We offer private 90-minute, two-hour, three-hour, half and full-day sailing charters. Eric and his boat were outstanding! This was a highlight of our Newport vacation. My family (wife, daughters in their 20s) went sailing for 3-4 hours. Eric pointed out lots of famous sites and told us the history of Newport harbor. He let my daughter sail most of time (she's an experienced sailor). I highly recommend Eric!

Captain Candace, Captain Don and Stephanie were an absolute delight to work with from start to finish. Capt. Candace was very easy to communicate with and worked to accommodate our age diverse group. Great directions and instructions as to how to find the boat, the boat was in pristine condition and VERY comfortable accommodations for our sail. Captain Don and Stephanie were very clear about safety first at all times, very knowledgable sailers and wonderful tour guides and historians when the wind was not working with us. We could not have asked for anything more - the boat and the crew are top notch. We hope to have the opportunity to sail with Candace and crew again. Our sailing experience was the highlight of our trip to Newport.

Six of us took a lovely sail with Dave as our captain. We sailed out to listen to some of the Newport Jazz Festival and then took a turn around the area. We had so much fun, and Dave was great! He's friendly and knowledgeable about points of interest in the area. We will definitely sail with him on the Hurrah again. Thanks Dave!

David was the best!!! His boat is beautiful, he had so much knowledge and was so great to talk to, he gave us an unforgettable experience! Starlight | 34′ O’Day

Sailing with just two to six guests, sailing on Starlight is like sailing on your own private yacht.  She is the perfect boat for sailing with friends, family and special occasions.  She has been the setting for countless engagement proposals.

Starlight is a clean and well equipped O’Day 34.  She is 34 feet, comfortable and fun to sail. Her comfortable cockpit, custom stern perch seats, ample deck space and cozy cabin make her the perfect size and design for day sailing around Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay.  There is a cooler for drinks and snacks, stereo with iPod interface and blankets and jackets for cool evenings.

Pack a small picnic and come enjoy the spectacular setting as you sail through Newport Harbor, into Narragansett Bay and along the shoreline of Newport’s Ocean Drive.  Sail past beautiful seaside estates, lighthouses, historic landmarks and world famous yachts.

Duck into Brenton or Mackerel Cove for even more stunning sightseeing of yachts and seaside estates. Starlight sails the longest and furthest of any of our boats. Your friendly, knowledgeable captain will provide you with light, informative commentary.

Take the wheel and experience the thrill of sailing, receive casual instruction, or sit back, relax and take in the scenery on your charter boat rental.  Newport is home to one of the prettiest harbors in the country and is the sailing capital of the world!

Special Considerations:

Note: Due to safety considerations, no children under 6 are allowed.  Boarding and disembarking Starlight is done by taking 2-3 steps up and down a sturdy ladder, permanently attached to a seawall.  Guests need to be able to lift their leg about 16-20″ over the boat’s lifelines and hold on to the ladder to get on and off the boat. You may see the boarding ladder in Starlight’s Photos section below.

If you have balance or mobility issues, we recommend you consider a sail on Aquidneck instead.  Aquidneck is our most stable vessel and is easily boarded by a set of stairs with a handrail.

Should Starlight be sold out, consider a private charter on Sightsailer.  Sightsailer is larger and can sail with up to 13 guests, however, we do many charters on her with just 2-6 guests.  More info on Sightsailer can be found on the Sightsailer page.

Get the best view in town for the U.S. Navy's Salute to Summer Fireworks show from the deck of Schooner Aquidneck!  This will be strictly a motor cruise (no sailing) so we can get into a good position to view the show.  This is the best and last show of the season!   We will be offering complimentary champagne, beer, soda, and water. Salut!
