Reviews From Our Guests

It’s a great way to get off Broadway and still have some good ‘ole Nashville fun!!! Seriously so much fun! Beautiful views, awesome crew, clean bathroom and great music.

My bridesmaids surprised me with the boat cruise for my Nashbach! It was the best time ever! Highly recommend this event for any group looking to spend an evening partying on the river!

Went on the pontoon saloon for my bachelorette party. We had a blast!! There were multiple parties with us and we all danced together. At one point we were playing limbo with a broomstick. I do recommend getting there earlier to secure a good spot on the boat. Plus, having the bathroom on board made life so much easier.

We had a team meeting (12 people) in Nashville and took an evening cruise on the pontoon saloon. It was the perfect choice for a group activity as they had dinner and beer as we cruised the Cumberland River. Awesome views of the Nashville skyline!! Andrew was great!

Pontoon Saloon was a great experience! The owner and staff are super cool, the boat was clean and roomy! It was a beautiful day on the Cumberland River even in November! We had a big group, so did the private tour! Highly recommend!

Cops say Riley Strain had 12 to 15 drinks before leaving Nashville bar and drowning

The 22-year-old’s cause of death was drowning and his blood alcohol level was found to be three times the amount allowed to drive, article bookmarked.

Riley Strain, the University of Missouri student who drowned in the Cumberland River after leaving a Nashville bar, had consumed between 12 to 15 alcoholic drinks before his death, a Metro Nashville police investigation found.

The 22-year-old’s cause of death was drowning and ethanol intoxication, and he was found to have a blood alcohol level of .228, according to the Davidson County Medical Examiner’s Office

Despite his blood alcohol level being three times the amount allowed to drive a vehicle, the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission determined that the college senior had not been overserved the evening of March 8 and that he had been served just one drink and two waters before being escorted out of the bar.

A police investigative file recently obtained by WSMV4 Investigates, which includes interviews with Strain’s Delta Chi fraternity members, reveals how many drinks he allegedly consumed before he even got to the bars in downtown Nashville in the hours that led up to his death.

Riley Strain, who drowned in the Cumberland River after leaving a Nashville bar, had consumed between 12 to 15 alcoholic drinks before his death

Strain and his fraternity brothers were on a bus traveling from the University of Missouri to Nashville for a fraternity formal. The bus driver had enforced a strict “no alcohol” rule, but two of the students said the group was drinking and that Strain had at least five drinks, including two vodka shots and three IPAs.

David Easlick, an attorney who operated a national fraternity for 29 years and now sues fraternities after the death or injuries of students, told WSMV4 that the amount of alcohol in those drinks violates the chapter’s own rules which states that no drink with more than 15 percent alcohol can be served at a fraternity function unless it is served by a licensed third party.

“This is basically an out-of-control party situation,” Easlick added.

Video footage from Casa Rosa in downtown Nashville shows Strain drinking a margarita at 4:55 p.m., according to TABC investigators, who reviewed footage from all the bars Strain went to that night. They found he was served alcohol three times.

However, the footage showed no indication that Strain was visibly drunk when he was served at that time, according to a TABC spokesperson. It is unclear when Strain consumed all the 12-15 alcoholic drinks estimated by MNPD, WSMV4 reported.

WSMV4 Investigates presented the police findings to the national chapter of Delta Chi but a Delta Chi spokesman would not comment, and only referred to a statement previously posted about the fraternity’s sadness about Strain’s death.

The police findings also included notes about the video footage released last month that showed the moment Strain left the bar.

An aerial photo of the Cumberland River in Nashville. Riley Strain’s body was found in the river on March 22 approximately 8 miles from where he disappeared in downtown Nashville

At 8.40pm, the footage showed Strain began to stumble repeatedly, according to investigators. At 9.38pm, he was escorted out of Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink by a staff member following an argument.

Strain then can be seen in the video shakily walking downstairs toward an exterior door while conversing with a male staffer.

Staff at the bar also took a photo of Strain on March 8, noting he had been kicked out of the bar for being “verbally aggressive” with staff.

After he left the bar, Strain was seen on other surveillance cameras stumbling around the streets of downtown Nashville. He later encountered a police officer who asked him how he was doing, with Strain replying that he was doing fine. The interaction was captured by the officer’s bodycam.

GPS data pulled from Strain’s phone showed that after he left the bar he began wandering in the opposite direction of his hotel, which took him near the Cumberland River. Strain disappeared sometime after 9:45 p.m. that night.

Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink in downtown Nashville. University of Missouri student Riley Strain was kicked out of the bar on March 8, 2024

After a two-week search, the college student’s body was pulled from the Cumberland River in Nashville on March 22.

The bar is owned by Luke Bryan, a country music star. TC Restaurant Group, which operates and owns Luke’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink, worked closely with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on its investigation into the missing student, the singer previously said.

Bryan’s bar is located in the busy Broadway area in downtown Nashville and offers live music every night. It sits around two blocks from the Cumberland River.

First responders rescue fisherman injured at state park

Multiple agencies used a ropes system to rescue the fisherman about 20 feet down a bluff near the river..

ROCK ISLAND, Tenn. (WSMV) - First responders from multiple agencies were able to rescue an injured fisherman at Rock Island State Park on Friday night, the Central View Volunteer Fire Department said.

The White County E911 Center was notified just before 9 p.m. of an injured fisherman at the park. Members from Central View, Sparta Rescue Squad and White County EMS found the fisherman about 20 feet down a bluff near the river. They determined a ropes system was needed to recover the fisherman.

Members of all agencies worked together to ensure the patient was safely transported to the awaiting ambulance and was later flown by helicopter to a Nashville area hospital.

Unresolved problems for homeless camp continue on Cumberland River Greenway

Unresolved problems for homeless camp continue on Cumberland River Greenway (WZTV)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Trash, fires, drugs and noise are the complaints from those living near the Cumberland River Greenway in Germantown.

FOX 17 News has been tracking the camp for months , and those using the greenway said the conditions are not getting better.

People who use that greenway told FOX 17 News they are sick of the camp and want city leaders to do something about it.

Dozens of people on that greenway walk, bike and run often.

Lucas Anderson said he has been running there over the last three years.

“Honestly a lot of people that I work with, are friends with, are scared to come down the trail this way,” he said.

There was a lot of trash at the homeless encampment. People are growing tired of the ongoing problem.

FOX 17 News asked them if they thought it was a growing problem.

“I think so,” said Mike Anthony, an avid biker.

“It is annoying" said Blake Harper who lives right around the corner from the encampment. "Definitely dirty. It smells in certain areas as well."

“They have been blaring music out over here,” he adds.

FOX 17 News asked a spokesperson with the Office of Homeless Services if the agency plans to close it down and what else they are doing to address the problem.

“We would never do that without having housing available for every single resident,” said Demetris Chaney with the Office of Homeless Services. “Our outreach to workers are deployed to that area on a weekly basis, and their goal is to get them connected to housing."

She said resources are given to them to help, but said the lack of affordable housing is the real problem.

“I don’t know what else they are going to do,” said Harper.

The district’s Metro Councilman Jacob Kupin sent FOX 17 News a statement in response to the problem. See the statement below:

"The Cement Plant Road encampment is part of the Office of Homeless Services' county-wide camp closure scoring program, which, as we know, takes time to implement. The Office of Homeless Services just celebrated its first anniversary and has worked to close camps while housing individuals, among other efforts. We recently opened the 90-bed permanent supportive housing Strobel Center and continue our efforts to provide housing and clean and close camps. The surrounding neighborhood recently engaged in a cleanup at this particular camp, and we continue to keep it on our radar. I’m committed to the safety and well-being of all who use the Greenway, as we strive to make it the safest and cleanest in the nation. I encourage anyone with concerns to reach out to me, and I’m happy to discuss further.”

Previously FOX 17 News asked about funding to give those experiencing homelessness permanent housing, but it’s unclear if there will ever be enough to house everyone.
