Epic Conditions for Round Tortola Race for Nanny Cay Cup

Today was epic for the Round Tortola Race, the kick-off event for the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival. The sun shone; the sea condition was perfect – it was literally racing in paradise .

She was never a huge fan of big boat sailing until she dropped her biases and surprised herself by really enjoying it. Now she’s running her own boat – Panacea X – in the Caribbean with her (mostly) Canadian racing students crewing.

  • Waterproof Bag: Protect your valuables and electronic devices from water damage by bringing a waterproof bag or pouch. This will come in handy during beach trips or water activities.
  • Cash and Cards: It’s a good idea to have both cash and cards with you. While cards are accepted in some places, having cash on hand is useful for smaller establishments or locations with limited card acceptance.

Remember to pack light and keep in mind that storage space on a yacht is limited. Only bring what you truly need to ensure a comfortable and clutter-free experience. By packing these essential items, you’ll be prepared for an amazing and hassle-free Yacht Week British Virgin Islands adventure!

When it comes to dining and drinking on The Yacht Week British Virgin Islands, you have a variety of options to suit your preferences. Here’s what you need to know:

Provisioning: Prior to setting sail, it’s important to plan your meals and provisions for the week. While the exact arrangements may vary depending on your group and preferences, you have a few options:

  • Self-catering: Many yacht charters provide a well-equipped kitchen on board, allowing you to prepare your own meals. Prior to departure, you can stock up on groceries at local markets or supermarkets. It’s a good idea to plan your meals in advance and create a shopping list to ensure you have everything you need.
  • Pre-ordered provisioning: Some charter companies offer pre-ordered provisioning services, where you can order a package with essential food items. This can simplify the process and ensure you have the basics covered upon arrival.

The British Virgin Islands are known for their fresh seafood, so be sure to try local specialties like conch fritters, lobster, or barbecued fish.

Drinking: The Yacht Week British Virgin Islands is known for its lively parties and social atmosphere. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

Safety Tips and Regulations

When participating in The Yacht Week British Virgin Islands, it’s important to prioritize safety to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Here are some key safety tips and regulations to keep in mind:

  • Follow safety briefings: Attend and pay attention to all safety briefings conducted by The Yacht Week organizers and the charter company. Familiarize yourself with the yacht’s safety equipment, emergency procedures, and general safety guidelines.
  • Designate a responsible skipper: If you have sailing experience, appoint a designated skipper within your crew who will take charge of navigating and operating the yacht. Ensure that the skipper is comfortable and confident in handling the yacht’s controls and is knowledgeable about the local waters.
  • Be aware of weather conditions: Keep a close eye on weather forecasts and be prepared for changing conditions. If strong winds or inclement weather are expected, prioritize safety and follow any instructions or recommendations given by the charter company or local authorities.
  • Practice safe swimming and water activities: When swimming or participating in water activities, always exercise caution. Be aware of potential hazards such as strong currents or underwater obstacles. Ensure that everyone in your crew knows how to swim and is comfortable in the water.
  • Use proper safety equipment: Always wear life jackets or personal flotation devices when required, especially during water activities or when operating watercraft such as jet skis or dinghies. Ensure that safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits, are easily accessible on board.
  • Respect wildlife and marine ecosystems: The British Virgin Islands are home to diverse marine life and fragile ecosystems. When snorkeling or diving, avoid touching or disturbing coral reefs or marine creatures. Use reef-safe sunscreen to minimize the impact on the underwater environment.
  • Stay hydrated and apply sunscreen: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated during your time onboard the yacht. Apply sunscreen regularly, especially when spending time in the sun or participating in water activities. Protect yourself and your crew from sunburn and dehydration.
  • Practice responsible alcohol consumption: If you choose to consume alcohol during The Yacht Week, do so responsibly and in moderation. Avoid excessive drinking, especially when participating in water activities. Designate a responsible person to refrain from alcohol consumption and act as a sober supervisor.
  • Be mindful of local regulations: Respect local regulations, laws, and customs of the British Virgin Islands. Observe navigation rules, obey speed limits, and avoid restricted areas. Be considerate of the local community and fellow yacht-goers to maintain a positive experience for everyone involved.

Remember that safety is a collective responsibility. Communicate with your crew and be vigilant in ensuring the well-being of everyone onboard. Yacht Week 2024: Choose Your Voyage - Caribbean or Polynesia

Bora Bora

The Yacht Week is back with a bang, turning heads and rudders alike as it opens bookings for its once-in-a-lifetime sailing adventures in 2024. For both veteran and novice sailors, the choice of two paradise locations, the stunning British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean or the picturesque Tahiti in the South Pacific, offers an alluring promise of unforgettable travel escapades.

"Most travel companies focus on the British Virgin Islands and Tahiti as just honeymoon destinations and fly from island to island, but only at sea is it possible to connect with nature and experience the beauty of these islands as the locals have done for generations. The Yacht Week offers a life-changing experience at sea, where guests can embrace yacht life and sail across the beautiful turquoise waters as they enjoy a carefully curated mix of sailing, parties, exploration, and cultural activities."

For those craving a spectacular way to ring in the new year, The Yacht Week's British Virgin Islands (BVI) route has you covered. Kickstart your year by partaking in an unparalleled New Year's Eve party at a striking beach club on the islands. Picture this: the moment the clock strikes twelve, you're overlooking a pristine beach, the stars twinkling overhead as you bid goodbye to the old and welcome the new aboard a luxury yacht. Memorable, isn't it?

Unleash Your Adventurous Spirit in the BVI

Your Caribbean adventure doesn't stop there. The BVI route promises an array of experiences: wind-surfing, flamingo spotting, and even sampling the local specialty drink, 'painkillers' at the famed Soggy Dollar bar. The journey brings to life the virgin beauty of the islands, the rich underwater fauna in scuba diving excursions, and a visit to the volcanic boulders at The Baths of Virgin Gorda. Truly, an itinerary that blends relaxation and excitement in equal parts.

Immerse Yourself in the Rich Culture of Tahiti

If you're in pursuit of a unique blend of adventure and cultural immersion, the Tahiti route is your pick. Your South Pacific journey kicks off in Raiatea, before sailing towards Huahine, where you can experience Tahitian culture at its finest: visit a pearl farm, traverse the lagoon in a traditional canoe, or discover sacred hidden temples nestled amidst lush greenery.

The Tahitian experience further amplifies as you snorkel in Taha’a’s spectacular coral reef, dance under the stars at beach parties, and enjoy a traditional Polynesian feast on Taha’a - offering a glimpse into the unique culture of these serene islands.

The Caribbean or Polynesia? The Yacht Week has tailored experiences that do justice to these two distinct slices of paradise. All that's left is for you to choose your own adventure. As the returning guests would tell you, if you're in for an experience of a lifetime, why not choose 'both'?

  • THE JOURNEY

The Yacht Week Offers A Choice Of Paradise Locations For 2024

yacht week bvi 2024

The Yacht Week is offering travellers an awe-inspiring choice of paradise locations to kick off their trip-of-a-lifetime travel adventures in 2024. Bookings are now open for groups of friends to hire a luxury yacht, with an experienced skipper and host, and join a boutique flotilla of like-minded individuals to experience either the magical Caribbean British Virgin Islands (including an unforgettable New Year’s Eve party) or the stunning islands of Tahiti and French Polynesia in the south pacific. The BVI trip takes place from 28th Dec – 4th Jan and 5th – 12th Jan. The Tahiti trip takes place from 6th – 13th April and 13th – 20th April.

Most travel companies focus on the British Virgin Islands and Tahiti as just honeymoon destinations and fly from island to island, but only at sea is it possible to connect with nature and experience the beauty of these islands as the locals have done for generations. The Yacht Week offers a life-changing experience at sea, where guests can embrace yacht life and sail across the beautiful turquoise waters as they enjoy a carefully curated mix of sailing, parties, exploration, and cultural activities.

yacht week bvi 2024

For those looking to start the year in style, the BVI Route offers the chance to see in the New Year in paradise, partying with The Yacht Weekers at one of the islands’ stunning beach clubs. New Year celebrations can often melt into one, but a New Year’s Eve party on the British Virgin Islands before heading back to sleep under the stars on a luxury yacht? That’s a memory that will last forever.

The BVI Route also delivers the most beautiful scenery and a trip to the coral island, Anegada. Guests can windsurf, find flamingos, explore, and feast on fresh lobster at the evening party. Only at the BVI’s can guests drink ‘painkillers’ at the Soggy Dollar bar, or visit the deserted Sandy Cay and iconic Willy T’s floating bar at Norman Island. There’s plenty of time for scuba dives and chill vibes as the flotilla drops anchor before a sail to Virgin Gorda and The Baths – sky-high boulders created by volcanic eruptions – where guests can swim, before a platter of sushi and a chance to reflect on an incredible trip with new friends as the sun goes down.

yacht week bvi 2024

Not to be outdone, Tahiti and French Polynesia is a different slice of paradise. The Yacht Weekers gather in Raiatea to meet skippers, hosts, and new friends, enjoying sunset drinks at a beautiful Polynesian beach bar before the flotilla sets sail to Huahine, where guests can really explore and experience Tahitian culture – visit a pearl farm, cross the island on horseback, tour the lagoon on a traditional canoe, or even trek through dense vegetation to discover the hidden sacred temples.

Guests can master sailing skills as they head to snorkel at Taha’a’s spectacular coral reef or at Bora Bora among stingrays and sharks (or explore Bora Bora on land by 4×4 and visit the sea turtle sanctuary). On land there are parties on a magical, deserted island beach, a stylish yacht club, and of course, out at sea with The Yacht Week’s renowned raft parties. Each night is another chance to dance and there is always the opportunity to stroll the sunkissed beaches with new friends and a cocktail in hand. The south pacific odyssey closes with a traditional Polynesian dancing feast on Taha’a with food, drink, and another glimpse into the unique culture of these beautiful islands.

Tahiti and BVI are very different parts of the world, but no other travel experience captures the allure of these sublime islands while delivering quite as much as The Yacht Week. The question remains – which paradise should guests choose? Previous guests will suggest the answer is ‘both’.

British Virgin Islands Season 2024: The Ritzy Charters Selection

by Federico Lopez on Jan 03, 2024

British Virgin Islands Season 2024: The Ritzy Charters Selection

Having attended the most recent BVI Charter Yacht Show and being able to witness the yachts available in the area, our dedicated team of Brokers has curated a selection of the most immaculate and professional Crewed Yacht Charters to sail in the British Virgin Islands during the 2024 season.

The last BVI show was held November 7-10 at Nanny Cay Resort & Marina, Tortola. It was the largest edition the industry has seen in recent years, with a record yacht and brokers attendance: 50 crewed yachts and more than 120 charter brokers attended the Fall Show. After conducting a vote among our colleagues, Ritzy Charters has narrowed this list to our Top 5 Favorite Yachts.

The criteria for this selection was to find those yachts with the best balance between the vessel's quality and its crew's professionalism. To evaluate the infrastructure we consider variables such as the year of manufacture, the quality of its materials and finish, its general maintenance, and how comfortable the layout and its features are. As for the crew, we consider their level of experience, service vocation and effective communication, among other skills.

Below are our recommendations when choosing a Crewed Yacht Charter in the British Virgin Islands for the 2024 season.

#5 WANDERLUST

Said Kahn's 400-foot long superyacht Kismet charters for over $3 million per week

I haven’t met Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan yet. But, after touring his previous 313-foot-long superyacht that’s played host to numerous A-list celebrities at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show a few years back, and recently learning that his newly launched superyacht is 400-feet-long, it’s pretty obvious he likes to go big.

And as you can see in these images, Khan’s new KISMET ( Cecil Wright sold his previous 313-foot-long KISMET last September and is the central charter agent for this one) that was built by LĂŒrssen in Germany, has an exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard , and an interior design led by the Khan’s family working alongside Reymond Langton Design takes going big to a whole other level.

Actually, what makes KISMET even more opulent is the simple fact that eventhough it’s much, much longer than an American football field, it’s designed to pamper just 12 uber VIP ’s over the yacht’s six massive decks.

The owners suite aboard the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week is opulent

In fact, the master suite spans two decks and features a large skylight and fireplace, and his and hers bathrooms and dressing rooms. The private hot tub and sunbathing area forward and the private staircase leading up to a spectacular office simply must be seen to be believed.

The guest cabins also offer an oasis of comfort and serenity with the flexibility to accommodate varying preferences. Meanwhile, the yacht’s wellness and beauty areas include a Balinese-inspired spa with hammam, sauna, and cryotherapy chamber to a dedicated gym and yoga studio with a juice bar, both with opening sea terraces. In addition, there is a further treatment room with a massage table, waterfall shower and chromotherapy bathtub. For red carpet ready evenings, the yacht has two hair and beauty rooms, one in the spa area and another in the owner’s suite.

The outdoor cinema aboard the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week

Entertainment areas include a large outdoor cinema on the bridge deck and a Nemo cinema on the lower deck with a 150-inch drop-down TV and underwater viewing lounge. Of course there’s also a DJ station overhanging the bridge deck aft, a Boganyi grand piano on the upper deck and four bars, including a champagne bar and wine cellar room.

As you’d expect, the yacht also boasts a full suite of water sports toys including: Jet Skis, SeaBobs, e-foils, Flitescooters, an Aquaglide floating deck and inflatable slide, dive gear and oh, by-the-way, there’s a basketball and pickleball court forward of the master cabin on the foredeck.

Sounds amazing, right? It is. And all of that over-the-top luxury can be yours for approximately $3,000,000 per week via Cecil Wright . And I bet KISMET ’s summer season is close to be fully booked already!
