Vedder Finest Interior acquires Loher Raumexklusiv

The long-established company Vedder GmbH in Lüdinghausen has acquired its previous competitor, Loher Raumexklusiv GmbH from Wallersdorf / Lower Bavaria, which had to file for provisional insolvency proceedings in mid March.

Vedder, which has currently 125 members of staff and belongs to an internationally focused group, is specialised in the high-quality interior furnishing of luxury yachts and residences worldwide.

Since 3rd June, Vedder Munich GmbH, founded by Vedder GmbH Lüdinghausen, has commenced the business activities in Wallersdorf. In the course of an asset deal, essential parts of the business equipment and the employees were acquired. Vedder Munich

GmbH forms another facility of Vedder GmbH. It is managed by the same executives as in Lüdinghausen.

The expertise of both companies merges in the existing brand Vedder Finest Interior to a new strong unit with high competence, significantly enlarged capacity and an enhanced range of services, by adding the fit out of private aircrafts to the current portfolio of fitting out yachts and residences. All necessary certifications are currently transferred to the new company.

The number of employees of both companies adds up to approx. 300. The production area covers approx. 20.000 m2.  Both locations have excellent technical equipment. With this measure, Vedder supports its strategic aim, to satisfy the rising expectations regarding manufacturing and service ability.

The new managing directors, Nicolas Held, Ludger Dohm and Stefan Radau have said, “We rely on a first-class team, the innovative competency and on the common high standard to provide a quality service.”

Das Lüdinghauser Traditionsunternehmen Vedder, das sich um den hochwertigen Gebäude- und Yachtausbau kümmert, hat das Konkurrenzunternehmen Loher aus Niederbayern übernommen. Loher war in Insolvenz geraten. Beide Firmen verfügen über einen 300-köpfigen Mitarbeiter-Stamm.

Beim Ausbau gediegener Wohnungen und Geschäftslokale hat die Firma Vedder schon seit Jahren einen Namen. Demnächst geht das Lüdinghauser Traditionsunternehmen auch in die Luft: Das bisherige Tätigkeitsfeld könnte in absehbarer Zeit um den Innenausbau von Privatjets erweitert werden. Das geht zumindest aus einer Presseerklärung des Unternehmens hervor. Anlass zu dieser Zukunftsvision: Das Lüdinghauser Unternehmen übernahm die Firma Loher Raumexklusiv GbmH aus Wallersdorf in Niederbayern. Das ehemalige Konkurrenzunternehmen wurde nach der Insolvenz von Vedder „geschluckt“.

Im März war das süddeutsche Unternehmen in die Insolvenz geraten. „Loher Raumexklusiv“ hatte sich – ähnlich wie auch Vedder – auf den hochwertigen und luxuriösen Innenausbau spezialisiert. Das Lüdinghauser Unternehmen betrachtet darüber hinaus den Ausbau von Yachten und Schiffen zu seinem Kernsegment.

Der Betrieb in Süddeutschland hatte rund 220 Mitarbeiter beschäftigt. Der größte Teil soll übernommen werden, schreibt die Landauer Neue Presse.

Seit vier Wochen hat die vom Lüdinghauser Unternehmen gegründete „Veddere Munich GmbH“ den Geschäftsbetrieb in Wallersdorf aufgenommen. „Die Leistungen beider Unternehmen verschmelzen in der bestehenden Marke ,Vetter finest Interior‘“, wie es in der Erklärung heißt. Wesentliche Teile der Geschäftsausstattung und des Personals in Wallersdorf wurden übernommen, heißt es in der Presseerklärung von Vedder. „Vedder Munich“ bilde so einen weiteren Standort der „Vedder GmbH.“ Die Geschäftsführung in beiden Unternehmen haben Ludger Dohm, Nicolas Held und Stefan Radau übernommen. „Wir bauen auf die erstklassige Mannschaft, die innovative Kompetenz und auf den gemeinsamen, übereinstimmenden hohen Qualitätsanspruch“, werden die Geschäftsführer zitiert. Der neue Unternehmensverbund verfügt nun insgesamt über 300 Mitarbeiter. Die Produktionsfläche umfasst etwa 20 000 Quadratmeter. Beide Standorte verfügen über hochwertige Ausstattungen.

82 Millionen Euro hat die Vedder GmbH im vergangenen Jahr umgesetzt. Das Unternehmen hat sich auf den hochwertigen Yachtausbau spezialisiert. Zur Kundschaft gehören arabische Scheichs, osteuropäische Oligarchen und amerikanische Milliardäre.

Zu ihrer Kundschaft wollen die beiden Vedder-Geschäftsführer Marc Koch und Stefan Radau nicht viel sagen. Nur das: „An 40 von den 100 größten Yachten auf der Welt haben wir mitgearbeitet.“ Ihre Kundschaft wolle – und solle – anonym bleiben. Verschwiegenheit sei ein Geschäftsprinzip in diesem Segment, betont Radau. Beim Blick auf die Referenzliste auf der Vedder-Homepage wird klar, wer dazu zählt: osteuropäische Oligarchen, arabische Scheichs und amerikanische Superreiche. Einen Kunden aus Deutschland gebe es auch, so Koch.

Das 1899 in Lüdinghausen als Familienbetrieb gegründete Unternehmen hat sich schon vor Jahren im Bereich des hochwertigen Yachtausbaus etabliert. 82 Millionen Euro wurden im vergangenen Jahr an den beiden Standorten Lüdinghausen und im bayrischen Wallersdorf umgesetzt. „Wir beschäftigen mittlerweile 360 Mitarbeiter“, sagt Radau. Der 53-Jährige hat selbst vor über zwei Jahrzehnten als Schreiner in dem Betrieb angefangen.

Neben dem handwerklichen Ausbau neuer Luxusschiffe ist Vedder auch im sogenannten Refit-Bereich – dem Um- und Ausbau bestehender Yachten – tätig. Seit einiger Zeit werden aber auch Residenzen – Villen, Hotels, Bankgebäude – gestaltet sowie Privatjets mit edlem Interieur ausgestattet.

Neben den beiden Produktionsstandorten in der Steverstadt und in Bayern unterhält Vedder eine Dependance in Barcelona, und demnächst wird eine in La Ciotat an der südfranzösischen Riviera eröffnet. Ein Vertriebsbüro gibt es zudem in den USA. Regelmäßig sei das Unternehmen auf der alljährlich im Februar stattfindenden Dubai International Boat Show und der Monaco Yacht Show im September vertreten, erklärt Radau die internationalen Aktivitäten des Schiffsausstatters.

Die Auftragslage beschreibt Mitgeschäftsführer Koch als sehr gut. So dass „auch langfristig mit sehr positiven Ergebnissen“ zu rechnen sei. Diese Situation hat einen eigenen Effekt auf das Betriebsgelände an der Lüdinghauser Industriestraße. „Wir platzen aus allen Nähten“, umreißt Koch die Lage. Und so sind die Geschäftsführer tätig – und fündig – geworden. So wurde der ehemalige Sitz des Möbelhauses Chalet an der Lindenstraße angemietet. Nach der Renovierung sollen dort die Bereiche technische Verwaltung und die Arbeitsvorbereitung auf rund 1000 Quadratmetern Platz finden. „Damit schaffen wir Freiraum für die Produktion“, sagt Radau. Mittlerweile betreibt das Unternehmen, das seit 2009 zur Depa Gruppe in Dubai gehört, eine eigene Forschungs- und Entwicklungsabteilung. Dort werden neue Werkstoffe wie Blähglas – ein Granulat – getestet.

New modification of Russian VVER-440 fuel loaded at Paks NPP in Hungary

DECEMBER 14, 2020 — After the recent refueling at power unit 3 of the Hungarian Paks NPP, its VVER-440 reactor has been loaded with a batch of fresh fuel including 18 fuel bundles of the new modification. The new fuel will be introduced at all four operating power units of the Paks NPP, and the amount of new-modification bundles in each refueling will be increased gradually.

Development of the new VVER-440 fuel modification was completed in 2020 under the contract between TVEL JSC and MVM Paks NPP Ltd. Its introduction would optimize the hydro-uranium ratio in the reactor core, enabling to increase the efficiency of fuel usage and advance the economic performance of the power plant operation. All VVER-440 fuel modifications are manufactured at the Elemash Machine-Building Plant, a facility of TVEL Fuel Company in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

“Introduction of a new fuel is an option to improve technical and economic performance of a nuclear power plant without substantial investment. We are actively engaged in development of new models and modifications of VVER-440 fuel for power plants in Europe. The projects of the new fuels for Loviisa NPP in Finland, Dukovany NPP in the Czech Republic, Mochovce and Bohunice NPPs in Slovakia, are currently at various stages of implementation. Despite the same reactor model, these projects are quite different technically and conceptually, since we take into account the individual needs and requirements of our customers,” commented Natalia Nikipelova, President of TVEL JSC.

The project of development and validation of the new fuel has been accomplished with participation of a number of Russian nuclear industry enterprises, such as OKB Gidropress (a part of Rosatom machine-building division Atomenergomash), Bochvar Institute (material science research facility of TVEL Fuel Company), Elemash Machine-building plant and Kurchatov Institute national research center. At the site of OKB Gidropress research and experiment facility, the new fuel passed a range of hydraulic, longevity and vibration tests.

Paks NPP is the only functioning nuclear power plant in Hungary with total installed capacity 2000 MWe. It operates four similar units powered by VVER-440 reactors and commissioned one by one in 1982-1987. Currently, Paks NPP is the only VVER-440 plant in the world operating in extended 15-monthes fuel cycle. The power plant produces about 15 bln kWh annually, about a half of electric power generation in Hungary. In 2018, the project of increasing the duration of Paks NPP fuel cycle won the European competition Quality Innovation Award in the nomination “Innovations of large enterprises”. Russian engineers from TVEL JSC, Kurchatov Institute, OKB Gidropress, Bochvar Institute and Elemash Machine-building plant provided assistance to the Hungarian colleagues in accomplishment of the project.

  TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom incorporates enterprises for the fabrication of nuclear fuel, conversion and enrichment of uranium, production of gas centrifuges, as well as research and design organizations. It is the only supplier of nuclear fuel for Russian nuclear power plants. TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom provides nuclear fuel for 73 power reactors in 13 countries worldwide, research reactors in eight countries, as well as transport reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Victor M. Mukhin was born in 1946 in the town of Orsk, Russia. In 1970 he graduated the Technological Institute in Leningrad. Victor M. Mukhin was directed to work to the scientific-industrial organization "Neorganika" (Elektrostal, Moscow region) where he is working during 47 years, at present as the head of the laboratory of carbon sorbents.     Victor M. Mukhin defended a Ph. D. thesis and a doctoral thesis at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (in 1979 and 1997 accordingly).
