History of Bayliner Boats

In 1957, the company sold the Bayliner boat, built of wood, by A. L. Koffel and his brother.

The first fiberglass boats were built in a barn in Marysville, Washington.

Increased volumes by 1968 made it possible to transfer production to a more suitable place for this - Arlington, and in 1969 the first assembly plant was opened, which served as the production center for the next 40 years.

The oil crisis of the 70s dealt a severe blow to the US economy, including shipbuilding.

Bayliner management did not act like other manufacturers and cut production, instead, changes were made to the design of manufactured boats, production processes were optimized, and relations with dealers were reviewed.

The innovations were so successful that in the next three years the company opened 4 more plants.

Since 1982, the shipyard began to actively gain popularity. Bayliner models became boats of the year according to various reputable publications, and from 1991 to 1995, every fourth boat sold in the United States was Bayliner .

Since 1986, the shipyard belongs to the international shipbuilding giant Brunswick and today is the first in the world in the construction of boats.
