Cruise Description

Sit back and relax for a 60min catamaran yacht cruise from the V&A Waterfront sailing into Table Bay aboard “A Beautiful Life”, our stunning 53ft Catamaran. Beautiful views of Table Mountain and the Mother City as you sail along the shoreline towards Seapoint.

This trip is ideal for large groups such as schools, businesses and tour groups as our vessel can seat up to 60 passengers. Watch as the harbour operates with other vessels entering and leaving the harbour. Get up close to large shipping vessels and local marine life.

The bar onboard will be selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for the duration of the cruise. We offer a selection of local beers/drinks and soft drinks at reasonable charges. Click here to view our drinks menu

Departure Times:

Please note the following.

• To avoid disappointment, please ensure that you check-in at the office 20min before departure time.
• The captain of the boat is not allowed to delay departure for anyone.
• If you miss the departure time your ticket will, unfortunately, be void.
• We do not offer any refunds
• Bookings cannot be cancelled.
• All children need to be accompanied by an adult
• Our boats have different wind and swell restrictions. The weather on the day may require that the skipper alter the course for safety and comfort.

Discover IQ Catamaran, conveniently docked at North Quay, Alfred Basin in V&A Waterfront.

Collect your tickets at the IQ booth and be welcomed onboard by our friendly crew.

Once everyone is ready, we sail out of the harbour for stunning views of the vibrant Waterfront and Admire the magnificent vessels, including luxury yachts, catamarans, sailing vessels, working boats, and even the Robben Island ferries.

Once we venture out of the harbour, prepare to be further captivated by awe-inspiring views of Table Mountain and the majestic Twelve Apostles Mountain range.

During the cruise, there's no better way to enhance the experience than by indulging in complimentary sparkling wine. For those craving more options, we also have an onboard bar offering a wide selection of beverages for purchase.

We suggest bringing along sunglasses, hats, a jersey or windbreaker as well as non-deck marking shoes (e.g. trainers/deck shoes), no black soles or high heels.

• Please arrive on time as the boat will not wait for latecomers and refunds will not be provided.
• A cash or card bar is available on board.
• Dry snacks are available to purcahse onboard.
• No professional photography will be allowed, in order to respect the other guests onboard. A private charter is suggested for this.
• Kindly consider tipping the crew.
• Adults are full rates (13+ year olds)
• Children are half price (5 - 12 years old)
• Infants free (1 - 4 years old)
• All cruises are subject to our General Terms and Conditions and require a signed Charter Agreement and indemnity forms.

Neighbourhood News Update: Historic Moment as Two Cunard Queens Simultaneously Grace Port of Cape Town

HISTORIC MOMENT AS TWO CUNARD QUEENS SIMULTANEOUSLY GRACE PORT OF CAPE TOWN

For the very first time, two of Cunard Cruises’ Queens, the Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Victoria, will grace the same African port simultaneously.

• Queen Mary 2 arrives in Cape Town on the 11th of April as the final destination port of her 30-day one-way trip from Hong Kong to Cape Town.
• Queen Victoria arrives in Cape Town on the 12th of April as part of her 55-day one-way trip from Sydney to Southampton, England.

For the first time in African maritime history, two of the iconic Cunard Queens, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria will make a simultaneous appearance at the Port of Cape Town. This unprecedented event is a monumental milestone not only for the Port but also for Cruise Cape Town, the public-private partnership dedicated to nurturing the cruise economy and sustainability of the industry in Cape Town and the Western Cape.

Cruise Cape Town, powered by Wesgro, and in collaboration with esteemed partners including the Western Cape Government, the City of Cape Town, Transnet Ports Authority, the V&A Waterfront, and the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA), has been steadfast in its efforts to bolster competitiveness, drive economic growth, and generate employment opportunities within the cruise sector for Cape Town and the Western Cape.

Queen Mary 2, concluding her 30-day voyage from Hong Kong, will undertake a turnaround call in Cape Town, facilitating the disembarkation and embarkation of passengers for her next voyage bound for New York, USA. Meanwhile, Queen Victoria, on a 55-day journey from Sydney to Southampton, will also make a brief stopover in Cape Town for a turnaround call before continuing her voyage to Walvis Bay, Namibia.

The economic significance of this unprecedented event cannot be overstated. The cruise industry has emerged as a significant contributor to the Western Cape economy, with the 2022/23 season alone generating R1.2 billion. This includes substantial contributions from international visitors, local spending, and cruise lines’ operational costs, highlighting the sector’s pivotal role in fostering economic growth and employment.

Each cruise ship visit translates into tangible economic benefits, with one full-time provincial job created for every 30 arriving cruise passengers. The current 2023/24 season is seeing 65 confirmed ship visits, attracting an estimated 90,000 two-way passengers and 38,000 crew members, underscoring the industry’s resilience and potential for further growth.

The profound impact of cruise tourism is evident, with the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) reporting that 63% of cruise passengers are likely to revisit destinations they have encountered through cruise tourism. The Port of Cape Town has experienced a remarkable surge in cruise visits, reflecting its burgeoning reputation as a premier cruise destination. From an average of 35-40 cruise visits per season between 2016-2019, the Port has seen a substantial increase, with 70 and 65 confirmed ship visits for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 cruise seasons respectively.

SANDUSKY, Ohio -- When you think of U.S. coastal towns, you might first think of East Coast and West Coast cities along the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, respectively. But don’t forget about the North Coast.

In fact, one city in Ohio located along the North Coast was named among the Top 10 best coastal small towns in the U.S., according to USA Today’s 10Best rankings.

Sandusky, Ohio, is the seventh-best coastal small town in the U.S., according to USA Today.

“This Ohio town on the coast of Lake Erie is home to Cedar Point — one of the top roller coaster-laden amusement parks in the country — but there’s more to Sandusky than thrill rides,” USA Today writes. “Visitors can enjoy learning more about the town’s maritime heritage at the Maritime Museum of Sandusky, visit scenic Shoreline Park, go on an island-hopping cruise, and dine at a number of top-notch waterfront restaurants.”

The city of Sandusky, with a population of about 25,000 people, is located about halfway between Cleveland and Toledo, with both cities being about an hour drive away. The northern Ohio town was one of three Midwest cities named to USA Today’s list, along with Saugatuck, Michigan, which ranked second, and Washington Island, Wisconsin, which ranked ninth.
