Yacht clubs have been an integral part of Florida’s history since the early 1900s, and they continue to attract boaters from all over the world.

The Evolution of Yacht Clubs in Florida

The first yacht club in Florida was established in 1884 in Jacksonville. It was called the Florida Yacht Club, and it is still in operation today. Since then, numerous yacht clubs have been established throughout the state, each with its unique charm and character.

Exclusive Yachts Membership Club - Naples Florida

Those who own yachts in Southwest Florida understand expenses don’t end with the upfront price tag. There are operational, docking, crew and maintenance expenses that continue throughout the ownership of the yacht.

Naples-based Exclusive Yachts membership club seeks to take away the challenges of owning and operating a luxury watercraft while allowing members to enjoy their own personalized yachting experiences.

“[Yachting is] an absolutely fantastic experience, but all too often that experience comes with these incumbrances and hassles,” Exclusive Yachts CEO Scott Stuckmann said. “[It could be] logistical challenges because you have to organize everything, put everything together, or … the emotional challenges of will there be an engine problem? All these people are flying in [for] this very special day. Is there something that could go wrong?”

most expensive yacht club in florida

With a focus on geographic flexibility, Exclusive Yachts can take passengers on a long weekend in the Florida Keys or a two-week voyage to the Mediterranean. The company launched at the end of April, and agreements already are in place with yacht owners on the west and east coasts of Florida , Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and the Bahamas, with plans to expand to other locations.

“The boats rotate due to hurricane season, so, right now, many of our boats are leaving the Bahamas and moving up to the Nantucket area or Newport, Rhode Island,” Stuckmann said. “Like birds migrate, boats migrate, yachts migrate.”

most expensive yacht club in florida

The lowest price membership, called the Robusto, includes a one-time $40,000 fee in addition to a $70,000 annual fee, which amounts to 625 YachtPoints. The most expensive membership is the Churchill, which has a $120,000 one-time fee and a $250,000 annual fee equaling 2,500 YachtPoints. Members use the points to pay for their trips.

“[Yachting is] an incredibly expensive undertaking,” Stuckmann said. “Four million dollars for a yacht isn’t unheard of, and it can certainly go much, much higher very quickly. And just to keep that yacht in the water is usually 10% of the purchase cost per year.”

Aboard one of the Exclusive Yachts’ vessels, passengers can expect the luxury of a crew tending to their personalized needs, learning more than just passengers’ favorite wines and meals.

“We know their favorite playlists, their anniversary, birthdays, and we can put digital picture frames on our larger yachts, so it will welcome them with pictures of their family or colleagues if it’s a corporate event,” Stuckmann said.

Although Exclusive Yachts is brand new, elements of its business model have been used in Naples for more than 15 years. Naples Nantucket Yacht Charters, which was founded by Bill Charbonneau, who is now a co-founder of Exclusive Yachts, is known for its luxury trips up the East Coast.

“We found that some of the customers were so passionate about the idea, they liked an idea of a subscription model, and we did some work against that to actually create this really innovative new concept, which has resonated,” Stuckmann said. “Therefore, we were kind of born in Naples. It’s not only our home port, it’s where we started.”

Exclusive Yachts already has secured nine memberships with plans to cap its membership at 50 annually, with plans to increase memberships as the business grows.

“While our membership model is new and unique to yachting, the real draw is consistent luxury,” Charbonneau said. “Unlike chartering or owning, the ability to enjoy time on the water with friends and family without surprises is invariably priceless. Our team is passionate about sharing a seamless, memorable experience that is perfect for those who are yachting more than once or twice a year.”

Most Exclusive Yacht Clubs in America

Published on July 5th, 2016 by Editor -->

If you’re looking for a place to dock that new yacht of yours, you can’t go wrong with any of the 11 most exclusive yacht clubs in America.

Owning a yacht is the ultimate show of wealth. But getting one is just a first step on claiming your spot among the world’s elite. Some would argue that a membership in the right, preferably highly exclusive, yacht club is just as important as the actual ownership of a boat.

To decide which 11 are the most exclusive yacht clubs in America, InsiderMonkey.com took a look at several sources. They started with the Platinum Clubs of America and their 2014 listing of best yacht clubs in the US . To further distinguish them, they added points for winners of the America’s Cup, one of the most prestigious yachting races in the world, and Resolute Cup, sometimes called the unofficial club championship of America in yachting. Here are the results…

11. Southern Yacht Club Location: New Orleans, Louisiana Founded: 1849

most expensive yacht club in florida

Southern Yacht Club suffered greatly from the Hurricane Katrina. The club house was severely damaged by the fire that broke during the storm and it had to be demolished. Unfortunately, a large number of priceless yachting artifacts were lost in the process. Still, the club survived and in 2009, the members celebrated 160 years since its founding. The club played an important role in New Orleans’ social life throughout its history and continues to do so. Southern Yacht Club organizes the Race to the Coast, one of the oldest yachting regattas in the Western hemisphere. Its members won 4 golden medals in the Summer Olympics for the United States.

10. Grosse Pointe Yacht Club Location: Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan Founded: 1914

Founded by the group of 25 sailing enthusiasts in 1914, Grosse Pointe Yacht Club is located on the shores of Lake St. Clair. Its clubhouse, designed by Guy Lowell, is listed on National Register of Historic Places. Unfortunately, Lowell didn’t get to see his creation, since he died at sea before the building was finished. The most prominent feature is the 187-ft bell tower, which doubles as the radio far for sailors on Lake St. Clair. In 1997, in a survey among the managers of the yacht clubs across the United States, Grosse Pointe Yacht Club was named Number One Yacht Club in America.

9. Palm Beach Yacht Club Location: Palm Beach, Florida Founded: 1890 (re-chartered 1911)

What started as a local association of enthusiasts to promote sailing on Intracoastal Waterway soon developed into one of the best yachting clubs in America. Among other amenities it offers to the members, Pal Palm Beach Yacht Club takes great pride in their restaurant, which won several prestigious international awards, like the Epicurean International Award, limited to just 100 restaurants on the planet.

8. Chicago Yacht Club Location: Chicago, Illinois Founded: 1875

The Great Lakes offer some of the best freshwater sailings in the world and Chicago Yacht Club is taking full advantage of that fact. It hosts annual Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac, which brings more than 3,000 sailors from the entire country to the shores of Lake Michigan and Chicago Harbor Lighthouse. Although often teased by the other clubs about their lack of saltiness, members of Chicago Yacht Club are very proud of their club and its achievements. Among notable members are Robert Halperin and William Parks, the bronze medalist from the 1960 Olympics.

7. Annapolis Yacht Club Location: Annapolis, Maryland Founded: 1886

Annapolis, America’s Sailing Capital, is a home to a several yachting and boating clubs, but the premier spot goes to the Annapolis Yacht Club. Among other races, the club organizes the traditional Annapolis to Newport race, one of the most iconic races in America’s yachting history. Although the effects of a devastating fire that ravaged the clubhouse in 2015 are still visible, club’s 1600-strong membership body has come together to mend the disaster.

6. Newport Harbor Yacht Club Location: Newport Beach, California Founded: 1916

Newport Harbor Yacht Club is one of the several premier clubs on the West coast. The club played a vital role in the development of Newport Beach throughout its history. Its clubhouse, built in 1919, is considered as one of the most important local landmarks and is one of the oldest clubhouses on our list. Despite several enlargements and reconstructions, it struggles to offer top notch service to the club’s members and plans for a new one are under development. In 1986, the club sent a crew to try and qualify for the next year’s America’s Cup, but unfortunately, they lost to the San Diego’s boat, which eventually won the Cup.

5. Carolina Yacht Club Location: Charleston, South Carolina Founded: 1883

Located in the beautiful historic setting of Battery in Charleston’s downtown, Carolina Yacht Club looks like Scarlett O’Hara will come in any second accompanied by Captain Butler. The fact that the clubhouse is in the old cotton factor’s office, with Greek columns on the waterfront, only reinforces the impression of the Old South. Members like to boast that their club has the best yachting facilities on the East Coast. While there are quite a few clubs that would disagree, Caroline Yacht Club’s location with the access to Charleston Harbor is certainly among the best in the nation. It is one of the reasons for its high placement on our list of 11 most exclusive yacht clubs in America.

4. San Diego Yacht Club Location: San Diego, California Founded: 1886

San Diego Yacht Club is one of the most prominent clubs in America’s yachting history. Its crews and boats won the America’s Cup two times, making it the only American club besides New York Yacht Club and Golden Gate Yacht Club to take home the much-coveted Auld Mug. In their third attempt, they lost to the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in 1995. It is also the original home of the Sir Thomas Lipton Cup, a prestigious regatta held annually since 1904. In order to provide its members with an excellent service, San Diego Yacht Club employs over 100 people in its clubhouse. The club runs one of the most successful youth programs in the country, which has a great appeal to members and wannabe members with kids.

3. The San Francisco Yacht Club Location: Belvedere, California Founded: 1869

Founded in 1869, San Francisco Yacht Club is the oldest yachting club on the West Coast. The clubhouse was moved several times, until it finally settled in its current location, in Belvedere Cove, in 1926. The move split the membership and one group decided to form a new club, called St. Francis Yacht Club. Despite the controversy surrounding the relocation, it proved to be the right move, as Belvedere Cove is an excellent harbor and it allowed the club to create world-class amenities for its members and their guests. The clubhouse went through an extensive reconstruction in 2007, modernizing existing features and adding some new ones, in order to bring it up with the times.

2. St. Francis Yacht Club Location: San Francisco Founded: 1927

Formed by the dissatisfied members of the San Francisco Yacht Club who opposed the move to Belvedere, St. Francis Yacht Club has quickly gained a reputation of a premier yacht club, often ranking higher than their rivals at the San Francisco Yacht Club, much to their chagrin. It is generally considered the most prestigious yacht club on the Western coast. One of the reasons for its popularity is the club’s location near the Golden Gate Bridge. Some of the most notable members include James David Zellerbach, Tom Blackaller, Pamela Healy, and Roy Disney.

1. New York Yacht Club Location: New York, New York Founded: 1844

The top spot on our list of 11 most exclusive yacht clubs in America goes to the New York Yacht Club. It has about 3,000 members and the only way to become one of them is to be invited. New York Yacht Club is the essential part of the iconic America’s Cup, having won it 25 times. It is officially the longest winning streak in the history of sports. The cup itself is named after America, NYYC schooner which won the first cup ever held in 1851. Its rivalry with Britain’s Royal Yacht Squadron is one of the greatest in the history of the sport and certainly the greatest among yachting clubs of the world. New York Yacht Club is regularly listed among the top 3 best yachting clubs in the world.

The best superyacht marinas in Miami

One island park.

In Miami, everyone wants a piece of the waterfront. Condos, restaurants and private homes all try to stake claim on the ever-disappearing property by bay (and sea). Luckily, in a water-centric city like Miami, marinas take up a good portion of this prime real estate .

With dockage available in every waterfront neighbourhood, you can decide what amenities you seek, how much privacy you desire and which part of Miami you’d like to be based to explore this exciting city .

1. One Island Park

The One Island Park compound opened in Miami Beach in November last year and is designed solely for superyachts and is able to accommodate yachts measuring up to 244 metres in its deep water berths.

Visitors to One Island Park will enjoy a vast range of VIP concierge services, as well as a high level of exclusivity. The new compound was designed to showcase both the area and the best standards of service, meaning it will become an extremely popular spot for private owners, while its location means that clients can enjoy the thriving art scene, the beaches and the nightlife of Miami.

Island Gardens

The new superyacht marina Island Gardens Deep Harbour is situated on Watson Island and is capable of berthing 50 superyachts measuring up to 167 metres. The retail and residential aspects of the marina are not expected to be completed for the next two years, but the marina is fully operational with 1,524 linear metres of capacity with drafts of 5.4-6.4 metres deep.

Coconut Grove

Home to the U.S. Sailing Center and multiple yacht clubs, Coconut Grove is a hotbed for yachting activity. The 582-slip Dinner Key Marina, which survived the worst of the hurricane damage in September, sits right in the centre, and only steps away from the shops and restaurants of “The Grove.” The protected marina hosts yachts up to 38 metres with two metres of draft.

Sea Isle Marina

The Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Centre is a great place for yachts up to 42 metres to tie-up and be in close distance to what downtown has to offer with the Adrienne Arsht Center for the performing arts and the arena where the Miami Heat play right around the corner. There are also great restaurants right on site, as well as fuel and a ship’s store.

Miamarina at Bayside

Surrounded by shops, dining and even an outdoor auditorium, the Miamarina at Bayside is a lively marina. The marina has 130 slips and hosts yachts up to 60 metres and offers easy access to both the Atlantic through Government Cut and to Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys to the south.

Epic Marina

Epic Marina is surely one of the plushest in Miami and despite being hit hard during Hurricane Irma, is once again capable of hosting superyachts up to 95 metres. In the shadow of Miami’s luxe Epic Residences & Hotel, the marina isn’t short on high-end amenities. Guests can enjoy sumptuous meals at on site restaurants Area 31 and Zuma.

Sunset Harbour Yacht Club

Set off the Venetian Causeway on Biscayne Bay, Sunset Harbour Yacht Club offers ample dockage outside of the hubbub of the Miami Beach scene. Catering to yachts up to 45 metres with 125 deepwater slips, the designated “clean marina”, an initiative started by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, has some great amenities including a pool and fitness centre. Fuel can be delivered and it is loacated right around the corner from a large Publix supermarket for easy provisioning.

Indian Creek Marina

Across from Miami’s iconic and historic Fountainbleau Resort on Collins Avenue, Indian Creek Marina at the Fountainbleau Resort (home to one of the best hotel spas to visit in Miami ) can host yachts up to 76 metres. In February, this waterway is lined with yachts during the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show. The rest of the year, it’s open to transiting yachts and makes a great destination marina that is in close distance to Miami’s finest spas and eateries, as it's located right across from the beach.

Miami Beach Marina

In the south end of Miami Beach, the full-service Miami Beach Marina has 400 slips for yachts up to 76 metres. The marina offers direct access to Government Cut, a manmade shipping channel between Miami Beach and Fisher Island, which allows better access to the Port of Miami. Likewise, it’s only moments to the best of what South Beach has to offer; the beach and the best restaurants, nightlife and spas are just steps away.

Private Marinas

Yachtsmen seeking a private marina experience while in Miami should look no further than these havens:

The exclusive private island community of Fisher Island Club, across from Miami Beach, is ‘members only’, but sponsorship (from a member or the dockmaster) allows temporary membership for yachts up to 76.2 metres in length to tie up in the marina. And their owners can enjoy all the perks of the club, including the beach club, spa, tennis centre, hotel, restaurants and PB Dye-designed golf course.

Midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale in Aventura, Turnberry Isle Marina Yacht Club accommodates 117 yachts up to 45-metres. Amenities include 24-hour security, a private ocean club, pool, spa, several restaurants, and two 18-hole Raymond Floyd-designed championship golf courses.

In the quest to discover the epitome of maritime luxury and distinction, the search for the Most Exclusive Yacht Clubs in America takes center stage. Owning a yacht is not merely a symbol of opulence; it is the initial stride towards securing a coveted position within the global elite. Yet, within this realm, it is widely acknowledged that membership in a prestigious yacht club holds equal, if not greater, significance than yacht ownership itself.

Consider the tale of Roman Abramovich, renowned for possessing one of the world's most opulent private jets and the most lavish yacht. Astonishingly, even these credentials failed to secure him entry into the inner sanctum of the British elite, who maintain their exclusivity with unwavering resolve. British yacht clubs, with their hallowed traditions, have long been revered as bastions of exclusivity. An example that stands out is the Royal Yacht Squadron, the world's most esteemed yacht club, which only admitted women as members in 2013, exemplifying the enduring barriers to entry even in the face of societal progress. Remarkably, this exclusivity extended even to Her Majesty the Queen, their patron, who, despite her regal association with the club, was not granted membership.

To identify the Most Exclusive Yacht Clubs in America, we embarked on a meticulous journey. Beginning with a thorough examination of the Platinum Clubs of America's esteemed listing of the finest yacht clubs in the United States, we elevated select candidates by acknowledging their triumphs in prestigious yachting events, including the illustrious America's Cup and the Resolute Cup, often hailed as the unofficial club championship of America in yachting. The culmination of our pursuit presents you with the ultimate showcase of yacht club exclusivity on American shores.

2. St. Francis Yacht Club

Location: San Francisco Founded: 1927

Formed by the dissatisfied members of the San Francisco Yacht Club who opposed the move to Belvedere, St. Francis Yacht Club has quickly gained a reputation of a premier yacht club, often ranking higher than their rivals at the San Francisco Yacht Club, much to their chagrin. It is generally considered the most prestigious yacht club on the Western coast. One of the reasons for its popularity is the club’s location near the Golden Gate Bridge. Some of the most notable members include James David Zellerbach, Tom Blackaller, Pamela Healy, and Roy Disney.

7 Boat Clubs in Florida You Should Know (Before Choosing)

' src=

Joining a boat club is a great way to gain access to a fleet of boats without the need for hefty financial investments or laborious maintenance on a ship. Around the peninsula of Florida, several different boat clubs will allow you to rent their boats in exchange for a monthly fee. Knowing which ones are available and what they can offer helps you to make a wise commitment.

If you have been thinking of joining a boat club in Florida, here are a few examples that you should know about.

Table of Contents

Freedom Boat Club

Freedom Boat Club offers the oldest and largest fleet compared to that of other boat clubs in Florida and around the world. Each of its boats is reserved for members-only usage so that you always have access to the boat you want when you want it. The only expense that you pay in exchange for this freedom is an initial fee, your monthly membership dues, and the cost of your fuel.

One of the main attractions of joining the Freedom Boat Club is the variety of membership options .

Based on how often and when you want to use the boat, you can choose from one of these unique offerings:

  • Seasonal passes
  • Year-round passes
  • Weekday passes
  • Family and friends option

They have more than a dozen locations around the state of Florida, and you can use any of their marinas. This is great if you planned to do a little traveling this summer or just want to explore some different waterways that are right in your backyard.

Another of the significant advantages is that members are not locked into lengthy contracts. You are required to give a 60-day written notice if you plan to cancel your membership, but this is relatively simple to do.

Carefree Boat Club

Carefree Boat Club is another one of the largest boat clubs with destinations across the United States and Canada. They have plenty of locations to choose from in Florida, making them an excellent option if you plan to do a little traveling this summer. You can access the fleet anywhere that you come across the Carefree Boat Club name so that you can be on the open water during whatever vacation you choose.

While each location is slightly different, membership here still feels relatively exclusive . Managers strive to have one boat allocated to every ten members. Boats are never chartered or rented out, even during peak seasons.

One of the best things about choosing a membership through Carefree Boat Club is the variety of options you have. Members can choose unlimited access, weekend-only access, or weekday access based on their budget and time. Be sure to call your local Carefree Boat Club to discuss what membership options are available for you.

This is also an ideal option for new boaters or those who may be a little rusty behind the wheel. All new members must read through the training manual and take a hands-on class where you are taught all of the fundamentals of sailing before being released onto the open water.

Premier Boat Club

Premier Boat Club is a smaller option for someone who may not be doing much traveling. Located in Stuart, this club has some of the best offerings for different types of ships that you can reserve . Reservations can be made up to one year in advance, and each member may make four reservations annually.

Enjoy ships such as:

  • 20’ Hurricane Deck Boat
  • 21’ Hydra-Sports Dual Console
  • 21’ Caravelle Center Console
  • 21’ Angler Center Console
  • 23’ Century Center Console

Much like some of the leading boat clubs like Carefree and Freedom , Premier Boat Club also offers unlimited training. That makes this club a favorite for individuals or families who have never owned a boat before.

New members are required to undergo orientation that covers information regarding local waterways, safe anchoring, and docking procedures. Orientation typically lasts for approximately 2.5 hours, but there is always a staff member available if you have further questions.

Unlike some boat clubs that only allow you to rent the boats during set hours, Premier has a more laidback policy. Prospective members can reserve boats for an evening cruise, an early sunrise excursion, or even an overnight trip to local spots.

One of the major selling features of the Premier Boat Club is that it includes the price of your insurance and any towing that may be necessary in the event of an accident. When you own a boat, this is a significant expense that must be accounted for, but it is included in your membership here.

South Florida Boat Club

The South Florida Boat Club boasts two significant locations, one in the famous Fort Lauderdale area and another in Key Biscayne. Together, these two destinations have been serving the greater Miami area for more than a decade.

They place a great emphasis on maintaining their large fleet and helping it to grow in accordance with the number of members enrolled in their program. Based on the demand from their customers, South Florida Boat Club can offer a wide variety of boats, including center-console boats, bowriders, deck boats, and cruiser models.

Each year, the United States Coast Guard inspects each boat to ensure that it is still seaworthy from the previous season . This gives prospective members more peace of mind about their safety out on the open water.

Another key feature of the South Florida Boat Club is that there are no restrictions on the amount that you can use a boat. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance, but there is no limit to the number of reservations you can make with a full membership. There are no daily charges for taking a boat out on the water. You pay only for the cost of fuel.

Gulf Stream Boat Club

If you like the idea of having a full-service experience, then the Gulf Stream Boat Club is probably the right choice for you.

They can get you started the right way with a wide variety of activities, but first, you must choose from one of three convenient locations:

  • Delray Beach
  • Boynton Beach

This club provides sunset cruises, wakeboarding and waterskiing lessons, and fishing guides or equipment. You can even enjoy a catered lunch or dinner while you are out and about on one of their seaworthy vessels.

Many boat clubs provide their boats solely for member use, but Gulf Stream Boat Club also offers chartered boats as well. If you want to take your family out on the water without the hassle of manning the boat yourself, you can take advantage of their licensed captains for a charter. This is an excellent option if you are just learning how to navigate a boat on your own.

For those who need a little help, they also offer lessons on boat safety and operation.

Jacksonville Boat Club

The Jacksonville Boat Club has been in business since 2008 and maintains excellent ratings with the Better Business Bureau. As you may have already guessed, this boat club resides in its namesake city with only one convenient location for you to rent their boats for the day. Membership is open to all individuals aged 21 or older, regardless of previous boating experience.

When it comes to renting the boats, you also gain access to all of the toys that you could ever want:

  • Performance life jackets

For a boat club with only one location, the Jacksonville Boat Club has an impressive lineup of ships. They have almost twenty different vessels to choose from, with options specifically designed for fishing, watersports, or just cruising around on the open water with friends and family. Some of their makes and models are even considered to be pet-friendly.

All of their boats are exclusively reserved for member use. They are never chartered or rented out by other individuals during slow seasons.

Like many of the other top boat clubs in Florida that you should know about, Jacksonville Boat Club also offers hands-on training. They cover topics such as familiarity with local waterways, how to operate the boats, how to pull alongside the pier, and how to enter a slip at the local marina.

Destination Boat Club

Destination Boat Club is a growing company that you should keep an eye out for if you are interested in Florida boat clubs. They currently maintain three locations (Cape Coral, Naples, and Key West), but they are looking to expand into Miami Beach and Tampa soon. This could be beneficial for boaters who want to travel statewide during the summer months because the membership is reciprocal.

One of the main benefits of joining the Destination Boat Club is access to their luxury marina resort locations . They offer more amenities than some of the boat clubs, and this can be a real perk that takes your boating experience to the next level.

You can conveniently book your reservation online without incurring any additional fees. The only cost that you pay to use the boat is the cost of the fuel used during your excursion.

As with all of the leading boat clubs, Destination does provide on-water training to help you get a feel for their boats. With all of the potential benefits, that makes Destination Boat Club a favorite for many beginners.

Florida has 7 of top 10 most expensive neighborhoods in America. Here's where they are

Florida might have one of the fastest-growing populations in the country , but that isn’t because it’s a cheap place to rent or buy a home.

The most expensive neighborhood to buy a home nationwide is in Florida, according to a recent study from home services company Neighborly ’s home painting service Five Star Painting.

The study used  the Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI) , which includes home value data for over 21,000 neighborhoods, to determine the most expensive neighborhoods in the 50 largest U.S. cities and nationwide.

And Florida neighborhoods took seven of the top 10 rankings for the most expensive neighborhoods nationwide. Here's which communities ranked as the most expensive in the country for prospective home buyers.

What area in the U.S. has the most expensive homes?

“In opulent zip codes around the U.S., real estate prices reach astronomical figures, driven by a complex mixture of scarcity, demand, and the cachet of location,” the study said.

“Despite broader market uncertainties, homes in luxury neighborhoods in states like California, Florida, and New York have not only held their value but have seen significant price increases in recent years.”

Of the seven Florida neighborhoods that made the list, four are in the Miami metropolitan area, two are in Naples and one is in Palm Beach County.

Gables Estates in Coral Gables, a suburb of Miami, took first place on this rankings list, with the average home value hovering close to $17 million.

“Gables Estates is a pristine gated community offering residents both privacy and panoramic water views,” the study said.

“The neighborhood also includes world-class amenities like golf courses, tennis courts, and a private yacht club with membership application fees starting at $100,000 .”

Naples' Port Royal neighborhood took second place. In Port Royal, home values saw a 2.42% increase over the last year, averaging around $16.2 million.

According to the study, “The real estate market in Naples, particularly in Port Royal, has shown resilience and growth, attracting investors and buyers from around the world.”

What's the most expensive neighborhood in America?

Here’s Five Star Painting and Neighborly’s list of the most expensive communities to buy a house in nationwide and their average home values, based on Zillow data:

  • Gables Estates in Coral Gables, Florida: $16,806,342
  • Port Royal in Naples, Florida: $16,233,953
  • Beverly Hills Gateway in Beverly Hills, California: $10,229,822
  • Old Cutler Bay in Coral Gables, Florida: $9,301,986
  • The Flats in Beverly Hills, California: $8,743,865
  • Di Lido Island in Miami Beach, Florida: $8,537,501
  • Aqualane Shore in Naples, Florida: $8,507,397
  • Trousdale Estates in Beverly Hills, California: $8,500,015
  • San Marino Island in Miami Beach, Florida: $8,496,184
  • Bear's Club in Jupiter, Florida: $8,385,889

Where are the most expensive houses in Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Jacksonville?

The Neighborly study also found the most expensive neighborhoods within each of the 50 largest cities in the U.S.

Here are the top three most expensive neighborhoods in each of Florida’s largest cities and their average home values:

  • Culbreath Isles, $2.9 million
  • Golf View, $1.8 million
  • Parkland Estates, $1.5 million
  • Lake Nona Estates, $2.2 million
  • Rose Isle, $1.2 million
  • Lancaster Park, $749,287
  • South-West Coconut Grove, $1.4 million
  • Biscayne Island, $1.4 million
  • Fair Isle, $1.3 million
  • Jacksonville:
  • Isle of Palms, $723,578
  • Fort George Island, $690,087
  • Miramar, $608,307

A look at the most expensive superyachts at the Palm Beach yacht show and their insane features, from basketball courts on deck to ice baths and saunas

  • The Palm Beach International Boat Show kicks off later this week.
  • Eight megayachts are expected to be on display for would-be buyers and charter customers.
  • These are the show's biggest yachts — and how many millions of dollars they are going for.

Insider Today

The Palm Beach International Boat Show — the yacht world's flashiest event stateside — is returning this year with over 800 boats for both deep-pocketed potential owners and window shoppers to peruse.

While it's impossible to know what exactly will be on display until the show begins on Thursday, it's expected that eight megayachts — generally defined as ships over 60 meters long — will be docked at the show and at nearby marinas like the Rybovich Marina in the ritzy Florida town.

Some of these are for sale at eye-popping prices, but others are available to charter in case you fancy living like a billionaire for a week or two this summer (and if you have six figures to spare on a vacation).

These are the eight biggest yachts that will be at the Palm Beach International Boat Show and nearby marinas, in size order.

Nero: 90.1 meters

Price: From $497,000 a week (charter) Standout features: Pizza ovens, beauty salon, massage room, resistance pool

Reportedly owned by Irish billionaire Denis O'Brien, Nero is modeled after J.P. Morgan's 1930s ship , and was built in 2007 and updated in 2021.

She now boasts a gym on her sundeck with multiple cardio machines and a beauty salon, and has an on-board beautician for manicure, pedicure, hair, and massage needs. There's also an upgraded movie theater, two new pizza ovens, and both a pool and a jacuzzi.

For those who want to go overboard, she has more than a dozen toys, including a waterslide, Jet Ski, and flyboard.

Victorious: 85 meters

Price: From $876,600 a week in the summer and $950,000 a week in the winter Standout features: Hammam (Turkish bath), wine cellar, wood-burning fireplace, children's playroom

Victorious brings a party vibe to the yacht show. With a beach club on board, a wine cellar, a cigar clubroom , multiple bars, and a lounge with a piano, the vessel is made for entertaining. Plus, there's a playroom and movie theater to entertain the kids.

For tamer charter clients, Victorious has a suite of wellness features such as a gym, massage room, beauty salon and hammam — perhaps a custom request of her owner, Turkish businessman Vural Ak.

She also boasts a treasure trove of water toys, including Jet Skis, jetsurfs, inflatable kayaks, and scuba equipment.

Casino Royale: 72 meters

Price: TBD Special Features: Infinity pool, helipad, private jacuzzi

Purchased and refitted by car dealer magnate John Staluppi last year, Casino Royale is the latest of his James Bond-inspired yachts (he's also owned an Octopussy and a Skyfall, among others).

Casino Royale has a helipad that turns into a dancefloor, an infinity pool, and a wellness center with a gym and sauna. The owner's cabin has its own deck, which features a private bar and jacuzzi.

However, the boat's price isn't listed, and while she's not necessarily officially for sale, that might change depending on who's prepared to buy, Mr. Bond.

Talisman C: 70.6 meters

Price: $60 million (or from $567,000 a week to charter) Special features: Massage and beauty room, private library

Likely the largest yacht for sale (not just charter) at the show, the Talisman C is a 2011 six-bedroom boat. The owner's cabin comes with an en suite bathroom, dressing room, private library, and crystal chandeliers.

Amenities include a gym, a beauty room, oversized jacuzzi, and a fully equipped bar. Her crew of 19 includes a trained masseuse, and the toy room comes equipped with a wakeboard, eFoil , and WaveRunners.

Joy: 70 meters

Price: From $650,000 a week Special features: Disco club, basketball court, onboard fitness instructor

Superyacht Joy testifies to the fact that owners want as many on-board experiences as they can get.

There's an expansive suite of fitness features, including a basketball court (don't shoot that hoop too hard!), a personal trainer on staff, boxing equipment, and a handful of machines. For post-workout winddowns, there's a spa with a steam room and onboard masseuse. And for entertainment, there's both an outdoor and indoor cinema, and a disco club.

Triumph: 65.4 meters

Price: From $707,600 a week in the summer and $650,000 a week in the winter Special features: Sauna, helipad, banana boat

This 2021 superyacht is named after Triumph motorcycles — a reported favorite of her rumored owner, British businessman Chris Dawson — and even has one on display as an art piece in the upper deck's lounge. The primary suite is 1,400 square feet and has its own study , and there's a sauna, an indoor-outdoor gym, a helipad, and a massage room spread among her six decks.

She boasts an "armada of water toys," including two kinds of Jet Skis, electric water bikes, and a banana boat.

Seanna: 64.5 meters

Price: $54,000,000 (or from $462,000 a week to charter) Special features: marble foyer, movie room, sundeck pool

The recently refurbished Seanna is available for sale and charter.

Her indoor-outdoor gym is on sea level so that passengers can take a dip after a session with the onboard personal trainer. There's also a sundeck pool, a helipad, a two-room massage facility, and, for the more cerebral guests, a library with an electric fireplace.

There are a number of toys on board, including a popular water trampoline and two WaveRunners.

Come Together: 60 meters

Price: $65,000,000 Special Features: DJ and videographer on board, ice bath, sauna

Next-to-new yacht Come Together is looking for a new owner after doing charters during the 2023 season.

The Beatles' influence is evident beyond the yacht's name, with guitars dotting the sky lounge and a crewmember who doubles as a DJ. There's also an outdoor cinema and bar for entertainment and an ice bath and sauna for the day after the party. Waterfront Boca Raton Mansion Sells for $19M

A Michigan couple sold their waterfront mansion in Boca Raton’s Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club for $19 million, marking another late season eight-figure deal in the city’s most expensive community.

John and Barbara Simoni sold the double lot house at 174 West Coconut Palm Road to the M. Sean and M. Beth Revocable Trusts, managed by attorney Jonathan Bloom, records show. The true buyer is unknown.

David Roberts of Royal Palm Properties represented both sides of the deal. Roberts was the top agent in The Real Deal’s 2023 ranking of Palm Beach County brokers, with nearly $350 million in on-market deals.

John Simoni was president of Vista Asset Management in Battle Creek, Michigan, according to the Better Business Bureau. The Simonis assembled the West Coconut Palm Road property in a pair of deals in 1998 and 2005, property records show. They spent a combined $4.4 million on the 0.8 waterfront acres. Their mansion, built in 1999, spans 7,600 square feet, with five bedrooms, six bathrooms and one half-bathroom, according to records and the listing. It includes a library, two offices, a pool and 216 feet of waterfront, the listing shows.

The Simonis had the home on and off the market as far back as 2009, but relisted it in 2023 asking $23.5 million, Realtor.com shows.

Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club is Boca Raton’s most expensive neighborhood. In May, Constant Contact founder Randy Parker and his family sold a waterfront teardown in the community to spec developers Steve and Scott Dingle for $36 million , marking a price record for Boca Raton.

Spec mansions are particularly popular with Royal Palm’s luxury buyers. In April, a hotelier sold a waterfront spec mansion for $28.5 million , right after another waterfront spec mansion sold for $26.5 million . In March, the convenience store mogul G. Robert Sheetz sold a waterfront spec mansion for $25.9 million .

“Pol!ce shut us down and kicked us out air bnb that’s crazy work,” the rapper wrote on Instagram later showing a crowd at a hotel and a flyer to a party at a nightclub.

According to the Tampa Bay Police Department and the rapper’s attorney, Charles Andrew Jones II was killed during a shooting that injured three others at about 4:40 a.m., at 11606 McKinley Drive. Confirmation from the medical examiner’s office was pending.

The rapper’s birthday was on Friday, but he had a weekend of celebrations that ended with the Sunday morning shooting near the Holiday Inn Tampa North, an IHG Hotel, and across the street from the University of South Florida campus.

The Florida Times Union reported that after the rapper had an attempt on his life in November 2021 in Jacksonville’s Riverside area he used Instagram to taunt the shooters by saying, “You all miss a whole 100 shots literally.”

The rapper was open about his associations with the Jacksonville-based gang KTA and how his 18-year-old half-brother Tre’von R. Bullard was fatally shot and his half-brother Kenyata T. Bullard who was with him was injured on June 5, 2018.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the homicide to call 813-231-6130.
