The Pellicano of Red Boat Tours moves through the water

Red Boat Tours offers family-friendly and adult-only tours, including dolphin, sunset, and seasonal tours. Most of the tours depart from the Vilano Beach Fishing Pier floating dock.

The Red Boat, Pellicano , is a 50-foot Trident Pontoon that is 16 feet wide. This spacious, open-air boat features a restroom, padded seating, and a shade roof. The crew provides bottles of water, and guests may bring soft drinks and snacks aboard any cruise and adult beverages aboard the sunset cruises.

This is a wheelchair-accessible boat that welcomes private parties and group tours. They have an excellent sound system and space for up to 49 passengers, making this a great venue for anniversaries, birthdays, and small weddings. Captain Tony Palesotti is a notary and can perform the wedding ceremony.

Cruises and Tours

Passengers board Pellicano from the floating dock on the fishing pier at Vilano Beach. Free parking is available in a lot right in front of the pier or along the street on Vilano Road. The boat navigates the Intracoastal Waterway and Matanzas Bay and does not go into the open ocean. The experienced captain and crew delight in showing the natural wonders of these waterways.

Dolphin Odyssey & Sightseeing Tour

The 90-minute Dolphin Odyssey and Sightseeing Tour showcases both the beauty of St. Augustine from the water and the special pleasure of seeing wild dolphins swimming up alongside the boat. Though a sighting cannot be guaranteed, most tours have reported at least a glimpse of a fin and a friendly face as dolphins play and feed nearby in groups. This tour costs $29.00 for all who are 13 and over, $15.00 for children aged three through 12, and $8.00 for infants and toddlers under three.

Sunset BYOB Cruise

This 90-minute adults-only sunset cruise offers a unique way to relax after a day of sightseeing. Guests bring their alcoholic beverage of choice and sip the day away as they coast the water and watch the sun set behind the city's skyline. This cruise is $39.00 per person.

Seasonal Tours

4th of july fireworks cruise.

Your Itinerary

1 Jacksonville, FL/Amelia Island, FL Departing for Green Cove Springs, enjoy an onboard welcome reception as we cruise along the waters of St. Johns River. Distinguished as an American Heritage River, it is one of only three rivers in the nation that flows north.

2 Green Cove Springs, FL High ground along the St. Johns’ banks and a flowing mineral spring attracted the first inhabitants to this area nearly 7,000 years ago. With the introduction of the railroads in the 1800’s, Green Cove Springs quickly became a favorite stop for wealthy Northerners searching for a warm retreat from winter’s harsh climate. Today Green Cove Springs boasts cool mineral springs, shimmering lakes and thriving forests that provide enchanting natural beauty. This charming city offers a variety of activities and sites for visitors, including the Clay County Historical and Railroad Museum, Camp Blanding Museum and Memorial Park.

3 Palatka, FL Once known for its worldwide shipping commerce of citrus and timber, Palatka attracted a number of wealthy northerners looking to relocate to a warmer climate. Today, it remains a charming river town with grand homes that stand as a testament to distinguished residents that once called Palatka home. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy visiting the beautifully landscaped Ravine Gardens State Park.

4 Amelia Island, FL Discover the unspoiled beauty of pristine Amelia Island, with its miles of quartz beaches and rolling sand dunes, surrounded by calm waterways and the Nassau Sound. Throughout its history Amelia Island was home to Spanish explorers, French Huguenots and British settlers before enjoying its “golden age” during the late 1800’s when several wealthy Americans relocated to the picturesque island. Once a bustling Victorian seaport, Fernandina Beach, the island’s only city, now harbors a treasure trove of history, antiques, and collectibles just steps from your ship. Join a walking tour of Centre Street’s Historic District, with 50 blocks of restored 19th century Victorian homes and shops. Or take a leisurely stroll along the shady tree-lined avenues and explore Amelia Island’s charm at your own pace.

5 Cruising the Tolomato River Tolomato River is an inland waterway, between the coastline and the Barrier Islands. Have your camera ready for glorious views of the Atlantic Ocean, visible just past the islands. The naturalist will be on the observation deck, pointing out the native wildlife and answering questions.

6 St. Augustine, FL Established in 1565, St. Augustine is recognized as America’s oldest surviving European settlement. With its historic ruins, public rose gardens, subtropical flora, tranquil waterways, freshwater lakes and championship golf courses, St. Augustine is always a passenger favorite. In the late 1800’s, oil millionaire Henry Flagler built a number of elegant hotels and churches in the old city in an attempt to fulfill his vision of establishing an American Riviera along Florida’s eastern shores. Although this “golden era” ended in the early 1900’s, Flagler’s legacy remains, and his buildings grace St. Augustine as both monuments to early American opulence and architectural ingenuity. Spend the afternoon exploring the unique architecture, narrowed streets and balconied houses of a city once used as a remote outpost of the Spanish Empire. You may also choose to join an organized tour of the historic villages of this fantastic city, including the fabled Fountain of Youth Park and the famous Potter’s Wax Museum.

Onboard Experience

The American Cruise Line fleet of ships are the newest and most environmentally friendly small ships in the US. The cruise line prides itself on their hospitable staff, and that you’ll be graciously received no matter which ship you cruise on. In the Pacific Northwest, you’ll find fresh fish on the menu, including shrimp bisque or Dungeness Crab cake, and a marionberry cheesecake that’ll make your mouth water! Your ship will provide you with a list of all the locally-sourced ingredients when you unpack.

St Augustine FL is a St Johns River cruise port and town in Florida USA (St Johns County) with population around 13,000. The town is at the river's mouth and part of Florida's First Coast region (along Northeast Florida's Atlantic coast) as well as of Greater Jacksonville ( Jacksonville metro area with combined population over 1,5 million).

St Augustine is continental USA's oldest continuously occupied settlement established by Europeans. It was established (as "San Agustin") in 1565 by the Spanish admiral Pedro Menendez de Aviles (1519-1574) - Florida's first governor. The town was named after Saint Augustine of Hippo (Christian theologian and philosopher from Numidia). The Spanish ships were loaded with supplies, settlers and soldiers from Spain. They sighted the land 11 days earlier (on August 28, feast day of St Augustine).

San Agustin served as the capital of Spanish Florida for over 300 years (1513-1821). In 1763, the territory was traded to Great Britain (renamed British East Florida) in exchange for Havana (Cuba) . In 1819. it was ceded to USA. In 1821 (after Adams-Onís Treaty was ratified), St Augustine was designated Florida's capital city (until 1824, when Tallahassee became capital).

In 1997, when Florida State abolished Historic St Augustine Preservation Board, the city assumed control of over 36 buildings that were restored or reconstructed to their historical appearance. In 2015, the town celebrated its 450th anniversary with a visit from Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano (Queen of Spain) and Felipe VI (King of Spain). Hurricane Matthew (Category 5 Atlantic storm) caused widespread flooding in downtown St Augustine on October 7, 2016.

As cruise port, St Augustine FL is included in the schedule of USA's largest river cruise company - ACL-American Cruise Lines ). Next table shows company's 7-day "Great Rivers of Florida" itinerary from homeport Jacksonville FL (ship American Star ), with prices from ~USD 2900 per person (double occupancy).
