was the disgraced lawyer whose career downfall had been reported by media.

He is still shocked this man was able to open an account and allegedly use it to conduct criminal activity without being detected by Kiwibank’s fraud security systems.

“The fact he was allegedly operating this long without any oversight from the bank makes me sick to my stomach.”

Michalick handed a dossier of information about the man to police but it took months for stretched fraud investigators to lay charges.

Michalick also complained to the Banking Ombudsman about why a supposed HSBC term deposit payment going to Kiwibank did not raise suspicions with ASB, and about what he believes was Kiwibank “harbouring” a mule account that was allegedly used to launder stolen money.

The Banking Ombudsman dismissed the complaint about ASB, ruling the bank was not at fault. Regarding Kiwibank, the Banking Ombudsman said its current remit prevented it from investigating the actions of receiving banks.

Deflated, Michalick sought a review, but the Banking Ombudsman declined to reopen his complaint this month.

He also complained to the Reserve Bank, claiming Kiwibank had breached anti-money laundering rules through alleged failures to check the customer’s background or monitor the account activity to prevent fraud.

However, the Reserve Bank found Kiwibank was not at fault.

Michalick told the Herald he believed the regulatory system was utterly deficient, with victims left to carry the blame.

“They’re allowing customers to operate without any scrutiny or restrictions on their banking activity and there’s no one I can turn to to hold them to account.

“My only option is to run a private civil case against Kiwibank which costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, and that just can’t be done.”

He believed the Banking Ombudsman scheme was “completely flimsy”. Though it was meant to investigate the banks, two major banks’ CEOs were board members and the banking sector helped draft the scheme’s terms of reference, Michalick said.

He claimed complaints weren’t assessed on a “fair playing field” and believed the scheme wasn’t independent or working to protect consumer rights.

Michalick said he had drawn strength from other victims who were brave enough to tell their stories publicly.

He also thanked the Herald for its coverage, which was a “driving force” in promoting change.

Kiwibank, Banking Ombudsman respond

A Kiwibank spokeswoman said it immediately froze the recipient account when alerted to the fraud and tried to recover funds.

Kiwibank had co-operated with the police investigation and was satisfied it completed all required anti-money laundering checks and that its customer “met the requirements”.

The spokeswoman said there was nothing about Michalick’s transactions to trigger the bank’s security warnings.

Banking Ombudsman Nicola Sladden said she had considerable sympathy for scam victims who often lost life-changing amounts of money.

She strongly refuted Michalick’s criticisms.

The scheme was an independent dispute resolution body which must apply the rules in force at the time of a complaint. Current rules did not require banks to reimburse authorised payment scam victims unless the bank had missed “red flags”.

“We do not make the fraud reimbursement rules. We apply them.”

Sladden’s office had repeatedly urged the Government to review fraud reimbursement laws and strengthen consumer protections.

She said a recent review found the scheme was “highly effective” and operated with “integrity and professionalism”.

The composition of the scheme’s board gave equal representation to banks and consumers, with an independent chair casting the deciding vote.

Sladden said she was “ deeply concerned” about victims’ money being laundered through domestic mule accounts.

But her office was not responsible for supervising the anti-money laundering regime. This was the purview of the Reserve Bank, Financial Markets Authority and Department of Internal Affairs.

Under its terms of reference, her office could not investigate complaints about recipient banks, as they usually provided no “direct service” to complainants.

Receiving banks could not share information about recipient account holders due to privacy laws.

Sladden’s office was considering a review of its terms of reference to consider complaints about payee banks, but this was “likely premature” until they had clear duties to scam victims, she said.
