Ferretti Yachts presents Infynito 80

Making her debut at Boot Düsseldorf, Infynito 80 joins the brand’s hugely successful Infynito 90 and builds on the range’s typical characteristics: environmental friendliness, unprecedented flexibility and innovative layouts, as magnificently embodied in the iconic All-Season Terrace.

Other strengths include the yacht’s versatility, with a sundeck that can be open or semi-closed, and the sheer size, above average for the segment, of the exterior surface area covered and protected by the hard top or superstructure. (All our posts on Ferretti , here )

Infynito 80, Exterior design by Filippo Salvetti

Built at the Marina di Ravenna shipyard, Ferretti Yachts’ Infynito 80 is the result of collaboration between the Strategic Product Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, with exterior design by Filippo Salvetti and interiors by design firm Ideaeitalia. 

With an overall length of 23.70 metres (77ft 9in) and a maximum beam of 6.36 metres (20ft 10in), Infynito 80 is designed to offer lovers of the sea a new and gratifying experience in highly customisable spaces where interiors and exteriors blend into one another. 

“After Infynito 90, we developed the range’s second model with the aim of retaining some of this design’s unique and inimitable characteristics, while also adding new features tailored for a project of a different size,” explained designer Filippo Salvetti. “We’re proud to present INFYNITO 80, a solution with above-average covered exterior space, enabling owners to enjoy the yacht in all seasons and weather conditions but without sacrificing direct contact with the sea, the surrounding environment or the sun.”

A yacht with sustainable solutions

Infynito 80 also features the Group’s F.S.E.A. technology (Ferretti Sustainable Enhanced Architecture), a package of environmentally friendly cruising solutions. They include an integrated system that stores the solar energy collected by the photovoltaic panels installed on the hard top in an Energy Bank, which consists of 14 high-density lithium batteries that deliver more energy at the same time as guaranteeing a favourable weight-power ratio.

The battery pack is in the engine room, in watertight steel containers fitted with temperature monitoring sensors. There was also a special focus on the use of green materials, such as natural and bamboo fabrics, regenerated leather and recyclable materials, ecological water-based paints and lamellar teak with FSC 5 certification, used throughout the exteriors.  

Infynito 80: fascinating interiors

An overview of the various decks highlights the main deck astern, with a generous 18 square metres dedicated to a beach area that features a sea-view couch incorporating a generous storage unit. There is also a stern platform with a linear lift for launching and hauling up the tender. The 19 m² cockpit has a living area with free-standing furniture for greater flexibility in terms of layout and use. In the 29 m² interior saloon, the dining room (available in the standard version) can be replaced by a show kitchen with a bar counter and stools.

The yacht’s main galley is at the forward end of the main deck, with an electrically operated sliding glass door providing direct access to the All-Season Terrace. The hallmark of the range is its iconic covered terrace, sheltered by an extension to the superstructure for protection in all weather conditions and total privacy. On Infynito 80, the 13 m² terrace can be configured as a dinette, with seating and an extending table, or as a bar counter. The raised helm station provides excellent visibility and is accessed by a staircase in the centre of the main deck. 

An unconventional upper deck

The upper deck, which is closed on Infynito 90, is replaced on Infynito 80 by a totally open sundeck in the standard version, and a semi-closed one with glass panels as an option. The hard top provides shade for the entire dining area and foredeck. The stern section of the upper deck is a sunbathing area with free-standing furniture and an outdoor galley.

The 43 m 2 lower deck has a master suite – in the midship section of the boat and fitted with plenty of storage space – a VIP cabin and two guest cabins.  The crew quarters contain two cabins sleeping a total of three people.

“Not to mention the iconic Ferretti Yachts moods: Classic, which taps into earthy elements, and Contemporary, featuring glowing woods and fabrics in fresh hues inspired by the colours of the sea. Both moods create a sophisticated aesthetic in functional and efficient spaces designed for owners who increasingly see their yacht as a new place to live in, as if it were an extension of their home”.

Infynito 80 can be fitted with a pair of MAN V12 engines rated up to 1400 mHP (in the optional version), driving the yacht to a top speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots ( preliminary data ).And with the new high-efficiency hull, the yacht has a range of 1000 nm at an economy cruising speed of 12 kt.

Ferretti Yachts Reveals Infynito 80

The upcoming Infynito 80 will complement the Infynito 90 that debuted last year before hull one headed to Asia.

Ferretti Yachts is scheduled to stage the world premiere of the Infynito 80 at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 10-15. Built at the Ferretti Group’s new Marina di Ravenna shipyard on Italy’s east coast, the model is the second in a new range that began with the Infynito 90 that debuted at Cannes last year before hull one made its way to its owner in China.

Featuring an overall length of 23.7m (77ft 9in) and a beam of 6.36m (20ft 10in), the Infynito 80 features exteriors by Filippo Salvetti and interiors by IdeaeItalia, and was designed in collaboration with Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari and the company’s Engineering Department.

Like the Infynito 90, the Infynito 80’s signature feature is the ‘all-season terrace’, a covered foredeck that can be set up in a variety of ways, while notable differences include a flybridge that can be open or semi-closed.

Salvetti said: “After Infynito 90, we developed the range’s second model with the aim of retaining some of this design’s unique and inimitable characteristics, while also adding new features tailored for a project of a different size.

“We’re proud to present Infynito 80, a solution with above-average covered exterior space, enabling owners to enjoy the yacht in all seasons and weather conditions but without sacrificing direct contact with the sea, the surrounding environment or the sun.”

Like her big sister, the Infynito 80 features Ferretti Sustainable Enhanced Architecture (FSEA), a package of environmentally friendly cruising solutions. They include an integrated system that stores the solar energy collected by the photovoltaic panels installed on the hard top in an energy bank consisting of 14 high-density lithium batteries.

The battery pack is in the engine room, in watertight steel containers fitted with temperature-monitoring sensors. There’s also a special focus on the use of green materials, such as natural and bamboo fabrics, regenerated leather and recyclable materials, ecological water-based paints and lamellar teak with FSC 5 certification, used throughout the exteriors.

The beach area has an aft platform with a linear lift for launching and hauling up the tender, and is overlooked by a sea-view couch incorporating a generous storage unit. The 19sqm cockpit has free-standing furniture for greater flexibility in terms of layout and use.

In the 29sqm saloon, the dining room can be replaced by a show kitchen with a bar counter and stools. The main galley is at the forward end of the main deck, with an electrically operated sliding glass door providing direct access to the all-season terrace.

The covered forward terrace is sheltered by an extension to the superstructure for protection and total privacy. The 13sqm terrace can be configured as a dinette, with seating and an extending table, or as a bar counter. The semi-raised pilothouse is accessed by a staircase in the centre of the main deck.

The standard flybridge is totally open, although owners can choose a semi-closed one with glass panels, while the fixed hard top provides shade for the upper dining area. The aft flybridge features an outdoor galley and a clear area for free-standing furniture such as sun loungers.

The 43sqm lower deck has a full-beam master suite midships, a VIP cabin and two guest cabins, while the crew quarters contain three berths in two cabins.

The Ferretti design philosophy, “Just Like Home” is evident in this 1999 Ferretti 80 Motor Yacht that combines the luxury and comfort of home with a performance planing hull for cruising pleasure. Noted superyacht design firm, Zuccon International Project worked with the original owner and the Ferretti team to design RABBIT’s original interior which accommodates 8 in 4 en-suite staterooms in the forward lower level plus captain and 2 crew in aft crew quarters with private head and shower. Already respected as one of the best builders in international yachting, this Italian firm enters the superyacht market with its Ferretti 80. On this yacht, an owner can combine all the luxuries of home and all the pleasures and freedom of vacation in a yacht of outstanding performance. The size of the Ferretti 80 has been carefully selected to remain under the 24-meter limit where the tax authorities of many nations rule that a leisure craft becomes a pleasure craft and is thus subject to a different tax regime. With its length of 23.98 meters, the 80 is in the leisure craft category. The Ferretti 80 knows no limits when it comes to setting standards for pleasure yachts. Developed from the Ferretti 225, the excellent performance has not only been retained but enhanced. The normally accepted gap between top speed and cruising speed has been reduced, and this means that the Ferretti 80 can guarantee a performance which will match its exclusive role as a compact superyacht. The development from the 225 and the additional length have brought other improvements. The engine room is in a better position and the fuel tanks perform the dual role of holding fuel and acting as a sound barrier from the master cabin. The crew cabins and the auxiliary room have been given a more practical layout. Another improvement allowed by the increase in size is to keep the mooring area aft separate from the cockpit so that the guests can watch undisturbed. This type of detail, of constantly striving to improve the quality and design of the Ferretti motoryacht, is what keeps Ferretti ahead. In five years, 38 prestigious Ferretti 80s have been delivered.

Starting aft deck, which is usually the focal point of most social activities early in the morning and often in the evening. There is seating for eight around a large oval table. Access to the flybridge via a molded staircase.

Upon entering the salon from the aft deck, there is a large and comfortable U-Shaped leather couch of the port side with plenty of cabinetry on the starboard with a black club chair. On the cabinet to starboard is smart flat screen TV, RABBIT's large port and starboard windows bring in a bright natural light.

Moving forward from the salon and up two steps is the dining salon. A glass table and chairs seating eight for formal dining. Across from the dining salon is the galley. Forward of the galley is a dinette that is used casual dining, coffee in the morning or to relax and plan the days adventures. Across from the dinette is the lower helm station.

Accommodations:

The master suite is positioned about midship below decks, high gloss Teak wood highlights the master suite. A king sized bed is located in the center with a makeup table on one side and a small couch on the other. As well as an en-suite head and shower.

Forward of the master is a guest stateroom with twin beds, Closet and drawer space and en-suite head. Moving forward towards the bow is another guest stateroom on the starboard side with twin beds, closet and drawer space, en-suite head.

All the way forward is the VIP stateroom with a queen sized berth surrounded by drawers, and an en-suite head and shower.

The flybridge can be the main gathering point for most family adventures. There is an upper station for navigation, a large dinette for lunches or happy hour and plenty of lounging area.

“It was created as the conduit for a thrilling experience—watching whales around the boat, dolphins surfing bow waves or passing glaciers in icy waters,” says Enrique Tintore, design manager for the Dutch line of expedition yachts , ranging from 197 to 345 feet. “The idea is to maximize the connection with nature, to look down over the front of the bow and feel an unusual connection. That’s something you can’t do on any other yacht.”

The open bows of Ferretti Yachts’ Infynito 90 , and recently announced Infynito 80, are less concerned with off-grid travel, but more about social possibilities. More cruiser than explorer, the 90 has an “All Season Terrace” that connects directly with yacht’s outer passageways all the way back to the aft cockpit. The 90’s bow area is designed to be private, but still open, configured with lounges, a forward sunpad and Jacuzzi. Owners can even opt for a cocktail bar with stools. Like the Damen Xplorer, it has open sides and an open front, but the overhead offers protection with slats that can open if the owner and guests want direct sunlight. “We created it as an oasis to put the people living on board front and center,” says Ferretti’s Filippo Salvetti.

Both designers claim there are no structural downsides to these unusual bows, though Tintore admits that “green water” could wash over the front during rough-water crossings. “But guests can just step back into the enclosed observation lounge to enjoy the action with a cocktail.”
