County Antrim Yacht Club

CAYC is proud to facilitate and promote young people sailing. We have formal training for children from age 8 upwards, and are proud to train young people from first stepping into a boat to being national champions and instructors in their own right. Sailing’s governing body, the Royal Yachting Association formally recognises us as a teaching establishment and has awarded us ‘Pathway Club’ status for our ongoing commitment to coaching young people.

  • Club of the Year

County Antrim Yacht Club

Active club of the year finalist.

County Antrim Yacht Club faced a junior membership engagement decline in 2021, due to demographics and the challenges as a result of the pandemic.  Shifting tactics, the club focused on Rediscover Sailing sessions, while organising off the water social activities, which boosted participation. This also spurred parents to become involved with volunteering, developing a stronger sailing community. The club prioritises running events which fosters a team spirit and engagement with the local community and the wider sailing community.
