Sources say Google billionaire Larry Page has sold his $45 million superyacht

• The Google cofounder Larry Page purchased Senses in 2011 for $45 million.
• The sale was confirmed by a general manager overseeing refit work on the vessel in New Zealand.
• Page has since downsized to at least one other smaller yacht, which has been seen moored in Fiji.

The reclusive Google cofounder Larry Page has spent months during the pandemic enjoying Fiji's beautiful islands, but there's one thing he's not had with him: his famous superyacht, Senses.

Page has sold the boat, which came complete with helipad and private beach club , to an unknown new owner. The sale was confirmed by Phil Redpath, the general manager of Integrated Marine Group, which has been doing refit work on the vessel in New Zealand.

Another person, in Fiji, told Insider Page no longer owned the yacht. The exact date of the sale could not be confirmed, but the person said Page had plans to sell the yacht as far back as 2019. The person asked not to be identified because they'd worked with Page's team in the past and were not authorized to speak with the media. A Google spokesperson declined to comment, and Page didn't respond to emails seeking comment.

Page purchased Senses from the New Zealand businessman Arthur Douglas Myers for $45 million in 2011 — the same year his Google cofounder Sergey Brin snapped up his own $80 million superyacht, Dragonfly.

Page has spent several months in Fiji during the pandemic, along with his family and an entourage, according to people who have seen him there . Since selling Senses, the former Google CEO has downsized to a smaller yacht that has been spotted in Fiji over the past year, two of those people said, but it's possible Page has other vessels.

He might be at risk of falling behind other tech billionaires in the superyacht race. The Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has commissioned a 127-meter custom yacht from the Dutch shipbuilder Oceanco, according to an excerpt from Brad Stone's new book, "Amazon Unbound," that was published in Bloomberg Businessweek in May. It's so big, it has a smaller support yacht. Oracle's Larry Ellison and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt also own huge vessels .

Page's whereabouts since stepping away from Google in 2019 have been largely a mystery. He and Brin still control the company and its parent, Alphabet, through special voting shares. But despite the occasional appearance from Brin — and the odd phone call with CEO Sundar Pichai — the two have been mostly uninvolved with the company.

The interior of Senses is designed to be a luxurious respite from the possibly harsh environs outside: created by Martin Francis, the unique, harmonious interior combines spectacular woods with soft cream furnishings, all accented by the incredible works of art from the owner’s spectacular private collection.

Motor yacht Senses is able to accommodate 12 guests in one master’s suite, two double staterooms and two twin cabins, as well as the option to convert the gym into an additional twin accommodation with en-suite bathroom. All guests and Owner’s suites are located on the lower deck for maximum comfort with the Owner’s full beam stateroom lying aft and amidships. A double door leading to the Owner’s lobby lies forward of the Owner’s suite, while on the starboard side of the Owner’s suite is a sitting area with a separate sitting and office area directly opposite. Huge opening windows flood the Owner’s suite with natural light and exquisite views while underway. A king-size bed lies central to an entertainment centre, with the lovely addition of his and hers bathrooms, as well as a dressing room. Identical twin cabins with a desk, entertainment centre, sofa and en-suite bathroom with tub and twin sinks lies forward while further aft there are two identical king-size staterooms each with a desk, entertainment centre, sofa and en-suite bathroom with tub and twin sinks. Every guest cabin comes equipped with a TV, VCR and CD stereo.

Other notable features of Senses include a Jacuzzi, gymnasium, sauna and steam room and helipad, while systems include satellite television, zero-speed stabilisers, Satcom and cellular communications, internet access and a Sanyo multi-large screen projector.

Active guests will adore Senses’ onboard arsenal of toys which include two 3 man Yamaha wave runners, two stand up Yamaha single man wave runners, six full sets of dive gear, a dive compressor, water skis and tows, snorkelling gear and three kayaks. The tender collection includes a twelve metre Nelson enclosed launch, seven metre semi-rigid inflatable rib, eight metre classic L Francis Herreshoff sloop, five metre Hobie wave cat and a seven metre Grady fishing boat.

Senses Yacht: “Senses 07 hull no.1 sold”

The first unit of the Senses 07 has been sold and, by early 2022, we will see the fibreglass hull mould ready. The new creature by Senses Yacht, without mincing words, looks fantastic just by looking at the renderings. Great design. At least as far as the exteriors are concerned, designed by Ceccarelli Yacht Design , whose pencil thought up the Senses 07 for displacement sailing at up to 15 knots and planing at around 24.

Added to this is a truly superior grammar of interior spaces. The innovative positioning of the engine room (where two Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950 engines are installed) is located below the huge aft platform, which is also accessible through a hatch and, in case of emergency, from the saloon on the lower deck.

Sea, aft beach-area and saloon on the same level

The beach area is so large that it could be described as the apex of the lower deck. It’s also ‘ready to furnish’, it’s looking for furnishings and wants to be lived in. To all intents and purposes it is the terrace of the lower deck, where once the large sliding window has been opened it creates a unique space with the saloon. To get a clearer idea: imagine the terrace of a suite culminating in the sea just separated from the shoreline. The added value is that the owner and his guests can live right next to the sea on a single level. This is a rare combination of special benefits that are an exception to competitors.

The spectacle continues and can be accessed from the two stairs leading from the beach area to the main deck . The latter is a strong expression of an intentionality that goes beyond fashion and is very daring. This is the principle of an open deck, but it can also be customized in a fully windowed cockpit version.

But, as we were saying, the main deck is wide open because the idea is to offer a boat that offers an intense sail feeling while combining technical and aesthetic aspects in its profile, perhaps vaguely inspired by those of a trawler. The concept of the boat mediates between the relaxing pleasure of displacement sailing and the beauty of the wide deck lines that even recall those of a sailing cruiser. An ingenious combination. This can also be seen from the boat’s bow, and a closer look inside reveals the volume of a spacious deck, free of obstacles but well served with all the comforts the owner desires.

The Senses 07 is the first project in a range conceived last year and destined to expand in size (and smaller). These are the rumours circulating at Senses Yacht, a project conceived by Mauro Corvisieri, former owner of Custom Yachts, who explains that he has envisaged “several versions” of the Senses 07 layout, with either a covered main deck or an entirely open one and three or even four guest cabins, all located on the lower deck.

What’s remarkable about this 70-footer is that the experience also brought by Custom Yacht has given it superyacht DNA and it’s ultra-customisable. Mauro Corvisieri points out that the Senses 07 we’re talking about “is hyper-customized and will be delivered as early as October 2022” .

The Senses that has already been sold has three cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms and showers. The owner’s cabin in the bow boasts a huge head that increases privacy. Designed this way, the cabin is totally separate from the crew cabin, which in turn has two berths. There are nine berths in total and the cabins all enjoy a flush view of the sea , which contributes to the great natural lighting.

Yes, because even the deck offers light to the lower deck through skylights designed for this effect. For its part, the hard-top is large and well-balanced symmetrically in the stern and bow sections, and generates “filtering” volume through the windows below. But, we repeat, the actual idea is that of an ‘open’ boat to stay more in contact with the marine environment during the summer seasons. The owner likes her so much that he envisages her being used for cruises of 30 to 80 nautical miles in the Mediterranean . However, Senses 07 has been designed and equipped with technical features and autonomy that are also useful for longer cruises.

Here are just a few of the features we would like to anticipate from the Senses 07 that will be sold: she will be equipped with a transponder for launching the tender, and she will not be fitted with a gyroscope but with a much lighter stabilizer in order to improve displacement by depriving it of at least 1,700 kilograms of weight. The whole project is purely Made in Italy and it would seem that the generators chosen are also Italian-made. But we’ll keep you informed as soon as we see the mould.

Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly gifted himself a $300 million megayacht, dubbed “Launchpad,” ahead of his 40th birthday.

The staggering 387-foot-long vessel was seen floating at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after arriving at its berth earlier this week, The Sun reported Thursday.

The multi-layered luxury ship’s sleek exterior was designed by Espen Øino International and boasts a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, according to SuperYacht Times.

Reportedly ranking as the 45th largest yacht in the world, the interiors are just as aesthetically pleasing and reportedly executed by Zuretti Interior Design company, a France-based company specializing in unique and custom yacht design.

The breathtakingly beautiful floater stands out with a navy blue theme matching an American flag perched proudly on its wood-paneled stern.

There are several outdoor areas where the social media maven will be able to relax with his family and the indoor levels feature glass paneling allowing for tons of natural light.

Boatworld insiders have been buzzing with speculation that Zuckerberg is the owner of the newly minted mega-cruise ever since it made its main voyage from the Netherlands last week.

The tech titan was spotted touring the Russian-commissioned megayacht in early March, though the impressive boat didn’t arrive stateside until this week due to sanctions, according to The Sun.

The website reported that Zuckerberg purchased the pricey yacht – along with its own $30 million partner boat — most likely as an early 40th birthday present to himself.

The boat reportedly traveled to Florida after being granted special permission to be imported just weeks ahead of Zuckerberg’s birthday on May 14.

Zuckerberg’s yacht is just 30 feet shorter than the length of fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos’ 417-foot megayacht Koru, which the Amazon boss snagged for a whopping $500 million.

Zuckerberg’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
