The 115.16ft  /35.1m  Custom expedition  ‘Surfbird’  was built in 2006 by B & B Boat Works and last refitted in 2011. She’s a great choice for your next charter vacation.

Surfbird’s interior layout sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 rooms, including a master suite, 3 double cabins and 2 pullman beds. She is also capable of carrying up to 4 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Timeless styling, beautiful furnishings and sumptuous seating feature throughout to create an elegant and comfortable atmosphere.

You’ll enjoy many leisure and entertainment facilities onboard, making her ideal for entertaining friends and family on your charter vacation. There’s plenty of space for enjoying an alfresco lunch or dinner on deck, or simply lounging in the sunshine and working on your tan.

She is built with Steel hull and Steel superstructure. Surfbird has a maximum speed of 9.5 knots flat out, with a cruising speed of 8 knots from her 13,300- fuel tanks.

Fishing equipment is sure to provide recreation to guests and offer a different perspective on a relaxing charter vacation.

B & B explorer yacht Surfbird sold

The 36.05 metre explorer yacht Surfbird , listed for sale by Tom Allen at Fraser Yachts , has been sold to a direct client.

Built in steel by B & B Boatworks to a design by Norton & Associates , she was delivered in 2006 with her most recent refit in 2011. Accommodation is for up to 10 guests in four cabins consisting of a master suite and three doubles plus two Pullman berths, all with entertainment centres, television screens and en suite bathroom facilities. In addition, there are quarters for four crew.

Entrance to the main saloon is via sliding doors from the aft deck and there is a U-shaped settee to port with an entertainment centre including a large flat screen television set to starboard. Forward to starboard is a dining area with a custom crafted table seating eight guests while the saloon is separated from the galley by a cabinet housing two fridge drawers, an ice maker and storage cabinets for tableware.

Al fresco cocktails and dining are available on the aft deck at a custom table and built in upholstered settees. Steps lead up to the sky lounge designed for pure relaxation, offering a comfortable cocktail seating area in front of an entertainment centre with a bar close to hand, while aft on the upper deck is a Jacuzzi tub.

Twin 475hp Detroit Diesel engines give her a sedate but comfortable cruising speed of eight knots.

Lying in Seattle, Washington, Surfbird was asking $2,900,000.

Surfbird Identification

Forages along rocky intertidal zones for bivalves, mollusks, barnacles, and marine algae during the nonbreeding season.

The Four Keys to ID

A stout shorebird with a short, thick bill, short neck, short tail, and short, thick legs.

Relative Size

Larger than a Black Turnstone, smaller than a Black-bellied Plover.

Measurements Both Sexes

Breeding adults are stippled light, dark, and rufous above. The head and underparts are white, neatly marked with black streaks and arrowhead-shaped markings on the breast and belly. Nonbreeding plumage is muddy brownish gray with whitish chin, white belly with some streaking. The tail is white at the base, with a bold black tip. Legs are greenish yellow; base of bill is yellow. Juveniles are paler than nonbreeding adults, with feathers above showing narrow pale edges.

Forages by walking along on rocks, seizing prey (often mollusks) with the bill, yanking them free, and swallowing them whole. Also forages by touch in algae, wrack, sand, and mudflats.

Nests in high slopes of rocky alpine tundra in interior Alaska. Winters along Pacific coast in rocky environments, sometimes foraging also on mudflats or beaches.
