Lurssen Yachts For Sale

Interested in the history of a premier yacht builder that takes you a long way back back to 1875? If it’s to be educated on the evolution of the world renowned brand —Lurssen—of course one would. Allow us to introduce you to boatbuilder, Friedrich Lurßen. His wish, at this time, was to work with his father, Luder Lurssen in his shipyard. However, Luder recommended his son open his own yard to ensure a double income. So, Friedrich - just 24 -followed his dad’s suggestion and so in Aumund, Germany, his shipyard was born. Just from his first creation, Friedrich becomes known for his future trademarks: innovative design and superior quality. The shipyard flourishes with a few orders even being placed with his father.

By 1883, Lurssen, who at first was only building racing rowboats for local oarsmen, began taking orders from the rest of the country of Germany. These stunningly designed beauties were also gaining attention for their superb state-of-the-art workmanship and lightweight hull giving them an edge in the speed department allowing for a win in any regatta.

Lurssen decided, in 1886, to construct the world’s first motorboat—REMS—measuring 6 meters. She was commissioned by Gottlieb Daimier, the inventor and engine manufacturer who wanted her to put his new engine through its paces.

By 1904, Lurssen’s yard grows a bit more adding a site with open water access in Bremen-Vegesack.

1905 was the year that Otto Lurßen, Friedrich’s only son, built DONNERWETTER —a highlight achievement for this time. With a 40-hp engine, Donnerwetter, could hit speeds close to 35 knots!

And a few years later, in 1907, the 2nd generation of Lurssen comes into play when Otto becomes a partner in his dad’s firm adding much value. A former shipbuilding engineer, he took the build to an elevated level of craftsmanship with upgraded technical brains, fine tuning past techniques. And so the present day spirit of Lurssen’s distinctive quality and original ethos.

The Lurssen-Daimler speedboat came onto the scene in 1911-1912. Her 102-hp engine was the highlight of the racing season. Set the stage in Monaco, and she wins the Champion of the Sea —the unofficial world championship. She then continues her wins with the Prix de la Côte d’Azur and the Grand Prix des Nations and all in the same year. Then a second speed boat, the Saurer-Lurssen, was the result of Swiss engine manufacturer, Adolf Saurer, joining forces. This time SHE sets an unofficial world record in the Prix de Monte Carlo with a steady speed of 32 knots.

Almost ten years later, we arrive to the year 1925 when two milestones are hit by Lurssen. The first being this thriving company building a 14-meter wooden motor yacht — it’s 10,000th vessel AND celebrating their 50th anniversary!

Oheka II was the highlight of 1927. This speed-demon was equipped with three Maybach engines taking her to top speeds of 34 knots making her the world’s fastest commuter yacht. Later that year, they then build the 36 meter Aar IV, the world’s longest motor yacht.

A sad and bitter year for all, 1932 brought the sudden death of Otto Lurßen, only 52, leaving the company with just the memory of his open-mindedness and love for innovation. Frieda Lürßen, his wife, the determined daughter of a large cruise ship captain, takes the reigns and the shipyard sets sail under her direction.

As the company reaches its third generation in 1938, Gert Lurßen joins Frieda (her son) – bringing along his passion for motorboats passed down from his dad. Adding some excitement, he set a fabulous world speed record in a Lurssen diesel-powered speedboat, reaching a whopping 68.2 km/h.

Business became rough in 1948 in the wake of the war. Scraping the barrels and starting over was the norm during this period —even for Lurssen. The brothers Gert and Fritz-Otto Lürßen agreed to divide the shares of the company, all he’d jointly with their mother Frieda.

As we slide on forward to the year 1962, Frieda Lurßen, who did amazing work for all these years decides to hand over control of the firm to her sons Gert and Fritz-Otto. That very year the 55-meter yacht PEGASUS II is delivered to a London shipowner.

1971 brings us Carinthia VI — designed by Jon Bannenberg making her his first major yacht project. Even up to today, the 71-meter vessel with her ever present contemporary styling, is seen as the precursor of today’s Lurssen yachts.

And all media was a buzz as Lurssen celebrated a century in business as of 1975.

Then the 4th generation was born in 1977. At the age of 27, Friedrich Lürßen hops aboard the company. With a degree in business administration, worked his way through almost all of the departments of the shipyard, he soons assumes a senior position.

1985 was the year they transfer the shipbuilding work to Lemwerder.

Peter Lurßen joined the company in 1987. Peter studied shipbuilding and industrial engineering in Germany and business administration in the United States along with much hands-on experience. Peter had worked for a year as a construction inspector at different Japanese shipyards, and had familiarized himself with various Lurssen departments.

They soon add another location with docks able to accommodate 60 to 110 meters long - on the Kiel Canal near Rendsburg. Yacht refits and conversions can also be handled here.

1988 moves us to a time when Lurssen shipyards were operating at 90 percent capacity with navy contracts. The company then chooses to split production between naval and yacht business leaving them to devote half of its production capacity to constructing large yachts. In the process they then set up a new yachtbuilding division to aid this market.

1997 brought the 97-meter megayacht LIMITLESS, also designed by the well regarded designer Jon Bannenberg.

Acquisi joined the fleet in in 2004 when Lurssen purchases the Neue Jadewerft shipyard in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. She was useful in handling naval vessels as well as maintenance, repair and conversion work on vessels up to 150 meters long!

The Norderwerft shipyard in Hamburg decides to join forces with the Lurssen Group in October 2012. Handling repair and maintenance of commercial shipping vessels as well as ship maintenance for the German Navy, the company scores a great space.

As we reach the time May 2013, Lurssen decides to purchase the Peene Werft shipyard in Wolgast, Germany. The facility builds yachts as well as handles new build and repair services for naval vessels.

Then up next, we have the longest yacht in the world. Lurssen delivered the world’s longest yacht in 2015. Here we introduce you to AZZAM, a 180.65 meters stunner. Setting a record for length and speed -yes she reaches well over 30 knots, she’s also looked up to for her build time —taking less than three years.

And then a year later in 2016, we find the birth of Dilbar, the largest motor yacht ever in terms of gross tonnage. At 156 meters she was built with all the features that wow the crowds with her state-of-the-art technology. She is one of the most intricate and spectacular yachts ever built. The 15,917-ton vessel features luxury entertainment and recreation spaces like one has never seen before. And to think this masterpiece was completed in just 52 months.

When choosing a Lurssen, one will feel most confident of the decision made due to the extraordinary grasp they have of all aspects of boatbuilding that’s been passed down generation to generation which few yacht-builders can declare.

It’s hard to find a better build with more than 13,000 boats and ships built since 1875. And let’s also keep in mind that many of these are still in service after decades too —a brand that speaks for itself.

And for the record, there’s been no other shipyard to deliver as many of the world's top 20 largest yachts as Lurssen.

Ahpo Lürssen superyacht

Ahpo: Behind the build of Lürssen's striking 115m superyacht

A seriously experienced team has built Ahpo , a Caribbean-inspired family superyacht with an eye for perfection, says Cecile Gauert.

"Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail.” This quote, attributed to Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci, should be a maxim in the superyacht world, where, with each new build the bar seems to rise yet again.

Only four or five shipyards globally can get close to this perfection, says Robert Moran, whose company was involved from contract to delivery in the creation of the 115-metre Lürssen Ahpo , the brokerage firm’s 61st new build project.

The details on Ahpo are the story. “We have thousands of materials, different woods, different kinds of GRP, paint, alloy, cable trays – so many cable trays – and also in the interior, so many different kinds of stones, woods, carpets, mother-of-pearl and wallpaper, it’s unbelievable, and I guess not countable,” says Tanja Peters, the project manager for Lürssen, who worked closely with the owners’ team.

Ahpo reunited owner Michael Lee-Chin, design firm Nuvolari Lenard , the Lürssen shipyard and Moran Yacht & Ship , the same team that had worked on the creation of the 86-metre Quattroelle , delivered in 2013. Moran had previously sold the Jamaican-born Canadian businessman and philanthropist the 58.5-metre Capri in 2003, which he kept for five years before embarking on the construction of Quattroelle . The owner loved it but received an offer he could not refuse shortly after taking delivery, giving him a bit of time to think about the next step.

This new build is a big step forward in terms of size (she is 5,257 gross tonnes compared to Quattroelle ’s 2,925) and complexity. “The boat is magnificent inside and outside because it is not just an improvement on Quattroelle , but it is an entirely different world inside and outside,” says interior designer Valentina Zannier of Nuvolari Lenard. “When you step up from an 86 to 115, it may sound like 29 metres is not that much, but on a boat, it is huge.”

While conventionally powered, the yacht boasts advanced systems, such as super-efficient HUG after-treatment filters complementing the now mandatory SCR system, a dynamic positioning system, controllable-pitch propellers for precise manoeuvring at low speed and four massive Quantum fins, among others. In addition, its heat-recovery system is an efficient way of redirecting heat generated by the engines and generators’ normal operation to warm the swimming pool, spa pool and other water systems. It works exceptionally well and saves thousands of kilowatts, according to one of Ahpo ’s engineers. Finally, optimal noise insulation yields impressive library-quiet sound levels in the guest areas.

“Our new construction team, led by Sean Moran, spent a lot of time writing the specifications for the insulation. Fortunately, working with Lürssen, their background is military, so they are ahead of the game,” Robert Moran says. “The decibel levels of this yacht are incredible.” At anchor, they range from a little over 31dBA in the owners’ suite to just 40dBA in the main saloon.

The yacht’s two custom 12-metre IC Yacht guest tenders, plus rescue tenders and a suite of water toys are hidden in a forward garage to save the transom area for an exceptional beach club/spa that leaves guests wanting for nothing. “It’s the most amazing spa I’ve ever seen on a yacht,” Moran says.

And, because there is no coming back from the views it offers, glass is an ever-present feature on Ahpo as well. Glass surfaces include massive doors wrapping around an aft deck winter garden where the captain says the owners spend most of their time on board.

“You literally walk in a garden that is enjoyable outside but is also covered, so you can have a formal lunch or dinner there. It is an outstanding feature that you don’t see often,” says Zannier, who worked closely with the couple to develop an interior vision that they readily embraced.  She felt at ease with them, which gave her the freedom to unleash her creativity.

“When you already know a family, you don’t really need a brief because there is already an empathy there,” she says. “Madame is a delicious person, very feminine, so you won’t see anything straight and sharp.”

A large team is on board when I catch up with Ahpo in May, although it’s not apparent as they are scattered through the yacht’s six large decks, but Captain Nathan Mischewski is keeping a  log and an eye on the tight schedule. The goal is to bring Ahpo to tip-top shape to meet with the owners at the Monaco Grand Prix, and there are a few opened panels and sections of covered flooring. A perfectionist himself, he occasionally shakes his head as he walks me through the new yacht at the MB92 shipyard in Barcelona. “It’s a shame you can’t come when it’s all set up because it has a different vibe,” he says.

To my eye, Ahpo seems very close to perfect, from superlative guest areas to sizeable crew spaces and a gleaming engine room visible from a glass corridor leading from the beach club to the guest lobby and lift. It is no exaggeration to say you could eat off the floor in the two-level engine space. “We are always chasing perfection. This attitude permeates our entire process, from luxury areas all the way through to the engine room,” Moran says.

Project manager and engineer Robert Miller even named the two MTU 20V 4000 engines (as he previously did on Quattroelle ). I look at “Federica” closely; despite two transatlantic crossings and several months of active duty, the engine looks brand new.

There is a personal touch on board, a good vibe, you’d say. In the crew area, an informal picture collage celebrates a few special occasions on board with the entire crew and several with “the boss”, tall, fit and a bright smile on his face.

While he values his privacy, which influenced the layout, the owner is “a vastly experienced yachtsman”, according to Carlo Nuvolari, who understands that keeping the crew happy is vital to everyone’s well-being on board. Up to 53 people can share space on Ahpo , including the pilots of two helicopters. The yacht has a crew gym and a comfortable lounge that’s separate from the spacious crew mess, which could accommodate everyone in one seating.

The team of Nuvolari Lenard – with Zannier as the creative mind behind the nature-inspired, exquisitely intricate interior created with the owners – designed the yacht built under the project name Enzo. This code name was a nod to one of Lee-Chin’s passions – Ferraris.

The owner signed the contract in 2017 with one stipulation, Moran says: the yacht had to be ready for his mother’s 89th birthday on December 15, 2021. When Covid-19 hit, the shipyard had to adjust the schedule to reduce the amount  of crew working on the boat all at once, but work never stopped. In late 2021, Ahpo left Rendsburg, Germany, for the owner’s native Jamaica and got there on December 13 in time for the planned celebration.

A lot of Ahpo , a term of endearment meaning grandmother, is about family. Although she will charter on occasion – for 2.5 million euros a week plus expenses – Ahpo was designed for family use. The family’s strong bonds are poetically represented, for example, in the chain-link motif that decorates the stairs linking the two levels of the owners’ apartment. Two identical bedrooms with different colour schemes for twin girls are close to their parents’ bedroom oasis, a supremely comfortable space in a blend of gelato colours with two private terraces and two spectacular bathrooms with handmade metal bathtubs from Catchpole & Rye, mosaics inspired by the work of Gustav Klimt and crystal chandeliers by Lasvit in the style of Baccarat. For senior members of the family, the designer created a spacious and ultra-restful lower deck cabin.

Another big part of the yacht is fitness and wellness. The owners’ private duplex includes a gym that puts to shame most luxury hotel gyms, with furniture in red lacquer, attractive synthetic flooring, TVs hidden behind mirrors, equipment by Technogym and bikes by Peloton, plus custom-made dumb-bells provided by Gym Marine. All of it is personalised for Ahpo with the Nuvolari Lenard-designed logos. Aside from input from Gym Marine, Moran says the owners had considerable say into the design as they are very active and live a healthy lifestyle. The side decks on the sky lounge deck are exceptionally wide, like a proper promenade on a cruise ship, and  100 metres all around, allowing the owners to take walks in the fresh air without returning to shore.

The owner enjoys looking up at one of the yacht’s defining features, a great mast. “That mast is huge; you can put the whole crew inside. It’s three levels, and there’s so much storage up there,” the captain says, providing a sense of scale to the yacht’s crowning feature.

About all that the owner said in terms of guidance for the exterior design was, as Nuvolari recounts, “‘You know me, you know what I like, make it more beautiful [than Quattroelle ].’ He also asked if we could make one feature that ties the two designs, and those are the semi-circular windows.” However, these are so distinctive that when the first photos appeared, it was an immediate tip-off to the small but enthusiastic group of people following the yacht industry that it had to be the “new Quattroelle ”.

So, when they created the exterior for Ahpo , the Nuvolari Lenard team, including designer Simone Feltrin, strived to make an elegant ship – because a yacht of 100 metres or more, Carlo Nuvolari says, is a ship. “Nowadays in yachting we see many extravagant things looking to architectural buildings  for inspiration.” However, he and his business partner, Dan Lenard, disagree with this trend. “A boat is a boat, a yacht is a yacht,” Nuvolari says. For the yacht’s finishing top hat, they studied the funnels of vessels of the 1950s and 1960s.

Another characteristic feature is the bow, which is quite defined with the yacht’s logo at the tip but is just long enough to give the yacht the right proportions. “Long flowing lines are a signature of our designs,” says Nuvolari, who adds that the bow is just part of the whole. “We never look at one single item, but we look at overall proportions. After a few proposals, we found that this offered the right balance, and it goes well with the concept of a serious ship.” It’s truly amazing to consider that the yacht appears lean and graceful with deck heights of 2.4 metres and 2.7 metres in some places and six decks stacked one on top of the other. No mean feat.

A contrast of black and white paint emphasises the swooping wraparound decks and creates a visual cascade from the top to the forward fully certified helipad (one of two on board), with a similar feature aft. This signature helps make Ahpo recognisable from anywhere.

On the inside, “the main theme of the boat is nature,” says Zannier, who incorporated plants beyond the winter garden. Most are excellent fakes because plants don’t do so well in salty air, but no matter, it works beautifully.

In the spa, created by interior outfitter List, the theme of nature is ever-present. “It is all about curves, leaves and waves, and the main feature of this area, including the massage room and the beauty salon, is bamboo,” Zannier says. The bamboo (fake leaves on natural stems) is encapsulated between two glass panes, and it is backlit, creating a beautiful backdrop for a bar and the massage room. “It is very relaxing and very Zen,” she says accurately. In the hair salon, the bamboo was hand-painted on wallpaper by the artists of the fine wallpaper and ceramics company de Gournay. On the spa’s ceiling, huge leaves made of walnut are lit with a border of LED lighting. “There are no spotlights in the leaves themselves because we prefer not to use them extensively, so we always try to find alternative light sources,” the designer says.  Teak stripes undulating behind a plunge pool guide the water that falls with a quiet gurgling sound. The wellness space also includes a Turkish-style hammam with vibrant mosaics by Sicis and a fountain in ivory onyx and mosaics. Fibre optics in the ceiling create myriad little stars. Azul macaubas and sodalite are two of the stones found here and repeated throughout the yacht, including on the mullions. The curvaceous sauna has Himalayan salt bricks inserted into its walls.

Another delectable space is the 12-seat cinema. Sicis created three portraits of the owners’ favourite actors and artists – Dorothy Dandridge, Sidney Poitier and Sammy Davis Jr – from photos they selected, in black and white fabric mosaics that add a touch of vintage Hollywood to the elegant space with a starlit ceiling.

The decor incorporates numerous personal references. For instance, the desk in the boardroom – unconventionally positioned aft on the main deck – is an oval table with a top done by Based Upon that incorporates an old map of Jamaica engraved in bronze among blue resin. On the walls, more mosaics represent Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountains.

Elsewhere, birds – cranes and flamingos – and feathers take flight. One of many stunning pieces on board, and one that the Lürssen project manager singled out as one of the great achievements in the interior is the spiral staircase. Vedder made the complex balustrade that represents an olive tree growing over several decks, piece by piece. On the wall is a bas-relief that runs over five decks, each with its own colour theme. The staircase wraps around an elliptical sculpture whose central column supports delicate feathers handmade of crystal that appear to fall to the floor. The steps themselves incorporate backlit calacatta marble, leather and Tai Ping silk carpeting.

There is much more to this beautiful yacht, including the grand dining room with a spectacular custom table made by List. Its glass top was created by DKT Artworks using the French technique of verre églomisé with a theme of water lilies, which is repeated in the chandelier and on the doors.

The design book is as thick as a phone book and, incredibly, the finished product is very close to the original renderings. For the owners, the result was love at first sight, and they spent 65 days on board after delivery. Such level of details, and perfect combination of technology and craftsmanship – nay, art – can only be seen in the superyacht world these days.

“Anybody can build a plane, anybody can build a house, but a yacht of such detail and such quality, I think is the pinnacle of achievement,” Moran says. And as the story goes, details make perfection.

About lurssen yachts.

One of the world’s most legendary custom-yacht builders, Lurssen has been pushing the boundaries of what is possible ever since the company was founded in Bremen, Germany back in 1875. Still owned by the same family today, Lurssen builds all their vessels from self-owned shipyards in Germany. Lurssen has produced some of the most prized and famous yachts ever built, from the world’s first speedboats in the nineteenth century to the construction of the world’s 10 largest megayachts in recent history. Lurssen’s colossal reputation is well-deserved.

More About Lurssen Yachts

The Lurssen family had already been building boats for some time when 24-year-old Friedrich Lurssen established his shipyard in 1875. Located in Aumund, Germany close to the thriving Hanseatic port city of Bremen, Friedrich’s factory initially began making small, wooden hulled boats for the local fishing and ferry industry. It was in 1886, however, that Friedrich made the decision that would change the Lurssen family fortunes forever. He decided to build sport boats, partnering with Gottlieb Daimler to fit one of the world-famous inventor’s new engines to a boat of his own design. This boat, the REMS, became the first motorboat in history and utterly revolutionized the naval industry. By 1905, Lurssen was building the fastest speedboats on the planet, including the 34-knot Donnerwetter, while in 1911 the firm launched vessels that swept to victory at the Monte Carlo Grand Prix.

Due to the firm’s staggering early success it took Lurssen only 50 years to launch 10,000 vessels from its yards in northern Germany. Ownership changed with the passing of Fredrich, with son Otto, daughter-in-law Frieda, and grandchildren Gert and Fritz-Otto all taking turns to manage the company. It was in the post-war era that Lurssen started making waves in the luxury yacht market, with a 180-foot superyacht, enormous for its time, launching as early as 1962. The firm was firmly established as the world’s seminal provider of superyachts in 1971 when the company teamed up with cutting-edge naval designer Jon Bannenberg to build the 233-foot-long Carinthia VI, one of the most iconic vessels ever launched. The boat hit new heights in terms of amenity and luxury, with a classic and graceful design that is still emulated by builders to this day.

In the 1980s, with the firm’s order books close to bursting, Lurssen decided to split their divisions into separate companies. One half continued to build for the world’s navies and commercial operators, while the other concentrated on the development of private yachts. It is around this time that Peter Lurssen, the fourth generation of the family to work at the firm and current CEO, joined the company. Three huge new shipyards in northern Germany were acquired to enable the firm to build even bigger yachts, an ambition realized in amazing fashion with the launch of the 318-foot long megayacht, Limitless, in 1997. And Lurssen has not stopped there. Year on year the company keeps breaking records and setting a pace for flair and innovation that leaves other yacht yards struggling to keep up. 2015 saw the delivery of the world’s longest yacht, the Azzam, to the Emir of Abu Dhabi. This was followed just one year later by the launch of the world’s largest yacht by gross tonnage, the Dilbar.

Lurssen Yachts has built 12 of the world’s 20 largest yachts, crafted by the firm’s 1635 employees across 8 different shipyards in Germany. The company looks set to continue dominating the high-end yacht market in the future, with the bold 2018 acquisition of rival shipyard Blohm+Voss, a move that is sure to catapult the firm to even greater heights. Nor has Lurssen ever compromised its core beliefs in the quality of innovation and finish that have always marked their boats out as special. To this day the company is 100% family-owned and operated, while recent shifts towards sustainability, including a major partnership with the Blue Marine Foundation, have established the firm as one of the greenest yacht builders around.

The Rising Sun

Designed by Jon Bannenberg, launched in 2004 and over 452 feet long, the Rising Sun is one of the most exceptional yachts ever built. Delivered to American tech magnate Larry Ellison and now owned by music and media mogul David Geffen, the yacht immediately made headlines for its lavish on-board amenities. Large enough for a gym, a basketball court, wine cellar, movie theater and more, the yacht boasts an incredible 82 rooms. Despite the size, the yacht zips along the water at a quick 29 knots thanks to four MTU diesel engines, while a steel hull provides next-level durability and safety. Across the years the Rising Sun has hosted many luminaries from across the world of entertainment, such as Sir Paul McCartney, Steven Spielberg, and Oprah Winfrey.

Built for American philanthropist Jody Allen in 2003, the Octopus is one of Lurssen’s most stylish and well-equipped yachts, and a testament to the firm’s German engineering prowess. 414 feet in length, the Octopus boasts space for two helipads, a luxury spa, library, basketball court as well as several bars, dining rooms and salons. The boat has unparalleled garage space for plenty of tenders, jet skis and even a submarine and remotely operated underwater vessel. It is perhaps due to the facilities on board the Octopus that the yacht has been used for research trips to Antarctica, rescue missions for the British Navy and reconnaissance projects for Google Earth to the depths of the Pacific. Interior designs, meanwhile, were completed by Jonathan Quinn Barnett, to an incredibly sumptuous standard. The yacht was put back on the market in 2019, and is sure to be eyed up by the world’s richest yacht owners.

The longest yacht in the world, the 590-foot Azzam was launched in 2013 for the Emir of Abu Dhabi, and is just as regal as its owner. The yacht’s sleek and timeless white design stands out like a faceted gemstone on the high seas, while lavish interiors courtesy of Christophe Leone are bold and minimalist in tone. With more than 50 suites, a 95-foot-long main salon and 6 rear sundecks this yacht offers the sort of space that would more commonly be associated with cruise ships, yet with the attention to detail and luxury that are hallmarks of Lurssen. The yacht can reach a top speed of almost 32 knots, a phenomenal achievement for a vessel of its size, thanks to twin diesel engines and two gas turbines that collectively produce some 47,000 horsepower.

Carinthia VII

Inspired by Lurssen’s groundbreaking Carinthia VI, launched in 1971, this yacht from 2002 caught the eye with its timeless, classic design and bold, navy blue hull. Almost 320 feet long, the yacht is owned by Austrian billionaire Heidi Horten and can often be seen traversing the Greek Islands, at anchor in the Venetian Lagoon, or gliding along the coast of the Cote D’Azur.

For four generations and since 1875, German shipyard Lürssen has been cultivating the most refined skills and advanced technologies to create truly outstanding vessels. When the company founder Friedrich Lürssen said, 'Leading in quality and performance, that should be my company’s reputation,' he was expressing the values the shipbuilding family of Lürssen upholds to this day.

From then to now, around 13,000 vessels have left Lürssen's docks, each one a true original and a magnificent specimen of its type. These include the world's first boat propelled by an internal combustion engine (1.5hp), launched in 1886, and the world's largest motor yacht at 180m, powered by 94,000hp.

The yachts developed by Lürssen hand in hand with clients, the world’s finest yacht designers and technical advisors span the full spectrum – graceful, bold, poetic, imposing, classic, innovative. Yet as diverse as these individual projects are, they all share one quality: they are shaped by the Lürssen family’s deep knowledge of - and commitment to - custom yacht building.

By Katie Scott   14 December 2023

Lurssen has officially launched the striking 142m (465.8ft) superyacht Project Ali Baba ahead of her outfitting at the Hamburg facilities, and anticipated 2024 delivery.

Moved from her previous shed at the shipyard's facility in Bremen, which is now undergoing maintenance due to technical issues with the dock gate, the captivating motor yacht continues to shine a light on the globally renowned shipbuilder this week after yesterday's launch of 102m (335.11ft) superyacht JASSJ at the Rendsburg facility.

Overview of Lurssen superyacht Ali Baba

Previously seen in May 2022 in two halves before her hull was joined together, Project Ali Baba showcases stunning elongated lines, plus four exterior decks and a spacious beach club for waterside entertainment. Two helipads are situated on the fore and aft deck, offering ample opportunities for guests to make the most of the Mediterranean and many other popular yacht charter destinations .

Offering a 12-cabin layout for up to 24 guests, Project Ali Baba looks to feature an elevator connecting all decks, air conditioning, and fold-down balconies.

At this time it is unknown whether Project Ali Baba will be joining the global yacht charter fleet , however, if you're interested in chartering a yacht of a similar caliber, take a look at all the available Lurssen yachts for charter .

one piece treasure cruise damage calculator

Optc damage calculator online.

Within the dynamic world of gaming, understanding mechanics often becomes paramount to success. Gamers are constantly seeking tools and insights to optimize their strategies. A pivotal tool for the One Piece Treasure Cruise (OPTC) enthusiasts is the OPTC damage calculator. This calculator streamlines complex computations, allowing players to make effective decisions swiftly.

The OPTC Damage Calculator is a dedicated computational tool, tailored for the One Piece Treasure Cruise game. It facilitates players by simplifying intricate damage calculations to derive the most effective combat techniques. At its core, the calculator uses a sophisticated yet straightforward formula to provide accurate damage results.

Detailed Explanations of the Calculator's Working

Employing the OPTC Damage Calculator involves inputting specific game variables. Based on these variables, the tool computes the total damage a character can deal, taking into account various multipliers and bonuses. The objective is to maximize combat efficiency, making it crucial for competitive players aiming for the pinnacle of OPTC rankings.

Formula with Variables Description

The formula employed is:

mathematicaCopy code

Total Damage = (Character Base Attack * Type/Class Modifier * Combo Bonus * Chain Multiplier) + Additional Bonuses

  • Character Base Attack : The foundational damage a character can inflict.
  • Type/Class Modifier : A multiplier determined by the character's type and class.
  • Combo Bonus : The bonus received based on specific combo moves made.
  • Chain Multiplier : An incremental multiplier, elevating with chain combos.
  • Additional Bonuses : Additional damage boosters or incentives earned in the game.

Let's consider a character with the following attributes:

  • Character Base Attack: 1000
  • Type/Class Modifier: 1.5
  • Combo Bonus: 1.2
  • Chain Multiplier: 1.8
  • Additional Bonuses: 200

Total Damage = (1000 * 1.5 * 1.2 * 1.8) + 200 = 3240 + 200 = 3440 damage points.

Applications

The implications of the OPTC Damage Calculator span across several facets of the game:

Strategic Planning

By understanding potential damage outputs, players can pre-plan their moves and combinations to counter opponents effectively.

Team Formation

Given the diverse character roster in OPTC, the calculator aids in assembling the most potent team, ensuring higher win rates.

Resource Allocation

With insights into potential damage, players can allocate their resources, like potions or boosts, more effectively.

Most Common FAQs

The calculator, designed with the game's core mechanics in mind, is highly accurate. However, always ensure you're using the latest version to account for game updates.

While the calculator works swiftly, its best application is in strategic planning between game sessions.

In the expansive universe of One Piece Treasure Cruise, understanding the nuances of damage can be the difference between victory and defeat. The OPTC Damage Calculator emerges as an indispensable ally, offering players clarity, precision, and a competitive edge. As the gaming realm continues to evolve, such tools accentuate the importance of strategy, merging skill with knowledge for unparalleled gameplay experiences.

Friedrich Lürßen founds the company

After training as a boatbuilder, Friedrich Lürßen wants to join the boatyard of his father, Lüder Lürssen. Lüder advises his son to start a yard of his own – a single company would be insufficient to support two families. On June 27, 24-year-old Friedrich sets up a boatbuilding workshop in Aumund, near Bremen, Germany. His first vessel demonstrates his trademarks: originality and high quality. Friedrich Lürßen’s shipyard grows and thrives, and at one point he even begins placing orders with his father.

Reputation in racing rowboats

Lürssen initially only builds racing rowboats for Bremen oarsmen, but orders are increasingly coming in from all over Germany. The word spreads that Lürssen boats are not only beautifully designed, but also outstanding in precise workmanship and quality – and thanks to their lightweight construction, they are very fast and place well in regattas.

World’s first motorboat – a Lürssen

Lürssen builds the world’s first motorboat. The 6-meter REMS is commissioned by the inventor and engine manufacturer Gottlieb Daimler, who needs a boat to put his new engine through its paces. Friedrich Lürßen, always open to new ideas, designs and builds it without delay. The Daimler engine that powers it has a displacement of 0.462 litres, weighs 60 kilograms, and has an output 1.5 hp at 700 rpm.

Lürssen expands to the shoreline

The Lürssen yard is expanding and now includes a site in Bremen-Vegesack. For the first time the shipyard now has direct access to the open water.

DONNERWETTER – remarkably fast

With a slimline forecastle and low water and air resistance, the successful racing speedboat DONNERWETTER, developed by Otto Lürßen, reaches a speed of nearly 35 knots with a 40-hp engine. This is a remarkable achievement for the time.

Otto Lürßen becomes a partner

Friedrich Lürßen’s only son Otto joins the firm as a partner, contributing far-reaching practical and theoretical knowledge. As a shipbuilding engineer he combines tried and trusted craftsmanship with new technical expertise, improving on past methods. This approach, handed down over the decades, remains to this day the essence of Lürssen’s unique quality and innovative spirit.

Lürssen-Daimler world champion

The LÜRSSEN-DAIMLER with a 102-hp engine is the sensation of the racing season. In the Mediterranean near Monaco, she wins the unofficial world championship, the Champion of the Sea. The speedboat goes on to win the Prix de la Côte d’Azur and the Grand Prix des Nations later in the same year. A further speedboat, the SAURER-LÜRSSEN, a joint project with Swiss engine manufacturer Adolf Saurer, sets another unofficial world record in the Prix de Monte Carlo with an average speed of 32 knots.

Frieda Lürßen takes charge

The abrupt death of 52-year-old Otto Lürßen, who directed the company in a spirit of open-mindedness and passion for innovation, is a bitter loss for the shipyard and the entire industry. His wife, Frieda Lürßen, the strong-willed daughter of a captain of a large cruise ship, fills the gap and takes over at the helm of the Lürssen yard.

New beginning: Gert and Fritz-Otto Lürßen

Business is difficult in the wake of the war. Everyone has to start from scratch and the Lürssen shipyard is no exception. During this time of change, the brothers Gert and Fritz-Otto Lürßen agree on the division of shares in company, which they hold from then on jointly with their mother Frieda Lürßen.

Frieda Lürßen, who has led the company with greater perseverance and technical expertise, hands over responsibility for the firm to her sons Gert and Fritz-Otto. That same year the 55-meter yacht PEGASUS II is delivered, like her predecessor, to a London shipowner.

CARINTHIA VI redefines yacht design

Her exterior design sets new worldwide standards: the yacht CARINTHIA VI is designed by Jon Bannenberg – his first major yacht project. To this day, the 71-meter vessel remains contemporary in styling, and she can be seen as the precursor of today’s Lürssen yachts.

After studying shipbuilding and industrial engineering in Germany and business administration in the United States as well as gathering considerable professional experience, Peter Lürßen comes on board. Coordinates of elektrostal in degrees and decimal minutes, utm coordinates of elektrostal, geographic coordinate systems.

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.

Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).

Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
