Short Answer

The cost of a yacht in the Philippines depends on a variety of factors, such as the size, model, and condition of the yacht.

Generally, you can expect to pay anywhere from $50,000 to $10 million or more for a yacht in the Philippines.

Additionally, there are often additional costs associated with owning and operating a yacht, such as dock fees, maintenance costs, and insurance.

Overview of Yacht Prices in the Philippines

The cost of a yacht in the Philippines can vary greatly depending on size, amenities, and brand.

Smaller yachts may cost as little as around $150,000, while larger and more luxurious models can cost upwards of $3 million.

When considering a yacht purchase, it is important to understand all the costs associated with ownership and operation.

This includes not only the purchase price, but also the cost of upkeep, maintenance, insurance, fuel, and other fees.

The size of the yacht will significantly affect the price.

Smaller yachts, such as sport fishing boats and sailboats, may cost as little as around $150,000, while larger, luxury yachts can cost upwards of $3 million.

The amenities of the yacht will also affect the cost.

For example, a yacht with more advanced navigation and communication systems, as well as a spacious interior, will be more expensive than a basic model.

The brand of the yacht is also a factor, as some brands may be more expensive than others.

In addition to the purchase price, there are many other costs associated with owning a yacht in the Philippines.

These include the cost of upkeep, maintenance, and insurance.

The cost of fuel and docking fees will also need to be taken into consideration.

Depending on the size and type of yacht, these costs can add up quickly.

For those considering a yacht purchase in the Philippines, it is important to research and factor in all of these costs to ensure the best value for their money.

It is also important to consider the type of yacht that best suits your needs and budget, as well as the availability of resources for upkeep and maintenance.

With the right research and planning, you can find the perfect yacht for your needs at the right price.

Factors Affecting the Cost of a Yacht

boat yacht price philippines

The cost of a yacht in the Philippines can vary greatly depending on a number of factors.

Size, amenities, and brand are the most important when it comes to determining the cost of a yacht.

The size of the yacht is one of the most important factors affecting the cost.

Smaller boats are more affordable, while larger vessels cost more.

The size of the yacht will also affect the amenities, such as the number of rooms, the types of materials used, and the number of features.

The amenities included in the yacht are another important factor that affects the cost.

Luxury yachts can be equipped with all the latest features, such as a full-service kitchen, air conditioning , a Jacuzzi, and a bar.

The more amenities included, the higher the price tag.

The brand of the yacht is also a factor to consider.

Boats from renowned brands such as Benetti, Azimut, and Ferretti will cost more than boats from lesser known brands.

Brand recognition can also add to the cost, as well as the reputation of the brand.

In addition to the cost of the yacht itself, there are other costs to consider when buying a yacht in the Philippines.

Upkeep and maintenance, for example, can add up quickly.

Insurance is another factor, as yacht insurance in the Philippines can be expensive.

It is important to research and factor in all of these costs to ensure the best value for your money.

Smaller Yacht Prices in the Philippines

When it comes to the cost of a yacht in the Philippines, it can vary greatly depending on its size, amenities, and brand.

Smaller yachts, known as day yachts, typically cost less than larger yachts.

For example, a smaller day yacht in the Philippines can range between $150,000 to $400,000 depending on its size and features.

These yachts are perfect for day trips and short voyages, and many offer basic amenities such as a kitchen, sleeping quarters, and a bathroom.

They may be equipped with amenities such as an outdoor shower, a sun deck, and a small dive platform.

These yachts are also ideal for fishing, as they are nimble and have an open deck space.

For those looking for a larger and more luxurious yacht, they can expect to pay upwards of $3 million.

These larger yachts are typically more luxurious and offer more amenities such as multiple decks, a full kitchen, multiple cabins, and a larger dive platform.

They may also come equipped with a spa, gym, and a helipad.

These yachts are perfect for longer voyages, as they are equipped with the necessary amenities and spacious enough to accommodate a larger number of passengers.

It is important to remember that the total cost of ownership of a yacht in the Philippines is more than just the purchase price.

Factors such as upkeep, maintenance, and insurance will also affect the total cost.

For example, the cost of fuel, mooring fees, and repairs can add up quickly.

Larger Yacht Prices in the Philippines

boat yacht price philippines

When it comes to the cost of a yacht in the Philippines, larger models tend to cost significantly more than smaller ones.

Luxury yachts with high-end amenities can cost anywhere from $1 million to $3 million or more, depending on the size of the yacht and the features it has.

Some of the features that can affect the cost of a yacht include the number of decks, the type of engines, the interior design, and the extra amenities such as a jacuzzi, a gym, or a cinema room.

For those looking to purchase a yacht in the Philippines, it is important to factor in the cost of upkeep and maintenance.

Yachts require regular servicing and repair, and the cost of these can quickly add up over the years.

Insurance is also a must, as it is important to protect your investment from potential damages.

It is also important to consider the cost of fuel when calculating the total cost of ownership.

The larger the yacht, the more fuel it will require, so it is essential to factor this in when budgeting for a yacht.

Finally, it is important to hire a competent and experienced crew to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the yacht.

The cost of crew salaries and related expenses can add up over time, so it is critical to include these costs in the total cost of ownership.

In conclusion, the cost of a yacht in the Philippines can vary greatly depending on its size, amenities, and brand.

It is important to factor in the cost of upkeep, maintenance, insurance, fuel, and crew salaries when calculating the total cost of ownership for a yacht in the Philippines.

Additional Costs to Consider

When it comes to the cost of owning a yacht in the Philippines, there are several additional factors to consider beyond the initial purchase price.

These include the costs of upkeep, maintenance, and insurance.

Upkeep costs are often overlooked, but can add up quickly, as they include things like fuel and dockage fees.

Maintenance costs depend on the type of yacht and how often it is used, but can include things like regular engine check-ups and hull maintenance.

Lastly, insurance is a must, as it can provide protection against unexpected events such as theft and accidents.

The cost of insurance will depend on the type and size of the yacht and the type of coverage desired.

It is important to research and factor in all of these costs when considering a yacht purchase in the Philippines to ensure the best value for their money.

Resources for Finding Quality Yachts in the Philippines

When looking for a yacht in the Philippines, it is important to consider the various resources available to you.

The most popular option is to search online, as there are many websites dedicated to finding yachts for sale.

These websites offer a wide range of options, including yachts of different sizes and amenities, as well as different brands and pricing.

You can also find used or refurbished yachts, which can be a good option if you are on a budget.

Another option is to search for local yacht dealerships in the Philippines.

These dealerships offer a variety of brands, models, and sizes, and can provide valuable advice on selecting the best yacht for your needs and budget.

In addition, these dealerships often have an inventory of both new and used yachts, so you can compare different models and pricing more easily.

Finally, it is also possible to find quality yachts by attending boat shows and yacht exhibitions.

Here, you can get an up-close look at the various models available and speak with representatives from different dealerships.

This can be a great opportunity to get a feel for the size, style, and amenities of the yacht you are interested in.

You may even be able to find special deals or discounts that are only available at the show.

Final Thoughts

Buying a yacht in the Philippines can be an exciting and rewarding experience.

It is important to keep in mind, however, that the cost of the yacht can vary greatly depending on its size, amenities, and brand.

Additional costs must also be taken into account such as upkeep, maintenance, and insurance.

To ensure the best value for your money, be sure to research all costs associated with yacht ownership and take advantage of any tips and resources available to save money on your purchase.

Guide is good and friendly. He took us photos as well, View is fabulous, cave is maintained and reserved like wow, Only thing is a batch went for zip lining and took 2hrs to return which is a bit more. It’s a shared tour they can go but time limit has to be there for that, 2hrs made others all very uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, we got bad weather and the coast guard almost cancelled this trip due to high winds. We were able to go to the virgin island and go snorkeling in Balicasag. Which was amazing. So many wildlife there and we even saw a sea turtle. We were also offered to go scuba diving while on the island but thankfully we didn't go for it as the weather was apparently getting worse to the point where the coast guard might have prevented us from heading back. Thankfully the crew that took us was keeping tabs on that to make sure that didn't happen.

Cruising Catamarans & Trimarans For Sale

cruising catamarans for sale Philippines

Cruising Catamarans For Sale

Cruising catamarans offer possibly the best way to travel among the 7100+ islands of the Philippine archipelago. The shallow draft of most catamarans means they can get you into bays and river estuaries that would not be possible with a conventional sailing yacht.

Other advantages of cruising catamarans are that they typically offer more living space than conventional monohull yachts of similar length, making them also spacious liveaboard alternatives. Plus, they make for more stable platforms for launching and retrieving scuba divers, snorkelers and kiteboarders. This all makes cruising catamarans the perfect boats for yacht charter.

There are cruising catamaran builders in Cebu and Dumaguete that have been building yachts for two decades or more. Mostly these catamarans are built using top-grade marine ply, encapsulated in fibreglass or epoxy, making them easy to maintain. Catamarans and trimarans, built in fibreglass, Kevlar and carbon fibre, are made to special order by specialty boat builders in Subic Bay and Clark.

The only real downside to catamarans is that they are usually cost close to twice the price of a monohull cruising yacht, for the same length overall (LOA). This is also why yacht charter fees are typically higher for catamarans than for monohulls or even trimarans.

Listed here are cruising catamarans (and trimarans) for sale for cruising (and racing) in the Philippines. Many are suitable for longer voyages and some have sailed here from as far away and the U.S.A., Australia and Europe; many are also suitable to be put into service as charter yachts.

Trimarans for sale.

From a usability standpoint, trimarans offer the same primary advantage as catamarans insomuch as they are typically shallow draft and can get you into bay and estuaries that would be off limits for monohull sailing yachts. Trimarans offer the added advantage of being able to "point" (sail closer to the angle of wind) better than catamarans and will frequently get you to your destination faster than either a monohull sailing yacht or a catamaran.

Trimarans have not caught on as fast as catamarans for cruising because they usually do not provide as much living space, being more like a conventional sailing yacht in this respect - with the living area limited to the main hull (the amas typically being used for additional storage space for light but bulky items). However, on many trimarans you will find trampolines between the hull and the amas - great for lazing by the beach and imbibing the beauty of Mother Nature.

There is a trimaran builder in Clark that specializes in the manufacture of trailerable, FARRIER trimarans, which are built under license and exported worldwide.

Most people invest in a trimaran (in preference to catamarans and monohulls) because they enjoy everything else about the sport of sailing but they also want to go fast.

At Borrow A Boat we're on a mission to make boating more accessible and to make it easier for you to get on the water. We believe boating should be available to everyone, and we can help the boating industry, boat owners, marinas, and everyone who wants to go boating by providing a 21st-century boating marketplace. Borrow A Boat is the best place to find and rent boats of all sorts, from a canal and riverboat across Europe to a sailing boat, motorboat, catamaran across North America, the Mediterranean, Caribbean and further afield, along with some of the world's most impressive superyachts and luxury yacht charters.

Boats or Yachts Available For Rent Or Charter In Philippines

Where it comes to chartering or renting boats in Philippines below is a list of the typical types of boats that you can hire on Borrow A Boat with a description of the boat type. If you can't find the individual boat charter you are looking for when you do a search in [location name] it's worthwhile searching nearby locations as your chosen boat type might be available nearby.

When searching a geographical area on Borrow A Boat you can filter by the below boat types. There is also the option to further filter your searches by price, the number of guests, cabins or bathrooms, what year the boat or sailing yacht was launched, the boat length and the boat manufacturer.

Sailboat: From €120/£100/$135 a day up to whatever you can afford, monohull sailing yachts are fun to sail at all points of the wind and an affordable way to get around if your island hopping or finding your own secluded coves or sandy beaches along with longer cruises. Sizes range from those for a couple or small family to a full sized luxury charter yacht.

Catamaran: Luxury catamarans are stable and spacious, with quick sailing performance, and have been gaining in popularity in recent years. Better for larger groups, they have lots of room for water toys, and are big enough for a little privacy. A catamaran charter is easy and comfortable for novices not used to heeling and are loved by families due to their extra space when compared to a monohull. Typically far more luxurious than a sailboat the larger catamarans have en suite toilets and showers in the staterooms as well as ample entertaining space in the saloon and on deck.

Power Catamaran: These types of boats are relatively new but have also been gaining in popularity as the two hulls keep the boat more stable when compared to a monohull. The wider beam also means more deck space and as they don't have sails or a mast, they have a lot more space on deck than a sailing catamaran rental or monohull. For a luxury catamaran charter, consider taking a crewed catamaran charter sailing vacation with an experienced skipper.

Luxury Yacht: Luxury yacht charters are available for either a sailing yacht (sailboat), catamaran or motorboat and will have a crew and host/hostess on hand to cater for whatever your needs are along with a skipper who will have a detailed knowledge of your cruising area. On a crewed yacht charter of this kind you get to create your own personal itinerary and will have far greater range than on other boats which allows for lots of variety in how you travel and what you do.

Superyacht: A superyacht or sometimes called mega yacht are boats which are least 24 metres (79 feet) in length up to 180 metres (590 feet) and can either be sailing yachts (sailboats) or motorboats. These types of boats are most frequently found in the Med of Caribbean and due to their size they will have a large chartering area and can typically pick you up from whatever location you require rather than you being required to get to a set marina to start your charter. They are fully crewed with professional staff who will cater for your every need along with a skipper who will have extensive knowledge of your chosen cruising areas.

Motorboat: This covers a wide variety of boats from a motor yacht with cabins to a private boat trip for a fishing trip but all of the these are comfortable seagoing boats with a kick of speed should you want to cover a bigger distance on the day.

RIB: Very much day boats for fishing and day cruising, RIBs are a lot of fun for a day afloat. They can be very quick and are great should you be in a town on holiday and fancy seeing the coast or finding secluded sandy beaches to get away from it all.

Captained Yacht Charter or Bareboat

When it comes to boat rental or yacht charter in Philippines you typically have two choices - bareboat yacht rental or captained yacht charter.

When using Borrow A Boat you can filter all boat searches to be with or without a captain depending on what you are looking for and below we cover some of the main points to consider for your boat rental.

Captained Charter: A captained yacht charter gives you the advantage of being able to get afloat without having to invest in getting sailing qualifications before hand. For a monohull sailing yacht you will pay €120/£100/$135 plus a day extra for the captain, as well as their food and a tip at the end.

When you get to a luxury yacht or superyacht charter with crew these prices will increase and costs also depend on where you plan to sail to along with the size and type of boat rental on your sailing holiday.

In some cases captains will also be the yacht or boat owners (typically day trips) which means they will know all the best secluded beaches to show you the best that the area has to offer with their local knowledge.

For day trips you will often be able to use a captain as well and prices will vary depending on the type of boat.

Bareboat Yacht Charter: For skilled sailors, a bareboat charter is cheaper and gives more privacy for you and your charter guests. Many sailors prefer to be helming the boat while choosing their own course, and provided you have the knowledge and relevant qualifications you can captain these boats (typically up to 54 feet/16.5 metres in length) yourself.

Do You Need A Licence To Charter A Yacht In Philippines

If you are on a gulet or captained yacht charter you do not need a license to sail a yacht out of Philippines. This is also the case where you are renting a small motorboat without a cabin for a day trip around the local islands or beaches.

You do need a license if you are on a bareboat yacht charter, here are some examples of sailing qualifications:

International Certificate of Competence: This is issued on request by your European sailing authority and you should automatically qualify with certain national sailing qualifications.

RYA Qualifications: If you have the following qualifications you will be able to take a bareboat charter out of Philippines, these include Day Skipper (sail or motor endorsement), Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster.

American Sailing Association (ASA): The ASA 104 Bareboat certificate is commonly accepted.

US Sailing: The International Proficiency Certificate is widely accepted and The Bareboat Cruising Certificate is also accepted in many cases.

The main points to consider are what is your budget, have you got the necessary sailing experience and qualifications to manage the boat if it's not going to have a skipper, whom you are taking sailing, where exactly you wish to go and what will the weather be like on the proposed dates of your trip.

You will typically pay 50% up front on booking the yacht hire and the balance on arrival. You will either pay a security deposit with your credit card on departure or can get insurance covering damage in advance. In some cases (such as the recent Covid situation) charter companies may be more flexible but this depends on the individual charter companies themselves.

If you are at sea and in danger, call MAYDAY on VHF Ch16 or ring the coast guard on your phone if you have reception. If you have a mechanical fault and can make it to or are on a mooring you will be able to phone a help line number given by the boat charter company.

You should consider do you have the experience to handle the yacht charter or boat rental before you book and where do you want to go along with what the weather will be like. Bring warm weather and cool weather clothing if it looks like the weather can be cool as well as warm and remember at sea it can be cool on most evenings.

If you want to sail without a captain then you will need relevant qualifications like RYA Day Skipper/International Certificate of Competence (ICC)/ASA 104 Bareboat certificate or the US Sailing Certificate. For small 'day boats' or if you choose to have a skippered on board your yacht charter you typically don't require licences.

We are confident that our prices are the most competitive and transparent in the market.

Philippines alleges China damaged vessel in South China Sea disputed shoal

Manila says its coastguard ship was damaged after being hit by water cannon; Beijing says it ‘expelled’ Philippine boats.

A screen grab showing two Chinese coast guard ships firing water cannon at a Filipino ship. The Filipino ship is between the two Chinese ships

The Philippines has accused China of “dangerous maneuvers and obstruction” and reinstalling a barrier at the disputed Scarborough Shoal, which Beijing blockaded and seized from Manila in 2012.

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) spokesman Jay Tarriela said two Philippine vessels on maritime patrol encountered four China Coast Guard (CCG) ships and six vessels from its maritime militia in the area on Monday morning.

One of the ships was struck by water cannon from one of the CCG ships about 12 nautical miles (22km) from the shoal, while the other – a PCG vessel – was hit by water cannon fired from two of the CCG ships when it was about 1,000 yards (914 metres) away from the shoal, which the Philippines calls Bajo de Masinloc.

Writing on social media platform X, Tarriela said the ship’s railing and canopy were damaged.

A video accompanying the post showed water cannon hitting the port side of the boat as well as the starboard side closer to the bow.

“This damage serves as evidence of the forceful water pressure used by the China Coast Guard in their harassment of the Philippine vessels,” he wrote.

Yesterday, the Philippine Coast Guard vessel, BRP BAGACAY (MRRV-4410), and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources vessel, BRP BANKAW (MMOV-3004), were assigned to carry out a legitimate maritime patrol in the waters near Bajo De Masinloc. On Tuesday, Beijing claimed it had “expelled” Philippine vessels from the area, a traditional fishing ground that also provides shelter in stormy weather.

Tarriela said China had also reinstalled a barrier about 415 yards (380 metres) long across the entrance to the shoal, which lies about 220km (137 miles) off the coast of the Philippines and within its exclusive economic zone (EEZ). Under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), an EEZ extends some 200 nautical miles (about 370km) from a country’s coast.

China first installed the barrier last year, but the Philippines removed it in September saying it breached international maritime law.

The Philippines and China have been involved in multiple incidents in and around the disputed reef in the South China Sea, which Beijing claims almost in its entirety under a nine-dash line that an international tribunal ruled in 2016 to be without merit.

Manila took its case to the tribunal after China seized Scarborough Shoal more than a decade ago.

China has ignored the ruling and continued to press its claim.

Brunei, Malaysia and Vietnam also claim the parts of the sea around their coasts.
