Situated on a gently sloping hillside overlooking Wilson Lake in northwest Alabama, Turtle Point is a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design playing along the rolling tree-lined landscape. With very few fairway bunkers, the landing areas are narrowed by tall pines with exposed pinestraw underneath, conjuring up images of Augusta National. The par-3 eighth roughly resembles the 12th at Augusta as it plays over water to a shallow green angled away from the player and guarded by several small bunkers. Turtle Point is currently ranked fourth on our Best in Alabama list.

What Golfers are Saying

One of the best values for challenge, beauty and difficulty set up for the 10+ handicaper. Could be set up for a really difficult layout if Club wanted. They clearly have a hidden GEM and want it kept that way!

We attended a wedding at the country club last weekend, and it was a great experience. The venue itself offers a beautiful view of the water, and a charming club house. The best part of turtle point are their associates. In particular Jaiden and Haiden, they always had a smile on their face and were willing to help in any situation. I recommend Turtle point for this reason. Thank you Jaiden and Haiden! Y'all are the best!

Beautiful large club house. It is beautifully maintained. It overlooks the Tennessee River. It has a restaurant located on the back side. I recommend requesting to sit outside by the balcony the River view is wonderful. My meal was amazing. I liked my appetizer. We had crab cakes with shrimp. It was delicious. I also had Pita chips with a dip. That was good too. The salad was big size. I ordered the Cesar salad. It was good. I couldn't finish it it was so big and good. The dressing came on the side. That was a good touch. My order was duck with a cauli flower puree. It was great. The duck was good. A little under seasoned for me. The puree was great. It had s good flavor. It was nice and creamy. The service was great. A very friendly place. I enjoyed my time here.

What a beautiful place! Spectacular view of the river, spotless marina, Robert Trent Jones Sr golf course, and very, very nice people. Any questions?

Photo of Lala G.

I had a 3-month guest pass this summer when I was considering joining the club. Turned out that even with the trial membership, it just didn't work out. The golf course is amazing. One of the most beautiful courses I've played. And if it wasn't 100 degrees every day, I might have used it more than just a handful of times. The clubhouse, pool, and restaurant leave a lot to be desired. I suspect it would be a lot better if I were 65 years old and had tons of friends who are members. I'll try again in about 20 years.

Photo of Anthony Z.

A Southern Classic. Robert Trent Jones Sr. design golf course with some of the best views possible. The Club House is a testament to souther charm. Could use a bit of updating in some areas. But, given it's location, this place is a gem.
