When you charter a yacht in Phuket, your voyage extends far beyond the island itself. Accommodations Near the Marina
While there are limited accommodations close to the marina, Nai Yang beach, a five-minute drive from the airport, offers excellent resorts, condominium-style lodging, and a long sandy beach with affordable beachside dining options. It’s an ideal choice for those staying the night before their charter.
Getting to Yacht Charter Base in Phuket
Arriving at the Island Spirit Base on Phuket is convenient. A 20-minute taxi ride from Phuket International Airport takes you to Yacht Haven Marina. Taxis are readily available on the island, and if preferred, your Charter Coordinator can pre-arrange transportation when booking your charter.
Flying To Phuket
The quickest and safest way to reach the Island Spirit Base is to fly to Phuket International Airport (HKT), the country’s second busiest. It accommodates international and domestic flights, providing convenient access to Phuket from various countries.
Overland Options
For those preferring overland travel, luxury tour-buses from Bangkok offer economical overnight trips, providing comfort with aircraft-like seating and onboard facilities. Trains, buses, and alternative travel methods are also available, offering diverse options for exploring Thailand.
Getting to Phuket By Train
The closest train station is Phun Phin station in Surat Thani Province. From there, a five-hour bus journey takes you to Phuket. Train enthusiasts may find this an appealing option with separate dining carriages and first-class cabins converting to sleeping quarters.

Once you confirm your reservation, your broker will process your payment.
- If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
- If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
- If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.
Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

Known as the Pearl of the Andaman Sea, Phuket is one of the many islands within close proximity to Phang Nga Bay. Most Phuket yacht charters will have snacks and drinks on board and offer picnics on the beach under the shade of a palm tree. However, if picnics do not interest you, don’t worry as there are many islands with resorts and restaurants. Just talk to the charter staff before you head out and this can be arranged, or try one of the many local shack style restaurants that have popped up on some of the islands.
