Much better than the times I've been here before. The fish fry was just good; breading too thick, and the fish a little over fried on both the cod and walleye dinners. Creole risotto was tasty as was the cole slaw. Special on rail old fashions tonight! We'll see if I can up the rating after trying other items on the menu.
Very poor service. Very poor meal. Will not return until changes hand again. This is a great location and needs a great chef and menu
First and foremost, the Kenosha Yacht Club is the least yacht club to ever yacht club. I love the KYC's restaurant for the friendly and attentive service, chill vibe, and happy hour prices on drinks and food. Also they finally brought back Scott and Roger, who seem to know how to actually run the place. That being said, there's still massive room for improvement. They currently have a mussel special for $18. In Kenosha. This is literally one of the cheapest seafoods available and saying it's a pound of mussels doesn't justify that price unless it's covered in saffron and champagne with a shave of truffle. Very confusing. Speaking of confusing, the menu is written poorly and inconsistently so it can be difficult to know exactly what you're getting. On my last visit one of the bartenders shook my glass of half-way decent wine over ice without asking me if that was ok. It completely ruined the wine and I would have been happy to order something else if I knew my wine was going to be bruised and (essentially) turned into cheap table wine. The place was too busy to mention it and it was half-off, but fair warning. The food is typical heavy Wisconsin fare. Would love to see a Cobb salad or something of the sort that isn't carb-drenched on the menu. If you feel comfortable charging $18 for a dish of mussels, you could easily charge $16 for that and still have a decent margin. Sorry, guys, but a salad with chicken and cheddar cheese just doesn't work post-1960 (or ever). That being said, it's a little gem of a place with friendly service, consistently great soup, and a staff who seems committed to improving the place. Worth visiting when the weather is beautiful and the spacious patio is available. Definitely recommend as long as you know what to expect.
The location of the Kenosha Yacht Club is AMAZING!! Waterfront with tons of windows and outdoor seating offers views with a cozy feel for all seasons. The management keeps changing and the restaurant always seems to run into problems. I'm not sure why no one seems to be able to make it but really someone comes in and stays. They can develop a great reputation and strong following. I stopped in one evening to meet a friend for appetizers and cocktails. They had just opened for the evening and we sat at the bar. It was quiet because it was early so we were able to chat and enjoy the view. The bartender was very pleasant and friendly. He chatted with us and stayed attentive once it became busy. We asked about the daily soup but it wasn't ready yet. Later, not long before we were about to wrap up, he brought us complimentary cups of soup. What a thoughtful gesture! We ordered two appetizers and wine. I had white and my friend had red. Everything was really tasty - especially the surprise homemade soup! I really hope this spot makes a real go of it. It really should be on everyone's radar for the kind service, tasty food and the perfect location.
These are quite possibly the most arrogant, ignorant people running a restaurant I have ever seen. We arrived about 4:30 and even though their website said they were open, the place looked closed, my wife walked in and was told they were in fact open and would send a waitress outside to where we were sitting. That's it. That's all they said. When the waitress came out and then told us because they had a "big party" all they were serving was fish and chips!! What does a party have to do with it? And who's running this asylum? Apparently the kitchen!! It's sad because this is a great location with water views, the food is very good since they hired a new chef. It could be a gold mine for lack of management who appreciates their customers. Did what we do every time we go there and find a new drama brewing. We went across the way to the Boathouse!! Food not as good but much more peaceful!
BIG OLD GOOSE EGG FOR THIS PLACE 0 ZEROS!!!!!! WOW, if you are hungry DO NOT GO HERE!!' For being out of state looked good okay. Well looks is not what they seem. Start off, I myself had to get our drinks for a table of 8. NO waiter to serve us I had to get our silverware myself and ketchup and mustard. The food was a JOKE!!!! Burgers JOKE!!!! Shrimp scampi JOKE!!! I ordered Berchetta that was a big mistake!!! Prime Rib JOKE!!!! This place is NOT a place to have dinner at all. Worst ever!!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!! Bartender and waiter and that's it on a night for a band!!! Pictures attached!!! BIG FAT 0 for stars

Called to make a reservation for that evening (we have never been there and did not know what to expect)...when we arrived the place was a ghost town. Some guy at the bar told us to sit anywhere. When the server came out she said "oh someone was suppose to call you, but we are all out of food." My husband and I got a good chuckle out of it and chalked it up dive with a good view.
We made reservations for 6 pm for 10, but very little help. Took quite awhile to get service but visiting so didn't mind too much. The fish n Chips we're so horrible I could not eat past one disgusting bite. The cook came out and admitted they hadn't changed the oil. It was to be done the next day. Horrid taste and smell, soaked w old oil. Hamburger was cold! Had water for a long time w no napkins or silverware so wet table. Got food still before silverware or napkins. View is beautiful and they were nice about changing foods. We've eaten there last summer and everything was good. Oil should be changed often not on a certain day of the week when it's rancid. Hopefully they'll work at getting these things fixed so we can go back!
Another year, same terrible food. I ordered the Asian chicken salad for lunch and all I got was a plate of lettuce, cheddar cheese, Chinese noodles and cold pre-packaged grilled chicken. Half of the ingredients listed on the menu were missing. I could make a better salad at home. Credit card machine and ATM were not working due to internet issues. Glad I had enough cash in my purse to cover the bill.
Pretty view of the harbor but it wasn't anything to write home about or say much more.

Kenosha Yacht Club Restaurant & Bar
Ratings and reviews, location and contact.
It was an easy to get to place which served fish. The fish and chips were lousy. The fish was over fried and dry. The coleslaw was warm and the chips and salsa with queso so over priced A 1/4 cup of barely warm cheese... for $2, 1/4 cup of salsa and 2 cups of chips for a total of $14. My wives meal wasn't any better. More
First time visit. Sightseeing at the Southport Light Station lighthouse and museum across the street. We entered the bar restaurant which is open to the public and saw a sign that said "go to the deck" to hostess station. This was a bit awkward because... we had to walk through tables. The hostess appeared harried. We were seated at the table next to the deck door. The view of the canal was nice. BUT, it was in the bar area, noisy, busy and every time new guests came in they stood right in front of us. The deck door opened and blasts of heat came in as well as the yellow jackets. The food selection is appetizers, salad, sandwiches and a couple "dinners". The bar was very busy and the bartenders were friendly.we placed our order, appetizer: tortilla chips with salsa and queso. The queso had a skim on top. Tasted like Velveeta. The appetizer price was $12.00 + $2.00 for the cheese. I ordered the Asian chicken salad. I asked for the drag on the side. My husband had the 2 piece fried cod dinner with Cole slaw and fries. The salad presentation was nice. The food came quickly to our table. First, the cod dinner. It was obvious that the cod had been frozen. It was possible double battered. The crust was like a turtle back, hard to crack. The Cole slaw was warm. The fries were limp. The asian salad had a good flavor with fresh greens and a good amount of chicken. BUT, it was drowning in dressing. The serving plate was actually hot to the touch. We had water and 1 can of rootbeer. The bill was $40.00. My husband killed several yellow jackets that were trying to land on our food. The staff were notified early on. Did not offer to move us, comp us, kill the yellow jackets. Disappointing. More
Ian is the new chef at the Keno Yacht Club. He has great experience and great food ideas. Day I was there Ian asked us what we liked and then went back into the kitchen to create something interesting. Stop by and ask for Ian.
My friends and I stopped here because it was conveniently located to what we were doing in Kenosha. Big mistake. First of all it took over 5 minutes to be seated, even though the restaurant was mostly empty and staff walked past us a few... times. Once finally seated we had to wait another 10 minutes before a server came to great us and take our drink orders. She also told us that they were out of half of the menu items (and I've never seen so many misspellings on a menu before). We placed our order and then waited another 40 minutes to get our food. In the meantime our drinks were never refilled. We received our food and two orders were wrong. And all of our empty were left. A friend had to go track someone down to get the table more water to have with our food. My caprese salad was fine, but the portion was extremely small, not worth $10. A couple people received food which was inedible. When we told our server she seemed annoyed and acted very rude. Needless to say, we left still very hungry and thirsty and extremely annoyed. There was plenty of staff and not that many customers, so the lack of service was unacceptable. More
This place is very very tired. Walls and Decor are dated and dusty. Bathrooms yuck. Enough said Service was really really bad. Can’t get a menu. Can’t find a waitress. Waitress seems to be chatting to much with other friends. Bayou chicken salad was not... good. Chicken chunks are dried out meat. Blue cheese was plentiful but salad served with no dressing at all. Lettuce chicken and blue cheese. That’s it. Not much of a salad. Outdoor service was not attentive at all. Outdoor table are not clean. They sticky and you arms stick to them. We use to eat here in past but this place has degraded. No need to go back until they remodel and clean. More
Love the food, try the Popperish app! Great food, service and ambience! Love the view! Highly Recommend! It’s also Open to the Public!
On Simmons Island, with a great view of the Kenosha Harbor and view to the East. Service was very good and the apatizers were very good.

About the Kenosha Yacht Club Foundation
The Kenosha Yacht Club Foundation was incorporated in the Fall of 2022, when the Kenosha Yacht Club board decided to form a non-profit organization compatible with the values and goals of the Kenosha Yacht Club, it's members and the Kenosha community.
In the Spring of 2023, the KYC Foundation recieved approval form the IRS as a 501(c)3 non-profit. In our first year, we are making great gains in accomplishing our non-profit purpose.
The purpose of the KYC Foundation is to provide the outreach, education, training, support and resources necessary to engage youth and adults in boating and other activities on and around the water, including water safety, conservation, and non-traditional participants in boating activities.
Please join us in our mission by volunteering or making a one-time or monthly donation at Zeffy.org .
To volunteer, email us at [email protected]
The KYC Foundation has pledged $500.00 to support the Indian Trail DECA 2023 Water Safety Project.
The project involved building a kiosk with information on water safety. It is by the circle between the boardwalk and the pier. After fundraising, they contracted the designer, builder and worked with the City of Kenosha on the necessary permits/approvals for placement. The KYC Foundation donated $500 to help fund their project. Please consider donating to the foundation before the end of the year, so we can help fund more projects like these in the Kenosha area.
Who is DECA? DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
If donating by check, please email our treasurer for more information.
Help us reach our goal!
