The best time for a yacht charter in Tahiti is during their winter months, which run from April to November. This dry season has lower humidity, temperatures in the mid-80s, and hardly any rain or storms. Additionally, if you prefer a sailing yacht, these months offer constant southeasterly trade winds that temper the heat from the sun and fill the sails of your yacht.

Water Conditions : The waters of the South Pacific are inviting year-round, with temperatures hovering in the mid-to-high 70s. Typically, the swells are calm, although they do climb in the wet season.

Yacht Charters in Tahiti – Where to Go

Tahiti yacht charters take you to the most beautiful beaches

Every island, atoll, and port of call in Tahiti and French Polynesia has its own unique flair. From exclusive black pearl jewelers – (Tahiti is the world’s black pearl capital) – to spas and outdoor adventures, seeing all of French Polynesia would take a lifetime.

But that’s the advantage of touring Tahiti by superyacht. You and your guests can experience more of Tahiti and the region’s sights, sounds, and tastes.

Every yacht charter itinerary is personalized to create a unique luxury vacation. You might tour the Society Islands, which includes the cosmopolitan Tahiti, the ultra-exclusive Bora Bora , and scenic Moorea, for a taste of Polynesian culture, cuisine and charm. Or choose to tour the entire region – from Tahiti to Fiji – stopping to explore undiscovered beaches and lagoons, hidden restaurants and spas, and the region’s stunning vistas along the way.

The good news: The itinerary is up to you. Charter a yacht and create an itinerary that includes all of the best places in the South Pacific:

  • Bora Bora – One of Tahiti’s best-known destinations, Bora Bora is the crown jewel of the Society Islands. Set on a crystal-clear bay, Bora Bora is the ultimate destination for R&R, as the island is home to world-class spas, beach resorts and numerous secluded beaches.Escape to Matira Beach, one of the island’s best-kept secrets, and enjoy the white-sand beaches. This is a great beach for snorkeling, kayaking and water sports. Bora Bora’s warm waters are also great for scuba diving and paddleboarding, and ATV tours and helicopter rides offer exciting explorations of the island’s interior.
  • Moorea – Lush and breath-takingly beautiful, Moorea is one of the most stunning islands in French Polynesia. The island is known for its warm, welcoming spirit, and is a popular destination for honeymoons. There’s plenty to do here. Belvedere Lookout is a hiking spot that offers incredible views of Moorea’s lush mountains. Plus, you’ll find great snorkeling at all of Moorea’s relaxed beaches, including Ta’ahiamanu Beach and Temae Beach.
  • Huahine – Nicknamed the “Garden of Eden,” Huahine is a dazzling tropical paradise. Here you’ll find picture-perfect white-sand beaches and laid-back vibes. The island is home to just 6,000 people, and as such, it’s rustic and charming. When you go, be sure to grab a frozen cocktail at the Huahine Yacht Club.
  • Raiatea – This island is rich in culture and history, and welcomes visitors with its warm, laid-back vibes. Raiatea offers plenty to do and explore. It’s one of the top charter destinations in French Polynesia, thanks to its numerous bays, moorings and marinas. Plus, many Leeward Islands are nearby, so it’s a great stop on an island-hopping adventure. One option: Explore the ancient ruins at Taputapuatea Marae and Arahurahu Marae. You can also discover Raiatea on ATV and Jeep tours or escape to one of the island’s pristine beaches.
  • Tahaa – Escape to Tahaa for the best in seclusion and relaxation. There are plenty of ways to experience Tahaa’s natural beauty: Scuba diving, waterfall hikes, ATV overland tours, and snorkeling at the coral gardens.

How Much Does It Cost to Charter a Yacht in Tahiti

The cost of a yacht charter in Tahiti is dependent on a number of factors, including the length of the boat you choose, your itinerary, and the duration of your vacation. Typically, smaller sailing yachts range in price from $20,000 to $50,000 per week. Luxury motor yachts in Tahiti cost on average between $75,000 and $250,000 per week.

Tahiti Yacht Charters – What to See & Do

A woman swimming in Tahiti

Thanks to Tahiti’s unique geography, yacht charters in the region offer itineraries full of exhilarating moments. Each island in the region – from Bora Bora to Huahine – offers new experiences and sites to explore. You can peruse the handiwork of local artisans in an area market or try to ride the waves on a surfboard in Bora Bora.

Regardless of where you roam in the South Pacific, you’ll be able to find the solitude you’ve been craving and untouched natural beauty on your Tahiti yacht charter.

Looking for some inspiring reasons to consider chartering a yacht in Tahiti? From postcard-worthy moorings to unforgettable sea adventures, here are some of the reasons to consider experiencing Tahiti by superyacht:

World-Class Snorkeling and Diving

Tahiti – the largest of the Society Islands – and the nearby Leeward Islands boast some of the world’s best snorkeling. Nowhere else on Earth will you find such rich, rare and abundant marine life. Nearly every lagoon – dazzlingly with that world-renowned aquamarine color – is dotted with a coral reef. And dolphins, porpoises, sea turtles, neon-hued reef fish and vibrant corals call these reefs home.

Simply stated, Tahiti is the world’s best destination for an unforgettable snorkeling and diving adventure.

Fortunately, all these world-class snorkeling spots are, quite literally, at your doorstep. Wake up. Enjoy a breakfast of exotic fruit prepared by your personal chef. Then, your day of snorkeling begins.

Your crew knows the region’s dive spots like the back of their hands. That means you can avoid the overcrowded lagoons in favor of hidden, off-the-beaten-path reefs, coves, and diving hotspots. Not to mention, all your equipment is on board – so you can take a dive whenever you please.

Private Black-Sand Beaches

Imagine dropping anchor in a crystal-clear lagoon. A secluded black-sand beach – shrouded in palm trees and vibrant flowers – beckons you for a day of respite. You spend the day relaxing to a symphony of surf, wind and wildlife, while you feast on Polynesian-inspired eats and cocktails. You and your guests are the only souls for miles.

Sounds like paradise, right?

Well, in Tahiti and French Polynesia, this blissful scene can occur every day on your luxury yacht charter. The French republic is home to 118 islands, including more than 80+ atolls, and many of these islands remain isolated and untouched.

Choose to relax beachside for the day with drinks and a chef-prepared lunch, or ask your captain about other unique, one-of-a-kind jungle adventures. Beyond the beaches, many of French Polynesia’s atolls feature hidden waterfalls, ATV adventures, and panoramic vistas.

Fortunately, you don’t have to plan ahead. Choose your adventure as you go — your captain will make sure you experience the region’s untouched, secluded, and postcard-worthy beaches.

Mouth-Watering Polynesian Cuisine

Fancy yourself a foodie? Well, there’s nothing quite like dining aboard a superyacht. A personal chef is ready to design a Polynesian-inspired menu (with hints of French cooking) that will awaken all the senses. Try Poisson cru, a Tahitian twist on ceviche, featuring lime juice and coconut milk marinated red tuna, that will literally melt in your mouth.

Or sample the region’s exotic fruits like breadfruit, a sweet, starchy fruit unique to the region. (Of course, pineapple, banana, coconut, and fresh seafood are available in abundance in Tahiti, too.)

Want to experience a tasting menu? Or a Tahitian pairing? Let your chef craft a culinary tour of the islands that you’ll remember for ages – and feast on deck as the sunsets.

Plus, your crew can help you explore Tahiti’s numerous five-star eateries when you reach a port of call. Your crew will be happy to offer Tahitian recommendations for fine dining – like L’O à la Bouche, a gourmet eatery serving up unique island dishes – or romantic waterfront restaurants like Le Coco’s. Whatever food is on your mind, your chef will be happy to create or guide you to it.

Tahiti Yacht Charter Reviews

Here are some Tahiti charter reviews from our clients:

We had a magnificent experience on our charter in Tahiti, everything went on smoothly and the vacation was utterly enjoyable. Besides having the whole family together, the week on the yacht was like being in paradise. Climate played on our side, just one shower for 10 minutes more or less.

We had the most AMAZING time in Tahiti.  I have never seen my husband so relaxed and the crew, looked after our every need.  The food prepared by the Chef was so good and we all had a great time with the water sports.   The itinerary was perfect for us and we loved swimming every day in the pristine water at whatever cove we visited. I actually cried as we said goodbye to the crew on our last day.  An unforgettable experience.  A very big thank you to everyone involved. We will definitely be back.

Tahiti boat rentals

Tahiti is one of the islands of the French Polynesia  archipelago, located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean between  Australia and South America. Tahiti is also the largest island of  another one hundred and more islands included in the archipelago. The  most popular sailing itineraries may include the islands of Bora-Bora,  Raiatea, Tahaa, and Huahine. The region boasts absolutely stunning ocean  views, that is why French Polynesia is still considered to be simply a  sailing paradise and the most desired destinations to set sails in  throughout the year. The three above mentioned islands are known as the  famous Leeward Islands of Tahiti, offering some of the most exclusive  sailing facilities in the world one may only dream of.

Sailing in French Polynesia you will be astonished by the number of  islands with different origin. Some of them are formed by volcanic  eruptions and have extremely diverse nature – rivers, lakes, waterfalls,  lagoons, canyons, lush tropical vegetation that cover valleys and  forests, thickets of trees, coconuts and bananas. The others are formed  with corals and have sandy plains covered with palm trees, surrounded by  the smooth surface of the ocean.

Sailing in the Leeward islands of French Polynesia, you may wish to  enjoy snorkelling among those reefs and exploring the magical underwater  world with its inhabitants, or check out a couple of scuba diving  locations. Find out a great number of fish species, spend some  unforgettable time watching sharks, dolphins and turtles - the nature  itself is calling to show you all it has to offer! If you are not much  about it, then you have an extensive choice of water sport activities,  as well as gastronomy and archaeological tours across the islands, when  taking a yacht charter in Tahiti.

Culture and History of Tahiti

Being a cultural centre of French Polynesia, Tahiti has a rich  and interesting historical view with the traditions going back to the  ancient times, dated as 500 year BC. Sailing in Tahiti is somehow can be  compared with exploring the bright legends and myths about the island’s  life.

The main concept of Polynesian life is called Mana. Mana is something  that is not just a list of rules or traditions to follow, it is more  the way of life, the core of the local identity and existence. Every  single being or thing in the Universe is the part of Mana - the  self-concentrated system that is fundamental, harmonic and undisputed.  The main rule of Mana, better say its idea, is to be kind, wise and  generally ‘pure’ - then it is the right way, and Mana lives in you.

In X-V centuries BC these islands were inhabited by MAOI who left  here ancient heritage of their complex civilization. Sanctuaries,  cairns, traditional paintings, tattoos and dances all this reflects  unique culture, religion, and a clear hierarchy of MAOI society all this  you will be able to explore during your sailing vacations in Tahiti.

English captain Samuel Wallis and  French sailor Louis-Antoine de  Bougainville, Cook first discovered these lands in XVII. Original name  "Polynesia" was given by sailors who simply described with this word  "many islands" in the southern sea. These islands are also famous for a  well-known Captain William Blyth, who came here on "Bounty" frigate to  collect breadfruit tree sprouts - food for the slave Caribbean  plantations, but faced for the most incredible rebellion in the history  of seafaring. Polynesian monarch Pomare V gave these lands to France and  starting from 1984 French Polynesia became one of the French overseas  territories, but still has it’s autonomy – President, the Council of  Ministers and the legislative assembly. France is only responsible for  legal, financial and military issues. All guests in airport are greet  with flower necklace made from gardenia, symbol of Tahiti and see off  with a necklace made of shells.

Fortunately connection with Europe did not influence a lot local way  of life. Renting a boat in French Polynesia you will be amazed by the  life that still goes on in its leisurely pace. Here you will drink   coconut water from the cup made of coconut shell and eat from a plate  made of palm fronds.

Sailing in Tahiti

Water and air temperature +20 28C, hospitable people, nice  service, lapping waves, warm sand and the fresh ocean breeze will  delight sailors throughout the year. Picnic on a deserted island with  national dish - Tahitian salad of raw fish under the coconut milk. Songs  with ukulele and dancing in a sunset, swimming with dolphins you can  feed; diving with sharks and rays, visiting black pearl farm, huge  turtles, fishing from shore using a spear – truly unforgettable sailing  vacation in French Polynesia!

18 Polynesian islands spread over 5 archipelagoes where Society  Archipelago is the most popular among sailors. Tahiti, Moorea, Bora  Bora, Huahine are the islands formed on the top of extinct volcanoes,  with high mountains, lush vegetation and lagoons in the shape of crown.

Tahiti is the main island of the archipelago with urban  infrastructure and is developed more than others. Papeete is the capital  with international airport, skyscrapers and luxurious villas in  tropical gardens located under the palm trees. It is a mountainous  island while city and port are guarded by reef. Two islands the Great  and Small Tahiti are connected by a small isthmus.

Moorea Island has a shape in form of heart surrounded by the bronze  surface of the ocean with chain of coral reefs. Here you will find white  sandy beaches, coral, crystal-clear lagoon, a variety of entertainment,  fruit plantations in the mountains. All these beauties attract artists,  jewelers, writers from different countries. In Polynesian Tiki village  you can dive into the real world of locals.

Bora Bora Island  is a lagoon, surrounded by a mountain range with  three peaks. Otemanu is necklace of black pearls - an archipelago of  small coral islands Motu with scenic beauty, ancient temples and  mountains.

Cuisine of Tahiti

Cuisine of Tahiti

Tahitian culinary traditions and history is a discrete topic to  talk about, due to several reasons. One of them may be already the  fact, that this region is called French Polynesia, probably that is why  local cuisine has very much of its so-called French flavour. Besides,  traditions of Polynesian cooking required special methods, techniques  and approaches, for example, using open fire and wood or coal as a fuel,  ideally avoiding cooking with modern cookers and kitchen facilities  like ovens or grillers. Generally, Tahitian menu may include an  extensive list of vegetable-based foods provided in a variety of healthy  and sophisticated fish and meat courses. Be prepared to taste tropical  fruits in the majority of Tahitian dishes and meals. Vegetable and fruit  leaves are often used for wrapping and serving food in Tahiti.  Absolutely, the food of Tahiti is mouth-watering, and you should give it  a try. Below you may wish to find a shortlist of traditional dishes,  commonly served in Tahiti:

Poisson Cru. In French, ‘poisson cru’ means ‘raw fish’. So, as you  may guess, it is the main ingredient of this Tahitian specialty. Poisson  Cru (though called not like this among the locals) is generally  considered to be the national dish of French Polynesia. Basically, it  can be made not only of tuna, as it is supposed to be made, but using a  variety of any other fish. Though only fresh fish is used, it should be  freezed to prevent any risk of bacteria in it.

Ma’a Tahiti. Sailing in French Polynesia, do not miss the chance to  try this authentic local food specialty - ma’a dishes. This is a type of  food (actually, can include whatever: pig, fish, crab or chicken)  cooked with the help of traditional Polynesian oven, often placed right  in the sand among the hot stones, that form a stove.

Considering a yacht charter in Tahiti, please pay attention to the  fact, that the island attracts many travellers all the year round and  remains one of the desired sailing and holiday destinations. If you wish  the true Tahitian culture and celebrations, plan to come in May or  July: at this time you have great chances to try sophisticated local  cuisine and take part in traditional events, which tourists are always  very welcome to.

Weather And Climate In Tahiti

The Island of Tahiti enjoys commonly pleasant and warm climate  with a lot of sunshine. In winter, which is considered to be dry season,  the temperatures are slightly lower, showing the averages around 25°C -  29°C (78°F - 85°F), with more frequent winds. The best time to sail in  Tahiti amy be the period lasting from May to September, when the  easterly winds begin to blow, providing desired cruising conditions.  Mentioning the summer season, it is usually very hot and humid, starting  in November and lasting until the end of March.

Sailing Conditions And Places To Visit in Tahiti

The Leeward Islands of French Polynesia offer a unique yacht  charter destination, that you will most likely never forget. Sail around  the magnificent groups of islands and drop an anchor in the azure  waters of a lagoon. Enjoy inshore navigation and let yourself relax  nearby the beautiful reefs when hopping among the islands

Featuring on all these islands are the well-marked deep turquoise  lagoons that provide smooth inshore sailing, and safe, sheltered havens.  Gaps in the encircling reefs give easy access to blue water and your  next island. The passages are short, but still exciting. Sailing in  Tahiti, you may wish to navigate your itinerary to the islands of  Huahine, Tahaa and, of course, Bora-Bora.

Sailing Tahiti by Private Yacht Is Surprisingly Easy

Yacht charters offer a blend of immersive access, eco-friendly exploration, and luxurious digs..

  • Copy Link copied

Shallow blue waters in French Polynesia with green mountains in background

Small yachts can get you to hard-to-reach coves and inlets.

Waves break onto barrier reefs. Palm trees nod in the morning light. Manta rays lazily cross the sea floor. Drizzle falls while the sun shines, inviting rainbows to gleam in each direction. Then, a mother and newborn humpback whale entrust you to swim with them in the sapphire sea, rolling, surfacing, and communing with you in the deep.

It really is the stuff of dreams, traveling Tahiti via private yacht. And yet somehow—of all the ways a person could explore the 118 islands of French Polynesia—yacht charters can be among the more accessible, too, blending immersive access, eco-savvy exploration, and attainable luxury all in one.

With islands spread across an area equivalent to the land mass of Europe, French Polynesia is best explored little by little, with lots of time to play, one archipelago at a time. The Society Islands provide a perfect jumping off point for maritime adventures. Home to Tahiti International Airport, the country’s main international transit hub, they not only host direct flights from Los Angeles and Auckland on Air Tahiti Nui , but also claim alluring isles such as Bora Bora and Moorea just a puddle-jumper flight—or yacht crossing—away.

The island of Raiatea offers shopping, beaches, and UNESCO World Heritage site Taputapuātea , a basalt- and coral-laden spiritual and political gathering place established as early as 1000 C.E. Neighboring Taha’a was once conjoined with Raiatea, but the volcano that comprised the island collapsed in on itself, creating two separate, smaller islands; the former is known for vanilla plantations , rum distilleries , and pearl farms . A short boat ride away sits Bora Bora , famed for its crystalline lagoon, overwater bungalows, and scenic mountain peaks, formed by an extinct volcano whose fauna-covered caldera now winks down nearly 2,400 feet at the ships moored below.

Navigating Tahiti by boat

Each of these islands is more accessible via charter yacht, with guests boarding their boat, unpacking just once within their comfy-if-quaint two-person cabin , and navigating daily around turquoise-ringed isles from the comfort of their home away from home. Whether the yacht is undertaking a half-hour sail to an unexplored cove on the originating island or navigating a 25-nautical-mile crossing to a nearby isle over the course of a few hours, no additional onshore logistics are required. Thus, instead of throwing time and money at airport transfers, flights, and unpacking and repacking for each island stay, guests are blessed with not only a smaller carbon footprint, but also an abundance of time—and nothing to do but enjoy .

To hop on the yacht charter trend, would-be sailors choose their primary destination, boat size, and whether they want to rent out the entire yacht with friends and family or rent by the cabin instead. Rentals typically range in size from 44 to 82 feet, with popular options including catamarans such as the Fountaine Pajot Ipanema 58 or the Lagoon 620 . With the possibility to include onboard kits containing kayaks, paddleboards, snorkels, masks, and fins, the options for exploration are limited only by one’s sense of adventure and number of (at least semi-) dry swimsuits.

A small yacht in Tahitian waters

There’s nothing quite like jumping in crystal clear waters off the back of a boat.

For our Tahiti adventure, we sailed with Dream Yacht Worldwide , which offers a fleet of more than 900 monohulls and catamarans across over 50 destinations. My group of by-the-cabin renters (including my friend Silver and a series of former strangers who became fast friends) sailed aboard the Lagoon 620 , a 62-foot catamaran offering 6 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, allowing for up to 12 guests. (Depending on your destination and the time of year you sail, the cost of a cabin charter starts at around $1,200 per person for a week-long trip.)

Given that none of us were experienced sailors, we traveled on a fully crewed yacht versus going the “bareboat” route (i.e., sailing the vessel ourselves). Hiring a bareboat charter proves more economical, allowing experienced sailors to undertake all sailing, mooring, cooking, and ship-related duties themselves. Fully crewed options, meanwhile, include a skipper and a “hostess”; although they’re more expensive, they allow guests to simply relax into their surroundings.

We entrusted our knowledgeable local skipper Wen with everything from making safe ocean crossings to finding the best spots to snorkel, capture scenic photographs, and laze along the shores of uninhabited islands. Our hostess, an old-school term for an abundantly modern crew member, did such tasks as cook delicious meals (like lamb curry in puff pastry and mahi mahi in Tahitian vanilla sauce), assist the captain with sailing, and ensure the vessel was shipshape with housekeeping.

As I look back, the notion of sailing the islands of Tahiti via private yacht seems too good to be true. With sunrise swan dives off the stern of our ship, afternoons whale-watching from the top deck, sunset mai tais with newfound friends, and evenings of live entertainment onshore, it all feels like the stuff of dreams. And yet, my camera roll is filled with proof that it all was real, and it can be real for you, too.

Alternate charter options

Also sailing in the South Pacific, Tahiti Yacht Charter rents out 30 French-built catamarans exclusively in French Polynesia, racking up rave reviews on Tripadvisor from everyone from honeymooners to groups of friends. Meanwhile, Myst Yacht Charters boasts thousands of rentals around the world, earning similarly high marks for both the quality of its vessels and its committed customer service.

Tahiti Yacht Charter: the ultimate in luxury yacht chartering

When you're searching for the best way to see all that Tahiti has to offer, there's no better choice than a yacht charter. Whether you're looking for a secluded romantic getaway or want to party with friends and family, we have the perfect yacht for your needs.

All of our yachts are equipped with fans, open cockpits, and spacious decks that provide tropical cruises out of this world! And relaxation and pleasure are our on-board priorities. For those looking for a more romantic experience, we recommend our Grande croisière specification complete with generator and water maker.

From the yachts shown below, the Lagoon 40 and Lucia 40 are the ones recommended for parties of 2-4 passengers based on capacity and pricing.

LAGOON 40 CATAMARAN

While faithful to the image of Lagoon’s “DNA”, this catamaran adopts a new style, forming a refined and high-performance unit.

The cockpit looks out to sea to welcome a starboard recreation area with a dining table, and seating at the rear beam.

Large aft transoms with a spacious swim platform, allowing simple access to the tender and safe, easy boarding. The ergonomic helm station is accessible from the cockpit or deck, ensuring continuous communication between the skipper and his crew. Inside, a particular attention given to volume layout, smooth flow of circulation and luminosity makes this new interior a truly pleasant living area.

Large hull window glazing with integrated portholes in the cabin provide exceptional natural light and an outstanding view.

LUICA 40 CATAMARAN

Comfortable and efficient, this catamaran is the first 40 feet to have 4 toilet/showers.

Actually, the Lucia 40 has been made to offer a 40 feet’s unprecedented living space. The inside is cozy and bright thanks to its design close to a house’s one, made with modern materials and large window glasses. Outside, the foredeck has a sun lounger in addition to the trampolines, the rear deck offers an L bench seat and the cockpit a better protection against the sun with a rigid bimini.

MAHE 36 CATAMARAN

Outside, a completely rigid bimini, made of RTM, accommodates a spacious double helm station, with the main sail traveler now mounted on top.

Its spacious cockpit is well-protected from rain and sun. Free of obstacle, the cockpit and deck are also much safer and benefit from the addition of two new aft rails.

Inside, the living-room features exceptional room for a boat of this size. On the port side, the chart table, with its host of state-of-the-art electronics, is easily accessible and ergonomically designed.

The cabins offer queen-size aft cabin beds and large port-holes that provide beautiful natural light. The bathroom, at the front, is particularly spacious with 2 meters length, and modern decoration. The Mahe 36 is available in version 3 cabins and 1 toilet/shower or in version 2 cabins and 2 toilet/showers.

LAGOON 42 CATAMARAN

The powerful and dynamic nature of the Lagoon 42 is marked by its elegant silhouette, flowing curves which, by virtue of a noticeable acceleration of the lines in the bows and in the new coachroof design.

The space provided between the single-level saloon, the aft crossbeam and the various sunbathing areas is unprecedented on this size of boat. With aft platforms and steps suspended and widened, the transom skirts create a new space for leisure and relaxation. Very appreciable at bathing time.

The large glazed door that occupies the entire width of the coachroof provides access to the unparalleled internal volumes.

At the coachroof bulkhead, the ergonomic helming station is designed to facilitate maneuvering with reduced crew, improve traffic and open direct access to the deck and the cockpit.

SABA 50 CATAMARAN

The Saba 50 offers exceptional relaxation area for an optimal comfort during both sailing time and anchorage.

The outside is composed by a large reardeck equiped with many bench seats, a lounge deck close to the cockpit, and a real sun lounger on the foredeck. The catamaran has been made at the idea of an easy flow between all of these areas.

Moreover, it runs on self-efficiency at anchor thanks to solar panels.

Are you currently planning a Vacation or Honeymoon to Bora Bora and Tahiti? Or, do you just have questions about the destination? Either way, we can help.

When you commission your private voyage through Venture Tahiti and Tahiti Yacht Charter, your culinary preferences are not forgotten.  In addition to your English-speaking Skipper, you will be accompanied on your private charter by a hostess who will also prepare all of your meals.  Prior to your trip, your Venture Tahiti Concierge will contact you and ask you to share your preferences for food and drink.  Your hostess will accommodate any food allergies or special diets as well.

All of your meals (continental breakfast, lunch and dinner) are included during your cruise, with the exception of lunch on your first and last days.  Your included dining will commence with dinner on the day you embark and end with a continental breakfast on your final day.  Juice and hot drinks are included with your continental breakfast.  However, drinking water and other drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cruise) are not included in your package pricing.  You will have the opportunity to have the galley stocked with your favorite cocktails, liquor, beer, wine, water, and soft beverages as well.  A price list which is generally about 10% higher than local supermarket pricing will be presented to you when you are asked for your cuisine preferences.

Your private yacht experience through Venture Tahiti is a never ending “excursion”.  However, there are many opportunities for additional land and water-based activities along the way.  On your voyage, you will have the opportunity to swim in magnificent lagoons (with sharks and rays, should you choose to).  You can also take advantage of the included sea kayak or stand-up paddle boarding equipment, floating hammocks, snorkeling gear, and maybe even a sunset cruise (weather allowing).  These non-motorized experiences are included in the price of your charter.

For an additional charge, there will be local options depending on your choice of itinerary, including shopping on Huahine, touring a vanilla plantation on Taha’a, or visiting the Bora Bora’s Lagoonarium to see additional aquatic life.  If you choose an itinerary featuring Bora Bora, you may even desire to schedule a massage at the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort’s famous Thalasso Spa.

All our boats have 4 double cabins and 2 or 4 bathrooms, depending on the model. They can take up to 10 guests. The “Classic” types are much appreciated by families and groups of friends and represent an excellent value-for-money. Our “Grande Croisière” models, equipped with generator, air conditioning and water maker, are ideal for sailing in the Tuamotu, where there are water shortages. The standard of comfort is that of a home. We organize private cruises, with or without crew, for couples or more. The only other persons on board will be your crew and they know how to make themselves unobtrusive whenever it is appropriate.

The Deck Plan shown is for the Lagoon 40.

I truly recommend DYC as a great charter company with great offers and excellent fleet all around the world

Unsafe yacht

I chartered a 52 ft yacht in Antigua and it was unfit for purpose and potentially dangerous. There was an extensive list of faults which ruined our holiday, including a windlass that did not operate, an anchor that did not swivel, reefing lines jammed in the boom and hazardous swim ladder. The yacht also lacked basic appliances, had a hole in the kettle and missing fire extinguishers. This is an accident waiting to happen. I could go on… Dream yachts refused to even acknowledge my emails and sent no apologies. Avoid them at all cost.

Dream Yacht in Grenada

We were aware that we were renting an older - 7 yr old boat that had been all over the place. In the Charter world the 3 year old boats are hard used. We did an older bareboat primarily for the lower price and knew there would be some issues but they usually don’t cause much trouble for a seasoned crew. The boat had a great refrigeration system, lots of cookware, good charts, nice windlass, and staff provided us with new cockpit chair cushioning and French press as we are Americans who like that sort of thing. It was a typical used boat with stuff that is used. Staff was very responsive to problems with mooring balls (not DYC’s fault) and difficulty with dinghy engine starts (we just had to acclimate to a coy Mercury). We like the people, and the boat was as is to be expected. We spent around 5 grand a week for a full 3 staterooms. We were happy. We enjoyed the captain’s meeting and received many good suggestions on where to go. Remember always swim your mooring ball - we were adrift and on the rocks due to a defective mooring ball. DYC is where you want to go if you are seasoned and want to spend most of your time in the water or at the beach.

DYC makes it really easy to charter

DYC makes it really easy to charter a bareboat sailing vacation. Having done a dozen trips with the competition in BVI, Bahamas, Greece, Italy, etc I feel more confident in Dream's ability to get you on a high quality boat on time and in good condition. When they missed the boat (pun intended) in one situation, they were also gracious about admitting fault and offering a credit to future trips. I especially want to call out Savannah Collins on the American sales team who was a joy to work with over the phone. Thanks for everything Savannah!

Dream Yacht Charter Raiatea Bora Bora

We had a blast on a 5-days trip around Raiatea, Taha’a & Bora Bora. Conditions were exceptional so was the crew. We had a beautiful and confortable catamaran for the 7 of us with plenty of space. The crew was super friendly and knowledgeable bringing us to beautiful snorkelling and cultural places around the different islands. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!

Unfortunately disappointing (Abacos)

Unfortunately our 3rd tour with DYC was disappointing. The captain was disinterested, rude and barely present. The Abacos are still worth seeing - with a different crew. Despite our feedback, Dream Yacht Charter didn't get in touch. Bad customer service for us. We sailed the last time. Well, we hardly sailed.

No Dream in Dream yacht Charter

This was my worst vacation. We bare boated and the boat broke down, for 5 days we were stuck in a marina, while the boat was repaired and DYC has refused to do anything. these additional costs, we didn't plan for, and we lost a huge part of our vacation. before you book with them, try getting a hold of the base in the Bahamas, or a supervisor or someone who deals with complaints or refunds. Aside from sales/customer service (booking) you wont get past the iron curtain!

Horrendous Experience - Took ALL our money and no holiday

Horrendous Experience Dream Yacht Charters cancelled our holiday before the departure date due to Covid—19 lockdown in UK & Greece BUT then refused to return a single penny We lost the entire amount we paid - 100% of the holiday price They just ripped us off They are NOT ABTA either Do NOT use them under any circumstances

Dodging any issues.

We lost one day of our charter due to our freshwater being pumped into the starboard engine bilge whose bilge pump was not working and consequently filled up with water , at one point we thought we were sinking ! We returned to base as we had no water and no way of keeping it in the tanks even if we could have refilled. In another incedent in a torrential downpour a fixed cabin window leaked and destroyed my laptop. The reply from DYC main office was less than helpful. The laptop destruction was our fault as we put it in the wrong place and the lost day was ignored. Be very carefull when dealing with the main office they seem only to want to dodge any issues which involve any sort of refund.

First experience with DYW and first…

First experience with DYW and first time with DY Croatia. Preparation and briefing with the service team in US was so thorough that when I got to Dubrovnik ACI Marina everything run smoothly. No hidden costs, everything very transparent. We took a skipper who happened to be top notch, a local celebrity. Trip was excellent in all respects but we had little wind and we had to motor most of the time: next time I will make sure we reserve minimum guaranteed winds of 15 knots LOL

Fantastic experience all round

Fantastic experience once again delivered by Dream Yacht Charters in the UK. Transparent pricing from the start and excellent value. Could not believe that the insurance indemnity was included in the price! Lorraine could not have worked harder to guide us on location and yachts to suit our needs. Any questions were dealt with quickly and professionally. The yacht we chartered met with our expectations and I have no doubt that had we experienced any difficulties at the base, Lorraine would have done her utmost to sort. Thank you for such a first class service. We will continue to charter from Dream Yacht Charters without reservation

Very bad experience chapter 2

After having the bad experience described in my post of 04/11/2022 (see below Title "Very bad experience") Dream Yacht Charter asked me filling the form bit.lydreamyacht I filled in the form on 20/11/2022 but I never got a reply... If no compensation is soon accepted, after discussion with a lawyer, I plan a legal action. The complaint will be located in France. I also propose sharing the practical information (submit of a complaint to the court, steps...) for French customers wishing running a legal complaint. Cabin charter in Corsica South cancelled with no explanation

Booked and paid last May a cruise (cabin charter) in Corsica South for the w/c Aug 7 (2 cabins); two weeks before the start of the vacation (overall 2 weeks with trips to Paris and Bordeaux already booked), my cruise was cancelled for "overbooking". Despite several attempts to get an explanation, an excuse or a counteroffer, no one from both DYC Italy nor DYC.com replied so far (after a month). I'm very very disappointed for this, especially because I was a DYC client since years (5 cruises so far). While I want to thank Mondovela, the Italian DYC agency, for providing me with a backup solution in Sardinia, saving at least partially my summer holidays. P.N.

Date of experience : August 26, 2021

Hi Piero Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear about your issues booking with us. At the time your booking was made we were in the process of migrating our reservation system and your booking was received on our old system which resulted in an overbooking of the cruise. We were in touch with your broker and proposed alternative dates and destinations which unfortunately did not work. We are so pleased they found an alternative solution for you. We hope you will return to us so we can show you how our booking process has improved. Best wishes the Dream Yacht Charter team

RUN away from DYC

Run, do not walk, away from these people. "Dream" Yacht Charter should be "Nightmare" Yacht Charter. We had the misfortune to give them a deposit for a charter in Tahiti before Covid hit. While other travel industry companies tried to be reasonable, DYC continually tried to squeeze us (like initially demanding full payment far in advance of our charter that never happened.) I understand Covid was hard for everyone, but the way these people jerked us around, changed the rules, made unreasonable demands, is just too much. Eventually my group decided we would rather lose our deposit rather than give these people another dollar of our money. You have been warned.

Date of experience : May 12, 2021

Dear Mike H, Thank you for your feedback. Hearing about your customer experience helps us understand where we need to improve. This year has been a challenge for many in the tourism industry. We adjusted our booking policy to try and make it as flexible as possible and we are sorry your booking was impacted. Best wishes, the Dream Yacht Charter team

Nightmare Yacht Charter

My husband and I, and several of our friends, recently returned from a trip with Dream Yacht Charter. (see full review at tripadvisor.com as this site limits length) Overall: service was terrible. Captain and crew were unprofessional, and abandoned the guests on the boat, which was unsafe. Captain would leave the boat unmanned for hours at a time, not returning until 3am.Captain and stew arguing in front of guests. Stew quit on us mid charter. Generator broke. We had no AC and limited clean water so we were told we could not shower. Food was not good. We spend our own money for provisions. Company will not make this right and refuses to offer us a reasonable compensation for a terrible experience. Stay far far away from this company. Kelsey D. Canton, OH, USA

Date of experience : May 27, 2023

Hello Kelsey, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re so sorry to hear that your boat did not meet your expectations and fell below our standards. We see that your complaint has already been addressed by our customer experience team, and has been settled. Still, learning about your situation helps us understand where we need to improve and allows us to prevent it from happening again. Thank you for letting us know, the Dream Yacht team

Sailboat Chartered in Tortola in Horrible Condition

The captain was great but the boat was in total disrepair. The generator never worked, the toilet either did not work or worked poorly, the furniture down below was taped together with yellow tape, the ladder was dangerous etc. For all the money we spent to rent this boat we should be treated better

Date of experience : February 15, 2022

Great charter with Dream Yacht in St John

Had a great bareboat charter sailing around St John out of St Thomas with Dream Yacht Charter in a brand new Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40. Thanks to Dawn Fingers and the rest of the team for helping to accommodate our last minute booking. Highlights were Zozo’s at Caneel Bay and Cruz Bay. We’ve booked bareboat charter with Dream Yacht a number of times in the past and have they seem to be the best outfit in terms of boat maintenance and professionalism.

Hello Colin, Thank you for your wonderful review. We're glad you had a great time with us in the USVI and we will pass your review to our team :) We look forward to seeing you again soon with pleasure. The Dream Yacht Charter team.

Fantastic Charter - Great Trogir Base Manager and Staff

We chartered a 45ft catamaran. Boat was in excellent shape and we had no issues. Well equipped with chart book, extra propane and all other amenities. Base staff was super friendly and helpful and always asked us if everything was ok or if we needed anything when we passed them on dock. Base manager Tommi was super friendly and engaging, ensuring all of our needs were met and also took the time to suggest ports as well as booking slips for us. What a fabulous country and superb charter!

New to charter?

The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is due at the time of the final charter payment. Under MYBA terms, this sum is usually equivalent to 30 per cent of the total charter fee, but may be up to 40 per cent in some cases.

Intended to cover the operating expenses of a charter as explained under Charter Terms, such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees and ad hoc incidentals, the APA will be given to the captain before the start of your charter. The Captain will ensure that the yacht is fully fuelled and provisioned when you step on board. While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise. If, during the charter, the expenditure exceeds the sum already paid, additional cash funds will be required at once.

All outstanding bills from the yacht charter should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before your final disembarkation. Of course, any remaining credit at the end of your charter will be reimbursed to you in full. On request, transfer arrangements to and from the yacht can be made by Burgess or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.
