What a lovely spot! So worth a visit. Everything about this place, we loved. The atmosphere, the people who work there, the menu choices, the food! Ah just amazing! Make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Five of us ate here on Saturday evening and enjoyed a terrific meal amidst a warm and friendly ambience. The food was exceptional and the service professional and charming. We were staying at ‘Rocky Waters’, in the village from which the bar and restaurant is a very short walk and I understand that Melissa has only taken over recently, she’s doing a fabulous job!

What a lovely quirky little restaurant in the most peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The meal was first class and the service was very friendly. Would highly recommend this place but book in advance.

Very pleasant, great atmosphere. There was 6 of us and it's a cosy place so definitely worth booking in advance. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked, and everyone else loved their mains, especially the cauliflower and almond curry. All starters and desserts were delicious and great choice of drinks.

This was our first visit to the yacht club having received a recommendation from friends. We were delighted with what we found. From the lovely warm welcome to the great ambience and the excellent food we couldn't have been more impressed. So pleased to have such a good restaurant just 10 minutes from our doorstep. We will definitely return and would urge others to try it out.

Booked a table for a Friday night, had a very pleasant evening. 3rd visit in as many years. Food was excellent and service friendly and efficient, would certainly book again on our next visit .

The restaurant and bar have recently re-opened with new management after seasonal closure. The food is delicious, interesting and very reasonably priced. I had prawn and chickpea fritters to start, tamarind marinated hangar steak with skinny fries and salad, and ginger pudding with caramelised apple sauce to follow. All delicious! The atmosphere is friendly and cosy and buzzing. A great evening out with friends!

We ate here on a Saturday night and were extremely pleased with the meal that we had with friends. The premises are quite small and, in a way, shabbily chic but the food was absolutely excellent and the staff very friendly, creating a very relaxed and informal atmosphere which did not detract from the excellent food at an extremely competitive prices. I had scallops (extremely well cooked and plentiful) followed by a steak bavette which had been barbecued as most of the meat is. The draft beer I had was also excellent and had been well-kept. Congrats to all involved! All together, and excellent experience which we all enjoyed

Location and Surrounding Area

port navas yacht club photos

Port Navas is a small village at the head of Port Navas Creek on the north side of the Helford River, 2 miles from both Constantine and Mawnan Smith near Falmouth.

The apartment is situated on the quay originally used for shipping out granite stone. The area is now a peaceful haven with wooded shores and many local walks, within the North Helford conservation area and many lovely, safe, sandy beaches within ten to fifteen minutes drive. The Budock Vean Hotel with its 9 hole golf course, private swimming pool and restaurant open to non-residents, is five minutes away by car.

Port Navas Yacht Club is your local watering hole. This little gem on the edge of Port Navas creek serves great food and drink but booking a table in the restaurant ahead is almost always necessary –  email [email protected] or leave a message on 01326 340065.  For opening times and more information  http://pnyc.co.uk/bar-restaurant/ .  Dogs and children welcome.

Sailing facilities on the beautiful Helford River are among the finest in England.

With boats and moorings available for hire locally, this is an ideal base from which to explore the area. For boat moorings/berths in Port Navas contact Tom on 01326 340525. The creek itself dries for about two hours either side of low tide.

Falmouth is only six miles away and this interesting old town has retained the charm of an old fishing port and offers good shopping facilities, restaurants and traditional Cornish pubs.

There are several beautiful sub tropical gardens nearby and ample opportunity for picturesque, waterside walks.

Sue, staying at Upper Deck

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Upper Deck, the ability to launch a kayak from the jetty below the apartment and paddle up the Helford River was just amazing. I took this photo one calm evening on the opposite side of the creek, looking towards Quay House. We hope to return to this beautiful, peaceful spot. You can sit all day just watching the changing scene of the tidal creek, it is so relaxing. Thank you Cornish Holidays. Sue, John, Francesca and Kate.

Steve Fletcher will be starting in the Club on Friday Feb 27.  He is a very experienced chef – and has done lots of different types of catering in Cornwall and abroad.  We have been speaking for a few weeks and he really understands the difference between the summer season (when our visitors are here) and how we have all been using the Club since November.  He wants to stick with the current approach until the summer season starts in the Easter holiday period.  So it will be freshly cooked food and similar style until the visitors start to arrive when the operating hours begin to extend and the menu will change a bit.  He will be taking on this email over the next few weeks and will be telling you about his menu ideas.

You have all been so generous with your support over the past few months that we have had to turn people away – so we will be open for 2 nights from this week – ie Friday and Saturday.  We hope that this means that those who have been unable to come on Friday nights will be able to join us on Saturday. We will be upping the openings as we move towards the summer.
