Horizon FD80 Hull Six Launches
NEWS | March 22, 2022
Built for an American owner, the new FD80 features a touch-and-go helipad.
Customization is a cornerstone of the Horizon Yachts philosophy, and the company proudly employs a talented engineering team to consider advanced customization requests – many of which are first-time features aboard current models. Recently launched, the FD80 hull six offers a touch-and-go helipad on the boat deck, which is the first time this feature has been engineered for this model.
The design of the FD80 appealed to the first-time Horizon owner for its four-stateroom layout, on-deck master suite, aft beach club and enclosed skylounge. A generous aft deck fitted with a built-in settee and a freestanding dining table for eight segues through fully opening glass doors into the open-plan main salon, which is fitted with matte oak and walnut as the main woods and features a dayhead aft to port and a convivial off-white leather L-shaped sofa and seating area. Opposite, a convertible table serves multiple roles as a work table, breakfast bar or interior dining table. The galley forward features a privacy window that can be opened or closed, with a counter overhang and bar stools for conversing with the chef. The master ensuite is situated forward and has been designed with a spacious walk-in closet and a large skylight that floods the room with natural light when open.
Three additional ensuite staterooms comprising two VIPs in the bow and to port and a convertible twin to starboard are situated on the lower deck, while spacious crew quarters for four aft of the engine room. A fully equipped beach club invites interaction with the sea from the Hi/Lo swim platform that can accommodate the yacht’s tender.
On the upper deck, the owner opted for an enclosed skylounge configuration aft of the helm station, with the entire aft portion of the boat deck dedicated to the yacht’s helipad. This feature has been incorporated for an owner of an FD85, but is the first to be designed aboard an FD80 model. On this hull, a hydraulic, folding hardtop overhang allows for convenient rotor blades clearance. Additional seating and dining with a Hi/Lo table is designed for the foredeck.
Named Amphib by her owner, the new FD80 is scheduled to be delivered in the Spring of 2022, after which the owners plan to cruise The Bahamas and both coasts of the United States.

Top 10 Best Yachts with Helipads
19th jan 2023 by samantha wilson.
The world’s superyachts are the most opulent, luxurious and downright impressive machines ever built. And coming high on the list of superyacht design features is a helipad. With helipad design a hot topic for today’s shipbuilders, it would be logical to assume that it’s only the biggest of the yachts that can accommodate them. In fact, the motor yacht Buckpasser was one of the first to be built with a helipad in the 1980s, and at 36.8 metres she is a long way off the largest on the seas.
A helipad is the superyacht must-have, allowing owners and guests the chance to explore further and get to and from their yacht quicker. These air tenders are the next step from traditional tenders, providing the chance to explore remote far-flung corners of the world, or to simply travel in comfort and ease.
Helipads come in all shapes and sizes on superyachts, with everything from commercial landing pads to touch-and-go decks. Some are designed to blend subtly into the overall aesthetic, either on the aft or foredecks, while others are being designed as a stand-out feature.
Here we take a look at the top10 most impressive yachts with helipads ;
Built by Fincantieri in 2011, Serene makes the top 10 list because she boasts not one but two helipads, one of which converts into a swimming pool when not in use. She was also designed with a helicopter hangar, meaning her helicopters can be stored safely away when the ship is underway as well as allowing for more deck space. Did you know, it is safer to land a helicopter on the aft helipad when the yacht is moving? The reason for this is that being underway gives the yacht more stability.
When Oceanco rolled out 81 metre Alfa Nero in 2007 jaws around the world dropped. At the heart of her exterior design was a huge infinity pool with a glass aft end for uninterrupted views of the sea. Blink, however, and the pool disappears. The floor of the pool can be raised to create a shallow children’s pool, or brought fully up to create a dancefloor or, yes you guessed it, a helicopter landing pad. In keeping with the yacht’s style and elegance, even the helipad is adorned with a teak H.
Almost all of the world’s largest superyachts have helipads on them and Eclipse, standing as one of the largest on the planet at 162 metre is no exception. In fact, this Goliath of yachts – which is owned by Roman Abramovich - has space to accommodate not one, but three helicopters as well as a hangar below the foredeck which acts as a specially designed heli-garage. Eclipse does everything on a grand scale. Even her swimming pool was, at the time of launch, the largest ever built on a superyacht at 16 metres in length.
Planet Nine
There is a new breed of explorer superyacht hitting the seas, and for anyone setting off to explore the most remote parts of the world a helicopter is a must. The 73-metre Planet Nine was built to cruise the planet’s most challenging corners, including expeditions in the Antarctic. As such, she was designed to accommodate two helicopters. Thanks to the use of a huge lift, one chopper can be stowed beneath the helipad in a hangar to make room for a second to land. Because of her long-range explorer capabilities, Planet Nine is also equipped with helicopter refuelling equipment.
If we’re talking about superyachts geared for adventure then the beautiful 72-metre Cloudbreak designed by Espen Øino must make the list. Built-in 2016 for her adventurous owner, she has everything an adrenaline junkie could ever want, including a helipad. Her owner uses the helicopter to enjoy a spot of heli-skiing on inaccessible mountains blanketed in virgin snow. In fact, there’s even a cinema lounge next to the helideck – perfect for watching helmet footage of the day’s exploits.
Lady Christine
On some yachts, the helipad is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible, blending into the overall aesthetic. Lady Christine isn’t one of those yachts. The owner of this 68 metre Feadship was a helicopter pilot himself and so the design very much focused around the helipad, with guests being able to step from the doors of the chopper and into an enclosed sundeck – the aptly named skylounge – in a few paces. The skylonge also doubles as a shelter from winds for greater ease of take-off and landing, showing just how much thought has gone into this key feature of the yacht.
Stella Maris
Also on the list is 72 metre Stella Maris, also by esteemed designer Espen Øino. Like the Lady Christine, Stella Maris’ helipad has been built as a focal point of the exterior design. A huge H sits in the middle of the sundeck, where loungers and adjacent twin swimming pools provide a central space for socialising and entertaining. When it’s time to jet off however, the sunbeds are rolled away and the deck is the perfect helipad. It’s a bold design which is moving away from attempting to hide the helicopter deck but instead creates a centrepiece with a dual purpose.
Another impressive bit of helipad design is seen on the 66 metre Feadship Vanish. Its main helicopter landing area is on the foredeck, however, this yacht unusually has two helipads. A second deck on the aft of the ship is used to store the helicopter when the boat is underway. It means the helicopter has to be moved after passengers have disembarked on the foredeck but provides a secure space for longer passages. The foredeck acts as a landing area for daily operations and can be kept there for very short voyages or on anchor.
Built-in 2015 by Norwegian shipbuilder Kleven , the 107 metre Andromeda – which was named Ulysses when she was first launched – is one of the world’s most astounding explorer yachts. She is designed to cruise through the ice, has an 8,500nm range, and is ready to tackle any destination on the planet in the utmost of luxury. And alongside her commercial helipad, Andromeda also has a heli-hangar on the top deck. It provides both safe storages of the helicopter when the yacht is underway, and enough space to act as a workshop for essential maintenance. Check this Acury Kokomo Ailand MegaYacht for Sale
While superyachts aren’t short on space, it makes sense to maximise the use of a helipad when there isn’t a chopper in situ. The 95-metre Lürssen superyacht Kismet doubles up as a basketball court, with markings painted on it as well as the H. The helipad on this yacht is known as a touch-and-go, meaning choppers land, its passengers disembark and then it takes off again. The helicopter can’t be stored on board, but Kismet’s sports-loving owner wouldn’t want to disrupt the basketball for too long anyway.

Forward thinking: Standout superyacht foredecks
The superyacht foredeck has been reinvented to accommodate a variety of uses, from spa pools with a view and helipads to dedicated tender and toy storage. BOAT rounds up the best superyacht foredecks out there.
Perfect Lady
The foredeck on board the first Mangusta Gransport 33 Perfect Lady is notable not only for the fresh ambience, gifted by a creamy colour scheme, but the stunning infinity pool forward. This pool is one of two onboard, with the second infinity spa pool on the flybridge intended for the owner’s grandchildren. Another family-friendly customisation is the side gates, which restrict access from the side decks to the foredeck.
The plunge pool, which takes centre stage on 48 metre Rossinavi superyacht EIV's foredeck, is one of three pools on board, including a contra-flow swimming pool on the sundeck and a third cooling plunge pool in the beach area. “My vision was to build the ultimate 50-metre yacht by incorporating my experiences visiting the finest spas throughout the world,” the owner says.
The foredeck of the Wider built 50 metre Cecilia is a prime spot for catching rays with its awning and spa pool. The touch-and-go helipad area sits next to it but is more commonly used for sunbathing or as a dance floor, with lights and a DJ set-up built in.
Mimi la Sardine
The deck areas on board the 33.5 metre Cantiere delle Marche explorer Mimi la Sardine have been arranged for maximum functionality and style. Aloft, the sundeck includes a spa pool, sunbathing and bimini-shaded dining area while another large sunbed, ideally positioned to obtain a cooling breeze while at anchor, is found on the foredeck.
The foredeck on the 74.5 metre Abeking & Rasmussen Elandess sits just forward of the yacht's spectacular observational lounge. Populated with relaxed seating, it is a special place where the owner and his family enjoy a regular aperitif. "We particularly enjoyed having pre-dinner drinks on the foredeck seating area, which is out of view of the wheelhouse. It’s rare for yachts to have that capability," he told Boat International .
More about this yacht
O'ptasia.
The foredeck on board the 85 metre Golden Yachts flagship O'Ptasia has been entirely dedicated to the yacht's impressive helipad, which allows guests to make swift entrances and exits in style, a must for a regular charter boat.
The flush fit, teak-clad and stylishly minimalist foredeck of the 54.8 metre CRN superyacht Atlante conceals a teak table and chairs that retract into the floor to become invisible and let the deck serve as a superyacht helipad.
The owners didn’t need a helipad on this 74 metre CRN, so they created a grand entertaining space instead, with a tented area for sun protection — it’s a hot spot for karaoke. Delivered in May 2017, Cloud 9 is the Italian yard’s second largest launch to date behind the 80 metre Chopi Chopi .
Shahid Khan, owner of Fulham FC and the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, made suitably sporty use of the huge foredeck on his Espen Øino -designed 95.2 metre Lürssen superyacht Kismet , which is set up for half-court basketball. It can also be converted into a touch-and-go helipad when needed.
The long, lean, low-slung styling of this 44.8 metre allowed Luca Brenta Design to think outside the box with a spectacular 5.5 metre foredeck spa pool. The debut 2014 launch from Italian yard Logica Yachts , the Logica 147 features accommodation for up to 12 guests and nine crewmembers in an interior styled by Martin Kemp Design .

Yacht Sales FAQ
What are the benefits of a superyacht with a helipad.
Having a helipad on board a superyacht is a highly desirable feature, especially with charter guests seeking an elevated experience at sea. There are several benefits, including convenience, easy access, privacy, and enhanced peace of mind in the event of an emergency.
Fast & private transportation
The primary benefit of a helipad on a yacht is that it allows for fast and private transportation of guests to and from the boat, avoiding lengthy tender rides and allowing guests to explore their surroundings further.
Ideal for extreme sports
A helipad can also be used for extreme sports, such as helicopter water skiing and heli-skiing, ensuring an incredible experience on the water.
Peace of mind
Having a fully certified helipad also provides enhanced peace of mind. Should there be, for example, a medical emergency, you have complete peace of mind that a swift transfer to a land-based medical centre can be quickly arranged.
Maximise a yacht's potential
A mega yacht with a fully certified helipad is highly desirable and will typically attract a higher resale value. Additionally, yachts with helipads are particularly sought-after charter yachts, enabling owners to maximise their boat’s income potential. Finally, a yacht's helipad can also be repurposed, and the large deck space cleared for a variety of activities, such as a dance floor at night and a recreational space during the day.
How big does a yacht have to be to have a helipad?
Generally speaking, a yacht must be at least 40-metres to accommodate a helipad on the bow. Boats under 40-metres generally do not have space to have a helipad on the bow, but clever design means that it may be possible to accommodate a touch-and-go helipad on the stern.
What is a touch-and-go helipad?
A touch-and-go helipad is a type of landing pad for helicopters that allows for quick take-offs and landings without stowing the aircraft on the yacht. It is becoming increasingly common on luxury superyachts and can be a significant bonus for yacht charterers, providing a quick and convenient way to access the vessel. Having a touch-and-go helipad on a yacht can also increase a boat's resale value and charter potential.
Can a yacht have more than one helipad?
Yes, it is possible to have more than one helipad on a yacht, depending on its size and layout. Multiple helicopter decks are often found on the world's largest mega yachts and expedition vessels, allowing for multiple helicopters to be stored at the same time. Having two helipads or more can be especially useful for vessels that accommodate a large number of guests or crew members who may need to travel to different locations at the same time.
What other amenities will a yacht with a helicopter deck have?
As helicopter decks are typically found on larger vessels, you'll also benefit from an enhanced selection of amenities. The world's finest superyachts typically boast voluminous beach clubs, swimming pools, spa facilities, cinema rooms, fully equipped gyms, VIP suites, and spacious salons and deck areas. They also typically boast a garage filled with tenders and a fantastic selection of water toys, including jet skis, water skis, inflatables, diving equipment, kayaks, submarines, and more.

By Oliver Pearson 27 March 2018
Launched this week, the 77m/253ft motor yacht GO is largest yacht built by the Turquoise shipyard and is on schedule for delivery later this year.
From a touch and go helipad to a well-positioned beach club with retracting balconies, there can be no question that superyacht GO marks a landmark moment for both the Turquoise shipyard and Turkey more generally.
Indeed, she joins the league of largest yachts built in Turkey, being 5m larger than the 72m/236ft motor yacht AXIOMA from fellow Turkish yard Dunya, and will be the largest yacht built in Turkey until the 80m/263ft ‘ Bilgin 263 ’ is delivered from Bilgin.
Full of fantastic features, GO is sure to inspire all who see her out on the water, as well as treating her owner to an intimate world of luxury.
Crowning all of the standout features of superyacht GO is a five metre swimming pool situated up on the sundeck.
Surrounded by comfortable furnishings for guests to dry off on, this section of the exterior has been expertly arranged by the award-winning British stylists H2 Yacht Design.
As the below video demonstrates, both the interior and exterior areas of the motor yacht have been completed in a contemporary way that promises to deliver a bright and airy feel.
Making phenomenal use of her volume, superyacht GO boasts a range of stunning social and guest areas
Thoughtfully designed, the touch and go helipad on the bow of superyacht GO is positioned in such a way that the owner can walk directly into their private suite on arrival.
Passing a private spa pool situated just outside of the sleeping area, the owner will find themselves in breathtakingly modern surroundings with 280 degree views across the water.
Also designed by H2 Yacht Design, the interior of superyacht GO is composed of bright white furnishings and fixtures, a colour scheme which is sure to have an enlivening effect on all those stepping on board.
Hugely accessible, guests are able to make use of a centrally located elevator which runs from the lower deck right up to the sundeck, an unusual addition which promises to open up all of the social and guest areas in style.
Adding to her impressive list of remarkable features is a side-loading tender garage which allows guests to effortlessly embark and disembark from the comfort of her ten metre limo tender or the eight metre multi-purpose tender.
What’s more, the intelligent placement of the tender garage means that there has been no compromise in the proportions of her beach club at the aft.
Spanning 162 square metres, the beach club on board Turquoise superyacht GO is sure to form the social hub of any getaway the owner embarks on, with the retractable balconies opening the area up to form the perfect chillout space.
Indeed, with the enormous swim platform stretching off the aft guests will be able to enjoy relaxing and socialising by the waterside in superior comfort.
Whilst M/Y GO will not be joining the charter fleet, be sure to take a look at all of the Turquoise yachts for charter .

Top 10 Of The Most Impressive Superyacht’s Helipads
The world’s superyachts are the most opulent, luxurious and downright impressive machines ever built. And coming high on the list of superyacht design features is a helipad.
Last but not least, It is worth to mention that even thought someone would assume that helipads can only be accommodated by the biggest yachts, the motor yacht Buckpasser was one of the first to be built with a helipad in the 1980s, and at 36.8 meters she is a long way off the largest on the seas.
Please find below the list with most impressive helipads:

The quickest, most convenient type of yacht tender may be worth the compromise on space.
“I don’t worry about money anymore,” the Iowa businessman Roy Carver was quoted as saying in 1975. “I worry about time—how much time do I have left? Everything I do is based on making as much of the day, the week, the month as I can.” Apparently Carver, who was 65 at the time and had made a fortune as the founder and chairman of a business that made tire-retreading material, meant what he said. That same year he took delivery of Lac II, a 148-foot yacht built by Feadship. Carver would not have to waste any time getting on or off the yacht, because it featured a roll-out deck large enough to hold a Bell 206B Jet Ranger. Lac II was the first-ever private yacht with a helicopter landing pad.

Although the precedent for helipads on superyachts was set four decades ago, says Ronno Schouten, it is only in the last 10 to 15 years that they have become popular features. Schouten is head of design for Feadship at De Voogt Naval Architects, the Dutch firm that designed Lac II (which is now known as NOBLA). De Voogt also designed The Highlander, a 162-foot Feadship that was built in 1986 for Malcolm Forbes and included a helipad. Schouten notes that many recently launched and soon-to-be-launched yachts are too large to fit in marina slips and have to be anchored offshore. Some of these yachts’ owners and guests find it tedious to travel to and from port in a tender. “Consequently,” he says, “owners feel the need for a helicopter.”
Given the demand for helicopter transport, says Crispin Baynes, a sales broker for Burgess Yachts, a helipad can be a wise investment: “If you’re building a yacht today above 60 meters [180 feet] and you’re asking, ‘What should I have for potential resale and charter down the line?,’ it’s one of the boxes you should tick. If you have it, that increases the demand and desire for the boat.”
Retrofitting a yacht with a helipad is not always possible—or advisable. “While some yachts can be retrofitted to accept helicopters, not all can,” says Massimo Vilardi, a business-development executive with Camper & Nicholsons’ superyacht helicopter consultancy department. “The deck on which the helicopter lands must have specified structural strength, or load capacity, dependent upon the particular aircraft. Retrofitting a yacht to accept a helicopter is generally expensive and is rarely as desirable as designing the yacht for a specific helicopter in the original specification.”
Of the superyachts that can accommodate a helicopter, some have a touch-and-go pad, including Dragonfly, a 240-footer launched by Australia’s Hanseatic Marine in 2009. Others, such as Naia (formerly Pegaso), a 241-foot expedition yacht built in 2011 by Spain’s Freire shipyard, feature a hydraulic helideck that extends and retracts. Then there are yachts such as Ecstasea, a 282-footer that Feadship built in 2004. It has two helipads, and the forward one descends into the hull to become the floor of an enclosed hangar.
The most common type of helipad is the touch-and-go, which enables a yacht to accommodate takeoffs and landings but not to stow the helicopter on board. While its name suggests convenience and ease of use, a touch-and-go helipad can take up a considerable amount of deck space, and it can carry risk, says Nigel Watson, CEO of the British helicopter operator and aviation-management company Luviair. “You can’t say that touch-and-go is quicker so it can be smaller,” says Watson, who also owns a company in the South of France that, among other services, trains crew members to work on yachts with helipads. “You think it’s for quick use in and out, but touch-and-go is dangerous. When do you think is the most dangerous time operating on a boat? It’s when we touch and when we go.”
He says that because owners of yachts with touch-and-go helipads do not have a helicopter on board, they often overlook the importance of stocking that helipad area with emergency equipment and training the crew how to respond to a fire, a crash, or other emergency. “All of the things that you’d expect at an airport you’re transferring to a yacht,” he says.
Vilardi recommends that if you are going to stow a helicopter on a yacht, you do so in an enclosed hangar that protects it from the elements. “Helicopters are built as light as possible using high-strength alloys that don’t like a salty atmosphere,” he says. “Nowadays, composite plastics are being used more and more for the airframe. But engines, gearboxes, shafts, and control gear are inevitably made from metal. A helicopter has proportionately more safety-critical items than a fixed-wing aircraft, and there are also hydraulics and electronics to consider—they all have to work correctly for the machine to be safe.”
Nevertheless, hangars are rare because they take up space that could otherwise be used for staterooms or other living areas. “Then it becomes a case of an aircraft being stowed on the upper deck,” says Watson, “and the acceptance of an ongoing corrosion problem for the time that the helicopter sits on the deck.”
Watson says he usually has to educate yacht owners about the intricacies of helicopter maintenance and operation and convince them that a helicopter is unlike any other tender. He says that often new superyacht owners equate a helicopter with a motor vehicle and think that it can be operated as easily and with the same amount of preparation. “There’s a common misconception that you just jump in them and you go,” he says. “There’s also a misconception that if you’re a helicopter pilot, you can fly in any circumstance.” He notes that pilots require special training and certification to take off from and land on a yacht.
Owners who envision flying themselves from deck to shore should probably abandon that notion, according to Vilardi. “To learn how to fly a twin-engine helicopter safely on and off a yacht will take years,” he says. “My suggestion is to either retain a helicopter-management company that will provide a competent pilot, necessary maintenance, insurance, licensing, registrations, et cetera, or hire a full-time qualified helicopter pilot experienced in flying and landing in all conditions offshore. Former military pilots frequently have appropriate experience.”
Though there are challenges associated with having a helicopter on board or with just providing helicopter access to a yacht, there are also plenty of perks, such as sightseeing flights or heli-skiing outings. “It’s not easy,” says Baynes, “but it opens up the possibilities for what you can do.”
Best of all, as Lac II’s original owner presumably envisioned, a helicopter or helipad enables owners and guests to fly quickly to their yacht and make the most of the day, week, or month that they have on board. “It’s time and money,” says Baynes. “Most people [who own superyachts] have the money, but they don’t have the time. A helicopter gives them that.”

Turkish shipyard Turquoise Yachts has announced the sale of its largest project to date – an 87 metre custom superyacht named Project Vento.
Set to launch in 2024, the yacht will become the shipyard’s flagship and the largest motor yacht ever built in Turkey.
The 2,500GT design features exterior and interior styling by British studio H2 Yacht Design, which previously collaborated with the shipyard on its current flagship GO. Project Vento’s naval architecture meanwhile has been handled in-house.
Project Vento is characterised by soft lines and angled grilles with the hull finished in a striking ‘Tour de France’ blue.
Highlights of the flagship include a drive-in tender dock, a 6.5 metre pool and a touch-and-go helipad that doubles as a basketball court when not in use. The project’s crowning glory, however, is a large sundeck that houses an informal seating area, outdoor cinema set-up, a bar and fixed sunpads. Guest accommodation is positioned on the main deck while the owner’s suite is situated on a private space above. An open spiral staircase positioned in the centre of the vessel will link all decks together with a skylight bathing the space in natural light.
“This will be my ninth new build with Turquoise and we are still working with the same team of engineers and designers which guarantees a consistent level of excellence and reliability acquired over the many projects we have delivered together,” said H2 founder Jonny Horsfield.
“Working on majestic projects like Vento is always rewarding: the level of planning, commitment and dedication from all parties involved is very special and with that, the grand results are even more fulfilling,” said Patrik Von Sydow, chief executive of Turquoise Yachts.

All dollar amounts in US dollars.
Custom YS 75 Hybrid: Cost unknown
Ushering in a new generation of high-end eco explorers, this expedition vessel from Damen Yachting in the Netherlands boasts a hybrid propulsion system for zero-emission cruising. For the uninitiated, a hybrid propulsion system uses two or more forms of propulsion, such as a biofuel or diesel engine combined with an electric machine.
As buyers become increasingly aware of environmental concerns, naval architects and yachtbuilders are devising green-leaning vessels that don't compromise on style, luxury, or performance. Damen is among the firms leading the way.
Designed by innovative London studio Michael Leach Design and engineered in-house, the 247-foot Custom YS 75 Hybrid has cutting-edge features, including a touch-and-go helipad and a crane for deploying tenders.
It can accommodate 24 crew members and up to 12 guests across six staterooms and boasts plush entertaining areas.
Due to launch early this year, the innovative vessel will also be the first private superyacht equipped with commercial-grade cultivation pods to grow vegetables, further adding to its eco credentials. As for the price tag? Damen is keeping it firmly under wraps...
Blue Marlin and Custom 78: Cost unknown
Admiral Yachts, owned by The Italian Sea Group, is delivering two sensational superyachts this year, according to Boat International : the 256-foot Custom 78 a nd 253-foot Blue Marlin (pictured).
Sleek and elegant, Blue Marlin's exterior and interior are both the handiwork of prestigious Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design.
The superyacht accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms and offers them a wealth of amenities, including a 19-foot swimming pool, a private spa, and a helipad. Its more sustainable credentials include a lower-emission diesel-electric propulsion system.
Precious little is known about Admiral's super-secretive Custom 78 project, as noted by Boat International .
It's known that the superyacht's exterior has been designed by Igor Lobanov, the Barcelona-based Russian nautical designer who's renowned for his futuristic, mega-streamlined creations. (An example of his work is shown here.)
Admiral has yet to disclose the price of either Custom 78 or Blue Marlin .
Project Toro: Cost unknown
Türkiye's Turquoise Yachts is getting ready to sign off the 259-foot Project Toro . It's actually running behind schedule and was supposed to be delivered last year.
With the exterior and interiors designed by British studio Harrison Eidsgaard – which is behind some of the world's most luxurious private jets, in addition to its portfolio of yachts – the end result will undoubtedly be a feast for the eyes.
Project Toro's neoclassical exterior is a real head-turner, while its interiors – which apparently include "a huge Neptune Lounge," to quote Super Yacht Times – have been described by the design team as "the definition of serenity and calm."
The fully customized beauty, which was sold in 2021 for an undisclosed sum, can comfortably fit 14 guests in its seven staterooms, as well as providing space for 21 crew members. Amenities onboard include a beauty salon, gym, and swimming pool.
Al Reem: Cost unknown
Formally known as Silence , Al Reem is getting its finishing touches at the Bilgin shipyard in Türkiye's capital, Istanbul.
Spanning 263 feet, the superyacht showcases Bilgin's signature style – think razor-sharp exterior lines and a super-slender profile – with naval architecture by Turkish studio Unique Yacht Design. It's the third unit of Bilgin's 263 Series and the most advanced of the trio.
Silent by name, silent by nature: the superyacht was sold to a mystery owner in 2022 and the selling price hasn't been revealed. But it won't have come cheap, that's for sure.
Dreamed up by London's H2 Yacht Design, the modern interiors of the boat whisper quiet luxury. The eight suites (including three VIP cabins) can collectively accommodate up to 12 guests, and there's space for 18 crew members. Al Reem's amenities are top-notch too, with the beach club, gym, and movie theater just some of the standout features.
Project Vento: Cost unknown
Just weeks after Project Toro was sold in 2021, Turquoise Yachts found a buyer for Project Vento . As is the case with Project Toro , the identity of the owner and the price tag have not been divulged.
At 285 feet long, Project Vento is the largest superyacht ever built by Turquoise, with the company teaming up with long-time collaborator London's H2 Yacht Design to work on the boat's esthetics. The result? A distinctive two-tone white and blue exterior with soft, flowing lines.
The interiors are just as eye-catching, with the superyacht boasting a wealth of features.
For the billionaire who has everything, there's a helipad that can also be used as an outdoor movie theater and basketball court. But the pièce de résistance has to be the incredible 21-foot glass-sided swimming pool on the lowest deck.
Project 1012: Cost unknown
With the venture cloaked in mystery, Feadship hasn't released any renders of Project 1012 and has yet to disclose information about the team behind it.
Based on images of the vessel undergoing trials in December 2022, Megayacht News has speculated that it could be traditional in design and may feature a beach club. However, these details won't be confirmed until the superyacht is delivered sometime this year – so watch this space...
Project 1012 is another Feadship superyacht that's slated for delivery in 2024.
The shipyard is being particularly secretive about the vessel, with details extremely sketchy. While we know that the superyacht is 300 feet long, further information about the vessel is next to non-existent.
Project JASSJ: Cost unknown
Spanning 338 feet, Project JASSJ is the third-largest of the show-stopping superyachts German shipbuilder Lürssen is delivering in 2024.
Sold in 2021 to an anonymous buyer for an undisclosed price, the superyacht features exterior and interior design by RWD Design. American firm Moran Yacht & Ship is overseeing the build.
Fantastically spacious, Project JASSJ can accommodate 22 guests in 11 staterooms.
Lürssen isn't holding back when it comes to amenities, promising an "industry-leading" beach club, as well as a swimming pool, deck Jacuzzi, top-end gym, and elevator, along with a state-of-the-art helipad and side-opening tender garage.
105 Explorer (NB-729): Cost unknown
Hot on the heels of delivering the 367-foot Renaissance (NB-724) , the largest ever yacht crafted in Spain (and shown here in all its glory), Freire's Galician shipyard is set to complete another whopper: 105 Explorer (NB-729) , which comes in at 344 feet.
Renaissance has been described by Burgess Yachts as a "temple of leisure" and "sanctum of tranquillity." But 105 Explorer (NB-729) is more about adventure than relaxation...
The superyacht may be kitted out with all the classic creature comforts but, as a roving expedition vessel, the emphasis is on performance rather than amenities.
Reflecting other high-end shipbuilders, Freire has chosen to keep the price of the superyacht a secret in the interest of client confidentiality.
Ace 21: Cost $150 million
Ace 21 is one of four show-stopping superyachts that Germany's Lürssen is delivering this year.
Extending over 256 feet end to end, the glamorous vessel spans five decks – the superyachts we've covered so far have just four – and has been designed to provide five-star relaxation in the world's most idyllic locations. It can accommodate up to 14 guests and a crew of 24.
Lürssen, which has taken care of the naval architecture, has reportedly designed the superyacht so it can cruise closer to shorelines and dock alongside paradise-style beaches and coves.
Ace 21 is all about relaxation – and its designated wellness zone, complete with an extensive spa, beach club, and deck Jacuzzi, combine to make it the perfect place to kick back, millionaire style.
SuperYachtFan reports the vessel was ordered by an unnamed individual who's said to be a prominent figure in the yachting world. The site pegs Ace 21 's price tag at $150 million and estimates annual running costs could stretch as high as $15 million.
Project 825: Cost $186 million
On the other hand, the asking price for Feadship's Project 825 has been revealed.
Due for delivery later in the year, the 249-foot superyacht is currently available for $186 million via Burgess Yachts.
Newly-built vessels of this size and caliber are usually custom orders, so it's rare for one to come on the market. The yacht is likely to be snapped up by a member of the super-rich elite who doesn't have the patience to wait years for a bespoke job .
The turnkey superyacht, which is getting its finishing touches at the Feadship Royal Van Lent shipyard in the Netherlands, has a slick two-tone exterior by Feadship's De Voogt Naval Architects. Its chic interiors are courtesy of Parisian design house Gilles & Boissier.
Project 825 has six staterooms with space for 12 guests, who'll have their every whim catered to by 17 crew members. Among its key selling points are an awesome glass-bottomed swimming pool and a private VIP terrace that boasts its own Jacuzzi.
There's also a sauna, deck gym, games room, and touch-and-go helipad, as well as an elevator.
Project 712: Cost $200 million+
Feadship is practically churning out superyachts at the moment, with multiple deliveries scheduled this year. Project 712 is among them.
The 272-foot vessel features an exterior design by Feadship's De Voogt Naval Architects. Unlike the aforementioned Project 825 , however, the interiors are the work of top Dutch firm Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, not French studio Gilles & Boissier.
Because Feadship is selling Project 825 , the price has been revealed – but Project 712 's cost is being kept firmly under wraps. Given its larger dimensions, it's likely to be even more expensive than its sister vessel.
The superyacht has space for up to 10 guests across its five cabins, according to YachtCharterFleet, and comes equipped with a wealth of billionaire-worthy amenities, including a beach club, a gym, and a deck Jacuzzi.
Project 821: Cost $200 million+
The biggest Feadship superyacht launching this year – not to mention the largest the Dutch company has ever built – is Project 821 , which spans 390 feet.
Feadship is being as secretive about this superyacht as it is with Project 1012 , with very few details known about it.
The exterior design is characterized by soft lines, and there's a capacious beach club to the rear of the superyacht that leads down to a swimming platform... And that's all we know.
Both the buyer and the price of Project 821 are being kept hush-hush, though the superyacht is likely to have cost considerably more than the smaller Project 825 , which is on the market for $186 million.
Project Deep Blue: Cost $450 million
The second-biggest of Lürssen's four superyachts expected to launch this year, Project Deep Blue may not be delivered to its owner until 2025, according to several expert forecasts.
Details about the project are scant. Even the final length of the superyacht is uncertain, but it's believed to measure at least 427 feet.
No doubt the owner is delighted with the sophisticated exterior design, which bears similarities to Lürssen's Ahpo (now named Lady Jorgia).
SuperYachtFan reports Project Deep Blue is expected to accommodate 24 guests and a crew of 45. It estimates the vessel would cost a staggering $450 million, with punishing yearly running costs of $45 million. The website has vaguely identified the owner as an Indian or Chinese billionaire.
Project Luminance: Cost $500 million (£392m)
The biggest of Lürssen's four show-stopping superyachts hitting the water in 2024, Project Luminance spans a whopping 475 feet, making it almost as long as three Olympic-sized swimming pools.
The superyacht was originally slated for completion last year, but the delivery date has since been put back. A masterpiece of nautical design, Project Luminance wows thanks to its exterior by Monaco-based Espen Øino and equally elegant interiors by French studio Zuretti Interior Design.
Project Luminance is estimated to accommodate as many as 24 guests across 12 opulent staterooms. Amenities are fantastically lavish, with the vessel reportedly boasting two helipads and a massive swimming pool, which comes complete with an adjacent dip pool.
Reported to cost in excess of $500 million, Project Luminance was commissioned by Rinat Akhmetov, the richest person in Ukraine.
A report in The New York Times in 2022 suggested Akhmetov was considering selling the vessel in light of Russia's invasion of his home country. Still, it appears the billionaire might have decided to keep it for now. And who can blame him?
Somnio: Cost $600 million (£470m)
Putting this year's other launches firmly in the shade, Somnio spans a colossal 728 feet, making it the largest superyacht ever built.
The world's first "yacht-liner," this $600 million floating palace for the mega-rich is billed as "the most exclusive address in the world" and will cruise the planet's iconic yachting destinations, from Monaco to French Polynesia.
Somnio features 39 luxe private residences and a wealth of "six-star" amenities, including an enormous resort-style swimming pool, premium spa, opulent movie theater, gourmet restaurants, 10,000-bottle wine cellar, and a library.
Nearing completion at Norway's Vard shipyard, the six-deck nautical extravaganza is a collaboration between Somnio, Fincantieri, and Vard, while Tillberg Design of Sweden and the UK's Winch Design have looked after the interior design.
The potential occupants of the 39 apartments are being carefully hand-picked. On offer are units with two to four bedrooms, with the option to fully customize them with the likes of a gym, personal kitchen, library, and more.
Those lucky enough to get a Somnio invite can expect to pay from $22 million to secure a cabin in the elite vessel, with service charges likely to be sky-high too.
