Until we meet again...

Like everything, Hey Captain started as just an idea and morphed into many things including boat tours, boaters’ education, and marine concierge services.  All of these gave us opportunities to make memories with many wonderful people, some we have known for a long, long time and some we met for the very first time.  We were able to provide valuable services not only in teaching new boating skills and providing marine services but also in providing access to the water and sights of this incredibly beautiful, picturesque, and magical area we call Fernandina Beach...home. 

That said, Hey Captain has paused operations.    This 2024 will see Captain Sean taking the opportunity to focus on his 1st love and passion: writing and performing music.  Stay tuned on the @SeanMcCarthy and @SeanMcCarthyBand Facebook pages for a lot of exciting news, performance dates and new music releases in 2024.

I grew up in South GA/North FL & have been on the surrounding water my entire life.  From boating & fishing on the St. Marys River to enjoying the marshes and beaches of the area.  As a result of my love of being on the water, I pursued my USCG Captain's license in 2011.  I also attained a BAEd from the University of North Florida in 1996.  The challenge of analyzing all of the variables on any given day and putting together a successful charter trip whether it be sightseeing or fishing is something that I truly love.  Since 2015, I have also served in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary as a Coxswain conducting marine safety patrols.

In 2002, I became an above knee amputee as a result of a bone infection in my left knee.  Despite being confronted with physical  challenges, I have continued to participate in water sports, & outdoor activities.  As an amputee, I have enjoyed waterskiing and fishing.  Since the amputation, I have also competed for 3 years in the FOM National Bass Tournament Trail, & as a sponsored athlete in adaptive rowing events with Brooks in Jacksonville, FL.  I founded No Limits Charters, LLC in hope of introducing people to the outdoors in my area & all it has to offer.  "No Limits" was chosen as the name of the charter service as a testament to how I approach life.

Let me introduce you to the waters of Cumberland Sound covering both South GA and North FL with all of the offerings of the area!

I am also a member of the National Association of  Charterboat Operators.

Services offered:

No Limits Charters, LLC provides guided sightseeing tours of the inland marshes and estuaries of Cumberland Sound, GA/FL.  This area has an abundance of wildlife and marine life that inhabits the waters and marshes of Cumberland Island.  Possible observable wildlife includes alligators, dolphins, a diverse population of migratory birds, and the wild horses that call Cumberland Island their home.  We offer dolphin tours, birdwatching tours, ecotours, and general sightseeing charters in St. Marys, GA as well as Amelia Island.

All tours are guided by me, Capt. Diane Pollock.  I am licensed by the USCG and fully insured.  I have operated charters in the area since 2011.

Guided fishing charters are also offered.  These will include fishing for redfish, trout, whiting, shark, and other inland species.  When the weather permits, there will also be opportunities to fish the jetties and beaches of Cumberland Island.  The fall usually brings excellent fishing for spotted sea trout and redfish.  Spring is also a great time for catching black drum, redfish, & sheepshead.  The summer months can bring good flounder fishing and spotted sea trout along area beaches.  Sharks offer a great fight in the summer months.

Coming soon, there will also be artwork for purchase in the shop section from myself that is inspired from actual photos that were taken in the beautiful area of the Cumberland Sound. All artwork will be done by colored pencils or either just simple grey scale pencil sketches.

What is the Booking/Cancellation Policy?

When you book your boat tour we reserve your spot and remove it from the calendar and do not let others book it. A $45 deposit is taken and your reservation request is reviewed to make sure everything is in order for you to have the best experience possible. Upon confirmation you will be charged the balance of the tour and will receive a confirmation email with tour details.

Cancellations can be made up to 48 hours of your tour for a refund minus the deposit. We are not equipped to accept same day cancellations or no shows. Cancellations within 48 hours and no shows are responsible for full tour amount. If the tour is cancelled due to weather you will receive a full refund.

All tour cancellations need to be made by phone at 904-500-8687. We can not accept cancellations through email or text to ensure we do not miss any guest updates.

What happens when we cancel a tour due to weather?

Where do we meet for amelia & cumberland island boat tour.

3 South Front Street, Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034. This is the Downtown Fernandina Beach City Marina. There is plenty of free parking in one of the three parking areas along the waterfront. Your captain will meet you at the boat which is on the first dock directly to the left of Brett’s Waterway Cafe. This is Dock F. You can also find our sign and the boat is directly above it.

Can you can take more than 6 passengers? What if I have a child?

United States Coast Guard regulations allow for up to six guests on our boat tours. We can not take more than six guests. If you have a child they do count as a person. 

What do we wear/bring for our boat tour?

Wear comfortable clothes for the day’s weather and for being on the water. Feel free to bring any snacks, food and drink you want for your family and friends. Alcohol is allowed but no red wine please 🙂 

Do we get out on Cumberland Island?

We do not disembark the boat at Cumberland Island. Cumberland Island is managed as a national park. Charter captains are not allowed to drop guests off onto the Cumberland Island National Seashore.

With this being said, we are able to cover more ground with more opportunities to see the wild horses and other wildlife as we explore the island by boat.    

Are lifejackets required/provided?

Guests 13 and over are not required to wear a life jacket. Children 12 years old and younger are required by law to wear a life jacket. Life jackets are provided as needed. 

Do we need to be early?

We are simply meeting at the boat and stepping aboard. If you want to be a little early that is fine but we may still be preparing for your arrival up until the meet time.

Jeremiah was an awesome captain and was very knowledgeable of the surroundings amenities. He went above and beyond to ensure that me and my son and sister had a great time. His boat was super exciting to ride on He brought an awesome tent that provided shade and trimmed out the boat with an outdoor grill. Let the good times roll. We look forward to joining Captain Jeremiah on many more boating excursions

We loved this experience! Boat and Captain Terry were early and waiting on us when we got to the dock! The catamaran boat was a lot of fun, our first time on one and we loved laying out in the sun! Captain Terry gave lots of information about the area. Highly recommended!!

Step aboard a 22-foot flats style fishing boat. Enjoying fishing on the water.

Captain Scott is a salty, seasoned, storytelling fisherman who will keep you entertained and fishing the entire trip. We caught shark and a huge ray. Lots of fun fishing as well as a shoreline tour of Cumberland island. Great day at sea.

Just returned from a terrific day on the pontoon boat with 6 family members. All of us had fun, We loved Captain Scott’s info and knowledge on our island’s history including Cumberland. We caught small sharks, a huge redfish and croakers that actually croaked! We had a blast! Do not hesitate it’s worth every dollar.

Amelia Island Fishing Charters

Inshore fishing charters are family-oriented and very kid friendly. This boat has a shallow draft that allows sight fishing in skinny water. On these inshore bottom fishing trips, you may catch redfish, spotted sea trout, flounder, cobia, tarpon, black drum, whiting and sharks.

We supply all rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice and fishing licenses for fishing charters. Family fishing trips can accommodate up to three guests.

Amelia Island Wildlife Boat Tours

See dolphins and manatees in the waters surrounding Amelia Island and see the wild horses on Cumberland Island. View and photograph birds and wildlife in the tidal marsh areas around Amelia Island and Cumberland Island. You will be able to see birds and wildlife such as dolphins, manatees, otters, raccoons, ospreys, eagles, herons, egrets, ibis, roseate spoonbills, sandpipers, oystercatchers, skimmers, and white pelicans.
