Much like Amazon, Jeff Bezos’ $500 million superyacht offers every bell and whistle imaginable, from A to Z.

The colossal, triple-masted Koru began its career serving the world’s third richest man this week, cruising the Mediterranean around Mallorca.

The 417-foot schooner first left Rotterdam in the Netherlands for sea trials in February. Dropping anchor in Mallorca put its jaw-dropping size on full display.

It also showed the extent of Bezos’ fleet: Not only did the Koru sail into harbor, so did its support vessel, Abeona, a mega-boat in its own right, the luxurious fast-launches used to move between the two — and aerial support in the form of his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez’s personal helicopter.

Sanchez also seemingly serves the fleet’s mascot, with the Koru’s figurehead, a part of traditional large sailing ships, modeled after her.

The Koru is the world’s tallest sailing yacht. Its three huge 229-foot masts power it to 20 knots. It’s also the biggest billionaire’s yacht which can move under sail-power alone.

The masts are so tall that Dutch officials considered dismantling the 95-year-old Koningshaven Bridge to allow the vessel past the 131-foot span on its journey from the Oceanco shipyard in Alblasserdam through Rotterdam to the North Sea.

That controversial plan was scrapped after local backlash, including residents being urged to toss eggs at Bezos’ “latest toy,”  the New York Times reported . The superyacht, previously known as Y721, was instead towed to a shipyard in Rotterdam, downstream of the bridge, without its masts.

Bezos, 59, and the bikini-clad Sanchez, 53, appeared ready for the summer as the pair soaked up the sun aboard Koru, a Māori word for loop or coil that symbolizes new beginnings — possibly a coy reference to their relationship.

Sanchez started secretly dating the Blue Origin founder in the summer of 2018. Bezos then announced in January 2019 he and his wife Mackenzie were divorcing after 25 years , while Sanchez finalized her split from husband Patrick Whitesell later that year.

Sanchez plays a critical role in the Bezos fleet: As a helicopter pilot, she was seen landing on the Abeona. She was also at Bezos’ side when he took the wheel of the Koru.

Koru was first seen under construction in 2021 at Oceano’s yard. The company is owned by a fellow billionaire, Oman’s Mohammed Al Barwani.

As many as 18 guests can enjoy the yacht’s three outdoor decks, including one with two pools. The vessel, which has a crew of up to 36, also boasts a cinema, meeting spaces and lounges,  Luxuo reported .

Every detail is designed for luxury, even down to the masts’ technology.

Bezos opted for high-tech “in-boom furlers,” which store the vast canvases at the bottom of the mast, above the deck. Each weighs nearly 2,000 pounds, but they allow his deck to be kept clear of ropes.

Clearing ropes out of the way maximizes entertaining space, and allows for a hot tub forward of the mainmast.

The yacht is also built for speed. Its three masts provide “one of the largest sail areas ever seen in yachting,”  according to SuperYacht Times .

The Koru’s original designer, and the identity of its captain, remain secret. Boat International noted : “With the elegant curve of the bow and a bowsprit, the lines are certainly classic, but we still have no idea which designer drew them.”

The Cayman Islands-flagged vessel also has engine power like most sailing yachts.

And while other billionaires measure yachts by size, Bezos’ is only the 24th largest.

However, since Koru’s masts rule out a helicopter deck, the billionaire commissioned a support vessel, Abeona, named for the Roman goddess of outward journeys.

In addition to a helipad, the 246-foot Abeona features an extra two staterooms for four guests and as many as 45 crew and support staff.

It’s the largest custom-built support vessel ever manufactured by Damen Yachting. On board in Mallorca were at least four jetskis, two fast launches, and an additional dinghy. Its heavy winch is capable of lifting a small submarine, although Bezos is not believed to have one thus far.

The “classic exterior lines” of Koru, are reminiscent of another billionaire’s boat: Eos, a 305-foot sailing yacht owned by Barry Diller, 81, who may have inspired Bezos after hosting him on the vessel.

Favored by megastars like Katy Perry and Bradley Cooper — who were Diller’s guests during 2019’s Google Camp in Sicily — the German-built Eos can accommodate up to 16 guests and 21 crew.

It was the largest private sailing yacht in the world when it was completed in 2006. Diller, chairman of IAC and Expedia, who is worth $3.9 billion, bought it three years later. Intriguingly, its figurehead is modeled on Diller’s wife Diane von Fürstenberg, the fashion designer.

But the $200 million, 305-foot schooner is now dwarfed by Bezos’ boat.

As Koru sailed in the Balearic Sea this week off the coast of Spain, Bezos’ boat symbolically surges past several other tech billionaires’ vessels – including Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s $80 million, 240-foot Dragonfly, and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison’s, $160 million, 288-foot Musashi.

It will cost Bezos, 59, an estimated $25 million per year to operate Koru, but the world’s third-richest man isn’t likely to need a loan with his $140.6 billion fortune,  according to Forbes .

Bezos’ use of sailpower sets him apart from most billionaires, but others are seeking a hi-tech zero-carbon power source: a Japanese billionaire has reportedly commissioned the world’s first hydrogen-powered superyacht.

Germany’s Lürssen Yachts announced in March that they had a hydrogen-powered superyacht in advanced construction.

It declined to identify the future owner of the unnamed superyacht, but specialist publication FuelCellsWorks reported Japanese billionaire tech Yusaku Maezawa, worth an estimated $1.7 billion, commissioned the innovative effort.

Dubbed Project Cosmos, the 374-foot superyacht is designed by Apple’s legendary Marc Newson and was first unveiled in early March at Lürssen’s facility in Rendsburg, Germany.

Once completed as soon as next year, the vessel is expected to utilize emission-free fuel cell technology to generate power lasting up to 15 days while anchored or to travel as far as 1,000 miles at slow speeds.

Three other major shipyards, including in Italy and the Netherlands, are likely to launch their own hydrogen started outfitting newly constructed vessels with hydrogen fuel cells as of March 2022, with the first models reportedly expected in 2024.

Other megayachts expected to soon join Bezos’ Koru in the water include two Lürssen models, the 475-foot Luminance and the 400-foot Jag, and Feadship 821, a 389-foot offering from the Netherlands manufacturer.

But even those won’t best the biggest megayacht in the world, the 593-foot Azzam, which launched in 2013 after being commissioned by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates who died last year.

Azzam, which means determination in Arabic, reportedly cost more than $600 million and is nearly 60 feet longer than the world’s second-largest yacht, the 533-foot Eclipse, owned by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.

Those monster vessels are expected to be surpassed next year by REV, a 600-foot yacht under construction in Norway which will have space for 36 guests and 54 crewmembers, according to Boat International .

Well, if one is a billionaire or friends with one, dining, swimming, lounging, tanning, and feeling the ocean breeze through your hair. But for those landlubbers destined to only ever look at yachts through a screen, the activity of yacht season is mainly looking at photos of the yachters on their yachts while comparing the billionaires’ big boats. 

Roman Abramovich ’s yacht Eclipse has a mini submarine on board and two helipads. Bernard Arnault ’s yacht has a grand piano and a cinema. Jeff Bezos ’s new yacht also has a name—Koru—and has three large masts, making it a sailing schooner that harkens back to the golden age of seafaring (though, at 417 feet, way bigger than those boats generally were). It’s the Renaissance fair of the seas. 

And no Dutch-built yacht would be complete without a Valkyrie at its prow. The one on Koru looks a helluva lot like Lauren Sanchez, his girlfriend. Bezos has not commented on his ship to the press, so whether the figurehead is explicitly based on Sanchez’s visage and body is simply conjecture. Here, for example, is the Daily Mail conjecturing: “ curvaceous winged GODDESS…bears striking resemblance to none other than…Ms. Sanchez! ”

Besides a lifelike statue of his girlfriend, Bezos’s yacht has an on-deck pool as well as a pet yacht—that is, a smaller dinghy (only 246 feet) that provides a helipad and storage for “toys,” and follows the big yacht around, according to The New York Times .  Koru has been under construction for years, but Bezos’s yacht was first spotted sailing in the seas of Spain’s Mallorca on Monday. The couple were photographed on board in their swim trunks , enjoying the fruits of their patience.

Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez have been spotted relaxing on the Amazon founder’s new superyacht, which is reportedly worth almost $500m.

The 59-year-old billionaire was photographed aboard the 417-foot-long vessel as it set sail along the coast of Spain on Monday, 15 May.

The couple’s maiden voyage comes nearly five years after the vessel was first commissioned in 2018 for half a billion dollars. The yacht – named the Koru after the Maori word for “new beginnings” – comes complete with three decks and a pool.

In photos obtained by the Daily Mail , Bezos was seen shirtless on the megayacht’s sundeck, while Sanchez was dressed in a pink bikini and white cover-up as the pair enjoyed the sunshine.

Bezos reportedly arrived to his yacht via helicopter, making use of the vessel’s helipad, after being flown to Mallorca on a private jet.

The 250-foot tall boat even came equipped with a figurehead that bore a striking resemblance to Bezo’s 53-year-old girlfriend. The polished wooden sculpture, which sits at the prow of the yacht, depicts a woman carved in the style of a Roman goddess, complete with long hair and a flowing gown.

Koru, previously known as Y721, is the tallest sailing yacht in the world with three masts measuring more than 230 feet, according to Boat International . It reportedly cost Bezos $485m.

The boat’s exterior has a classic design of a black hull with a white superstructure. Although the brand-new vessel doesn’t come with a helipad, the Amazon founder reportedly purchased a support yacht, worth $75m specifically to land his helicopter.

The Koru was constructed by Dutch yacht maker Oceano near Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It caused quite a scandal in February 2022 when the vessel nearly required the historic Koningshaven Bridge to be dismantled because its masts were too tall to pass under the bridge.

Indeed, the vessel is officially the tallest yacht in the world, standing at more than 230ft (70m), and is the length of four blue whales at 416ft (127m) - one of just four yachst in the world to boast a length of greater than 100m.

When Oceanco requested the city of Rotterdam dismantle the 100-year-old bridge – known to locals as “De Hef” – outraged citizens planned to throw rotten eggs at the superyacht. The yacht maker rescinded its request and ultimately hauled the 417-foot vessel to a separate shipyard to install the masts.

The clever design of the three masts, which see the yacht powered by kinetic energy, mean Bezos does not need an entire crew to staff the vessel - instead the Koru can be manned by one person (although no doubt the billionaire will have staff on hand for more of his voyages).

Guests visiting Bezos aboard his new superyacht are able to arrive via helicopter thanks to the vessel’s helipad, while other transport on board includes a fleet of cars, jetskis and smaller speedboats.

The yacht reportedly costs $25m a year to maintain, according to Page Six , but Bezos has more than enough money to cover the maintenance – his net worth is an estimated $141bn.

Basci, a Swiss designer who most recently dressed Gwyneth Paltrow at the CFDA Awards , has an atelier in Los Angeles. Upon seeing the dress, Sánchez knew it was the one.

At dinner, where long tables were set with meadowy arrangements of dahlias, Winfrey proffered her signature affection, embracing the bride-to-be. Kris Jenner, dressed in Chanel, posed for pictures with Staud designer Sarah Staudinger. All were treated to a speech from Bezos, which was dedicated to his fiancée, and a performance from Jewel. “They’re very in love with each other—they’re demonstrably in love,” Diller told Vogue. “She’s lit him up in the nicest ways. She’s a great stimulant.”

Followers of the couple’s matrimonial timeline might recall an earlier engagement party held this summer on Bezos’s yacht, Koru, with attendees Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gates, and Queen Rania of Jordan. With one event held at sea, and the other held on land, the setting for their actual wedding is anyone’s guess. Our bet’s on outer space.

Alive Girl Spotted at Sea

Jeff Bezos has added a bit of stunning new woodwork to his superyacht: The prow is now decorated with, as the Daily Mail put it, a “curvaceous winged GODDESS,” which bears a striking resemblance to Lauren Sanchez, Bezos’s girlfriend.

Bezos and Sanchez were seen lounging on the 400-foot yacht off the coast of Spain earlier this week , and the addition of a gleaming Alive Girl figurehead suggests that the ship is finally finished. The world’s largest sailing yacht has been under construction for some time — apparently it was being remodeled to house a swimming pool, a helipad, and room for a second, smaller yacht . Last year, it was nearly vandalized by a bunch of egg-wielding Rotterdam citizens when they heard one of their important bridges would have to be disassembled to make way for the yacht’s movements.

A nautical bust is not a practical accessory, but more of a spiritual symbol — an embodiment of a ship’s vibe. Traditionally, a figurehead would be a mermaid, a fierce animal, or maybe a Valkyrie to suggest protection. I feel that Sanchez, an enthusiastic helicopter pilot who is scheduled to go to space next year , seems more than appropriate for the job. Ahoy, Alive Girl.

Does Jeff Bezos's New Yacht Feature a Sculpture of Lauren Sánchez?

The world's largest sailing yacht appears to have a figurehead that resembles Sánchez.

The yacht, which is named "Koru" and reportedly cost around $500 million, features a wooden figurehead of a woman that seems to be based on Sánchez. In addition, the sculpture is wearing the symbol for Koru, which is Māori for "loop or coil" and represents creation.

Per the Encyclopedia of New Zealand , "The koru, which is often used in Māori art as a symbol of creation, is based on the shape of an unfurling fern frond. Its circular shape conveys the idea of perpetual movement, and its inward coil suggests a return to the point of origin. The koru therefore symbolises the way in which life both changes and stays the same."

Bezos has previously posted about the symbol of koru, including a photo in his New Year's Day post in 2022, where he wrote, "the new year is also a great time to take stock and focus on personal growth, renewal, rebirth, and paying careful attention to each moment of your life. Bezos and Sánchez have been spotted this week on the three-mast yacht off the coast of Spain. At 417 feet, it is the largest sailing yacht in the world, and it is trailed by a 246-foot support vessel called the Abeona.

Bezos and his first wife, MacKenzie Bezos , divorced in April 2019 , and he has been publicly dating Sánchez since that same year.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's new yacht Koru is the talk of the town these days, days after he and his partner Lauren Sanchez were spotted soaking up the sun off the coast of Spain. At 417 feet, ‘Koru’ is said to be the world's largest sailing yacht costing $500 million ( ₹ 4,145 crore), and has numerous features which makes the stay a royal experience. Here are five important things to know about this super luxurious possession of Bezos. 1. The name ‘Koru’ is actually a Maori (indigenous people of New Zealand) term for a coil or a loop which symbolises new life, growth and peace. In fact, the Amazon founder had included a photo of a koru frond in an Instagram post last year. 2. Talking about the design, Koru is a large sailboat with three masts, an on-deck pool and a mermaid-like structure on the bow, bearing resemblance to Bezos' partner Lauren Sanchez, New York Times reported.

3. This sailing yacht will be trailed by a 246-foot support vessel Abeona. This vessel is for carrying ATVs, supercars, seaplanes, motorcycles, smaller boats etc. It can carry them along with dozens of crew members. It has three huge 229-foot masts which power it to a speed of 20 knots.

4. Koru had triggered a controversy last year. It was built at Oceanco's facility in Alblasserdam in Netherlands and needed to pass the Koningshaven Bridge to undergo testing. When the local administration announced it would dismantle the bridge for the boat and mainmast, the locals had protested. However, the bridge was not dismantled and yacht took a different route.

Lauren Sánchez ’s engagement ring from billionaire Jeff Bezos is some serious bling.

The former TV anchor and Amazon founder confirmed their romance in January 2019. After over four years of dating, Bezos popped the question to Sánchez in May 2023 while the pair were on vacation in the South of France. Sánchez’s engagement ring features a large cushion-cut diamond set on a platinum band.

After news broke of the proposal, a source told PEOPLE that Sánchez was “on cloud nine” about being engaged to Bezos . “No one has ever seen her happier,” the source said. “She is elated to be engaged to Jeff. He is her prince.”

Speaking with Vogue in November 2023, Sánchez shared that while the pair’s wedding plans were still undecided, she “one hundred percent” intends to take Bezos’ last name . As for becoming the wife of a billionaire, the media personality said that she is prepared for the responsibility.

“I think there are a lot of opportunities that come with that, and I take those opportunities very seriously,” she said. “We always look at each other and go, ‘We’re the team.’ So everything’s shared.”

Sánchez’s cushion-cut diamond ring is 30 carats

Sánchez’s engagement ring is anything but ordinary. The massive sparkler features a cushion-cut diamond — estimated to be about 30 carats — set on a four-prong platinum mounting. While the rock initially appeared to be a classic white diamond, Sánchez confirmed to Vogue in November 2023 that her ring actually includes a more unique pink diamond.

With such a large center stone, it’s no surprise that Sánchez’s engagement ring has a high price tag. Jeweler and expert Briony Raymond told PEOPLE that due to the sparkler’s high color grade and clarity, it is estimated “to be anywhere from $3 million to upwards of $5 million depending on the exact specifications of the diamond."

Bezos proposed to Sánchez in May 2023. The pair were on vacation together in the South of France when the billionaire popped the question. Sánchez was photographed rocking her new accessory as she spent time with her new fiancé on his $500 million yacht named Koru.

Speaking with Vogue in November 2023, Sánchez said she and Bezos had enjoyed a starlit dinner before the proposal. At bedtime, she discovered the former CEO of Amazon had hidden an engagement ring underneath her pillow.

“When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit,” Sánchez told the outlet.

As for wedding planning, Sánchez told Vogue that the pair were still enjoying their engagement and had yet to make any decisions.

“We’re still thinking about the wedding, what it’s going to be,” she said. “Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged five months!”

However, the former TV anchor did have some ideas about her wedding dress, naming designers like Christian Dior and Valentino as some of her favorites.

Sánchez and Bezos celebrated their impending nuptials with two celebrations. Two months after the businessman got down on one knee, the couple hosted an engagement party on Bezos’ yacht on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. The star-studded guest list included Bill Gates , Paula Hurd , Kris Jenner , STAUD founder Sarah Staudinger and Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd.

In November 2023, the pair had another lavish soirée to celebrate their engagement in Los Angeles. Bezos and Sánchez’s bash included a performance by Jewel and a touching speech by the groom-to-be. According to Vogue , guests included Oprah Winfrey , Salma Hayek Pinault , Barbra Streisand , Miranda Kerr , Suki Waterhouse , Robert Pattison and more.

Lauren Sanchez stunned as she soaked up the sun in an ultra-mini white dress while on billionaire fiancé Jeff Bezos 's $500 million yacht. 

The loved-up couple has been enjoying a relaxing and romantic getaway in Greece alongside the brunette beauty's ex-boyfriend Tony Gonzalez, his wife October , and a few of their other pals - including Kim Kardashian .

And, the future Mrs. Bezos, 54, has made sure to show off her sizzling physique while on the lavish vacation. 

Most recently, Lauren took to Instagram to put on a stylish display, wowing in a crochet dress with a series of cutouts that accentuated her trim waistline. 

The mom-of-three - who is engaged to the 60-year-old Amazon founder - paraded her fit figure in the tiny number as she held her long locks back in the wind.

Her most recent snap comes after she touted her fun-filled lifestyle online.

She recalled how Jeff popped the question on the $500 million superyacht after they enjoyed a romantic dinner under the stars together.

Lauren said Jeff concealed the huge diamond ring under her pillow, adding that she almost 'blacked out' when she discovered it at the end of their romantic evening.

The couple recently relocated from Seattle, Washington, to Indian Creek Island in Florida - with Jeff purchasing three mansions on the island, totaling a whopping $237 million.

K im Kardashian is enjoying a packed summer schedule. Days before she landed in India to attend Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s extravagant wedding, the reality TV star was vacationing in Greece with Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and his fiancee Lauren Sanchez.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was part of the group onboard Bezos’s megayacht Koru. Built at an estimated cost of $500 million, the yacht has been sailing across Europe. TV personality Olivia Pierson, also part of the group, shared some photographs from her sunset sail with Kim Kardashian , 43, and Lauren Sanchez, 54.

“So much fun. Take me back,” Sanchez commented on the photograph.

“The cutest ever,” wrote Khloe Kardashian , who accompanied Kim to her India visit.

Shortly before landing in India, Kim Kardashian had shared photos from her Greece vacation on social media. One such pic showed her posing with her mom Kris Jenner, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, his fiancee Lauren Sanchez.

The Skims founder spent three days in India, attending the wedding and reception of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. She also paid a visit to the ISKCON temple in Mumbai and served food to children there.

Kim Kardashian and sister Khloe were among the several VIP guests at the Ambani wedding festivities. The sisters wore Manish Malhotra ensembles for both the events they attended. Their looks proved to be decisive among desi fashion police.

Anant Ambani is the younger son of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani. He married his longtime girlfriend Radhika Merchant on July 12 in Mumbai. The couple tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony where the guest list included Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and many more.

After the wedding and three receptions, the newlyweds landed in Jamnagar where they received a grand welcome.

Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos were photographed smiling and holding hands while walking around the annual Allen & Co. Sun Valley Conference on Wednesday morning.

The former broadcast journalist and the Amazon founder appeared to be in good spirits while walking around the conference –– which is frequently referred to as the “summer camp for billionaires” –– at the Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Sánchez dressed for the occasion in a Chanel off-white cashmere quilted skirt paired with a cream cardigan and a brown camisole underneath.

Sánchez, 54, accessorized the look with white sneakers, brown aviator sunglasses and held onto a light pink Louis Vuitton handbag.

Meanwhile, Bezos, 60, looked sharp in a black short-sleeve T-shirt, black vest and gray pants. He added a black belt, black shoes and black sunglasses.

The couple will join dozens of other CEOs, investors, politicians and business leaders to enjoy the outdoors while also talk business and work on forging partnerships together.

Some other notable attendees for this year’s conference include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Disney CEO Bob Iger, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Warner Bros. Discovery President David Zaslav, among others, according to Business Insider.

Bezos previously found success at the conference when he was able to hash out details and purchase the Washington Post for $250 million in 2013.

The billionaire and his fiancée have not been ones to shy away from showing their love for one another and have previously been seen holding hands, kissing and canoodling ever since they confirmed their romance in 2019.

Most recently, Bezos and Sánchez were spotted sitting close to each other and interlocking fingers while she supported her son Nikko Gonzalez –– whom she shares with ex Tony Gonzalez –– walking down the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria runway in Italy last week.

Prior to that special outing, the two enjoyed a day of jet skiing from their superyacht with their close friend Kim Kardashian in Greece last month.

A source previously told Page Six that Bezos and Sánchez are living on his $500 million “super big boat” in Aegean Sea.

“Lauren has been seen flying a helicopter on and off their support boat, where they keep all their toys . . . helicopters, speed boats and other water toys,” an insider told us last month.

Bezos popped the question with a  20-carat ring in May 2023, but they have not shared any information about wedding planning.

Sánchez was previously married to Patrick Whitesell –– with whom she shares son Evan and daughter Eleanor. Bezos was married to MacKenzie Scott from 1993 to 2019 and share four children together.

Lauren Sánchez shed light on how she and her fiancé Jeff Bezos approach giving back.

On Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter published a conversation between Sánchez and Eva Longoria, who have been friends for 20 years.

During their chat, Longoria interviewed Sánchez about her philanthropic efforts, which she said had been a passion of hers for decades but may seem new to the public now that she is donating billions of dollars alongside Bezos.

"The giving — monetary giving — is so much bigger now," she told Longoria. "So I can see how, you know, people might think that, but my passion I think for giving back started extremely early."

Sánchez, 54, and Bezos, 60, have been in a public relationship since 2019, and they got engaged in the fall of 2023. He was previously married to MacKenzie Scott , who announced in March that she would donate $640 million to 361 nonprofits .

"Jeff is extremely focused, as you can imagine," Sánchez told Longoria of her and Bezos' "philosophy" for philanthropy. "We really look for organizations that are not only addressing urgent issues but also have a clear, impactful plan for making a difference. That's important."

"We're prioritizing areas where we can help drive a systematic change — it's about making these thoughtful, informed decisions to ensure that the contributions will have the greatest impact," she said.

Much of Longoria and Sánchez's conversation focused on her and Bezos' work on the Bezos Earth Fund .

Bezos launched the fund in 2020, pledging to invest $10 billion through 2030 to combat the climate crisis. The Amazon founder intends to donate the majority of his fortune to charity. However, Bezos' net worth of $215 billion still makes him the second-richest person in the world, according to Forbes' real-time billionaire list .

Sánchez serves as the vice chair of the Bezos Earth Fund, helping Bezos and the organization's staff determine where to invest.

Sánchez told Longoria that she and Bezos are focused on new technologies, restoring "critical ecosystems," and "protecting nature."

"Jeff always says, 'We have to invent our way out of this,'" Sánchez told Longoria. "And so, investing in these solutions, some may work, some will be a hit, and some won't. But that's how we're going to get out of this, by funding scientific research to develop new technologies like sustainable aviation fuels or what's called green cement."

Likewise, the fund set aside $60 million for the development of meat alternatives that are less costly to produce and tastier than what is currently on the market.

"The meat that they're making now tastes so good," Sánchez told Longoria. "I know that's hard to believe, but I've tasted it. And that's going to, I think, make a big impact."

In addition to her work with Bezos, Sánchez, previously a news anchor , also works with charitable organizations like This Is About Humanity, which supports families that get separated at the US-Mexico border.
