yacht owned by the Crown Prince of Dubai

First look at the yacht owned by the Crown Prince of Dubai

Saxdor Yachts has announced the delivery of a Saxdor 400 GTO to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai.

Measuring 12.4 metres, the model is the Finnish shipyard's flagship and is characterised by an impressive top speed of 48 knots.

Another key feature is the open wheelhouse which extends to the full beam of the boat. This maximises the internal living space and offers direct access to side terraces, a unique design feature that "creates a private island experience while at rest".

Accommodation includes a forward double cabin, an aft cabin and an optional configuration for children. The aft deck sunbed extends across the 3.6-metre beam, while the bow seating area (with optional Bimini) provides a "gorgeous sunset cocktail setup" according to the shipyard. Other leisure highlights include a barbecue, sink and hi-low tables for flexible al fresco living.

"We are extremely delighted and deeply honoured to have been selected by His Highness," said shipyard CEO Erna Rusi. "The Prince’s Saxdor 400 GTO was delivered with special attention, with several people from our senior team present to ensure the best possible experience. We look forward to seeing His Highness enjoy the great features of the boat."

Saxdor Yachts has nine models in its portfolio ranging from 5.9 to 12.4 metres.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, today opened the Dubai International Boat Show 2022.

Speaking at the opening event, Sheikh Hamdan said the event is one of the world’s top three most influential international yacht shows, which reflects Dubai’s status as a prominent global maritime destination.

He further said the rapid development of Dubai’s maritime infrastructure reflects the vision of the emirate’s leadership to ensure the highest standards of global excellence and transform Dubai into an influential player in major international industries.

Sheikh Hamdan toured the five-day event’s new venue at Dubai Harbour accompanied by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime City Authority.

Featuring more than 800 brands, the 28th edition of the Middle East’s nautical showpiece, which is reuniting the industry after a sustained period apart, is set to have a positive impact on growth and investment in the global maritime sector. It also promises to demonstrate Dubai Harbour’s capabilities as a dedicated superyacht marina and strengthen the emirate’s reputation as a world-class maritime destination.

Sheikh Hamdan was also accompanied by Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, and a number of senior officials.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the newly opened culinary hotspot, Bungalo34 situated in the heart of Pearl Jumeira Island at Nikki Beach Resort & Spa. After the royal visit, the restaurant even shared a photo of the team posing with Fazza and the caption said, “We are delighted and honoured to have hosted His Royal Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for lunch this afternoon.”

Caviar Kaspia

Fresh from the hustle and bustle of Paris, Caviar Kaspia opened its first venue outside the French capital in Dubai late last year. One of the first people to visit was the Crown Prince of Dubai. A photo of Fazza’s visit was posted to the restaurant’s Instagram page, where His Highness was seen posing with a Matryoshka Doll, which is a signature to the restaurant and is known to hold caviar.

11 Woodfire

For one of the first outings in 2022, Sheikh Hamdan visited this new concept – the brainchild of chef Akmal Anuar and Ahmass Fakahany, CEO and Founder of Atelier House Hospitality – which opened later last year. Located in a villa on Jumeirah Beach Road, 11 Woodfire opened in November 2021. Sharing the news of the Crown Prince’s visit to 11 Woodfire with a photograph, the restaurant said it was an “honour” to host him.

Spotted at Chef Izu’s latest venue, Alaya in DIFC this month, Sheikh Hamdan gave the restaurant his royal seal of approval.Masterminded by Chef Izu and one of Emirates Man’s former cover stars Evgeny Kuzin, the concept is nothing short of extraordinary, with a combination of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences. Inspired by their travels, each dish is prepared with the freshest ingredients. After only opening last month, the restaurant has gained quite a bit of traction as the duo has brought a new concept to DIFC. By taking each visitor on a culinary journey, the warm inviting space, ensures guests feel at home from the moment they enter.

Avli by Tashas

Having opened just over three years ago in January 2019, Sheikh Hamdan is a frequent visitor to Avli by tashas in DIFC. The restaurant captures the essence of Greek cuisine combined with a chic and sophisticated space reminiscent of the Mediterranean.

While continuing to extend his support to several homegrown restaurants in the UAE, Sheikh Hamdan has been a long-time fan of Chef Izu, the brainchild behind two notable restaurants in the UAE. Seen posing in this snap with Chef Izu, Sheikh Hamdan paid a visit to Carine, located in Emirates Golf Club. At the time of his visit, the Dubai-based restauranteur said, “Always an honour and great pleasure to have HH Sheikh Hamdan with us at Carine.”

This Turkish-Middle Eastern restaurant is the first Dubai-based establishment for Chef CZN Burak, who is hugely popular on social media with over 17 million followers and already has three popular restaurants in his home country of Turkey. In late 2020, he decided to crack the Dubai F&B space and within the first month of opening welcomed Sheikh Hamdan to his Downtown Dubai venue.

Loved by Sheikh Hamdan, Gaia is the brainchild of Chef Izu. The restaurant encompasses the Greek Goddess of Earth, the mother of the sun, the mountains and the sea and is the inspiration for each exquisite Mediterranean dish. In January 2019, the Crown Prince of Dubai and his father, the Ruler of Dubai, were spotted dining at the Grecian-inspired restaurant. But even before that, Sheikh Hamdan gave Gaia his seal of approval back just five days after it opened in October 2018. After his visit, Chef Izu posted a cheeky picture with the Dubai royal, as he sported a wide grin.

Gohan, the new Japanese speakeasy by the team at La Cantine du Faubourg is one of the latest hotspots to visit. The space is quite intimate being able to seat no more than 30 diners at a time and Fazza gave his stamp of approval in late 2021. While the restaurant may have been a well-kept secret previously, now that Fazza has paid a visit the word about Gohan is well and truly out.

Known for their Afghani specialities, this eatery pushes beyond the borders of authentic cuisine in the heart of Dubai, with some of the most creative pizza combinations offered under one roof in the highly comforting atmosphere with a modern interpretation of the aforementioned cuisine with innovative desserts. Located at Gate Avenue mall level in DIFC, the Crown Prince’s uncle, Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum, also known as Uncle Saeed on Instagram, is a regular at Gudees.

This high-class Tuscan Bistro welcomed the Crown Prince of Dubai along with his team, with authentic cuisine and dishes that are made with ingredients that are freshly imported for a bespoke Italian experience. In 2021, it was one of the first outings Sheikh Hamdan made following the announcement he has become a father to twins, Rashid and Sheikha.

the premium Japanese haven, Katsuya, welcomed Sheikh Hamdan in February 2022. With a combination of high-end designed with skillfully prepared culinary delights, the restaurant is sure to deliver an authentic experience with traditional flavours served on a plate. From dumplings to delicious sushi platters, the fine-dining options at this restaurant are beyond delightful, as most of the dishes are freshly prepared straight from the robata grill.

L’Amo Bistro Del Mare

Sheikh Hamdan made a visit to L’Amo Bistro del Mare in May 2022, an Italian restaurant that opened its doors at Dubai Harbour this year. The waterfront restaurant welcomed His Highness for lunch on Saturday. The Dubai Crown Prince also posed for a photo with Chef Lorenzo Buccarini, Carlo Tinelli, General Manager of the restaurant and Piero Giglio, MD & Partner of MINE Lifestyle Managing. This upscale seafood restaurant is a partnership between Sunset Hospitality Group and Mine and Yours Group, making this yet another notable addition to the Dubai dining scene. Situated in the heart of the city at the Dubai Harbour Yacht Club, L’Amo Bistro Del Mare is open daily from 12pm to 3pm and 7pm to midnight.

la maison ani

On one of his most recent foodie outings, Sheikh Hamdan paid a visit to a brand new concept by Chef Izu Ani and Evgeny Kuzin. Fazza stopped by La Maison Ani at the end of May 2022 just weeks after it officially opened. The restaurant’s team described it as an “honour” to welcome the Crown Prince, sharing a photo from his visit. “It was a complete honour and privilege to host The Crown Prince @faz3 at La Maison Ani by Chef Izu,” they said. “The first of many visits we hope.”

A Mykonos favourite, Nammos Dubai offers incredible views of the Arabian Seam, as well as incredible cuisine. the iconic Dubai Skyline – if you’re looking for a fun afternoon, this is the location. Sheikh Hamdan made a visit at this delicious eatery back in December 2019.

Sheikh Hamdan’s a fan, and so are we. This contemporary Japanese restaurant opened back in 2020 and Sheikh Hamdan was one of the first to visit post-lockdown. Known for its contemporary Japanese robatayaki cuisine and sushi, this restaurant has become a firm favourite on the Dubai dining scene.

Sal at Burj Al Arab

In mid-December 2020, the Crown Prince of Dubai was pictured at Sal at the Burj Al Arab. This restaurant opened its doors back in September 2020 and has been a popular destination for restaurant-goers ever since. It offers guests endless ocean views with seamless service and a sophisticated menu. Described as “barefoot luxury meets Southern European culinary excellence”, the restaurant also comes fully equipped with a 100-metre infinity pool to relax at after a delightful meal.

This Mediterranean-inspired travel-themed café is extremely Instagrammable and is known for its topographic design. Located in Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue extension, the theme of the restaurant has certainly caught everyone’s attention.

This restaurant is already a household name in London and Las Vegas. Having arrived in Dubai late last year, SUSHISAMBA has already made its mark on the emirate. So much so, Sheikh Hamdan thought it fit to host one of his most famous friends at the restaurant on his recent visit to Dubai. The emirate’s Crown Prince was seen visiting the hotspot with famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. In late January, the pair enjoyed lunch together with some of their entourage. We’re definitely adding this new hotspot to our list of must-trys.

The Arts Club

This sophisticated private members-only club is situated in the heart of DIFC. Having welcomed Sheikh Hamdan last year, this ultra-luxe venue was honoured to have him and even posted a picture on their feed. The Crown Prince enjoyed a hearty meal at Rōhen.

This picturesque new restaurant brings a piece of Aegean paradise to the heart of Dubai. Situated at the Address Downtown Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan was spotted there in January 2022. Sheikh Latifa to lead the initiative supporting innovative 'prototypes for humanity'

hamdannn-1719144489582

Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), today approved the launch of the next phase of the ‘Dubai Future Solutions’ initiative.

The ‘Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity’ initiative will be overseen by Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture). The initiative aims to foster the development and implementation of innovative prototypes and pilot models, delivering transformative solutions from Dubai to the world. This initiative aims to build on the successes achieved by the ‘Prototypes for Humanity’ initiative over the past nine years, and its efforts to advance innovation for the betterment of humanity.

Sheikh Hamdan witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Dubai Future Foundation and the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation (HSDF), which pledged Dh100 million to support innovation and technology in Dubai and across the UAE. Signed by Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF, and Sajwani, Founder and Chairman of DAMAC Properties, the agreement makes HSDF a strategic partner of the initiative.

Sheikh Hamdan affirmed that the initiative serves as a comprehensive platform to support innovators and designers of future solutions around the world and nurture top talent and creative thinkers across all future-oriented sectors. It is a pivotal step towards realising the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into a global innovation hub, he said.

Dynamic platform

“The objective of the ‘Dubai Future Solutions - Prototypes for Humanity’ initiative is to create a dynamic platform that attracts leading innovations, projects, and experimental ideas from across the world, including contributions from bright students, top universities and international institutions, with the aim of transforming these ideas into impactful solutions benefiting humanity. We extend our gratitude to Hussain Sajwani for supporting Dubai’s innovation journey and his dedication to advancing future technologies across sectors,” Sheikh Hamdan added.

Sheikha Latifa said the directives of Sheikh Hamdan provide a strong impetus to Dubai’s journey of innovation, entrepreneurship, future design, and human empowerment. They serve as a guide to strengthen international collaborations and partnerships and accelerate the advancement of new technologies and innovations.

“To achieve these goals, we are committed to cultivating strategic partnerships with government entities, the private sector, global universities, and academic, cultural, technological and creative institutions. Our objective is to spotlight a variety of future-oriented ideas and innovations that have a positive impact on society, ultimately transforming them into tangible achievements that will serve humanity,” Her Highness added.

Under the guidance of Sheikha Latifa, the collaboration between DFF and HSDF will establish a global framework to enhance partnerships with academic institutions, students, laboratories, startups, and leading innovators worldwide. This initiative is designed to attract leading global innovations to Dubai, offering a platform for innovators to exhibit their work, drive community improvement, address significant global challenges, and convert experimental projects into thriving startups.

In addition, the initiative supports innovators and startups across various future sectors, enhancing job creation, investment opportunities, and market expansion. It also aids in patenting innovations and helps transition ideas into viable companies, while providing investment avenues for innovators looking to expand from Dubai to global markets. These objectives will be realised in collaboration with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Dubai Culture.

Annual celebration

Furthermore, an annual event will be hosted at the Dubai Future District, showcasing the best 100 innovations from the ‘Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity’ initiative. The top innovations will be honoured during the annual ceremony.

DFF will also support this initiative through various national programmes, including the Dubai Research and Development Program and the Dubai Robotics and Automation Program. Leveraging its integrated ecosystem, DFF will promote entrepreneurship through AREA 2071 and the Dubai Future Accelerators (DFA), spotlighting promising projects and talents.

This announcement builds on the success achieved by the ‘Prototypes for Humanity’, an initiative of the Art Dubai Group, over the past nine years. Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, the initiative has showcased hundreds of innovative projects from over 10,000 applications submitted by students from more than 700 universities worldwide.

The ‘Prototypes for Humanity’ initiative has been supported by its founding partners: Dubai Culture, DIFC, A.R.M Holding, and the Investment Corporation of Dubai. In the past year, the initiative received over 2,800 project submissions encompassing more than 200 research fields across diverse technological and future-oriented sectors.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

sheikh hamdan bin mohammed yacht

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

sheikh hamdan bin mohammed yacht

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

sheikh hamdan bin mohammed yacht

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

sheikh hamdan bin mohammed yacht

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

sheikh hamdan bin mohammed yacht

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

sheikh hamdan bin mohammed yacht

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

sheikh hamdan bin mohammed yacht

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
