Luxury sailing yacht DRUMBEAT (ex Salperton) was designed by the renowned Dubois Naval Architects and built by Alloy Yachts. At 174' ‘Drumbeat’ is one of the largest pleasure craft ever built in New Zealand and one of the most magnificent luxury sailing yachts launched anywhere in 2002. Drumbeat is a high-performance luxury ketch, which although able to provide exhilarating sailing speeds of over 15 knots, and much higher, she also offers excellent sailing comfort, seaworthiness, and space. Drumbeat is on a world adventure and is available for charter in various exotic locations around the globe.
NOTABLE FEATURES: ~ Full-beam master suite ~ Jacuzzi ~ Great entertainment system ~ Water skis ~ Diving gear ~ Sea-doos ~ Outstanding performance ~ Proven charter record
Sailing Yacht DRUMBEAT completed a major interior refit in 2005/2014, with extensive exterior work done in 2019. The yachts interior has been redesigned to reflect the simplicity and beauty of the lines of this head-turning sailing yacht. The colors, materials and furniture are designed for relaxed comfort. She offers the highest standard of lighting which gives the option of setting the appropriate mood throughout the yacht. The overall feeling on Drumbeat is one of casual elegance.
The design places a premium on good crew accommodations. Consequently, the general arrangement had to accommodate six crew cabins all with ensuite facilities and able to sleep two people even though the yacht would carry a complement of nine. The crew mess also had to be spacious and inviting.
The owner’s suite is very spacious, occupying the full beam of the yacht towards the stern and there would be four double guest cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms. These requirements pointed to a very large yacht, requiring high levels of experience and skill in the design and construction.
DRUMBEAT Specifications

Drumbeat - Yacht for Charter
From €175,000 EUR
- Builder Alloy Yachts
- Length 53m (174ft)
- Year 2002 / 2023
DRUMBEAT is one of the fastest sailing ketches on the water and is ideally suited for regatta charters or luxurious vacations in the Indian Ocean or South-East Asia.
She’s previously completed two circumnavigations of the globe and would make an ideal vessel for someone who wants to explore new cruising grounds or enjoy an extended yacht charter.
Interior Design & Engineering
Built by Alloy Yachts with naval architecture by Dubois, the DRUMBEAT sailing yacht balances safe cruising with high performance and previously won the 2005 Rolex Transatlantic Challenge. She boasts a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 10.
Refitted in 2019, this luxury superyacht is one of the most modern sailing yachts on the charter market. Her interior, by George Spencer Design, is a classic blend of cream furnishings and contrasting wooded cabinetry.
11 guests can be accommodated across a master suite, two doubles and two twin cabins during your DRUMBEAT yacht charter.
Yacht Facilities & Entertainment
The main salon of the DRUMBEAT yacht has multiple relaxed seating areas, with a formal dining table tucked into one corner and a cockpit aft.
There’s lots of deck space to enjoy, too. The flybridge is home to a large sunbathing area, plus an alfresco dining space with panoramic views and a v-shaped sofa.
The DRUMBEAT yacht also has a large swim platform, which makes it easier to enter the water or prepare the water toys.
Toys and Crew
Your DRUMBEAT yacht charter will be overseen by a crew of 10.
They’ll help you have as much fun in the water as you will on the luxury superyacht itself, thanks to an extensive range of water toys. There are two Topaz Race X sailing dinghies equipped with new sails that you can take out, as well as kayaks and a windsurfer.
You can also have a go on the wakeboard, waterskis and SeaDoo scooters, or try your luck at catching something with the fishing gear. Plenty of snorkelling equipment and scuba diving gear is also available, should you want to explore under the water as well.
When it’s time to head ashore, the 6.2-metre Castoldi RIB will transport you quickly.

Luxury sail yacht Drumbeat was built in 2002 by New Zealand shipyard Alloy Yachts. With an aluminium hull and superstructure, she features exterior design by Dubois Naval Architects and the interior work of Alloy Yachts and the owner. This ketch measures 53 metres and can accommodate up to 10 guests.
Sail yacht Drumbeat was previously known by the name Salperton and was originally built for a European owner. She is fitted with carbon fibre spars and a Leisure furl in-boom furling system. She was the winner of the ShowBoats International Best Sailing Yacht Interior award in 2003 and was a finalist in the Superyacht Society Design Awards in 2002.
She underwent an extensive refit in 2007/08 that saw a redesign of her interior, gearing it more towards comfort and simple style. She also received a make-over of her engines and sails, and in 2008 received a newly painted hull. The layout of the luxury sail boat places the cockpit, pilot house, formal dining room and saloon all on one level, which is quite unusual for a sailing yacht but maximises the feeling of open space and natural light within the interior.
Amongst her four cabins are an indulgent owner’s suite and three double guest suites. The gym also hosts a bunk and two Pullman berths so can act as an extra cabin when needed. The crew’s quarters include six cabins, each with an en suite, that sleep up to 11 crew.
Luxury yacht Drumbeat is powered by a Caterpillar 3412E 1400 horsepower engine that allow her to reach maximum speeds over 16 knots.
Featuring a dedicated crew, Drumbeat is an excellent charter yacht for luxury vacations. The yacht cruises comfortably at 14 knots while her crew of nine to 10 ensure the needs of every guest are met.
The luxury sail yacht is equipped with an armada of water toys to provide endless entertainment during any yacht charter. Onboard water toys include tenders, wakeboard, waterskis, inflatables, windsurfer, kayaks, Seadoo scooters, sailing dinghies, and a range of snorkelling and diving equipment.
Drumbeat usually charters in the Caribbean but in 2009 will cruise the South Pacific during the summer and winter charter seasons. She sails to Tahiti in the summer and heads to Fiji towards winter.

Explosions occurred in Moscow region, several settlements lost power
E xplosions were heard in the town of Lytkarino, Moscow region, tonight, November 23. Several settlements in the Moscow region are without power, according to Baza.
Around 1 a.m., local residents allegedly heard a bright flash from the substation. Afterward, the lights went out in the Lytkarivsky district. A fire reportedly broke out at the site of the explosion.
According to Russian media, power was lost in several settlements in the Moscow region.
It should be noted that Lytkarino is situated 30 kilometers from the Russian capital.
Shots fired in Russia
In 2023, the number of attacks in a number of regions of the Russian Federation by attack drones increased. Also, something often burns and explodes on the territory of Russia. Different regions, including Moscow, are under attack.
At the same time, Ukrainian intelligence has already warned residents of the Russian capital that they should hardly relax, as the number of drone attacks will only increase.
In particular, on the evening of November 10, explosions occurred near the Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering corporation in the Moscow region, where Kinzhals and Iskandars are manufactured.
One of the largest attacks took place on the night of July 30, when unidentified drones struck the business center of the Russian capital, Moscow City. The drones hit the so-called "government tower," which houses the offices of the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Ministry of Communications.
Brigadier General Sergei Baranov recently said that Ukrainian troops are preparing for a large-scale winter attack on various regions of Russia with the help of kamikaze drones.

Russia’s Mayak facility masters processing of transportable fast reactor fuel
!{Model.Description}
The installation was created in 1970, after which it was transferred to the Research Institute of Instruments in Lytkarino (Moscow region). The operation of the installation ended in 2015, and the task of removing and reprocessing the used nuclear fuel then began.
“For processing, the fuel composition in the form of metal hemispheres was delivered to the RT-1 plant in a special transport canister made of corrosion steel, and then the canister was loaded into a solvent apparatus,” said Andrey Germashev, head of the production and technical department of the radiochemical plant. “After the dissolution operation, the plant’s specialists isolated and purified valuable components from impurities. A serious problem that could complicate reprocessing is the formation of precipitates in the form of molybdic acid and zirconium molybdate at the key stages of reprocessing, including dissolution, extraction refining and evaporation of solutions.” In the event, solutions were developed that make it possible to process this type of fuel without deviations from the normal regime and in compliance with all safety and quality requirements.
Mayak is the only Russian enterprise that undertakes radiochemical reprocessing of used fuel on an industrial scale. The plant reprocesses fuel from various power and research reactors and the range of reprocessed fuel is constantly expanding. The plant has accumulated extensive experience in processing various fuel compositions based on oxides, carbides and metals.
