Dual Hydraulic Beach Platform

Dual electronically-actuated hydraulic beach platforms on the port/starboard side provide safe and easy access while boarding, de-boarding, and the ideal launch pad for water sports activities. When deployed, they create 17’ 10" of beam deck, ideal for entertaining with 150 sq. ft. of cockpit space, or when raised, 105 sq. ft. of fishing space. Albemarle 53 Spencer Edition First Glance

Two legendary North Carolina boat brands— Albemarle Boats and Spencer Yachts —have announced a partnership that will result in a new semi-custom 53-foot Carolina-style sport fisher, the Albermarle 53 Spencer Edition. At this writing, design work has been completed, molds finished and construction has gotten underway at Albemarle’s Edenton facility. The 53 Spencer Edition will be the largest boat model in the Albemarle line.

The first 53 will feature a flybridge configuration with classic Spencer styling and a hull engineered for high cruise speeds—with the seakeeping ability that characterizes both Albemarle and Spencer. The interior will boast an open salon layout, three staterooms, and two heads.

Topside, an island helm arrangement, forward facing lounge, and bench seating will offer abundant accommodation and excellent visibility from the bridge. For fishing, the 160-square-foot cockpit is complemented by a transom fishbox, transom door, and a mezzanine design with engine room access and molded boxes that can be customized to accommodate a variety of storage and refrigeration.

“Our team is truly excited as many months of planning are now coming to life,” says Keith Privott, director of sales and product development for Albemarle, who notes that the hull will be vacuum-infused with vinylester resin and foam core. “This will make it our strongest, yet lightest design to date. The entire boat is loaded with innovative details and features that will set new standards in the world of sportfishing and allow our customers to go further and do more.”

Says Paul Spencer, president of Wanchese, North Carolina-based Spencer Yachts: “While our custom boats have gotten increasingly larger in recent years, I have always appreciated boats in the 50-foot class and recognized their true competitive tournament ability. This project is a return to our boatbuilding roots, and we are really looking forward to having this 53-footer to offer.”

For power, the first 53 will feature twin MTU 1,600 hp turbo-diesel inboards, but this sport fisher can also be ordered with twin Caterpiller 1,000 hp D12.9 turbo-diesels or twin Caterpillar C18 1,150 hp twin turbo-diesel inboards.

The interior features a three stateroom, two head layout with all of the luxuries of home. The full galley contains a cooktop, microwave/convection oven, and twin refrigerator/freezer drawer units.u00a0 The spacious salon boasts an u201cLu201d shaped sofa, dinette, wet bar, and home theater system.u00a0 The interior cabinetry and trim molding is handcrafted from horizontal grain walnut.u00a0

The highlight of the bridge is the island helm console, which allows easy access around either side to the forward facing lounge and outboard bench seating.u00a0 Just above the teak helm pod, the electronics flat is designed to house a pair of 22u201d or three 16u201d displays, which can be reverse-mounted in a matte black surface.u00a0 The dash is ready to house everything necessary for competitive tournament fishing, and there is a dedicated space in the hull for Furuno Omni sonar.u00a0 A custom u00a0Pipewelders half or full u00a0tower, acrylic enclosure, and a pair of Release Marine helm chairs provide comfort and weather protection for the captain.

The 160-square-foot cockpit is spacious, uncluttered, and customizable for different styles of fishing.u00a0 Her 80-gallon transom fishbox passes the 5-gallon bucket test, and the wide transom door and gate facilitate boating trophy fish.u00a0 The mezzanine features engine room access and five fiberglass boxes, which can be customized to house coolers, bait freezers, refrigerated drink boxes, and an ice dump.u00a0 The port side cabinet is designed to accommodate a sink or grill and tackle storage.u00a0 Teak decking and covering boards/coaming and Release Marine fighting chairs and rocket launchers are available options as well.u00a0 The cockpit can truly be purpose -built.

u00a0Standard power is twin CAT C18 at 1150 HP diesels, and an upgrade to MTU 10V 1600 HP is available for even higher cruising speeds.u00a0 Her hull design gives her the seakeeping ability that both Albemarle and Spencer have long been known for.u00a0 Mechanical highlights include a 21 KW Onan generator and an innovative pump room forward of the engine room bulkhead that houses the sonar and pump equipment, keeping the engine room uncluttered.u00a0 Additional available mechanical options include Seakeeper 9, water maker, and ice chipper.

The ultimate “Super Yacht” fishing tender was built for family fishing and fun. This 530 Scout has been customized for a knowledgeable yachtsman by a fastidious captain. “The Coop” is turn-key and loaded with every option including customized, dual fold down side doors with a custom staircase into the water to make tank diving very easy. The cockpit has LP 30 amp twist lock outlets as well for deep dropping fun.  With an effortless 50k cruise and plenty of fuel, the islands are calling.  Extra safety measures were built in with C02 detectors and dual life rafts.

This 53’ Scout is well balanced with an all-chain anchor rode. The 53’ Scout comes on plane effortlessly without losing the horizon unlike many other large center consoles. The air-conditioned helm area with club seating behind is a supremely comfortable way to travel.

A large 22” Garmin screen on the backside of the companion seat shows the forward-facing camera to give the occupants a view. Having sea trialed this 53’ Scout is both calm and rough conditions, the solid dry and soft ride coming through 3 – 5’ seas was incredibly impressive encountering a rough 8’ wave. The Scout’s big bow and solid construction pushed the wave!

THE COOP for Sale is a 53 ft yacht built by Scout in 2021. Currently she is located in Miami and ready for her new owners.

“dharma” is a  1978 Hatteras 53 Yacht Fisherman  with a functional original factory cockpit. “dharma” is hull number  318  of one of the most sought after 53 Motor Yacht models by Hatteras Yachts. One noted fact about this boat is she is very much in  its original condition  and not drastically altered, modified, or modernized by any of the previous owners. The current knowledgeable owner has kept that in mind but enjoyed the boat for local use in  Florida with his family and friends.  All Detroit Diesel engine services are done by an experienced Detroit Diesel mechanic who has 35 plus years of Detroit Diesel experience. Engine Oil and Filter change was just completed in February 2024. Maintenance and repair records, all new parts installations, etc. etc. for the past three years are documented and available upon request by potential buyers. An Insurance Survey report (September 2023) is also available.  

August 2023 the boat was hauled out for running gear repairs to replace cutlas bearings, rudder shaft seals and bearings, replace all zincs and apply Petit Prop Coat on running gear. Mechanically, engines are in good running condition and the hour meter readings for  Port 790  and  Starboard 797 . At some point in the past, engines were overhauled but the current seller does not have any records. The original Onan 15 Kw generator is  not working.   

For  Classic Yacht Enthusiast  the boat is ideal for a restoration project. Also, the desirable 3-stateroom/3-head layout is ideal for anyone looking for a  Home Away from Home  to get away from the cold in the winter months. The current knowledgeable Hatteras owner has enjoyed her with his family and now ready to part with her.

Overall, the boat is in good condition but there are few items needing repair or replaced by the new buyer which includes replacing the generator. The cost of these items has been considered in setting the below market asking price. The boat is on land at a boat yard in Fort Lauderdale for easy inspection at the present time.  

2010 Caribe 12’ (model DL 12 RIB) tender with 30HP Honda four stroke OB engine with low hours that’s on a single axel trailer with cover can be purchased separately. This tender can be towed behind the Hatteras. 

Secondary Description

Aft Cockpit 

Boarding the boat from either side is a breeze. Functional all fiberglass cockpit offers easy access to the swim platform through the transom gate. Fishing, swimming, scuba diving, line handling and dinghy handling is so much easier. Traditionally a feature of sport fishing boats, motor yacht owners have discovered this versatile feature offers extra convenience and enjoyment. The swimming platform has Weaver Snap Davits for inflatable dinghy mount to swim platform. The out-board engine mount is to the port side of the cockpit. Fold-down ladder makes it easier to get in and out of the water. Underneath the cockpit floor is an extra 240-gallon fuel tank that was installed at the factory, a feature of the Yacht Fisherman for fishing enthusiast. A GFI electrical outlet is on the port side and a wash down spigot is on the starboard side.   

Aft Deck 

An open Aft Deck with an overhang is nice and cozy for an evening to enjoy drinks or just relax and watch the sunset! Entry from the salon is through the double doors, two wing doors on each side give access to the side decks, access to the cockpit is with a varnished staircase. Underneath the ladder to the fly bridge is a storage unit with drawers.  

Salon 

The salon is very much a classic Hatteras with lots of wood, side curtains, natural light flowing from 360-degree large windows and has two side doors to the side decks for line handling or to access the bow or aft deck. On the port side aft is an icemaker, wet bar with sink, glass storage for entertainment. White leather couch on the starboard side and an accent chair and a tv cabinet on the port side (no TV). There is a 1500-watt inverter. Hi-low Cocktail/Dinning table can be move to the aft deck for aft deck dinning. 12-V Valance lights for nighttime entertainment. Original speakers are connected to an AM/FM stereo/CD player with Bluetooth.
