Kekova bay gulet cruise is boarding Saturday afternoon in Fethiye. This route is a must for sea-lovers who love to combine a gulet cruise with interesting visits offshore.  You will sail from Fethiye Marina to famous Kekova bay, spending daytime relaxing in wonderful bays.  But also visit unique places like the ancient city of Olympos or ancient Myra.

Standard plus gulets  are sailing this route. They might have 6 or more double cabins. Triple cabins are not available on this route.  All cabins have their private bathroom. The boat is assigned shortly before the departure day. Therefore, we cannot provide details about the yachts, but only example ones. Cabin charter cruises are not suitable for small children. We don’t apply any family discount on our itineraries.

Start planning your cruise

Your boarding will start on Saturday afternoon at Fethiye Ece Marina . The exact location of the boat will know known only on embarkation day. Fethiye nearest airport is Dalaman located 45 km out of town.  Maybe you can also consider a flight to Greek islands of Rhodes, and from here you take a catamaran to Fethiye.

You can embark your gulet anytime from 3 P.M. till late. Saturday night your gulet will stay in the harbour. You will start sailing Sunday morning after customs formalities. You will disembark your gulet Saturday morning after breakfast. The gulet returns to Fethiye harbour on Friday afternoon.

The first service on board is dinner the first day. You will finish your cruise with breakfast on the last day. Drinks are not included in the price and have to be paid cash on board.

The captain or port authorities can change the itinerary without prior notice.  The causes might be weather conditions and local or state port authority decisions /laws to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests.

What is a cabin charter?

Cabin charter is an excellent choice for those who travel alone, as a couple or in a small group of sea lovers and who don’t want to hire the entire yacht for the holiday. Guests book a cabin onboard a gulet, and it is like booking a room in a hotel. Be sure to make new friends, travel with people from around the world, and spend great time with people who share similar life & travel philosophy.

ABOUT THE YACHT

TERSANE 8 has proved to be one of the nicest gulets in Turkey that has a capacity to host large groups of travelers. She can accommodate 32 guests in 14 cabins of various layout. There are staterooms, each with ensuite facilities, with Double, Twin beds, as well several cabins that host 3 guests. TERSANE 8 gulet is perfect for a cabin charter experience in Turkey, and her crew is truly caring and professional.

TERSANE 8 has a nice selection of water toys onboard, as well as Wi-Fi, music system, board games, wine cooler, ice machine, coffee machine.

ABOUT THE JOURNEY

It is a week-long cabin charter trip on board TERSANE 8 gulet that will start from the harbor of Bodrum and finish the tour in Fethiye - one of the most beautiful ports of Turkey. The guests will be accompanied by a professional yacht crew and a guide with whom they will discover Turkey

Brief program:

Day 1: embarkation in the harbor of Bodrum; after settling down there’s an opportunity to visit famous Bodrum castle with fantastic underwater museum and walk around the old town with lots of authentic shops, cafes and historical spots.

Day 2: Visiting Knidos - a Greek city in ancient Caria famous for its temple of Aphrodite, a place of worship for many believers in BC times.

Day 3: A visit to Datca - one of the most romantic seaside towns of Turkey

Day 4: Fantastic bays of Bozburun to spend the day swimming and enjoying a turquoise mix of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas

Day 5: Hiking in Bozukkale - a home to one of the most fabulous ancient sites on the Aegean coast

Day 6: Excursion to Dalyan River - an authentic river journey with a guide to the ancient ruins of Caunos. Onshore dinner in the restaurant.

Day 7: A day spent cruising around Gocek islands and enjoying beautiful sea and nature.

Day 8: Disembarkation after breakfast in Fethiye.

• Personal travel insurance.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

• 50% of the fee is paid upon the signature of the cabin charter agreement;
• 50% of the fee is paid 8 weeks prior the departure.

CANCELLATION & REFUND

• 25% of the charter fee is refunded to the guest if cancellation is made 8 weeks before the embarkation date;
• 50% is refunded to the guests if the cancellation is made between 4 to 8 weeks before the embarkation date,
• No refund if the cancellation is made during the last 4 weeks before the embarkation date.

Differ from the other charter options, such as private yacht charters or sailing yacht charters, we offer another charter option for Blue Cruise in Turkey on a shared gullet yacht in other words cabin charter . This charter is intended for singles, couples or small groups and named as yacht cabin charter.

For a specific period of time commonly for a few days to a week, a cabin can be hired on a gullet yacht (single or double) with her crew. Yacht cabin charters fare also known shared yacht cabin charters in Turkey. These charters are customized for spending a holiday with accompanying people to have new and memorable experiences with new friends. Voyagers that participating in such Blue Cruises are usually multi-national, which makes these affairs become more interesting and special.

We operate the gullet cabin charters with guaranteed departures mostly on Saturday and Sunday. Friday and Monday’s departures are available in the high season; June, July, and August. Cabin charters are organized by traditional standard gulet yachts in standard classes also superior class yachts(with A/C) are available at Greek Islands programs. These are crewed motor sailing yachts ranging from 19 m to 27 mt. with the capacities of 6 to 8 double cabins.

Gulet yachts have an accommodation capacity from 12 to 20 guests. They are also equipped with navigation and equipment and have the necessary equipment to meet the standard security and safety requirements. Cruises are usually gathering way on the engine to keep up with the itinerary of the Blue Cruise.

The gulet cabin charter period is standard and fixed for a week. However, shorter charter periods, such as for 3 or 4 nights ( Mini Blue Cruise ) could be available on certain routes on binding schedules. Gullet yacht charter is a provisioned charter. The accommodation on gullet yacht is full board, (breakfast, lunch and dinner inclusive, five o’clock tea) Fuel, harbor dues, transit log fees, crew, facilities on board and local taxes are included in cabin charter prices. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased from the yacht bars, are excluded.

Cruising starts between 10:00 - 10:30 from the Fethiye Harbour. Fethiye is a great spot for starting or finishing a gulet cruise and has quite a few islands dotting its coastline adding spice to an already colorful city with a lot of local cuisines to what your taste buds. It is a well-known tourist center in the South West of Turkey and has a lot of bars, restaurants and many different day and night entertainment spots. Fethiye in itself is steeped in history with a number of exciting archeological sites and the area is steeped in layered culture, built over centuries.

Our first stop of the day will be Samanlik bay where you can swim and have lunch. Quite close to Fethiye is Samanlik Bay, this small bay is considered to be a great location for anchoring, even when Fethiye is close by. The slopes leading down to the bay are covered with trees and the waters are cool and inviting.

Then we will cruise to Ölüdeniz (The Blue Lagoon). Ölüdeniz is Turkish for the Dead Sea, which it derives from the calm waters that seem to shine like a pane of glass all year round. It is one of the most visited and popular tourist spots on the Turquoise Coast of southwestern Turkey. The blue lagoon sits within a pebble beach enclosure, and the waters are crystal clear, aquamarine and differing shade so of blue. Behind the town is Mount Babadağ, that sets the pace for the paragliding community. This is considered to be one of the best and most beautiful paraglide locations in the world. For visitors arriving by yacht, this is a great place for snorkeling and scuba diving, since the lagoon has plenty of small underwater caves and a lot of interesting fauna and sea life.

St. Nicholas (Gemiler Island) is considered to be the resting place of St. Nicholas, or what we all know as Santa Claus, who is also the Patron Saint of Sailors. During the early Christian era, this was a very active island with a lot of trade and commerce. It his home to some Byzantine ruins and St. Nicholas’ tomb. The island is now a pilgrimage site, as well as a favored day stop for yachts. Dinner and overnight stay will be in this lovely bay. 

Around sunrise departure to Firnaz Bay near Kalkan for breakfast & swimming. It is possible to see the deep blue sea and the creatures living underwater in Firnaz Bay. There is only one beach in the bay and there is a mud bath which is believed to rejuvenate people on the beach. The bay is also very popular for diving enthusiasts. In addition, it is possible to see ancient ruins all over this bay surrounded by wide slopes

Our boat will be anchored at the Kas Harbour so that you can get off the board and visit this small charming fishing village. Kas was once a small fishing village, today it is a growing tourist town with a nice marina and perfect conditions for scuba diving. In fact, Kas is considered to be one of Turkey’s main diving centers and it delivers in every sense. 

Quite close to the harbor is an ancient amphitheater, and around the harbor are plenty of small restaurants and tavern providing fresh seafood meals. 

East of Kas is the island of Kekova. In a bay near Kekova, we stop for swimming, dinner & the 2nd night. Kekova is a protected region and is uninhabited. You will most probably anchor off the island, and you can visit the area to enjoy the amazing views, clear turquoise seas and ancient ruins.

We will cruise to the Sunken City of Kekova in Simena. (this Lycian Roman archaeological site is here protected, so only looking!). Simena, a traditional Turkish fishing village with no access by car. There is a Byzantine/Ottoman castle. Simena houses a large necropolis, and together with its location provide a natural beauty of harsh and soft. The turquoise waters that’s lap on the sandy beaches, provide a perfect relaxing swimming experience to all visitors.

This amazingly beautiful location sits opposite three islands, Asirli island, Kiseli island and Kasirli island. Entering the harbor of Gokkaya usually happens when coming from Kekova, and is made by sailing between the islands of Asirli and Kiseli. The deep channel provides ample protection from the rocks of Martini Kayagligi. What is amazing about this bay is the cold spring waters that filter down from the mountains and flow int the bay. This cause the waters to have two temperature levels, a cooler upper layer and a warmer lower level. Apart from the sea and the islands, you also get access to the ancient Acropolis found in the ancient city of Istlada, which sits beside the town of Kapakli. There are sarcophagi and stele shaped tombs, some with inscriptions from the 4th century, the most famous tomb is that of Hoyran. 

In Gokkaya Bay optional water sports are available. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Gokkaya Bay.

After breakfast, we have a look at the Pirates Cave before cruising to Demre (Andriake) harbor.

Blue Cave is also known as Pirates Cave, due to its geographical location it was once an ideal place for Pirates to lay in wait for trade ships that journeyed along the Mediterranean sea. Today the Cave can be reached only by boat. Blue cave has gained its name from the dazzling blue hue of the water. You can swim through the low entrance in the cliff face and marvel at the sapphire stone walls as the sunlight bounces of the sea filling the cave with blue light. At the mouth of Blue Cave is a low ledge from which you can launch yourself into the crystal clear water. Even non-swimmers can enjoy the beautiful Blue Cave as you can paddle inside by canoe from gulet yacht or drift in with a small dinghy. 

What makes Demre popular are its Church of St. Nicholas and the Myra Rock Tombs, nestled in the mountain, carved out of the mountainside. The Taurus mountains behind Demre give it a contrasting green and brown against the clear blue sky and the twinkling azure sea. There are many archeological finds dotted around this peninsula, so if you are interested in the ancient legends of Turkey and Greece, this is one area you will want to study closely.

Disembarkation between 11:00 - 12:00 in Demre (Andriake) harbor. The bus transfer is available from here to the main road in Olympos.

What does cabin charter mean?

A crewed cabin charter is the hire of a cabin space on a yacht (accommodation mainly in dbl bed cabins), with captain and crew, for a specific period of time (usually one week, but also only 3-4 day cruises).

Our cabin sales are designed for individuals or smaller groups not wishing to charter a full yacht and wish to make the holiday a totally new experience alongside new friends. Such cruises are often multi-national affairs, which make them especially interesting. Our Cabin Charters have guaranteed departures and generally run from late April through October. Departure days are given on each page separately.

Each cabin charter program has a set route, no place is visited twice during any cruise. Full board meals are included in the price. The drinks can be purchased from the bar on the boat.

Swimwear and T-shirts is all you will need on board in the daytime. In the evenings people dress casually, but bring sweaters and trousers if you are coming in the cooler months. It's a good idea to bring a pair of soft shoes or sandals just to use on the boat. On board we provide hand and bath towels, so please bring your own beach towels. All this should be packed into a soft bag which can be folded and stowed away to give more room in your cabin, not a suitcase. The Mediterranean sun is very bright and on a boat hotter than you think, be sure to pack sunglasses, a good suntan lotion and a hat. If mosquitoes find you tasty then bring mosquito repellent and a camera is an absolute must.
