LIFE OF RILEY

For the Delta Refit & Repair team, one project is nothing short of extraordinary: the transformation of a 127-foot full-displacement composite motor yacht built in 1989 into the 132-foot LIFE OF RILEY. Major changes included the addition of a radiant sky lounge on the upper deck, an extended stern incorporating a fishing cockpit, and an open aft deck with direct access to the sea and tenders. There were many improvements, replacements, and upgrades to all engineering systems.

Delta used a perfectly mated mold for the stern extension to create a seamless finished appearance. Subtle modifications to the sheer and camber of the aft superstructure and main guard harmoniously integrated the new transom into the original hull. The upper-level modifications combined bold strokes and technical finesse, expanding the area aft of the pilothouse to include the spacious sky lounge and a full flybridge deck area.

The interior was completely replaced—and re-energized. The owner’s stateroom became full-beam with a large head with a full-sized tub and marble counters. Across the lobby is a pair of comfortable twin-bedded guest cabins with green leather buttoned upholstery and en suite shower rooms. The style is elegant and traditional with antique furniture, beautiful paintings, and straight-grained Honduras mahogany with a matte finish that gives a very warm, natural feel to all the rooms. Forward on the main deck is a gracious library with brass-railed shelves and cabinets below. Glazed doors divided into many small beveled panes reinforce the richly traditional atmosphere.

The results of this incredible makeover included a significant improvement in efficiency and performance. Extending the waterline increased cruising speed and reduced fuel consumption. Adding the bulbous bow helped improve total efficiency nearly 10 percent. In addition to reducing running resistance, the bulb damps down pitching considerably; it also doubles as a ballast tank used to adjust the yacht’s fore-and-aft trim.

From the outside, the most noticeable feature of this refit: the whole yacht was re-faired and painted a beautiful, traditional dark green. But of course it’s just the outer surface of an incredibly extensive and detailed refit that effectively turned LIFE OF RILEY into a completely different yacht with an entirely changed character. She became more than “good as new”—according to her owners, she was better than ever before, and better than they could have imagined.

Motor yacht CHILD'S PLAY (ex LOOSE ENDS, LIFE OF REILLEY, TOP TIMES) is a Burger 34.47 meter (113.1 Foot) luxury motor yacht which styled along the lines of an expedition/discovery yacht. Her full-displacement hull is ideal for comfortable passages and economical fuel consumption. The yacht’s expansive interior feels more like that of a 120 yacht, with a dramatic three-story staircase and exceptionally wide 25' beam. She was launched by the Burger in 2003, refitted in 2019 and offers deluxe accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 cabins, with further accommodation for a crew of 6.

She has formal dining for eight or casual alfresco on the aft deck. CHILD'S PLAY provides numerous outdoor socializing areas with exquisite views from the flybridge and hot tub. Plenty of toys and sophisticated entertainments system will keep everyone happy. This yacht has excellent sea keeping abilities underway, and at anchor, the Zero-Speed Stabilization feature is a remarkable comfort enhancement.

This was Burger’s first foray into the expedition/discovery yacht world as a full-displacement hull with a round bilge that is ideally suited for yachts intending to make long passages with low power consumption. This yacht has excellent sea keeping abilities whether underway or using the computer-controlled Zero-Speed Stabilization feature while at anchor or fishing.

Amenities will include a dramatic three-story staircase, a sun deck with hot tub and helm station; a large family room/sky lounge; a gourmet, commercial galley; a full-beam main deck level master suite; four very large en suite guest staterooms below and crews’ quarters for five including an aft engineer’s suite.

CHILD'S PLAY is a beautifully crafted and spectacular motor yacht which is Burger's first expedition yacht and the first full displacement hull in the company's modern-day history. She boasts a classic, yet contemporary interior to complement her bold expedition, luxury yacht exterior.

Here Burger Yachts have designed a round bilge, full displacement hull that is suited for long passages, as she boasts low fuel consumption, or short hopes in comfortable luxury. Due to a computer-controlled, Zero-Speed Stabilization system, the hull offers exceptional stability in heavy seas or at anchor.

The yacht provides a superb balance of function, style and class. She is beautifully balanced and there is simply is no bad angle from which to view this yacht.

The Aft Deck is fully covered and offers a built-in dining table with seating along with a wet-bar with fastened stools. The aft deck is the most popular entertainment area on any boat and Top Times provides more than ample room for friends. The Portuguese Walk forward of the bridge incorporates dual settees for open-air bow banter and a good vantage point to keep watch over cold-chunks gone astray.

LOOSE ENDS' sky-Deck includes a sun deck with wrap around seating. The aft-mounted hot tub Spa Pool integrates everything from head-rests to drink holders. In the off-season, these tubs can double as a good storage compartment too.

The Foyer in the sky lounge is out of this world with its simulation of stars and space with a SuperNova casting a single concentrated beam on a globe of the earth. The many stars that make up the overhead lighting contribute to a soft illumination of the staircase.

Her sky lounge is rich in all the comforts of home, with ottomans free to float around the room to be positioned as needed. This lounge provides a 270-degree view aft which is only obstructed by something even more fun to look at… water toys on the aft deck.

The spiral Staircase, from the main deck to the sky lounge, illustrates some lovely wood-bending and there is an 180 degree twist in the laminated planks over a distance of less than 8 feet.

The Salon yacht's main saloon reflects classic and understated elegance. Whenever you’re onboard a Burger, the lineage is undeniable... just wonderful woodwork and a sense of comfort that Burger manages to capture and repeat with each vessel built. She also has an aft saloon which shows the attention to detail by the interior designer... the furnishings look as though they were carved from the same timber that dresses the rest of the room.

CHILD'S PLAY Specifications

A built-in hutch to port puts the china and crystal close at hand. To starboard, a full service bar is integrated. Forward of the dining area, the staircase and foyer feature sliding doors that close-off the salon for quiet dining.

CHILD'S PLAY offers accommodation for up to 10 in 5 cabins. The on-deck Master, two VIP queens below decks plus two twin staterooms can comfortably accommodate a family up to 10 guests. She boasts a full width, main deck, Master Suite and a beam of 25 feet, this is not your average bedroom-on-a-boat. It’s the size of a salon on most boats and it’s located on the same level! VIP stateroom is simply elegant and classic Burger tradition, it is straightforward with little to encumber movement about the cabin.

Her Master suite located on the main deck has a king-size bed, his and her en suite with a tub and a separate shower. LIFE OF RILEY was custom-built by Westport-Crescent Yachts in 1994 and designed for long-range cruising in complete luxury. In 2015, the motor yacht underwent an extensive refit, where she received new electronics, soft goods and much more.  

Filled with rich fabrics and beautiful woods, LIFE OF RILEY is warm and inviting. Large windows flood her interior with natural light to add ample ambient light. The yacht’s interior is exceptionally spacious and offers accommodations for eight guests in four lovely staterooms.

Life of Reilley is a late 2006 80ft Hatteras with an enclosed pilothouse. She’s been meticulously maintained by both her first owner and current owner alike, with no expense spared in upkeep of the yacht. In 2010, she was updated with an interior refit by a professional yacht designer, and in 2011 she had additional teak decking laid on the boat deck.

She's a four stateroom vessel, with two crew cabins. Each of the staterooms have full en suite bathrooms, with the master having both his-and-hers sides, separated by a gorgeous, marble walk-in shower. She has a spacious main saloon and country kitchen style galley. The enclosed pilothouse provides for a large and comfortable sky lounge.

Life of Reilley is down from $3,750,000 to $3,200,000.

Riley Strain: Timeline from student's disappearance until his body was found in Nashville

Two weeks after missing University of Missouri (Mizzou) student Riley Strain was last seen, his body was found in the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee.

Strain, 22, was last seen on Friday March 8. Strain traveled to Nashville to attend the annual spring formal for his fraternity Delta Chi , University of Missouri Associate Director of Public Affairs Travis Zimpher told USA TODAY.

After friends could not locate him after trying to reach him via phone and social media, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department was contacted to help locate him.

Search crews looked for Strain from March 9 until his body was located on March 22.

Family and friends gather for vigil after Riley Strain's body was found

A candlelight vigil was held Friday under the James Robertson Parkway bridge on Gay Street, a location near where Strain was last seen, to remember and honor Strain's life.

More than 50 people gathered under the bridge to pray and support Strain's family as they cherish the memories they have of the 22-year-old.

“God, we don’t understand this fully,” Spencer Maige said during an opening prayer, “… but we do know you allow love to shine through in the darkest times.”

Others attendees thanked those who searched for Strain. Chris Dingman, a family friend to the Strain family, said the family was appreciative of the love and support.

“I can’t emphasize how much the family appreciated this,” Dingman said.

Strain's family also wanted to thank the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department for their search efforts.

"You've helped us, let us take our boy home," Ryan Gilbert, Strain's father, started.

Strain's stepfather, Chris Whiteid, then stepped up to the microphone, letting out a sigh.

"We're ready for this to be over with," he said. "To the people of Nashville, I can't thank you enough for the support, the love, the encouragement that you've shown...in some of our darkest hours. The hugs, the prayers, the offers. I can't say it enough. Thank you."

Strain's mother, Michelle Whiteid, had a simple message.

"I just ask that you mommas out there hug your babies tight tonight, please." she said. "Please for me. Hug your babies tight tonight."

Friday, March 8: Strain calls his mom around 7:30 p.m. to check-in. During the FaceTime call Strain tells his mom that he was, "having a good time" while out with friends, according to an article by WKRN . Strain was last seen by his friends after he got kicked out of Luke's 32 Bridge, a rooftop bar with live music, according to a missing person's report. Nashville police say Strain was last seen on Gay Street at 9:52 p.m. After not hearing from Strain, his friends tried to contact him through social media apps and by calling his cellphone, according to police.

Monday, March 11: Officials started an initial search of the area, including the banks of the nearby Cumberland River, but did not find anything.

Delta Chi shared a Facebook post asking for the public's help to locate their fraternity brother.

Tuesday, March 12: The Nashville police department released video footage showing Strain walking by himself along Gay Street around 9:50 p.m. and crossing 1st Avenue. In the video, Strain appears disoriented as he walks alongside other pedestrians. After stopping on the sidewalk, pausing for a moment and then walking towards the direction he came from, Strain swiftly turns around and continues to walk down Gay Street. The Office of Emergency Management also launched a boat Tuesday to search the Cumberland River for Strain in a coordinated effort with police.

Wednesday, March 13:   The  Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission launched an investigation  into whether Luke's 32 Bridge overserved Strain. A vigil was held in Strain's hometown of Springfield, Missouri where community members gathered at Kickapoo High School. Chris Dingman, a close friend of Strain's family, spoke to the more than 100 people who attended the vigil. Dingman said the extensive Nashville search has included a nearby homeless camp. "We did find another homeless person who had physical contact and a conversation with Riley," Dingman said. A Wednesday evening search of the Cumberland River included two boats and sonar equipment. A GoFundMe was started and has raised more than $47,000, at the time. A description on the GoFundMe states that the money will help Strain's family with money for food, hotels and travel as the search for the missing student continues.

Thursday, March 14: The Nashville police department said Thursday afternoon that investigators are waiting for the release of Strain's phone and Apple Watch records in the hopes of tracking him down.

Friday, March 15: Country singer-songwriter Luke Bryan, owner of bar Luke's 32 Bridge, posted a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday regarding Strain's time spent at the bar.

"During Riley's visit to Luke's 32 Bridge, our records shows that he purchased and was served one alcoholic drink and two waters," Bryan said in the statement. "At 9:35 p.m., our security team was made a decision based on our conduct standards to escort him from the venue through our Broadway exit at the front of our building. He was followed down the stairs with one member of his party. The individual with Riley did not exit and returned upstairs."

Sunday, March 17: Nashville police say they have discovered Strain's bank card near the Cumberland River.

Monday, March 18 : Nashville police released body camera footage of Strain from the night he went missing.

Tuesday, March 19 : Strain's family holds press conference  in Nashville asking the  United Cajun Navy  to help find Strain.

Friday, March 22 : Strain's body is found on Friday morning in the Cumberland River in West Nashville approximately eight miles from downtown. An autopsy will be conducted to determine Strain's cause of death.
