• Moscow State University: The tallest of Moscow's Seven Sisters, it's been housing the State University since 1953, being the tallest educational building in the world with its 240m of height.

May the 4th is Star Wars Day, every year, and LEGO always delivers with a slate of brand new sets plus exclusive gifts with purchase that change every year. This year, the popular building toy is starting the celebration early on May 1.

LEGO’s official Star Wars Day event is on Saturday, May 4th (”May the FOURTH be with you,” get it?), and features the release of highly-anticipated brand new sets, such as Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “The Phantom Menace,” and the rerelease of the Ultimate Collector Series TIE Interceptor , which has not been on shelves since the year 2000. It also features special discounts for LEGO Insiders and exclusive gifts with purchase, including a limited edition Trade Federation Troop Carrier .

LEGO Insiders can access the newest sets as early as Wednesday, May 1. LEGO’s Insider rewards program lets members accumulate points to spend on exclusive rewards from LEGO.com, and access Insider-only perks like gifts with purchase.

When does the LEGO May the 4th event start?

The regular LEGO May the 4th event starts Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Insiders get early access to every new set, plus gifts with purchase, starting Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

There are seven brand new sets available for purchase, including the highly sought-after Ultimate Collectors Series TIE Interceptor. Gifts with purchase are available to Insiders as early as May 1. Everyone else can get them on May 4. Here’s the breakdown:

If you spend $160 or more on LEGO Star Wars sets from LEGO.com , you will be sent the limited edition Trade Federation Troop Carrier (40686) set. It’s valued at $29.94, and is a 262-piece set that comes with eight battle droid minifigures. This set is not available for regular purchase, so the only way to get it is as a gift with purchase.

Insiders only will also get a limited edition LEGO Star Wars Battle of Yavin coin with LEGO Star Wars purchases over $90, and, finally, all purchases over $40 will be eligible for a miniature AAT model .

You get all three gifts if you qualify for the $160 or more gift, and are a LEGO Insider member.

What Insider Discounts are there?

No additional perks or discounts have been announced, but LEGO is teasing “additional Star Wars Day promotions, new LEGO Insiders rewards, sweepstakes and more, coming 5/1-5/5″ on its website, so stay tuned.

Last year, VIPs (now Insiders) got double points on LEGO Star Wars purchases, special discounts by redeeming their points, and more.

Where can I buy the new sets?

All sets are available on  LEGO.com , and will be available on May 4th from retailers like Amazon , Walmart and Target . Early access and gifts with purchase are only available directly through LEGO.

What is May the 4th?

May the 4th is the annual holiday celebrated by Star Wars fans because “May the Fourth” sounds very like “May the Force” be with you, but with a lisp.

Lego city y nuevos complejos de parques aparecerán en Moscú

Multifunctional modern entertainment complex “Lego city” will be built on the north-west of Moscow, on the airfield Tushino, within walking distance from the metro. Construction of the complex is previewed by the capital state program “The development of industry, recreation and tourism in 2012-2016 years.”

Also in the capital will appear the new memorial in the old Simonovo, associated with the history of the Kulikov battle, the extreme sports complex in New Peredelkino, the eco-park in the Lower Mnevniki and the Exhibition Centre in the art-park “Museon”, informs the news agency RIA Novosti.

It is also envisaged to develop the valley of river Kotlovka, Kraskovsky Riverlands, Maryino park and a park of historic landscape on Khodynka.

Significant changes are planned in the Moscow Zoo. There will be two parking and a new bridge connecting the old territory with the new one. The zoo will have one more entry – by Barrikadnaya Street, the construction of the pavilion “Greenhouse” will be finished.

In addition, within the program of expanding the boundaries of Moscow, the authorities have started to adjust the capital master plan of the city until 2025 – Media Post quote the deputy mayor of the capital on urban politics and the construction Marat Khusnullin.

Enumerating objects, which in the first place lacks in the capital, Khusnullin named primarily the parking places and stores within working distance. Also the deputy mayor drew attention to the lack of ice rinks in the city. 36 rinks in Moscow is very little, – said the deputy mayor.

Take a look at what architects pitch for a redesigned Cape Coral Yacht Club

New details, photos, and a video have emerged on the proposed changes to the Cape Coral Yacht Club Community Park, changing it from an Old Florida feel to a 'Key West' vibe.

The city plans to present these updates on the Yacht Club at this week's committee of the whole meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday in council chambers at 1015 Cultural Park Blvd.

Here's what we know.

Yacht Club changes explained

Cape Coral's  Yacht Club Community Park , which includes a yacht basin, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a ballroom, and a beach, has served as a popular attraction and staple for the city since the 1960s, built and open just a few years after  the city's inception in 1957 by brothers Jack and Leonard Rosen .

In 2018, voters approved a $60 million expansion of the city's parks and amenities through the Parks and Recreation General Obligation (GO) Bond. Part of that was intended for the Yacht Club.

The Cape Coral City Council originally planned to close and begin work on renovations for the park in  2021 .

But then Hurricane Ian struck the city on Sept. 28, 2022, delaying the project with the council eventually opting to revamp the whole area, with the city pointing toward the  high cost of repairs and being over FEMA's 50% rule  as justification for moving forward with new buildings and amenities.

Longtime residents and former city officials opposed the plans - however, they could not sway the council to change its mind on the new plans.

What's featured in the new Yacht Club?

The  current plans  include a new two-story community center to replace the ballroom, removing the tennis courts, rearranging the area to accommodate a four-story parking garage, a new restaurant, and a new 14,500-square-foot resort-style pool.

Current parking at the park; including for boats, vehicles, and boat trailers, amounts to 551 total spaces.

The proposed changes would bring a four-story garage with approximately 685 parking spaces, 15 surface spaces at the main building, 46 boat trailers, and 158 boat slip spaces - totaling 904 parking spaces.

The new two-story community center would have 47,000 square feet and include a new ballroom, concession, history room, exterior balcony, storage and meeting space, and a multi-purpose hall.

Previous discussions estimate the cost of the project to be as much  as $100 million .

Demolition has begun

Cape Coral has already begun the work toward these changes as demolition started this month.

The city will demolish the main buildings and attached amenities of the Yacht Club, including the ballroom building, the Tony Rotino Center, tennis courts, pool, and harbormaster.

Johnson-Laux Construction, a full-service construction management firm that operates out of Winter Garden, has been contracted to demolish and deconstruct the Yacht Club for $987,716.04.

The firm is also tasked with  preserving a portion  of the old ballroom building, which includes interior ceiling beams, stonework, a fountain, and interior doors.

Construction will  not affect the beach area.

What's next? When's the completion?

A public meeting to review and showcase current Yacht Club designs will be held on May 7.

The city is still in the design phase and has no estimated timeframe for completion.
