The 141m superyacht Swift141, christened 'Yas', was successfully launched by ADMShipyards in November 2011; entering the record books as both the largest launch of 2011 and most significant superyacht in recent history.

Yas’s distinctive narrow profile was built on the steel hull of a former Royal Dutch Navy Frigate built in 1978. Her frigate hull and lightweight composite superstructure help to enable the enormous vessel to reach impressive speeds of up to 26 knots.  Yas was styled inside and out by Pierrejean Design in Paris, with a strikingly graceful exterior of fluid curves and volumes, and a spectacular structural covering of glass.

Streamlined elegance is what characterises her overarching design. Ever inspired by the fluidity of water mixed with the natural inhabitants of the sea, every individual PierreJean yacht project indicates a unique and aesthetic reference.

She can comfortably accommodate up to 60 guests while modern diesel power and variable-pitch propellers assure a top speed of 26 knots, cruising speed of 20 knots, transoceanic range, and “green” fuel economy. In anticipation of her unusual speed for a yacht of this size, the project was first appropriately named “Swift141.”

YAS Yacht – High-end $180M Superyacht

The YAS yacht is a 141-meter (463 ft) superyacht that was originally a Dutch navy ship before being converted into a luxury vessel.

The price of YAS is reported to lie close to US $180 million, and she is ranked in 11th place on the list of largest superyachts in the world.

The interior of the YAS yacht was designed by Pierrejean, a French design, and architecture studio specializing in luxury aircraft and ship design.

The yacht can welcome up to 60 guests, which is impressive and rare in the superyacht industry. 56 crew members find space below the deck.

The interior of the yacht features glass elevators, a spa, a gym, and highly futuristic design elements.

The large glass dome at the front of the vessel houses the owner’s suite, which has an oval shape and is completed by a round bed.

Of course, the YAS yacht has a state-of-the-art entertainment system and is furnished using only the most high-quality materials.

Specifications

YAS is a converted Dutch navy ship that was originally constructed in 1977 and served in the military for 20 years.

At the time, she was named HNLMS Piet Hein and only measured 135 meters (442 ft).

She was eventually sold to the UAE military, where she served until 2006 and converted into a superyacht at ADM Shipyards.

YAS has little resemblance with a warship today, but she has kept her agility and speed. Despite her size, she can reach top speeds of 30 knots and sails comfortably at average speeds of 25 knots.

She was a beam of 14.4 meters (47.3 ft) and a draft of 4.75 meters (15.7 ft). Her total weight lies at 5,002 tons which can be attributed to her impressive steel hull.

She was recently refitted in Germany and relaunched in 2021.

YAS is an unusual yacht in many ways. Both her interior and exterior were designed by the French studio Pierrejean and she is said to have been modeled to resemble a dolphin with her immense glass superstructure.

She is a very long yacht with an aerodynamic shape that allows her to retain speed while still looking elegant and luxurious.

YAS has a helipad, spacious storage for water toys, and, of course, several pools on board for the enjoyment of the guests.

The original price for YAS is estimated to lie close to US $180 million, although she has since been refit which suggests that her current value might lie closer to US $200 million.

Yas: The Largest Motor Yacht of 2011

Motor yacht Yas is the largest yacht to be launched in 2011. The Yas – originally named Swift 141 – was put into active operation in the month of November 2011 by the ADM ship building conglomerate. The superyacht is regarded to be one of the most impressive and remarkable yachts that are in operation at present times.

Ranking sixth among the world’s biggest yachts, Yas is known for its construction, appearance and the feasibility it provides while cruising on water.

Re-modified from a former Dutch war vessel belonging to the 1970s, the features and specifications of the superyacht can be summarised as follows:

• Both the inner and outer designing aspect of the yacht has been carried out by the well-known French designing company, Piereejan Design
• Yas has a steel hull – remnants of the Dutch war vessel – and is built of special lighter materials and components. This allows the vessel to retain its speed even while being huger in terms of dimensions
• The maximum speed offered by the vessel is 26 knots. However at full capacity, the vessel is capable of traversing at a speed of up to 23 knots with a marine ambit of about 5,000 nautical miles
• Yas measures 141 metres lengthwise and 15 metres beam wise with a draft of 4.3 metres
• The superyacht offers an accommodation for 60 voyagers and a crew of 56 members

Another very important feature of the yacht is the providing of uninterrupted across-the-ocean vista, accentuated by a covering-glass design, throughout the vessel. The super yacht is also equipped with state-of-the-art communication and navigation systems like Sonar, satellite communicators and a special navigation system to enable smooth traversing in case of daylight inadequacy.

Operated by two diesel engines each generating a power of 21,000 horse power (HP), the superyacht’s engines and fuel are environmentally sustainable. This uniqueness by the developers has led the vessel to be highly lauded in the international maritime domain.

Yas was accorded the name Swift 141 because of the vessel’s intended superiority in terms of speed. Equipped with dependability and class, the Yas superyacht is a vessel worth exploring – not just as an admirer but also a voyager.

First look: 142m Lurssen superyacht 'Project Opus'

Once delivered later this year, the 142m (465') superyacht OPUS  will become the 10th largest yacht in the world. 

Set to hit the water in the next few days, Lurssen's 142m gigayacht Project OPUS rolled out of the shed yesterday in Lemwerder. It comes after the yacht's bare hull was officially launched last year.

As ever, the German yard has kept details about their latest superyacht under wraps; however it's known that she features interior and exterior design by Italian studio Nuvolari Lenard, and is expected to have a very unique bow. 

In terms of LOA, the 9,250 GT superyacht is Lurssen's fifth largest yacht to date. She will become the 10th largest yacht in the world when she sees delivery, knocking 141m (463') motor yacht YAS from the Top 10.

The motor yacht is known as both Project OPUS and Project Redwood, and her official name has not yet been disclosed. Unconfirmed social media reports suggest she may be called 'Lady M'; however this has not been verified. 

Project OPUS will be PYC compliant and have a range of on-board features including a sports and diving centre on the lower deck, a spacious swimming pool, two helipads and a fleet of tenders measuring up to 15 metres.

In terms of LOA, the 9,250 GT superyacht is Lurssen's fifth largest yacht to date.

Lurssen has been particularly busy recently, with their 140m (459'4)  motor yacht SCHEHERAZADE  delivered in the last few weeks and 87m (285'5) motor yacht AVANTAGE  setting off on sea trials around the same time.

It is not yet known whether Project Opus will become a charter superyacht .

Pleasantly surprised, service is good so is the food. Great selection of Fusion food, a mixture of Italian, Japanese, European, Asian etc. A pleasantly nice dining experience, highly recommended, a must try!

Best food, best view in Moscow. absolutely faultless from arrival to finish. Best risotto i had for many years absolutely perfectly cooked. The view on Ukrainian hotel and the white house by night is amazing

Had to wait for the food for 1.5 hours and then another 20 minutes for the check. Finally called for the manager and he offered... a 10% discount as a compensation. Simply pathetic! The food is mediocre at best. Not bad per se, but one... would expect something better considering the prices. There are many places to eat in area that are much better. Avoid this one at all costs. Food is very expensive,very pretentious, doesn't worth that money. Portions are very small. We ordered ravioli and there were 4! Four raviolis! For almost 15 euros. Then we asked to bring us dessert menu but nothing, they didn't even bothered, so we payed and left... without dessert. Very poor service for that price. More

This is a very good restaurant. The food is really good, maybe the best in Moscow. The service is also good. The view from the restaurant is great. The prices are very high.

I often visit this restaurant and must say it’s one of the best in Moscow in terms of quality and service. Staff really try hard to make sure that you are happy and satisfied. Customer service is a huge problem in Moscow but Chaika sets... a great example for others in the industry! Food is delicious and the menu has lots of options for everyone! Visited this lovely restaurant with a friend of mine. It was relaxingly warm August evening - so the place on the river seemed like a good idea. We came quite early and the restaurant was not full. The hostesses kindly offered several places to sit... and we chose to sit on the sofas. We had some wine, which was good. We struggled a bit when deciding about the food as few options (scallops) were not available. Fish on ice on display did not look very fresh. To be honest it was an unusually hot August and it is probably understandable that some see food options were not available. However, we did manage to order something and sat waiting and looking onto the river. My long-legged friend struggled sitting at the low sofa and the manager noticed that, offering as a very good, proper table beside the open window. It was nice touch and I was very pleased by their polite observations and immediate reaction to solve the problem. Food was quite good and presentation was perfect. Perhaps I can something about the food, but 1 visit is not enough to criticize or make a definitive opinion. Overall, quality place, which of course, does not come cheap. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. More

The luxurious atmosphere of this place, the view and the location make it quite outstanding. We had dinner here with friends and the dishes were amazing, accompanied by a chilled bottle of Chablis, it really made me feel as if it was a part of... the classic Russian movie. More
