For Sale: Horizon Power Catamarans 52

The Horizon Power Catamarans 52 delivers a bluewater cruiser that’s capable of long-range voyages with home-size volume. Sunbird , a 2022 build, is currently listed for sale through Horizon Powercat Co for $2.145 million. The 52-footer ticks all the boxes with its three-stateroom, two-head layout that sleeps six, multiple exterior entertainment spaces and a well-appointed galley.

Sunbird has a reported 21-knot top hop thanks to twin 550 hp Cummins QSB 6.7 diesels. At 18 knots, this power cat should have a 400-nautical-mile range. Dial it back to 8 knots, and range increases about 1,000 nautical miles. Maximum range is 1,780 nautical miles at just under 5 knots. The Horizon PC52 has a 4-foot-6-inch minimum draft, enabling it to cruise safely over shallow waters.

When it’s time to turn in for the evening, the three staterooms are belowdecks. The starboard hull houses the master stateroom with an en suite head aft and a queen berth forward. The port hull has the VIP stateroom forward with a queen berth. The second head is positioned between the VIP stateroom and the third guest stateroom, which has twin berths that convert to a queen berth with an insert.

Guest can enjoy shaded dining with a view in the cockpit at the high-gloss teak table and transom bench seat. Pull up a few chairs and there’s space for six.

Alfresco dining spaces are also found on the flybridge where guests can enjoy cocktails and conversation at an L-shaped dinette to port or relax on the lounge pad forward and to starboard.

Sunbird has an aft-galley aft layout, which makes serving guests in the cockpit and the salon easy. And for chefs who strive to please everyone, the salon is large enough to accommodate several chefs simultaneously, and is equipped with a Miele cooktop, Miele speed oven and full-sized refrigerator. The galley’s countertop bar also has three stools and is sure to be a gathering spot after hours.

We recently reported on the construction process for the Horizon PC52, “This open-water capable powercat has one-piece hull lamination and longitudinal stringers for added backbone, and the hull is built with the trademarked SCRIMP process for improved strength without added weight. It also has a high-density, foam-cored construction for the bottom and topsides, solid fiberglass laminate for the stem and keel, and high-density foam-cored stringers for the power cat’s Cummins diesels. For strength with reduced top weight, Horizon Power Catamarans uses foam-cored reinforcement in the deck and superstructure.”

The boat comes with a brand new boat cover which never been used. The sellers have added a rub rail, engine compartment exhaust blower, bilge pump; and a new fuel tank. The fridge has been removed and the sink may need replacing. There is no head. 1997 Sunbird Neptune 212 Walkaround This single owner well-kept 1997 Sunbird Neptune 212 Walk Around Cuddy is powered by an upgraded 2007 150 hp Yamaha 4-stroke outboard and only 48 hours!  She has swivel helm and companion seats with new cushions and her electronics include a Lowrance Elite5 GPS and West Marine VHF Radio, both housed in a locking compartment at the helm. She also has new electronic Yamaha gauges and a compass.   Dual batteries with battery charger can be found beneath the starboard bench.  She has a spacious cockpit and plenty of seating, with two port and starboard stern benches with new snap-on cushions. An additional small bench can be found on the  bow.  Her locking cuddy cabin has new thick cushioning and sleeps two comfortably. She also has a re-circulating head that hides beneath two easily lifted cabin cushions.  Her canvas includes a bimini top and full helm cover. She comes with standard USCG equipment! Excellent condition Sunbird Neptune 201. Boat only has 170 original hours on it and was used in fresh water only. Just recently repowered with a 2008 e-tec 115. The motor has approx 850 hours I would say. I have the last report in August showing 834 hours. Comes with full canvas package and nice galvanized trailer. Trailer tires are excellent and also includes a full brand new spare tire. Everything works on this boat you won't be disappointed. Also includes lowrance elite 5 gps fish finder. This is a one-time disruption while we migrate more than 1.6 billion eBird observations and additional project data to new servers. After the move, our websites will have improved reliability, stability, and room to grow. Thank you for your understanding during this outage.

Don’t worry, your data (checklists, media, Bird Academy courses, Merlin life list, etc.) will be safe during the migration and will be unaffected when we come back online.

Unavailable: The following websites and services will be down during this period:

• eBird.org , including eBird portals, eBird Alerts, the eBird API, eBird Science, and data downloads
• Macaulay Library
• Birds of the World

Partially affected: Several Cornell Lab projects will remain up but services that require a login will be unavailable:

• Bird Academy login and store will be unavailable. Users will be able to access most course materials if they were logged in to the site before the outage. Snap ID quizzes will not function during the outage.
• NestWatch and Project FeederWatch login and data entry will be unavailable both on the website and the app. Please record your data on paper and enter it after the outage ends.
• eBird Mobile app : The Explore and My eBird functions will not work during the outage. You can use the app to create checklists and then submit them after the outage ends. Your eBird data will be safe.
